http://idrisayobello..com/2010/02/nigerians-prayer.html Our President, who art in Aso Rock Goodluck be thy Name, thy promotion come, thine will be done, in Lagos as it is in the Niger Delta. Give us this day 24 hours power supply And forgive us our expectations, as we forgive you for your double promotion Lead us not into Visionless 2020, but deliver us from PDP. For thine is the Presidency, the convoy, and the glory, for now until Umoru returns (if ever). Amen. Idris Bello- February 2010 |
Vakama again? I fear for the future of this country |
$22,500 per semester |
Great writeup. Similar to the style Abati uses at times |
@Sefago You do not need to be supersmart to make a first class in either Nigeria or the US. You just need to be smart and consistent. Now these Asians you mentioned, while some of them are extremely solid in the sciences (maths, engineering, programming), they are very weak in other areas. Equally, they have a very strong support group in grad school which allows them to shine. In summary, anyone who makes a First Class in a good Nigerian university can do the same in the US , provided he is ready to strecth himself to learn and relearn and does not rest on his oars. Chikena! |
Whats the big deal? When I finished from OAU some years back, there were 6 First class students in just my class alone! And they were all worth it. Even most of the folks who made 2:1 would have made distinctions outside the shores of this country! To give you an idea of what happened to the 6 of them after OAU? 1- Msc UCL (London) -now a Manager in MTN 2- MBA- University of Chicago - Now a Senior Consultant with McKinsey 3- Msc-Houston, MBA- Rice University- Senior Advisor with Chevron 4- Msc- Case Western-Ohio- Senior Consultant with Africa Finance Corporation 5- Msc- UCL - Engineer with NNPC 6- Msc- Texas A&M, MBA-UT, Senior Engineer at National Instruments Never underrate First Class students from 1st generation Nigerian Universities! It just requires consistent performance throughout . If you invest effort in it, you will get it! |

When you are stuck in Haiti with no way of cooking your food, you will beg for this rice! |
This is going to be an opportunity for some smart folks! |
Most short-haul flights in the US have snacks for sale, so there is nothing new in this. Why do you even want free food on a 1-hour flight? Last time I checked, they were not forcing anyone to buy the snacks. My only issue is that the snacks are so foriegn. Don't we have local snacks? |
Yeah, ban polygamy, and live your monogamous life in a Tiger Woods fashion! |
Great writeup by Prof Lamykay! |
I am impressed that the guy even has a plan. I am even more impressed that the legislators are smart enough to see through the visionless plan. I suggest they all get nominated for the Nobel Prize! |
I remain amazed at your power of observation, the ability to see salient features, and the capability to communicate them effectively and succintly. I am rarely impressed, but this time, I am in awe! |
@Canuck, I am impressed , not by your interpretation, but your ability to observe salient things in the avatars and communcate them succintly. For each one you have done on this thread, I took a look at the avatar and came to my conclusions before reading yours. In over 80% of the cases, our analysis were similar. However what blew me away was your desciption of all the things you saw in the avatar/profile. Each time , I had to go back and take another look at the profile, and then I would notice the hidden details. I will link up with you privately as we seem to have similar career lines. |
Gbenga should first send his Publicity Adviser ( gb4sure) to school to learn English. Thereafter , we can begin to consider him! |
whats the scores? |
@becominsane I can officially confirm now that you belong to a mental institution. What is the relevance of your post, and why do you find it so hard to compose a meaningful sentence? |

Just google up the guy, and you will find out he is truly an accomplished individual! |
toba:Nigerians! Do you even know what you want? Yaradua is too slow. SLS is too fast! What will people like you say of Obama with all he has done in 9 months? By the way, Soludo already laid the ground for the new naira notes, SLS just printed them! |

Google has committed $10 million to sponsor 5 big-impact projects. One of the proposals has to do with improving education in Africa. This is a subject I'm passionate about. The 5 projects will be chosen largely based on the number of votes they receive. Africa is already at a disadvantage due to our poor internet infrastructure, so every vote counts. I'm asking you to spare 1 minute to vote for education in Africa. Simply click on the link: http://www.project10tothe100.com/vote.html and scroll down to item 10 titled "Provide quality education to African students" then click on the green button "Vote for this Idea". Every vote counts. Please forward to your contacts. The closing date is October 8, so please vote now! ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Project 10^100 <Project10tothe100@ google.com> To: @yahoo. com Sent: Friday, September 25, 2009 8:13:22 PM Subject: Project 10^100: Reminder to vote Hello everyone, It's time to vote! Last year, Project 10^100 invited the world to submit ideas to help as many people as possible. We received over 154,000 submissions, which we narrowed down to our favorites. Now, you're invited to view the ideas and vote for the ones you think will help the most people. Our advisory board will use your votes to identify the best ideas for further consideration, and we've committed $10 million to make up to 5 of them a reality. Hurry, voting ends October 8, 2009. Thanks for your help. Please vote! And may those who help the most win. - The Project 10^100 Team |
Now I understand why he could not go the full lenght of consolidation. He would have stepped on the toes of people he needs to run for election! |
MrCrackles:It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for your guy to do something 'wise and sensible'. For once he did not show us the map of Dayo's location. |
