chakula: If you did not come in defence of your religion who else will represent you.

The case is very simple if the man was there before the church then he has the right to fight for his right and if it was happened that the church was there before him then he can relocate to the silence area simple.
It does not matter who arrived there first. What matters is the laws of the state that restricts what structure is allowed in areas designated as residential and laws regulating level of noise pollution. The church may have been there a thousand years ago, the woman coming in yesterday will still have the judgement in her favour.

As she grows so does her need to eat more. After six months, you need to start giving her solid foods in the like of smashed rice, fish. You can grind carrots and small quantity of banana. Ewedu stew is also good.

But make sure they are in a form she can swallow and digest easily

megareal: Thank God that he spared your life. I would have been happier if something had been done about the guy that was shot. I'ts good to think about people in worse conditions than ourselves. Sometimes God saves us so we can save others. The altruistic nature of Nigerians is fast fading. I hope the poor guy had help on time.
Shared your thoughts. The robbers had left, so why the pandemonium thereafter. Priority should have been given to save lives in danger. Let's not forget the popular story of the Good Samaritan

icebeatz: Fatal can only be used when there is death!!
you should have asked "how bad" was the gunshot wound.... thats in the most basic lay man's term!!

Please no disrespect meant.
According to Dictionary.com, Fatal:
1.causing or capable of causing death; mortal; deadly: a fatal accident; a fatal dose of poison.
2.causing destruction, misfortune, ruin, or failure: The withdrawal of funds was fatal to the project.

Question: Is gun shot not capable of causing death? Would you say Dictionary.com is wrong on the bolded 2 above.

FamilyRe: High School Bullying...A Victim Or The Oppressor? by lond07: 2:54pm On Oct 12, 2012
Clemzy16: ........ However, it'll interest you to know that girls are hardly victims of bullying. This is because they love bad guys, girls love bad guys!. Believe it or not, girls will prefer to date an ugly bad guy in high school than to date a good handsome guy.
But how would one rationalise that?
FamilyRe: High School Bullying...A Victim Or The Oppressor? by lond07: 2:39pm On Oct 12, 2012
mdsocks: Really looking back now, i just can't help but recall all the torment we
made our classmates go through back then in secondary school. We had some sort of clique which specialized in creating and calling our mates names based on their slip or mistakes.

We named them different things from Eso, Agali, Yerepe and so on.
We made jest of them and dampened their self esteem and
courage.

I remembered a colleague turned reclusive because of the fun we made out of him. Lately, I have been reading some thoughtful piece on psychology and i seriously wished i had behaved differently. But all the same, it was just childishness that made us do those stuff but we still do say some things as adults
that really affect others negatively. Am trying my best to help people even if it's just words to at least make up for my bad behaviours in the past.

he questions is were you ever bullied or did u bully anyone? How did u feel ?
The bolded aptly described what I suffered during my early school years (pry 1-3). It made me hated school and had to be dragged virtually every day. Each holiday time was a big relief.

However, change came one day when I cried home to Mum and she scolded me for being to weak. Alas, that gave me all the needed courage to subdue all these bullies. I went to school the following day like a wounded lion. It was then I realised all of them were COWARDS. I don't fight any longer, but I do stand up boldly against it. Trust me the confidence Mum instilled over 30years ago is still there.

On reflection, I will say the bullies are always the cowards.

Bams95: Please people,
what hope do oracle DBAs have in getting jobs in Nigeria?
Is there any prospect in being an oracle DBA?
Are companies in Nigeria really using Oracle at the moment?
and what hope for the inexperienced oracle professionals in Nigeria, because it seems the
very few jobs that are available are for oracle DBAs with years of experience.

please i need your contributions.
Well, like many suggested, you can diversify into programmimg which will be an added advantage to you. I have ACP(2007)AND OCP(2010) but later changed into programming. It's much easier landing a job as a programmer and can as well do well as self employed.

Note however, that your previous experience always go with you. It's an added advantage

All the best wishes

RomanceRe: My Family Wants Me To Marry For Money. by lond07: 5:02pm On Sep 06, 2012
septua: Hi.i am young woman in my early 20s. I have been seeing a young man of 30 for about a year now and about 2 months ago he started talking about marriage plans although he hasn't proposed but i took that as one.

He has rented a 3 bedroom apartment and promised to take me to his parents towards the end of the year. Long story short we planned to get married next year.

I trust him although i fear he might disappoint me as he is still struggling. But 3 weeks ago my people called me home from were i was doing my service to meet a man that has come for my hand in marriage. The man is handsome and wealthy but he is 16 years older than me and that alone makes me uncomfortable. Plus i dont really like him.

we seem not to have much in common,
But my mum and my aunty have been begging me to marry him as we are sort of going through financial breakdown and they see him as a kind of saviour. Plus my mums pastor says he has seen the marriage in vision before now.

The marriage will be done in less than 4 months if i say yes, And if i say no then i will have to wait for my man till mid next year.

So i ask please will you consider your family and go into the marriage or wait for your love.
1. you have not explained why you feared he might disappoint you. Because he is still struggling does not add up. infact when he "arrives" tomorrow, he will forever cherish you that you went through the struggle with him.

2. You do not have much in common.......... you do not really like him. -- You have solved the riddle on your own.(1st answer) Please tell us how you will handle the stuff if the table turns around tomorrow such that The struggler hit the gold mine and the rich man ........huh??

