Firstly, the only reason why the government is setting up their new bank transactions policies is cos the government has run out of ideas to get money so it want to indirectly tax every poor Nigerian by getting a cut in most of our major monitory dealings. I mean how else can they get us to pay for transactions done in cash? But this is just one of the reasons, though major. But this government lack ideas and innovative ways than always trying to put more pressure on the vast majority of poor average Nigerians. This cluelessness is too much. Nigerians can't take another major woeful policy. The poor is bleeding and trouble brewing. Solution....! I read a report recently that the the owner of the BUA cement is now the second richest Nigerian. Oh good.... Right? No, no, no!!! Nigeria has no business with people that wealthy. It is a shame that the average Nigerian celebrates the problematic fact "we have the richest people in Africa". Our economy is a testament that it's even a sin in itself, a crime to humanity and an insult to the average Nigerian. It is unrealistic and ignorant. In other countries the wealthy pay good taxes to the government, in the US the rich pay as much as 40% or more, depending on the state, of the total taxes to the government. Those who leave in Canada can testify. In Nigeria the government give them waivers, the government outrightly use even our personal resources to help these people's businesses. It's an offense. The rich should grow so it can reflect on the masses not the other way round, with such low minimum wage. Dangote have no business being that wealthy, nor the rest. Dangote, Abdusamad, Otedola, Adenuga, Tinubu, Atiku, Arthur Eze, Seuun Osewa, Linda Ikejih, Davido and his family, David Oyedepo, Enoch Adeboye, Paul Enenche, Burna boy, Ibeto, the guy with IVM, Don jazzy, Obi Cubana, every single hyper rich and wealthy Nigerian should start paying more taxes. Not their business taxes alone but their personal houses, private wealth, offshore wealth and properties. The government should stop the preferential treatments and secret payoffs to their businesses, stop the waivers, Nigeria is too poor to have people so wealthy. We have no business competiting with the foreign wealthy people cos our GDP to population ratio is one of the worst in Africa and the world. No wealthy Nigerian has a right to be half as wealthy as they are. The poorest Nigerian buys recharge card, pays for fuel (if they can even afford a car that is), pays for calls, texts charges with the added VAT, buys food stuff, buys cement, building equipments, everything the same prices as the richest. Yet these people benefit the most from the system. That is not how a country like Nigeria should be. The wealthy Nigerian does not pay enough taxes and levies. The wealthy Nigerian should not be half as wealthy as they are. That is how the government can generate revenue. This is not hate speech, this is common sence, this how a government can generate revenue in an ailing failing economy like ours. |
onez:Funny enough even the Nairaland founder, his mods are guilty of this. They will most likely hide the post from view. |
It has been almost 10yrs since this government came to our conciousness in Nigeria, from the APC formation to their eventual win. This statement or phrase has caused us to experience probably the worst administration in Nigeria history cos the statement has been the excuse for non performance, neglect and total insensitivity to the people's cries, demands and worries. The statement has made itself a somewhat valid enough argument for inaction and dividing even the Nigerian people more than ever. Our legislators and Judicial arms of government have been made useless, you can't get justice now cos we have allowed ourselves get tricked by using this statement. When you call them out like in the case of the Banex Plaza saga between a Plateau State indigene and the "code of conduct" chairman, you are called an IPOB so case closed. I too have ignorantly used it on others, others have ignorantly used it on me too. This is it: "You are an Ipob...." This is a very dangerous and divisive statement and this government have succeeded in elevating, the government supporters have used it as a blind fold causing disunity, mistrust and total poor performance or non of it. It was used in the EndSars protest perfectly causing the desired result. People complained when the borders where being closed and it was used again as a perfect "argument" so as to divert attention. Today it is being used to silence obvious, valid criticism, even now with new CBN policies that will push more people into poverty. More people have been called IPOB than even the actual people. Remember we are in this together, we both buy a bag of rice at almost twice the minimum wage. From Zamfara to Enugu to Osun and Benue States we all get attacked, rubbed and killed by criminals and terrorists. I just thought I should say good morning to you in Nigeria. |
