.. Nigeria is a very rich country..but mismanagement of funds misappropriation of funds , looting of funds, diversion of funds, corruption has made to think Nigeria is not rich ... Nigeria is rich..but the money is not used for the beneficial of Nigerians and the country..but it's the leaders and politicians that benefits from this money through mismanagement, misappropriation, diversion, looting of these funds to themselves inorder to enrich themselves... If all this money that have been mismanaged, misappropriated, diverted ,looted are recovery and added together you will know that Nigeria is very rich... and for USA is because USA like to involve in global war and military intervention with other countries.. involve their military men in battle and peace work with other countries, foreign aids, financial assistance to other countries that is why they owe a lot of debts...this Iran war USA spent a lot of money to fight the war with Iran and USA also assist Isreal financially to acquire weapons to fight this war Isreal is fighting in the middle east.
So all these makes USA to be a big debtor..I am not against Tinubu asking for loan but when the demand for loan is too frequent.
Demanding for loan everytime and every month that is the problem.. demand for loan should be once on a while not everytime
You dont just demand for national loans at a whim, its always proposed in every financial cycle with the terms and conditions explicitly spelt out,you need the concurrence of NASS to get it passed.

California's budget is about 10 times nigeria's budget ,thats a single state with far less population......your gdp per capita is just about 1k usd compared to Qatar with 71k usd per capita, the total health budget for 220m nigerians is not upto a billion dollars and you say Nigeria isn't a poor country? Do your research, study and dont let some disgruntled politicians be lieing to you.

They are so blinded by hate they cant be strategic in their thinking.....you should remind them no southerner will also vote another fulani just 4 years after buhari.....they are too belligerent to be wise enough to realise the odds are highly starked against the opposition as there is no common ground for consolidation......bloody reactionaries!!

Nigerian media have sunk to its lowest, no wonder, if Donald Trump of all insane people could compare Nigerian media to Fake News!

They have sacrificed professionalism and due diligence on the altar of picking up random tweets on social media. Brown envelope opposition journalism.
The army also needs to be more opened ,we are in the information age where effective communication is sacrosanct......why cant we know how many front line bases we have ,how many active regiments, how many equipments and type......how come NA is always too secretive about this info that should ordinarily be in public view.....how cone we can tell how many men the US has in ME and which regiments and command bases,I can even off hand tell you how many bases the US has in ME.....warfare is now less asymmetric and more about psychology and up-to-date tactics.

Last kick of dying Emilokan 😅🤣😂,
Medicine after death🤷🏿

How can someone buy a vehicle abroad for 4M, customs will collect 4M making the landing price 8M angry.

Aso Villa Bandit, you were suppose to ease many things after removing subsidy particularly transport related parts and accessories 🤷🏿(vehicle parts, tyres, duty on vehicles, trucks, cheap drivers license, cheap vehicles registration) but you didn't.
Hand must touch you 📌💯
I support tinubu and I believe in his ability to turn things around but on this which you have said,I totally concurrent,I kept wondering why govt didn't reduce tarrifg on these things to ameliorate the suffering also renewable energy most especially solar equipments, govt should as a matter of urgency reduce the tariff on them so as to make them more available and make it viable option for the epileptic grid electricity.......but there is nothing wrong if govt in their wisdom considers now as the most convenient to introduce these......bros dey calmdown, noh be fight.

matify83:
This is sure to have "mixed effect" on the economy as the prices of agricultural produce and consumer products would ease but it also has the deleterious effect of dissuading farmers from agricultural activities as the prices of imported palm oil, rice , and sugar will be far cheaper than the locally grown due to mechanisation and lower cost of production and energy abroad.

I hope this is not a short term measure to score political goals after which we will be educated on how food and cars are more expensive in Toronto
Since rice imports have been banned, why haven't prices come down ,its almost 10 years and we are still not self stomachs.....we cant grow enough to feed us all,so allow imports lets focus on crops we have comparative advantage like yam, cassava, maize, oil palm etc.

Ignoramus...do you even understand what subsidy is ?
If an item is subsidized the price is controlled by government not by the forces of demand and supply. Your dimwit of a president is comparing an oil producing country to a non-oil producing country. That comparism shows he's a dimwit.
There's something called comparative advantage. Nigeria is comparativly better in oil production. Just like Kenya is better in Titanium and Gold.
Don't come online and spread more stupidity, we have a enough of you guys already.
Mumu.....if we were still paying subsidies, prices would have gone up by now and how would govt have been able to afford it.....importers will want to create scarcity so as ro make govt increase prices, you will then have the usual long queues and spending days without seeing fuel, you will then have to resort to black market and buy at highly on subsidised rates.......hope you now see how 3k per liter came about.

And so your master strategist can't think outside the box other than borrowing?
I am surprised because you sound very intelligent but what you are proffering is dumb
When Tinubu came into power after removing oil subsidy and floating thes currency, he bought an Escalade similar to what the American president is using, changed the presidential aircraft, bought a Presidential yacht, renovated the presidential Dodan barracks and a lot of other frivolous projects. Does this look to you like a president that have the economic sagacity of a nation beleaguered by economic depression?

