PoliticsRe: NNPC Revenue Climbs As Profit Drops Sharply Amid Falling Oil Output by Lithiumite: 7:23am On Apr 13
givedemwotowoto:
Other Presidents from 1999 to 2015, despite their shortcomings, Nigerians felt their impact.

But everything about this government is audio

Nigerians only hear about it, only the corrupt politicians within government are enjoying it.
It is their cut and paste that you are feeling now.....your building is cracking, rather than do a comprehensive repair which will be more expensive and inconvenient, you rather just plaster and paint which doest remove the cracks but only hides it till the cracks start getting worse till the building becomes unstable.....thats what us happening to Nigeria right now......everything that you are suffering right now is the result of bad policies and economic mismanagement.
PoliticsRe: NNPC Revenue Climbs As Profit Drops Sharply Amid Falling Oil Output by Lithiumite:
Willy2025:
I no dey understand all these economic jargons. Money should be flowing now that crude oil price has doubled the budget benchmark. Budget is 63 dollars, crude oil is climbing steadily above 110 dollars. Also, "subsidy is gone" according to Tinubu. We are impoverished through high inflation and petrol price increase. Yet someone is telling us profits drop on top of all these. This is Monday morning o. This inflation is giving us inflated anger o
Ot doesn't work like that sir,oil is traded on 2 pricing threshold which are futures or spot pricing.....futures is a fixed price set over a long period like 3 months while spot price is the price its sold at every given time like every min or everyday.

Most countries or bulk buyers usually take the futures option, thats why you often hear that your crude has been sold months in advance.......you really cant feel the oil windfall until a little bit longer not like today today. So you can only pray and wish that the high prices continue to rally or the conflict should end so prices go down.
PoliticsRe: How Peter Obi Responded To The Question Of Subsidy Removal by Lithiumite:
tuoyoojo:
Removal of the subsidy without any major cushioning effects was the main problem

What safety nets did tulumbu put in place to cushion the effects of subsidy removal

In the full interview, obi talked about doing it gradually in other not to severe hardship to the masses

It's just like two chefs given ingredients to cook food, one does it haphazardly and the food comes out tasteless. The one now goes say says because his food is tasteless the other chef would not be able to cook well

Tulumbu data boys are at work from the responses above, stay guided
The CNG campaign and deployment came from heaven abi, enhanced local refining capacity with dangote refinery was built for Ghanaians abi,NELFUND is for Americans abi, your electricity subsidies is for ghosts.

What should he have done, cut off his manhood so you can be happy?

What exactly does fayose want from seyi makinde, why is he speculating and monitoring his moves like his life depends solely on it?No governor can dethrone a sitting olubadan, ibadan people know this. Fayose is just been a meddlesome interloper.
Fayose has a big axe to grind with makinde... remember he was the one that superintended their expulsion from pdp, fayose and wike.....trust me any of those 2 aren't the type of guys any politician would want to go against now imagine both of them against you.....makinde will be so uncomfortable.

The court should go ahead and and undo what it illegally started. Maybe blockheeds need the snatched Supreme court interpretation in a grabbed country under a runaway maladministration of mandate teeeeves to understand that judicial officers are not allowed to interfere in the activities of political Parties
Ignoring your intelligible rants, just Google whether courts can interfere in party affairs in Nigeria....its that simple, but many of you who aren't critically inclined to think on your own but only serves as conduits for broadcasting propaganda.....the courts can interfere if the party constitution has been violated or the electoral act or the constitution of the FRN.

I also believe your principal said this statement
I guess you unintelligently missed the party 500b was raised to settle debts in thay sector and another 3.3tr just approved fir your electricity debt..... this are debts that goes as far back as 2013,was it tinubu that owed those debts.

When those debts are paid,it then creates incentive to drive investment in that sector....electricity is out of govt hands, thanks to pdp.....you obviously arent smart enough to realise it's investment that sector needs and its out of govt control .

PoliticsRe: What This Massive NNPC Revenue Shift Means For Everyday Nigerians In 2026 by Lithiumite: 5:03pm On Apr 12
WaidesNiuz:
I get your point and those are valid questions. Let’s answer them directly with facts:

1. How did the increase happen?
The jump is mainly due to reforms and enforcement.
After the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and recent directives, NNPC began:

- Remitting more revenue instead of retaining it
- Reducing leakages and opaque deductions

Also, higher crude prices and improved FX conversion contributed.

Sources:

- NNPC Ltd Financial Reports / FAAC disclosures
- Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC)
- World Bank Nigeria Economic Updates

2. What are government’s new obligations?
With higher remittance, government is expected to:

- Fund budgets more transparently
- Reduce fiscal deficit and borrowing
- Increase spending on infrastructure and social services

This aligns with recommendations from institutions like the World Bank and IMF.