Let me use this opportunity to say.... Nigerians should reject the new bank policies, this thing will hit harder than the borders closure. Forget the unending sporadic bank charges, forget the late, delayed, unrecognized, poor internet and online payment. Forget the fact it will slow down economic activities. Forget poor internet security. This policy has no benefit for the average man but all the problems and more. This is not about elections this is about government sucking up revenue down to the very poor person, with very little minimum wage. Nigeria is not a science field and Nigeria guinea pigs or lab rats for testing every wack new and unproved government policy. When they tell you to not worry trust me, that is when you should be really worried. Obi for President! |
Olowoeko11:My man you are not here argue with me and lie not see reason. This is the IRS website, read: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/cash-payment-report-helps-government-combat-money-laundering%23:~:text%3DFederal%2520law%2520requires%2520a%2520person,in%2520a%2520Trade%2520or%2520Business.&ved=2ahUKEwilt7WXmur7AhUT_IUKHdk5Dm8QFnoECAoQBQ&usg=AOvVaw1zObgXvxb6YL2gqtMQfSth They require you report over 10k transactions, they didn't stop you. It is illegal to not report not doing the cash transactions. Pls Miss Olowo Eko, stop quoting me. Find some else to bicker with. Tinubu is not winning this elections. |
Olowoeko11:I have decided to answer you. 1. That is the USA, a more advanced economy. 2. That is only for ATM not for the entire day. 3. You can still use you other ATM cards or do over the counter withdrawal. 4. The levies is not up to our new policies. 5. The USA does not put a limit to how much cash you can transact with in a day. 6. That ATM limit is almost a million naira with Nigeria's current exchange rate. THIS POST IS NOT TO FIGHT ABOUT POLITICAL PARTIES BUT TO SPEAK ABOUT THE THE FACT THE PEOPLE WILL SUFFER AND THE BANK CHARGE WITH POOR INTERNET AND UNDETECTABLE FRAUD WILL STILL DISCOURAGE PEOPLE FROM DOING IT. What you will rather have is lower economic activities. Am I the only intelligentually foresighted in Nairaland? |
Olowoeko11:Sorry this topic is too important for me, I don't answer APC warriors here. |
Olowoeko11:I give you the honor, tell me one country that has banned cash transactions or limit it to this our upcoming extent. I think about the average Nigerian, you guys think sentiment and bravado. |
kingmaster2009:Is cash banned over there? I saw a video of a YouTuber walking us through withdrawing 250,000k in 1 dollar denominator to buy a sports car so as to get the sellers reactions. Why's that? Is even our economy, internet, banking sector there yet? Check "BigDaws" on YouTube for full video. |
chucks185:Let me make this promise to you, I want you to be the first to hear this. This policy will put millions into poverty before this government hand over in may next year. Another one.... There will soon be the highest rate of immigration out this country starting next year than has ever been seen before. I might leave, I know many already planning to. Last one.... From the poorest person in Nigeria to Dangote himself will be directly affected by this policy. You'll see. Let's wait for it. I detest corruption, I made a post celebrating the administration for the Naira change. But this one is a bigger disaster maybe evenore than the borders change. I am thankful we have a stubborn government, so we'll see. |
Olowoeko11:1. Cash transactions is the cheapest and fastest form of doing business. 2. Maybe millions benefit directly or indirectly from the POS businesses. 3. Online transactions attracts charges, who can afford being charged for every transaction made in a day. Not the average Nigerian of today. 3. Already Nigerian cyber space and customer service are very poor. How will people report and confirm fake transfers in record time? 4. Why are we in a rush for cashless when even big economies have more relaxed means. The US or China for example still allow you use cash to buy something as big as a house or as small as a candy. They're still way ahead of us. 5. Nigeria is a developing nation of poorer people, you encourage every legit business not strangulate it. |