3. Forget your pastor vision. It's a lie. Beside, your family is selling you into slavery.

You can deduce from all the replies the solution to the riddle. (2nd answer)

It's upto you

nuattitude74: Mine was inadvertent. As an undergraduate in Uniben way back in the day,I prided myself as a guy dripping with swag and used to be finicky and stylish in my dressing. I was always a hit with the honeyz and I went after only the finest babes on campus. There was dis really stubborn babe that I was chasing in skool then who was a real hot number. I had put the moves on her and she had began feeling me. During one ASUU strike when school was closed, I was @ home cleaning my room one morning when my Dad called me and asked me to hurriedly join him in his Peugeot 505 car to go get something @ Ring Road ( the centre of town ). I was wearing an old shirt, old shorts and bathroom slippers ( both feet different ! ). The clothes had become dirty because I had them on while cleaning the room. I wanted to change the clothes but my lecturer dad impatiently hooted the car horn and hollered that I should just get into the car like dat adding humorously that there was no need to change into my Sunday best. He said all he wanted me to do was just to help him lift stuff into the car after which we would both drive back home. Na so I enter car with dirty clothes and different leg of slippers O ! When we got to Ring Road, everything went fine and I helped Dad to load the stuff into the Car. As popsie attempted to start motor nah,for where?! Motor no gree start O ! Popsie then asked me to go home. I look myself from head to toe and told the guy that I would wait for him. We got a mekanik who told us they had to tow the car to his workshop. Anyway,I decided to go home cos it was past noon. I cudnt get a bike so I self-consciously walked to where Bikes park. As I was walking along, guess who was coming from the opposite direction !? Chai ! None other person but Osarume, the very babe wey I dey toast for skool ! I wanted to turn and flee but couldn't becos we were just a few steps away from each other! And, she was her friends ! Ol boy, e be like say make ground swallow me dat day ! I was smack bang @ Ring Road the centre of Benin city, wearing dirty shirt and shorts and Bathroom slippers with DIFFERENT FEET ! In fact, I be like craze-man. When we walked up to each other, she greeted me. I was so embarrassed ! I wanted to say something but muscle pull catch my Tongue. One of her friends sniggered as if to imply dat my skool effizy na sham all along! My babe looked @ me from head to feet and said "see u in school" ! Chai ! My hand fall dat day !

frosbel: You do not know what you are talking about.

The UK has some of the best universities in the world other than Cambridge and Oxford.

1. University of Manchester - World Rank 48
2. University of Liverpool - World Rank 181
3. University of Leeds - World Rank 133
4. University of Birmingham - World Rank 148
6. London School of Economics - World Rank 47
7. University of Sussex - 99
8. University of Bristol - 66

The list goes on and on.

Now let us start with our best university of Ibadan which is ranked 2475 not even near to some of the worst in the UK.

I am just trying to correct your wrong impression that only Oxbridge schools are of a high standard.

We have a long way to go.
Well argued. Including the link to your source would have added more credibility and seal the mouths of the ST' Thomases
TravelRe: Life Of A Nigerian Hustler In Picture by lond07: 5:12pm On Jul 19, 2012
deshysmalls: This picture has been making rounds here in Europe, as a 22 years old second year student this is the job i am doing (part time) and i can proudly say i love it.
Not only because i can afford a house and car of my own(No bragging intended), but also because you know there is dignity in labor here and you are treated and addressed with respect irrespective of what you do which severely lacks in our part of the world.
Apart from the obvious, most people prefer these odd jobs abroad because it gives you flexibility and you can possibly earn almost twice of what some people with white collar jobs earn because you can do double the number of hours they spend in their offices during the day, provided you have your permits intact.
So my question to you guys is what would you prefer...
(1)An office/less stressful job with good pay or
(2)An odd job that gives you flexibility plus a possibility to earn more
I am sure the answer will depend on individual understanding/preferences.
In addition to the above, can anyone suggest a legal job an undergraduate in Nigeria can do that will make him earn over 200,000 naira a month and will also not affect his/her studies because here you can earn more.

(Note)I am neither trying to change your mindsets nor get into an argument, but just to give a piece of my own humble opinion on this topic and it is also imperative to know that this is based on my own experience, so it may vary with individuals.
You are on spot on the bolded, but I disagree with you on the second paragraph. White-colar job get class my bother. If you are eligible to work and your job is a technical/skilled job, the pay is miles apart to the cleaning job.

AjanleKoko: This is so simplistic. How is that going to happen?
Why would Mama Nkechi be made to pay, for what exactly? Uncivilized attitude in a largely uncivilized society? Respect can't be enforced in a court of law; it's a function of what the society values. Think about why racism is a crime in Britain, but not in some other nations of Western Europe.

Besides, what exactly would you term 'minimum standard of living' in Nigeria? If a cleaner in Nigeria expects to be paid the same wages as the UK, he or she should head out to the UK to try their luck. The Nigeria of today won't provide that. It's not anybody's fault, it is just the way it is.
Huuuummmmm!!! Its a societal problem
TravelRe: Life Of A Nigerian Hustler In Picture by lond07: 4:56pm On Jul 19, 2012
Fhemmmy: Probably cos of how Mama Nkechi will be insulting and assaulting them.
If the Court of Law could make Mama Nkechi a scape goat to pay heavily for her uncivilised attitude,

* Millions will learn to treat others with respect irrespective of the services they render.

* Millions will be ready to do the job because it will not rob on their ego

The job thereafter will be more respected and uplifted to offer at least minimum standard of living
