A poor man wants to go to ibadan from lagos,he doesn't have a car nor a bike so he has to go to the bus partk to take a bus he will be sharing with 17 other passengers......the bus needs 20 liters to get to his destination at 250 naira per liter whike govt bays the balance of 250 naira,thats 5k to be shared by 17 people

The rich man wants to embark on same trip,he has his suv with escort vehicle needs a full tank for each which gives you about 70 ltrs × 2 cars=140 ltrs at 250 naira and the govt pays the balance 250 naira as subsidy......thats 35k going to one single individual as against 294 naira tobthe poor man without a car,now tell me who is benefiting more from subsidies.

The poor man has never seen dollars all his life but he is being told dollar is cheap at 460....the rich man goes to the bank to but dollars at 460 that should have been sold at 1,400,the govt pays the balance of about 1k so as to keep defending the naira so you can be getting cheap dollars.....the rich guy goes to use that money to send his children to schools abroad,get medical care and go on holidays with his girlfriend while the poor man cant afford basic education and health care for his family because the money govt would have used to provide that has been used to pay subsidies on petrol and USD......tell me how much the poor is having to sacrifice for that cheap petrol.