CBN's new withdrawal policies states: 1. The maximum cash withdrawal over the counter (OTC) by individuals and corporate organizations per week shall henceforth be N100.000 and N500,000 respectively. Withdrawals above these limits shall attract processing fees of 5% and 10%, respectively. 2 Third party cheques above N50,000 shall not be eligible for payment over the counter, while extant limits of 110,000.000 on clearing cheques still subsist. 3. The maximum cash withdrawal per week via Automated Teller Machine (ATM) shall be N100.000 subject to a maximum of N20,000 cash withdrawal per day. 4 Only denominations of N200 and below shall be loaded into the ATMs. 5 The maximum cash withdrawal via point of sale (PoS) terminal shall be N20.000 daily. A post was on front page asking you not to worry about the new policies. Well you should, this is why. 1. In China, the USA, Ghana, india etc their is hardly a limit to what you can withdraw from you bank (ATM and over the counter). They have a booming online transactions, even more than Nigeria. 2. There are literally tens of thousands on POS operators in Nigeria today. Remember how people used to have stores and stands only to sell recharge cards? Where are they today? That is the future of POS businesses, which is arguably more lucrative and bigger means of livelihood than the recharge card business of yesteryears. 3. Say hello to high fraud rates and fake transfers as a result of the poorly secured, indifferent attention, slow response, even non at all by banks and law enforcers to hackers, fraudsters and dubious people. 4. Many market women, lesser aware and educated business people don't know how to use the online or USSD system of transactions. 5. Many, I mean a large amount of people still depend on cash transactions cos they don't have an account. 6. Online transactions and alert are very slow over here cos of internet, signals exhausted and undermanned online transactions and customer service as it is already. 7. These new policies absolutely, I mean absolutely does not stop stealing or ransom payment cos you will still pay ransom if you're forced to only now you will pay the bank 5-10% of your own money before you withdraw the limit to still pay the criminals. A criminal mind always finds a new way to profit from crime, the majority hardworking individuals are who it always affects. 8. Say bye bye to one of the newest non government supported business and welcome to more poverty, for millions of families, students, and self-employed honest hardworking citizens. 9. If you want to withdraw more than the limit you most pay 5-10%. That's 5 for 100k and 50k for a 500k. 10. You can finally be sure to always pay VAT and the USSD charges for every transaction you make, every. I said it didn't concern me when the borders were shut, I was wrong. I said it didn't concern me when levies were put on 500,000 naira and above transactions, I was wrong. Based on experience and common sense I know the answer to this new "policies". This going to be probably the federal governments single fastest citizens-affecting policies yet. God abeg....!! These are the types of policies meant for state of emergencies or for war times. These policies shut down economies, Nigeria is too poor for these. |
meobizy:Yep, you sound like the perfect candidate, one of those people that repeat what is told them. You didn't say much still, only repeated the question in a different sentence. But the forum deleted my previous post on the issue and Nairaland isn't the best place to talk about it. So lets wait till it becomes too obvious and is no more news. |
Nairaland shouldn't just be a place where you come and get Hot, insult or get insulted and fight over tribe, religion, politics etc. Young people should be able to come and talk about new, mind stimulating things, inspire and get inspired too. Mods should not decide what people see or talk about. |