Has Tinubu's policies made any positive impact in any sector in Nigeria?
Continue being fooled by popular media, someone put up 3 jets for sale and bought 1 and you are complaining, how much is escalade that will affect the economy of Nigeria, my brother those are the least of our problems.....thinking out of the box rather than borrow, thats what he did by coming up with the tax reforms where govt revenue can be shored up through taxes but obi propaganda and rightist media made you dislike it.

Oga park well. U don't know what subsidy is all about. Subsidy is a payment made to subsidized goods and services for a group of people in other to make it more affordable. Underscore the word affordable.

So,if it is affordable, how can it get to 3k as u have alleged.

Stop following crowded to say no nonsense. Use ur head.
Calm down and stop frothing in the mouth.... how many people were getting fuel to buy at the normal pump price during scarcity.....isn't it black market majority will be getting from and would black market sell at regular price? The answer is no......since subsidy was removed when last did you see fuel scarcity? But in the old regime,u were at the mercy of the marketers but that's no more,we would have been in big trouble if that war in the middle east caught us with subsidy still our hands.

.. where is the money they have realized from removal of fuel subsidy...they said Money gotten from removal of fuel subsidy will be used for capital expenditures but they are still begging for loans from world bank and IMF every month
The moment you realise Nigeria isn't a rich country the easier ot will be for you guys to understand most of our economic problems.....there is no country in the world that isn't borrowing, its onlyvthe scale thats different, they united states is the world's biggest debtor with about 36 trillion in debts......debts servicing ratio was over 100% before tinubu came in but iya now about 66% under tinubu....that means for every 100 usd you are spending 66 is going to debt servicing what is left isn't sufficient to run your budget

I will thank Peter Obi for using his money for Philanthropy around the country doing things the government should be doing for the people.

Dangote refinery was commissioned on May 22, 2023, before he became President. In fact, he wanted to frustrate the refinery in favor of his associates importing from abroad. We all saw what happened.

You don’t have to use lies to make a point.
Is there more philanthropy in Nigeria than you have in America, does it mean the American govt aren't doing what they should fir the people.....was dangote refinery fully functioning before tinubu came?

How was tinubu frustrating dangote when infact he held the oil cabal down fir him,why is dangote always differing to the president everyone if he was an enemy.....you can twist reality all you want, but as for me,I don't allow anyone do the thinking for me.

Off point. Where is the proceeds from the removal?
No,it should have been bread and butter on your table or a new car for you or a new house......go check your states allocation from 23 and compare with previous govts,go check your debt servicing to revenue ratio which is now about 60% from over a 100% during buhari,go check your foreign reserves now and before......go check how many road projects are currently ongoing, where is the money for nelfund coming from, hiw was imf debt payed in full, why isn't your govs owing salaries again as was the norm when u had subsidies..... I can go on and on unless you can come with superior argument.

Ogbeni its ALL assumptions, thats what they told you becos they you can't think for yourself

Do you know long before Tinubu era, there were speculations Nigeria wont exist beyond 2015 and these prediction came from foreign nation CIA of america
..... Did it happened, was it subsidy savings that kept Nigeria beyond 2015

SO dont come here and tell us Adults that have seen life to "imagine" ...if subsidy was still ongoing Nigeria wil still survive, how do i know
The money that is supposed to be apportioned to subsidy his what your boss is sharing to governors and wastefully spending on govt expenditures.

we stop subsidy but we didnt stop spending recklessly and we even collect ×3 loans .. From wasting money on olosho you repented to wasting money on drugs ... How is that a growth-inducing change

We are vast nd expose, you cant confuse me Subsidy removal is the "messiah" must Go thats why Nigeria still exist
Have you even sat down imagine how much corruption takes from Nigeria compared to subsidy ... they are not telling you corruption wil Nigeria instead they prick your brain subsidy is only thing that will end Nigeria, dey place
Bayelsa just launched their electricity generation plant yesterday, mbah is doing wonders in enugu, otti is doing magic so is imo....makinde is doing all he is due to increased allocations, all the govs have affirmed this and you are here spewing stale narrative that subsidy was the best option.....why did our petrol consumption reduce after subsidy was removed, why as corruption in fuel importation been eliminated and why do we have fewer players now? Ask yourself these questions......your currency is stable because you dont need so much usd to go import petrol, your foreign reserves is going up, your debt to revenue ratio is down to abot 60% from over a 100% during Buhari.......bro,go check the facts and dont let yourself be lied to......subsidy was a scam!!

You are a beneficiary of the subsidy I think. Oh! You better be o! You better be. So you can better explain how the subsidy removal has bettered the lives of Nigerians.

quote author=Lithiumite post=139060583]

Rather you should thank him for affirming subsidy removal.....imagine we still had subsidy on petrol today, it would have been calamitous, we would have been buying at 3k per liter now and ther would have been scarcity and long queues... removal of subsidy made ot possible for dangote refinery to commence refining and selling to the local market.
There is no point trying to enlighten an obstinate ignoramus like yourself......if mot for dangote, do you know how much trouble Nigeria would have been right now with the current energy headwinds blowing the entire world......if tinubu hadn't affirmed the full deregulation of the down stream sector, thats if you even know what thay is,dangote wouldn't have been selling refined petrol to you, there would have been huge scarcity everywhere and you would have been at the mercy of importers.....you would have been buying from black market as high as 3k per liter.,study the system and try to understand how it works before coming to display your ignorance.
