My Girlfriend still reaches out to her Ex Boyfriend for financial assistance. I admit it gets me really upset.

I want the best for her and want her to grow financially, but I feel help from an Ex is going too far and quite disrespectful.

Please advise, guys, is my anger justified and reasonable?
She calls her ex for money. I don't want to assume things but that is a bad place for your relationship to be. If she is not satisfied by what she has and what you can give, please set yourself free. No matter how tempting it is, be careful.

Isah Dan Baba has emerged as the overall best cadet in the recently concluded Inspector Cadre of Nigerian Police force. Dan Baba a.k.a Adda(Cutlass) as he is commonly known in his local area was popular for his multiple assaults, petty theft, heavy drug abuse, fraud, e.t.c. Dan Baba has this to say to reporters about his remarkable achievement: "It just seems natural to me. Everything about the training was easy and familiar to me. I didn't have to change anything about my past or morals. I encourage people like me to join the police, we are practically born for it. " He was given Tafa Balogun Trust Award the highest honor bestowed on Cadets. I later pointed it out to him that I saw him with weed which is a crime, he laughed and remarked, " Who will arrest me then? The Police?"

A local trader in ibadan fully supports the border closure and restriction on the import of food product into Nigeria. The woman Bisi Segun is quoted saying "I fully supports this government policy on restriction of rice importation into Nigeria. I rather buy Local rice at 18, 000 naira than foreign ones at 9,000 naira. " She then proceeded to haggle for 30 minutes with a local groundnut seller. After which she bought 20 naira groundnut.

Then don't make bad things worse. Inflation is killing us in this country.
Inflation is killing entrepreneurs and SMEs.
Our CBN is basically printing paper to finance socialist policy that make government crooks and politicians rich. But doesn't affect the common man.
State governments have basically become drain for resources. Demand transparency from states in all fiscal matters.

I don't support protectionism but the US, the great defender of seamless world trade allowed Trump to come to power so we should scatter everything and gain all we can.from the confusion. I think Nigeria will evenyually lead African countries in retaliating against low primary commodity prices - oil, lithium fir batteries, copper, palm oil and cocoa. As that fool Trump was shouting "America first", let Africa shout " Africa first". We will cause a global depression in two years, then the whole world will come begging.

Second point, Buhari is not a socialist but Nigerias poverty level is intolerable. It is a big crime and unbelievable senselessness to have 70% poverty and it is not business friendly policies that will eliminate poverty. It is rather taxation, social welfare and social investment. Nigerians are such natural capitalists, that every 1% improvement in poverty alleviation will grow the GDP by at least 5% and unleash 1 million new traders, craftsmen, transporters and farmers ..but we need to endure policies that will appear like negative socialism for a while.
Protectionism and mercantilism has never worked. Is the protection of limitation and misery. Read about history of Japan and China. It will not work for America too.
If you want to alleviate poverty you need to support creation of wealth. Poverty is the natural state of man and is neither moral or immoral. Capitalism and free market has been the most efficient means of creation of wealth ever.
Globalism in trade is the future. The world is much smaller now. I can use my phone to buy a merchandise from China at retail price.

keep complaining ....The closure is here to stay.

For majority of Nigeria's population born in 70's and early 80's......Rice was gold...eaten mostly around festive period and in parties. Maybe we should go back to that era and start eating our porridge corn and Beans. (Egbo ati ewa)
Just observe this comment very well, then answer my questions. Does this sound like a poverty alleviation motive or poverty increasing motive? Does this sound like a live and let live sentiment or a compulsion sentiment? Those this sound like wicked or a compassionate comment?
This is the general sentiment I have heard in support of border closure.

The last paragraph is your opinion that I disagree with. Buharis focus has sometimes being rebuilding statutory , fiscal and operational integrity of the country that was lost. There are no modern ways to do leadership. Its the same principles since 0 a.d. You cannot computerize it. Same principles, set a vision and get people to buy into it and follow it. Buhari style is even far better than Putin, Erdogan and Trump. At least, he was through governance structures as a former military man. I find his style better than OBJ's bullying (I too know) or GEJ (appeasement of powers and bribing people to pacify them). Buhari will simply take you out if you cross boundaries ofvsovereigjity
Buhari style of governance in my observation is protectionist economically, socialist in governance and conservative in social values. I support conservative social values but I am strongly against protectionist and socialist ideals. How I miss OBJ.

Businesses don't invest solely because of patriotism, but they mostly do because of opportunities and filling voids created because of government policies and programs.

China closed its doors for decades to attain self-sufficiency and they did not get to where they are today without sacrifices, they suffered through hunger, low quality and substandard existence so look for a better and more logical analogy.

Nigeria's food security future is bigger than your unpatriotic spirit and desires for imported rice.

China closed it's borders and Chairman Mao Slaughtered more than 30 million of his people. It was the latter members of the party that copied Singapore's model, opening up the country to investment that made it prosper. Same with India.

