All Praise is due to Allah, for to Him belongs the keys to all the treasures of the heavens and the earth! To my Dad, who was my study partner throughout primary and secondary school, and ensured I never came second position! To my Dad, who told me on getting admitted to Ife " I finished from Ife in 1971 with a 2nd Class Upper, so if you go to Ife, and get a 2nd Class Upper, you have not done anything new!" and hence I kept a CGPA above 4.5 from beginning to finish! To my mum who gave up juicy medical jobs abroad and chose to stay in Naija with us, you are the world greatest mum, and made all the difference! To my 6 friends in Ife who we all made 1st Class together, thanks for the support and friendship To Deolu Akinyemi who first interviewed me on campus for P&G and chose me out of 500 students, I salute your courage despite our religious differences, and my being dressed up in a Nigerian traditional outfit To Seyi Adeyemo, my manager @ P&G, you always said, "nothing is impossible, just tell me what you need to get it done!" Ko ma lo bee! To my cousins- ASOB & MOB, who motivated me to go for my MSC,and facilitated it all the way, you guys are great! And for my cuurent mentors, Marshal & Kola, you guys rock! |

Cost of living is better in Houston. Also my candid advice, CNA is just for you to get your footing,it is not a job you do for years or raise family upon. You need to focus on education once you have your footing (within 6months-12 months is what I advice. |
@Jarus; but you have now become a big man! I sent you an email about a program some weeks ago. |
The guy actually got admitted to top schools in the US but did not even have funds for the first semester. He was actually settling for an MSC in Nigeria before he got a scholarship from the Ogun State govt and that was restricted to only a few schools in the UK. |

Just goes to show why we never make progress. Just imagine, if Obama had been in Nigeria, he wouldnt have even gotten elected because his father is from a different state/country? Such shortsightedness! Very simple solution- Let Jonathan appoint him as a Minister -without attaching any state to him. I know Segun Aganga somewhat though- and I am not sure if he should even accept the nomination-bearing in mind the ministers have only a few months to work before the next election. He is a very sound guy, who is also very concerned about Nigeria, and has done a lot to mould young leaders through the NLI. http://nli-global.org/ Just listen to him talk on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2xgZ8Bu5co&feature=player_embedded To understand his take on Nigeia's issues and development; read some excerpts from his interview below; http://nli-global.org/wp-content/uploads/NLI_Newsletter_pdf.pdf |
What can these guys do in less than one year? Once PDP selects a presidential candidate in a few months time, the current president becomes a lameduck president! |

@Moderator, What happened to my post on Segun Aganga? |
This is so sad and unbelieveable. Abubakar Malabu and I were close friends while he stayed in Houston on assignment. So nice, and soft spoken. One of the most gentle people I have ever met. I can still picture him with his wife and lovely kids, This is so sad. May his soul rest in piece! |
Vakama again? Can this guy just keep quiet? |
This is the way things should be' public access to the President's medical records! President's doc: 'excellent' health, cut the cholesterol Posted: February 28th, 2010 11:54 AM ET President Obama is 'fit for duty,' a Navy physician reported Sunday after Obama's first presidential checkup. Washington (CNN) - President Obama got a checkup Sunday, and his doctor liked what he found. "The president is in excellent health and 'fit for duty,'" Dr. Jeff Kuhlman, a Navy captain and physician to the president wrote in his report. "All clinical data indicate that he will remain so for the duration of his presidency." The doctor did recommend Obama change his eating habits a bit. "Recommend dietary modification to reduce LDL cholesterol below 130," Kuhlman wrote. The report lists Obama's LDL level at 138. LDL, or low-density lipoprotein, is what's known as "bad" cholesterol, according to the American Heart Association. Kuhlman noted that the 48-year-old president should keep up his efforts to stop smoking. Obama's medications include nicotine replacement therapy. The 6-foot-1-inch president weighed in at 179.9 pounds with his shoes and workout attire on. His body mass index (BMI) is 23.7. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that's in the upper end of the "normal" weight range. "Overweight" begins at 25.0. The White House said Obama's doctor recommended his next physical take place in August of next year, when the president turns 50. |
Though an OAU alumnus, I have been privileged to spend some time at some of the best schools in the US on some research( MIT, Harvard, Rice). It is not the size of the school or the imposing buildings, rather its the quality of teaching, research, and products that matters. Its what contribution your school is able to make to the larger society , and in turn the support of the alumni to the school. Lets all contribute to developing our alma mata, and stop this useless debate over which secondary school is better. Start today by sending journals, textbooks, etc to your departmental library! |