Sources:

- Federal Ministry of Finance (FAAC reports)
- World Bank Nigeria Development Update
- IMF Article IV Consultation on Nigeria

3. How sustainable is the increase?
It depends on three key factors:

- Global oil prices
- Nigeria’s production levels (which have fluctuated due to theft and outages)
- Consistency of reforms and enforcement

So yes, it can be sustained, but it is not guaranteed.

Sources:

- OPEC Monthly Oil Market Reports
- NUPRC production data
- Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) analysis

4. Cause and effect?
Cause:

- Policy enforcement + improved revenue capture

Effect:

- Higher government income

But here’s the key point:

👉 Higher revenue does not automatically improve people’s lives
👉 Impact depends on how effectively the money is spent

That’s the gap the analysis was highlighting.

If you want the full breakdown (beyond just numbers), it’s here:

Nice posits and I honestly acknowledge your intellect.......Is this a plus to the govt and how best can ot affect the common man.

PoliticsRe: Fuel Price Biting Hard But You Are Better Than Those In Kenya - Tinubu by Lithiumite: 4:56pm On Apr 12
dejavubobo1:
It's both artificial and importation induced scarcity. A product you import can become scarce if the exporting country encounters bottleneck.
On the other hand marketers and distributors here want more profit, so they induce scarcity. (But now, they're even bolder they just jack up price anyhow)
I hope you guys see that your ruining/political class are running a business and not a country.
With all this you have mentioned, which i agree with you to an extent, now picture what it would have been like if we still had subsidy regime.....we would have been in a total mess, importers and marketers would have been pushing to make as much profit as possible, creating scarcity and forcing govt to raise prices which govt would have been able to barely afford.

our grand fathers defended rubbish they sufferred for it and pass down the suffering to ur fathers, our fathers also defended rubbish and compounded the rubbish and passed the double suffering to us, we are defending the tripple double rubbish too and passing it down to GENZ and quadrippling the suffereing and they will pass it down to and because we wanna be right and we wanna win.. if we joined hand together to critisize a govt that failed and they lose election, we joined hand together to criticise the coming one till they lose too and eventually they will start listing to us by doing the right thing... we started well by criticising GEJ till he lost election and PMB came in, if we had continue or defended those criticising pmb failures and not turning it to tribal jabs, we would have grown to criticise tinubu well enough and in a generation or two, we will be balanced and criticism woould have become a norm and would have been better for the country.. we wold have all realized that loyalty is not to any politician but to the country.. we would have learnt that loyalty to an individual stop immediately it diverge from the interest of the country and its people...
Show me one single time you have criticised obi, just one then you would be worth the attention!!

I wonder what you people gain in lying on social media

Looking over Lagos from an airplane at night is not different from looking over Amazon forest at night also
That doesn't negate the fact there has been improvement in my area and my life over the past 2 weeks.......if you don't have electricity, thats your problem.

Mindlog:
Improvement, as in 24hrs electricity supply in your area?

Though some Nigerians believe they don't deserve 24hrs electricity supply.

APC has been in government for 11 years and still can't get the power sector right!
I get over 22 hours in my area,go to ifako ijaiye and ask,I am not saying its wide spread as someone areas definitely have connection and enumeration issues.

About being in power for 11 years, pdp squandered $16b with your atiku and el rufai in power with the amenities later privatised by same pdp under gej with your david mark as senate president.....the quagmire of that I'll thought out policy is what this apc has still not been able to untangle.....if things were done properly under pdp we wouldn't be in this mess right now.

I ask again
What do u gain in lying to yourself?
U people need to separate politics from governance
If we call out the govt together and they fix the light, it will benefit you and your household
Stop defending failures
Do you love in my area,do you know the reasons why sone places would have better electricity supply than some......opposition isn't criticism all the time, if you can repudiate when the system failed, its only morally appropriate to acknowledge any improvement no matter how little.......i have not in anyway given the power minister or tinubu any pass mark.

So why Tinubu and his gangs opposed Jonathan then?

PoliticsRe: What This Massive NNPC Revenue Shift Means For Everyday Nigerians In 2026 by Lithiumite: 6:07pm On Apr 11
Your analysis is crap, tautological inferences.....how did the increase cone about, what are govts new obligations with nnpc, hiw sustainable is the increase, cause and effect?
BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery Has Shielded Nigeria From Global Energy Crisis by Lithiumite:
Flangelo12:
Without a doubt.

If this refinery had not been in operation, imported would have caused scarcity, jacked up the price times 2, NUPENG would have been rolling in money.

Shege.

grin
Same thing i was saying on the other thread that thank God we had ended subsidy before now.....it would have been hell for Nigerians....importers would have held nigerians by the balls.....but obidients as always started cursing still claiming tinubu was wrong.....forgetting so quickly the days of persistent scarcity and black markets..... typical of them, short sighted and myopic.
