Private security with Ak 47 or the ones with "Six packs"?

There are limitations in terms of training and armaments for private security outfits in this country..

And if you take a closer look at the arms and ammunitions these insurgents carry, especially those from the North, you would know that anything less than a well trained officer as you security is a joke
Guy!! Look at the opportunities inherent..... professional private security coys will then be able to fill that void.....I see more employment opportunities for youths and even retired military men and I see police being able to focus squarly on policing work, though I support that their pay should also be looked into as that's equally very important.

That's how employment is created through private coys and expand the economy.....it's not the job if govt to build work places for people to work but rather create an environment.

The architectural transformation of this Anglican edifice on the Marina really has a unique history. The current church house is totally different from what is in the first picture

Can't believe the landscaping to widen the land and push the ocean further into the harbour was this enormous.
The cathedral and the building behind it still stands till this day.

First time in a very long time I am reading something that pleases the heart from this country'. Nigeria has been first in the worst things one can ever imagined in the past 10 years.
So the question will be, how did we get this bad. The answer is APC.

APC knew Jonathan's plan to remove fuel subsidy was good and also many other planned policies like SURE-P but they deceived Nigerians, gaslight the then government, brought insecurity to the nation and gave us an ineffective ruler in the person President Buhari. They were basically playing chess with lives of Nigerians.

They cannot stand now to say, they have improved the indices. The question I will asked them is from what Base have they improved the living standard? Is it from the time of Obasanjo, Yar'Adua or Jonathan?
You are getting it all wrong.....if gej had succeeded with subsidy removal.....fuel would have shot up to 2k per liter because we would have been totally dependent in imports as all our refineries are moribund.... There weren't concrete plans for local capacity until the buhari govt came and made dangote possible.....if not for dangote the subsidy removal would have been an abysmal failure and we would have been crying blood......The oil cabal would have held gej to ransom and his characteristic ineffectual style would have been helpless....that was why buhari had to hold on till the dangote refinery was about 80% completed.

Lol .. the people laughing don't know that Wike like the Governor of Abuja, Wike is empowered by to ensure Abuja development plans are followed.

A COS that couldn't lead by example by ensuring he gets all the necessary documents from relevant government authority. Decided to use military might and I see people supporting him because Wike is involved.

Such illegality will not stand before the law.

FCT authority should go to Court and seek an injunction barring the COS of claiming to be the owner of the land and asked to produce all relevant documents that supports his ownership to the land. Failure to provide those documents will automatically strip him of ownership.

COS does not know Wike, this is not a military case, it's not against boko haram or armed robbers.

It's now a civil case, lol.... Sorry Wike go revoke that land. Lol.... Wike will laugh the last laugh.
All those criticizing wike are just doing that out of envy and nothing more, wike will best them legally if that cns decides to go to court and he will also best them politically if that cns decides to continue to drag......wike will remain a minister and will demolish that land and nothing will happen, the soldier will return to his barracks, the recalcitrant cns will be given another land with appropriate documents.....while all the wike haters will gain nothing and remain poor and hopeless

Wike is unlucky this time around because that land in question belongs to a fulani person by origin.

If that land belongs to an Igbo man the story will be totally different. cheesy cheesy grin
You are the only one seeing the true picture......many are intelligently failing to notice the hidden message in that altercation.

He is a northerner who sees a southerner as inferior.

He is a soldier who considers a civilian inferior.

No southern officer will try that and not get reprimanded.

The military intend to be a law unto themselves which is unacceptable in a democratic setting.

Why is a security agent of state trained and being cared for by tax payers, why would he be protecting private property.

Alol !! your comment shows you dont even understand anything

the soldier was on his commander property to defend an order given to him,

Wike shouldnt have taken himself low flexing muscle with a young officier, IF wike was so sure of himself that he is big and powerful in hierachy he should have called the General/owner and order him to call his boiz back

The soldier had every right to be on his Commander property until the court/verdict says otherwise.