I have said it again and again Ignorance is wickedness. In the name of the Lord I shall not die in this misery you people are desperately yearning for. If closed borders make countries prosperous North Korea will be the number one economy in the World.

Which famine? Beans, yam, Garri, akpu, amala and even bread don finish for market? Na by force to chop rice? If we want chop rice, why can't we grow rice? Afterall rices is grown and harvested within 3 months.

What you guys fail to understand is that imported rice and fuel is putting too much strain on our foreign reserves and exchange rate. If dang dangote refinery becomes operational and we grow our own rice, our exchange rate will improve tremendously, maybe $1 to less than N200.
Keep dreaming man. It has not work in Venezuela or Zimbabwe. Venezuela has more oil reserve than Nigeria. Keep dreaming R word.

Ignorance and wickedness is when you think buying cheap rice to satisfy your own personal palate is greater than Nigeria and her food security.

All the food sufficient countries all over the world didn't achieve food security without sacrifices or any pain.

Fairtrade is a major issue today, even rich and advanced countries are not taking any chances, they are banning and slamming tariffs on their own friends and allies to protect their own market and local industries.

Nigerians want to have everything, but they are not willing to work for it, sacrifice for it or even fight for it.

Nigeria is the way it is today because Nigerians are the most lawless, unruly and unpatriotic people in the world.

if you want to buy Nigerian rice buy it. Nobody farms rice because of patriotism but because it is a venture. How can a just government deprive me of choice to compel to support somebody else venture. That is theft and compulsion. Is immoral and Illegal to a certain extent. Go and read about how rice farming was developed in China.
Your ignorance is costly. This type of ignorance that cannot have humility and self-doubt is almost evil. Because is a compulsion of one choice over another when the two can coexist simultaneously. Is too hard not to hate you.

Unfortunately it has made us too playful... we dont care about serious issues again

In fact there is a serious stereotype that people believe worldwide that black people are somehow "less sensitive to pain"..it causes a lot of problems when we go for medical treatment because doctors/nurses dont take us seriously and more of us end up dying as a result

It has its roots in slavery because people believed us to be sub-human or "animal-like" and it still affects how people perceive us today

Look up the story of what happened to Serena Williams when she went to give birth to her daughter... i dont really appreciate this kind of research even if its true
These adaptations can be defined by factors that are much older. People that live in tropical areas live in paradise (climate speaking). Prove includes our length of night and day is kind of a balance. Unlike in temperate zones where length of winter is associated with high depression. There is something about light and warmth that affects humans mood.
It is a disadvantage only when you consider depression something positive. I do consider it as positive because depression is a manifestion of anxiety, anxiety is associated with self-consciousness. Self-consciousness is associated with attention. Attention is focus which increases the intensity of awareness.

How can we produce anything? Our business men are crony capitalist. They enact government regulations on enterprises and bribe their way through it. They set tarriffs on imports and bribe to bypass it. They enact license for importation of certain goods and bribe to get those. They set up monopolies protected by the government.

Nafdac, Ndlea, Customs, SON, CPC, e.t.c. all these regulatory agencies just look at business as there cows. They milk them for all they can. We have created a welfare state that is strongly against free trade. We have create a protectionist economy that protect the interest of the few.

When there is nowhere else to borrow from to foot their unnecessarily outrageous spendings they fall back on the citizens

And tax their lives out.

From stamp duty charges to higher VATs down to cable and internet taxes.
They've speedily reintroded the suspended cashless policy and they'd also soon start charging cash lodgements.

This is apart from the intended deployment of new toll gates.
This is simply a Next Level of hopelessness for citizens.
Because they have nothing to offer them.
Blame the electorate that always wants free thing from the government. Nothing is ever free. It is in their name and consent that all this spending and trade restrictions are allowed. The electorates were cheering the restriction on FOREX and closing the border.

The government has never worked on the electorates benefits. It has a life of it's own. It fight for it's own survival.
Politics / Re: IMF Says Nigerian Government Dependent On Expensive Borrowing by LocalNietzsche: 5:20pm On Oct 10, 2019
1. Borrowing from the CBN is just inflation. Ponzi Scheme of the highest order. If inflation doesn't stop the hike in minimum wage will be useless.
2. Start pressuring states to be fiscally responsible i.e make EFCC work. States are the drain of the Nigerian Revenue.
3. For Fork sake stop restricting trade and enabling crony capitalist, those that cannot produce or do business without government interventions.
4. Why am I wasting my time. The experts know the right thing better than I do and will never implement it. Woe to whoever gave control of our economy to politicians.

At this point, I think it would be better for anyone who hears any info from so-called ‘uncle’ or ‘family friend’ to keep such info to themselves, and let APL come when it wants to come. No matter what you heard, it is still speculation, and we know that any current situation of the recruitment can change at any time—Buhari can wake up tomorrow and cancel the stuff or decide to employ cows instead of us. So, until any information is concrete, which is only when APL is really out, any information you guys bring to this forum is simply unnecessary. It will only create unnecessary expectations or palpitations. Bye.
