Why do you think Tinubu repeated his muslim-muslim ticket? 5.6m out of Tinubu’s 8m votes in 2023 came from the North. Only circa 1m out of Atiku's 6.9m votes came from the South. Obi will still defeat Tinubu across the Southeast and the Southsouth. Tinubu will still slug out the Southwest with Obi and Seyi Makinde. We know all these is geared towards mobilising support for Tinubu in the wake of his fast-dwindling popularity in the Southwest but it is counterproductive as time will show.

People support people for different reasons,80% of obi's supporters clowning as obidients clandestinely seek igbo agenda for presidency. Atiku also has those that will support him purely based on where he is from.

Other regions proved this by being more balanced in their political choices where candidates from outside their regions were getting sizeable votes but not so in obi's region.

Seyi is in a far weaker position than adeleke,seyi is easier to be dealt with.....he has completed his 2 terms,je has 2 elections to fight for within just 2 weeks and his major focus is on the latter one which is installing his successor......only a fool will think seyi can fight on those too fronts effectively against apc......he will rather choose one and focus on it and the most important to him is installing his successor.

Fence mending after being defeated? That's negotiating from a position of weakness. Aside from wanting his withheld local government funds released, Adeleke doesn't need Tinubu but Tinubu needs him. Are you also going to mend the fence with Seyi Makinde now or wait until he defeats you and then start begging for fence mending? If Ambo had won, APC would not be showing Adeleke any magnanimity. Talks about EFCC arresting him would have been rife as they are now with Seyi Makinde.

For years Nigerian politics has often been described as a contest between political structures rather than ideas. Elections are frequently portrayed as battles of godfathers, money, incumbency and political machinery. Adeleke’s victory challenges that assumption. It demonstrates that while political structures matter they do not automatically translate into votes.

The electorate can still surprise political analysts.

More importantly the result reinforces the idea that elections should be about accountability. A governor who performs well enough to convince voters that his administration deserves another term can overcome political narratives created outside the state. Those who lost must accept the result, study what went wrong and return to the people with a better argument. Those who won must remember that electoral victory is not a permanent entitlement. The same voters who reward a government today can punish it tomorrow.

Adeleke’s victory is a reminder that Nigeria's democracy may be imperfect but the Nigerian voter remains more powerful than many political calculations suggest.

Perhaps the most important message of all is that political power may be influenced by money, machinery and connections but in a functioning democracy the final word should belong to the people.

No matter how you try to spin this,structures still won Adeleke the election......election was largely free and fair except for some few flashpoints which were negligible.

Adeleke is popular in is own right.

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the 2026 governorship election, according to Accord Party chieftain, Pelumi Olajengbesi.

Olajengbesi disclosed this while speaking with journalists at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Osogbo after Adeleke was declared winner of the election.

He said Tinubu personally called Adeleke to congratulate him, adding that the President deserved commendation for allowing the election to take place without interference.

Olajengbesi said Tinubu had kept his promise to allow the people of Osun to freely choose their governor.

“The President congratulated Governor Adeleke last night,” he said.

Tribune Online recalls that Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

The result gave Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes.

Honestly given the margin of this election's results despite the little division withing the APC in Osun, Tinubu winning the 2027 presidential election is almost a sure bet. PBAT can only be defeated when Atiku, PO, Kwankwaso all agree to work together.