meobizy:I want to gradually phase out my presence in this platform, reduce my interactions. But let me answer you. All the reasons you mentioned are hogwash. There has been rising cases of healthy young people, of sports athletes too, either dying mysteriously or having unusual heart attacks. These are people who do all the things you mentioned and more. And it's all over the world, and has increased exponentially over the past two years. Some countries call it UNKNOWN CAUSE OF DEAD. There are theories surrounding these recent and fast growing anomalies. But after what I experienced here on Nairaland for bringing it up I am done with this site and you people. |
Seun for a society to grow, for a society to be better, people most be allowed to talk freely and analyse different and new opinions. People shouldn't be restricted to saying only what the forum or government allows. That is what made social media sites a success from the beginning. That's why Twitter is getting more new members and becoming more active, cos Musk has made it free for all peoples and opinions. I made a very important and valid post about the reasons for the skyrocketing cases of mysterious deaths and otherwise healthy people"slumping and dying". Your forum yanked the post off and gave me some hours ban. The amount of censoring going on in Nairaland is on a level of its own. I make controversial posts, but if a society must move forward we shouldn't all think alike. We shouldn't all only talk about s*x and relationships in our society, or music and celebrities. No society moves forward with such mundane, average minded obsessions. Whoever is uncomfortable or threatened by a divergent opinion shouldn't click the post to read it. If we want a productive society we should start mind-stimulating discussions instead of what we're used to. The world is leaving us behind. |
Elon Musk isn't the only one claiming they're after his life. I've watched Andrew Tate say he's being threatened, there was even an attempt on his life which left an injury on his hand. When I heard about the death of Kevin Samuels I knew it wasn't ordinary. It is for the same reasons they want you to see Kanye West as out of his mind and shouldn't be taken seriously. What do all these guys have in common? It is hard to explain in one post, what is even harder is explaining it to this reader about current world events. But I made a post about the war on a world scale that's currently happening. Dig deeper and you will see all these men have the same ideology, very outspoken with millions of ardent followers. But they are just a tip of the entire people fighting these war right in the heart of the Western world. And they're are growing fast. But Elon Musk has taken it to a whole new level. Unlike Trump, he is far more wealthy. He bought Twitter and is lifting the bans on many deviants and nonconformists. He's actively exposing the powers that be. But it shows us that the US would rather an old vegetable in the Presidential Villa, White House, than someone better who is not chosen by the secret powers, and doesn't dance to their tune. Well, killing Musk is a very very bad idea cos the guy's popularity is sky rocketing. He's become a voice to the masses, though a very rich one. He still manages to identify with them. Twitter has added millions of new members since his take over, even I will soon register. Killing him will start something in America and maybe even in the entire West that may have not been seen in a looong time. Definitely not now that the Western populace are literally angry, dissatisfied and very suspicious of their leaders. Let's keep watching. That's what we do over here in Africa isn't it? We watch as things unfold. |
She is back to deceive the people of God. Young Christians about to be misled again. |
Atiku made this post then he found out he messed up then he brought it down. Atiku is in the ballot and want to also be President.
|
I tried to put Aminu Adamu's Twitter post more mildly but it seems deceit is a juicy practice to some. Let me rephrase correctly and without holding back what he said. Hausa words and meanings below; Duk: Anyone WANDA: That YASA: put on WANNAN: This RIGA: Shirt, cloth AH: In BAUCHI: Bauchi State SAI: Most, forcefully MUNCHI: Eat, F*ck, Rape, Sleep with UWARSA: His or Her Mother Full Meaning: Anyone who wears this cloth in Bauchi, we will forcefully f*ck his mother. As Aminu meets the President of Nigeria, as he shakes hands with him and made a hero remember Deborah Samuel. I am a Northern minority from Kaduna State, cowardice, fear, injustice, barbarism, those I do not recognize.
|
My question is, should El'rufai also receive Deborah Samuel's kind of treatment by the Christians for his many utterances?
