macof:Americans won't speak English with a British accent because citizens of both countries are native speakers of the English Language. Who is even speaking with a Nigerian accent? The Yoruba man who pronounces 'the chair' as 'di sheer' or the Igbo man who pronounces 'flat' and 'frat' the same way? Well, maybe it's the Hausa man who pronounces 'pee' as 'fee' and 'fee' as 'pee' What's a Nigerian accent? Tell me. We know what an American accent is, and we know what a British accent is. Then, we know what an Irish accent is, and we can notice the differences between them. Tell me, what is the difference between a Nigerian and an American accent? Nigerian - American (flat - frat) (the - d) (chair - sheer) (fee - pee) ? This your Nigerian accent thing is nothing but a joke! Sit down, take some time away from your gadgets, and THINK! Any accent of the English language which is influenced by local languages of the speakers is not an acceptable one. The language of Ireland is English, and so is America and Britain. A Ghanaian man who pronounces 'fork' as 'feck' and 'but' as 'bet' as it is pronounced in the Ghanaian accent English would be none but a subscriber to inferiority complex if he tries to learn to pronounce the correct way - in your opinion? I don't think you should reply this if you're only going to show the world how much of a cyber bully you are than a logical debator, just like you just did above. ![]() |
timpaker:Timpaker, I sent a request, sir. E done reach like one month now o... ![]() |
Bhenehdikt:Lol. Reading it again, I seem to understand your point now, bro. You used to be a participant in the NPC Poetry Classes, right? |
Bhenehdikt:Go back a few meters and take a right turn. That's where you'll find the science and technology section. ![]() |
darkenedrebel:Wow! This is something else. Hehe |
LarrySun:Hi Larrysun. I'm scared things could go wrong along the way if we decide to write without a plot outline, no matter how brief. I believe a that a few more amateur writers - like me - were admitted on the train this year, than have ever been in previous years, so it would be too a risky venture to go into the collaboration without even at least a very brief plot outline. By that, we can know where exactly our destination is. Surely, an excessively detailed plot would do us nothing except for the smothering of the blazing fires of our imaginations, but a fairly detailed one sure would do us a lot of good - in my opinion. |
This is a very nice piece, Teempakguy; it takes me back to my childhood days. Daddy used to barb his own hair while we were kids and he would place one mirror behind him and the other in front of him. In that way, he could see the back of his head from the mirror in front of him. One day, I went into his bathroom and stood between the two mirrors and I was quite fascinated to realize that as the mirror in front of me reflected what was on the mirror behind me, the mirror behind me was also reflecting what was reflected on the mirror in front of me. It didn't stop there. The mirror in front of me again was reflecting what the mirror behind me was reflecting of it. Then, it didn't even stop there. I tried over for some days to count how many of the reflections the mirrors showed, but they always got too tiny for my little eyes to see. Hehe The number of reflections on Daddy's mirrors was definitely infinite.... ![]() |
GidiQuotes:GidiQuotes, this is a beautiful piece, really. There are a few things I'd like to say about it, though. First is: the title - to me - doesn't seem to correlate enough with the poem body. Don't you feel the same? Secondly, I'm very sure that this piece would have looked more beautiful, polished and would even be easier to read and understand if you had punctuated it. Take a look a look at the second line in the second stanza for an example. There should have a been a sign between 'life is short' and 'I should be writing my will' to signify a break. Imagine you performed this piece as spoken word: it sure would sound very awkward if you didn't observe a pause between those two phrases, so there should be a mark to signify that pause in your writing too. As much as I am not a fan of the ellipsis in poetry, I should confess that it would be the best to go in there. A hyphen or a semi colon would do the job quite well, too. Thirdly, I remember you telling me something about you being a rebel (not the exact word you used) poet. You're definitely also a modern one, so I understand perfectly why you're not plying the conventional route of starting every line with a block letter, but, I think you should try it someday; it's beautiful! Once again, you have a very beautiful piece. I have a feeling your child smiled at this. It's a just a feeling. ![]() |
Misterlaby:Misterlaby, if you need to have a chat with him, abeg use the chatroom. This thread was created for a reason na. Obinnau, Please help clean up the thread; having to go through all these being said when we should already be setting up a plot could dumb down all the morale. |
texanomaly:You would have made my list too. Sincerely! Donifez, Adanna28, kr0ne, and JigsawKillah too would have. |
And.... Sinizia, What can you make of random words? Like, Closing and threads and burying and hatchets? It's a twist; random makes sense. |
And..... Mynd44 are you here? Would my fury prescribe my words You'd cringe, but just grab a beer...for now Trickery's origin- The beginning of blarney Flimflam's fling's start.... Don't you think? That sources of all- Sources, of all, Are right a stream of you? A steady one? |
Metal objects strike, Mental objects strike- Thoughts strike Muses spark.... Little words unfurled, Ucnurled- Lost words called ..Another mystery to be unsolved... HARDDON, where did the tide take you? How far away? |
Mogidi:What you will put in your mouth has stripped away from you, the dignity that makes a man. Your common sense - sad enough - has been stripped off too. |

OlufemiOAP:Olu, every one of those messages you send decrease her interest in you - if she had any - by some value. It's direct proportion; you thought it was inverse and that's where you got it all wrong. Women don't want men that are needy; they want men that are a bit of a challenge to own, you know what I mean? They want a man they can work for; they lose interest when you make things too easy for them. Sincerely, I don't think the girl is into you. Besides, she had told you earlier that she had a boyfriend. Did she break-up with the boy for you? If she didn't then you're a side-chick bro, and only a few things in this calamitous world is worse than being a male side-chick. I'm a shy person too, and I know that crazy urge that overshadows the sight of every shy dude to hold on to the one we can find because we're scared we might never find another one, but I'll tell you that you still haven't found one yet and that not being in a relationship at all is better than being in one of this type. And there's one big reason you shouldn't be in this relationship, and it's probably the biggest: a girl who can't show some appreciation when you do things for her is not deserving of your heart, bro. ![]() |
pretydiva:Someone came here for help and all your fingers can type is 'common sense isn't common'? Sure it isn't; I just noticed. Read what you wrote again. |
MrCork:With this your big big Engriishs, the girl half alredyy vex you o. ![]() |

This brawl is a nice one; a funny one at the same time because both of the battlers came out with two schemes I had stored in my Memopad. If only we had a well-functioning anti-spam bot in Nairaland, Feembleez1 and Mynd44 would by now be running around in circles, chasing their own shadows from the cane strokes it would be mercilessly laying upon them; this is too big an offense! ![]() |
LarrySun:She de-activated. |
sinizia:I didn't see your back-and-forths; you might have found my account viewing - if it wasn't an optical illusion - but I definitely wasn't viewing. (Maybe _Seun needs to do something about his malfunctioning systems). I got to the thread to meet lines of deleted comments. I knew not of a prior feud with _Captainflash also. So you can imagine what it looks like when a 'random' voter votes and your opponent just jumps out from nowhere to say their vote is null. If you had been in my situation - knowing not of an earlier ban - you sure wouldn't have kept quiet, would you? ![]() Abeg, go count votes and close thread jare! Abi you wan do am oga mikuz style? ![]() |
sinizia:Hehe. I was as polite as I could be with you, Sin, and I raised not further objections when Rebel told me you banned him from voting priot to our brawl. So what's all this 'If Corn needs the win' talk about? Na me the win go add to my account? ![]() |