You cant intimidate a soldier, that Military Uniform is bigger than Wike, insulting the officier is tantamount to insult on Nigeria and we expect Wike to know that buh he is always drunk

lol ! oldo GCFR is not even a civilian title, it only applies within the Military sphere, so that soldiers represent the GCFR, infact it is Wike that has commited treason assaulting a Nig. soldier on camera cheesy

Shey you see your life naw, what you dont know is bigger than you
Go shove your sentimental rabble up ur black arse.....we have seen civilians in open verbal confrontation with the military, the Kenyan tax riots some years back readily comes to mind, same is Tanzania just recently......our smaller but more sensible neighbour, Benin Republic has far more civilised military civilian relationship than the nonsense we have here, the military over there carry themselves with the utmost sense of responsibility and integrity and not aura of intimidation and condescending attitudes.

You may still be suffering from military hang over or you belong to same community.....the soldier stepped over the line by disrespecting a federal minister.....we are in a democracy and the military has no right on civil matters more annoyingly a an responsible military that hasn't been able to wipe out decades of insurgency pervading the land.....he is a junior officer to the position of a federal minister.

DeLaRue:
You are incorrect.

In the pecking order of seniority, a Minister is even more senior than the Chief of Defense Staff.

That is why the Chief of Defense staff is under the Minister of Defense.

Military should be in barracks, not dictating to a senior representative of a civilian government whether he can or cannot enter a privately owned piece of land.

I hope the government doesn't take this lightly.

These are the sorts of excesses that breeds indiscipline in the military.
Or further emboldens them to attempt regime change through a coup d etat......that guy must be court martialed for dereliction or that property be consficated by govt with immediate effect.

Lol. Generals don't retire, they just leave active service. A General dies a General. There's a reason why even after speaking to the CDS, the boys weren't asked to stand down. There are levels to this military thing. Wike was not informed but he now knows better.

Let me quote the young officer, Lt AM Yerima verbatim,

“Sir, I request to enlighten you, there is no such thing as a former Vice Admiral, a Vice Admiral is a Vice Admiral…”
So the vice admiral can illegally come take your land or better still your wife because he is vice admiral.....it's wike today,it will be you or any defenseless person tomorrow.

like kneel or lye flat on the floor becos he is talking to your god
He being there alone should earn him disciplinary action, what business does a soldier have in meddling in civil matters....we all cry about the dysfunctional state of the country but appreciate impunity because you feel it's targeted against ur enemy.....that guy has committed a treasonable offence by brazenly defying a representative of the GCFR of the FRN.....it should never be allowed to stand,he perfectly represents the interests if those sympathetic to the alleged coupist.

The country is just in chaos.

A military personnel should not in any way be out blocking a minister from carrying out his duties.

Nigeria is NOT Pakistan.

In the scheme of things, the military is beneath the Executive arm under the constitution and a Minister is senior to even the Chief of Defense staff.

So, who is the army guy's boss that sent him to prevent a Minister of the Federal Republic from performing his lawful duties huh

In a serious country, the military senior that sent the guy to do the hatchet job will be investigated and demoted. But not in Nigeria. No wonder we have attempted coups.
The so called boss is the retired CNS Gambo......I did be surprised if a single brick is still standing in that place, the land should have been confiscated immediately and whatever title revoked.....this is an aberration to civility by those soldiers.

The Senior Special Assistant on Gutter Affairs to the Lagos state governor has spoken. I request to enlighten you, Sir Mr Igbokwe, but a soldier only answers to his superiors in the military and the Commander-in-Chief. Wike is a bloody civilian.
What purpose is a man trained with tax payers money to serve and uphold the integrity of FRN,what purpose is he serving protecting private property which was clandestinely acquired by whatever superior you are referring to here.....why would a soldier that should be helping fight the insurgents running riot over sections of nigeria, why should he be guiding private property.

I hope when you talk of them “progressives”, you refer to APC only. Maybe you are not aware that APGA is not termed as such. Looking at the count we can see what APC scored and the result was because of Ukachukwu’s effort. Maybe you need to be reminded that Anambra is a remains a stronghold for APGA.

No be only 95%, na 9.5%. Maybe your hope is that Doludi should hand over Anambra to BAT before 2027 as a way to guarantee himself a political position at the federal level when he vacates yhe governor’s seat in 2030. Na big failure una go see.
Remember a faction of apga was part of the legacy patties that formed the apc.....it's only sad that SE politicians play ego politics and can't really themselves together for one person, everyone wants to be boss.