|
APC is already well Known for taking into custody people who dare criticize or mock them, from the presidency, the Governors, even in the LGA level. Never have those taken away, or as they are used to tagging it "arrested" been released with such speed as Aminu Adamu, the student. I immediately know he will be released the moment I saw his opinion about the brutal, barbaric, senseless murder of Deborah Samuel, also a student. In Hausa there's a popular phrase "Namu namu ne!" It means "our own is still our own". And Aminu Adamu isn't just namu but an outspoken heroic one. For the record Deborah didn't insult the Prophet, she only spoke against the posts being posted on the students' WhatsApp group and rebuked those who threatened her in the Name Of Jesus. Translation to Aminu's post says Anyone who wears this clothe in Bauchi will have his mother r*ped by us. I am happy he's released, criticizing a government is a citizen's civic duty. But I fear such a character in government tomorrow. Sadly, he is just the specimen. I will never forget her. https://www.nairaland.com/7459069/aminu-adamu-mocked-death-deborah

Ttalk:If you watch his videos you'll see some of his own people around him are already laughing. |
I don't know how we got to this level but we will laugh at these and our children will be very disappointed we even attempted to put this man in the Villa. Pure comic relief listening to him, no proper interview for a proper realistic plan, just "I will and more I wills" and "vooote foooor meeee". Never will he speak without confusing and amusing the listeners. But you know what? He want to lead an ailing 200 million nation. God abeg....!! How did we get here?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBJ0fiorqr0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqlJu5Oui6g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_9qixO1z5A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWHAUhdjNGw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGiLud3-QJA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rYMRCrZyFo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Ejsj8jjW8 |
Aemmyjah:Genesis 3:1, NLT: The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LORD God had made.... I am not here to argue and banter with you. When you meet me in politics section there I might have that time. |
MaxInDHouse:Genesis 3:1, NLT: The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LORD God had made.... I wrote "the wisest creature" not being. No where was Satan described as "intelligent" but wise or shrewd. |
Pls be patient and read on. The "Church is the Christian gathering" not a man made building. No no!! The Bible describes the Devil as the wisest creature created by God. While growing up I've asked myself "how can we outsmart and defeat such being then?" But Jesus said "I know my own and my own know me.... when they hear my voice they will gather". But how do you hear Christ's voice? You may ask. His words! He said "I will write my words in their hearts"! Well, if you are a Christian, if you believe the words of God let me tell you, the Devil himself is in charge of modern "Churches". And that is through his Demon called Mammon. Matthew 6:24 Luke 16:13-14. Mammon is the money spirit. It is Jesus who you too claim to follow saying these. Christianity has no business with prosperity Gospel. Matthew 6:19–20. A Pastor claimed if you don't pay your tithe you're going to hell. Where in the Bible is that stated? They lie and twist the Bible to rake in more money for self. Are they even using the tithes the way moses instructed in Deuteronomy 14:28-29? And tithes in the Old testament is not your money but agricultural produce. Yes money did existed, read here Deuteronomy 14:23-27. I will not call out names but your "Pastors", especially the Pentecostal ones all lying to you. They are all after money. That's why they rephace, misquote and requote the words of God the way it suits them, but our God is not a child that doesn't know what he is saying. These charlatans will not change cos some don't even know, others are demonic and some are blinded by the Devil's other spirit, PRIDE. The Bible is literal and the words of God, not your Pastors' interpretation is what you should believe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTfKpAWkgJY&list=WL&index=13 |
When you hear "world war" you begin to think guns and bombs on a world wide scale right? Well I've seen that a world war has started for sometime now and we're all affected without realizing. This war is one of the mind, between Globalists vs Culturalists, Liberals vs Conservatives, the western idealogies vs traditional values. And it is serious. Soon it will manifest in reality. The Russian President sometime ago declared his country is going back to traditional and family values. They are setting up laws to fight and counter the western wokeness. China is doing the same. But this war is not one of only the West vs the East. The Western citizens are fighting back against it too, in their own countries. Elon Musk bought twitter and is reinstating all public and popular figures with divergent opinions previously banned. I mean, the only thing remaining for Elon Musk to do is declare he's Christian or another believe system cos the guy is clearly a conservative and he doesn't hide it. he said he will soon expose the secrets of the platform. Let's watch out and prepare for the shocker. 2024 Donald Trump is coming. The question is, where does Africa seat in all these cultural and ideological war? Cos our docility is on another level. |
FreeStuffsNG:Firstly I agreed with your first post, not completely though. But let us have this discussion: Tell me, how has this government's decisions affected your live positively and longlasting. Then tell me, are you happy with he current state of the nation? Are you satisfied with the ongoings? I don't do personality worship or bigoted following. If the average person on Nigerian Streets is happy I am happy if not I speak out. So should you. |
Naira20:Hahahahahahaaaaaa is that how the so-called stashed Naira is easily lodged? Then I am bothered. |
Naira20:How did did they do that? |
