PoliticsRe: Rochas Okorocha Celebrates His 53rd Birthday Today! by longayink: 4:44pm On Sep 22, 2015
Okorocha the yo yo politician who doesn't understand that charity begins at home.

Ideato people cry of neglect by Okorocha.
Orlu cry of abandonment.

In Owerri, Okorocha builds new city schools, Demolishes old and build new libraries, New bridges, New Heroes/Ikemba/Parks, New Hotels, New flyovers, Ecumenical centre, New Tertiary institutions, New bypasses, New drainage systems, etcetram - all only in Owerri.

The rest of the state look with awe.
Which school taught Gov. Okorocha that a state governor has the constitutional right to devote 75% of his development in the state capital?

Surprise birthday reception for Gov Rochas Okorocha. Students of Ikenegbu Girls Secondry School burst into birthday songs on sighting the state governor in their school this afternoon
Surprised?
Why wouldn't Owerri roll out the red carpet for Okorocha who in four years poured nearly 90% of development infrastructure from his government on Owerri?
But on election day will the red carpet be opened?
PoliticsRe: Rochas Okorocha Celebrates His 53rd Birthday Today! by longayink: 2:52pm On Sep 22, 2015
Rochas HBD

Side kick Notice:

The largest concentration of Rochas Okorocha voters in Orlu urban lga shall celebrate his birthday. We shall do that on the grounds of Rochas proposed Prince Hotel in Orlu - a hotel Rochas proposed here and cleared site, but never came to be.

We have no more stadium in Orlu for Ogbako and sports activities since Rochas' four years in office - he has since dismantled our newly built modern stadium which was commissioned in 2007 by ex President Obasanjo.

Once again, HBD Rochas.

What a project topic and research with Jona and the Igbos as case study..
Well I dont see any relationship between the two because Igbos has been getting the so called "hate" since time immemorial..
Jonah only happened to come into the crossfire my dear.
Didn't you hear that Igbos betrayed him during election?
Boko Haram insurgency also fueled a lot of "hate" on Jona too.
Babe, your research is not for school library, it is for a lecturer's upcoming book..
More grease to your elbows.
The truth is that many sets of Nigerians outside the Igbo believe that Jonathan had people of Igbo descent managing some important and most sensitive departments in his administration.

And for those sets of Nigerians, Igbo is not supposed to manage important and most sensitive departments in Nigeria's polity and economy, given the history of Nigeria's civil war which if Biafra had succeeded, Biafra would have gone with it the oil-producing areas.

So whatever positive contribution of Jonathan administration was either downgraded or completely seen by those sets of Nigerians as bad.
In other words, there is a strong correlation between the hatred for Jonathan and the hatred for the Igbo.

The lust for crude oil proceeds coming from the Nigerdelta is in the details of the hate for the Igbo, hatred which was therefore transferred to Jonathan.

Can I ask you why most Igbos on Nairaland hates Gov. Okorocha?
If Okorocha had not damaged much of the social infrastructure he met on ground in many parts of Imo state, especially in Orlu areas, when he became governor, he wouldn't attract much hatred like that.

But the man scrapped roads, demolished sports stadium, worsened erosion problems in these areas, and abandoned them since 2012. Residents suffer. People voted him second term out of fear that if he left, those abandoned projects would not be completed.
But it seems Okorocha has taken the second term votes to mean that the people are stupid.

RIP, Sam Okwaraji. You did your country proud.

Well done NFF president, Amaju Pinnick.

Please let Nigerians prevail on the present govt of Imo state to restore the Sam Okwaraji stadium back to the condition it met it in 2011 when it came to office.

below is the carcass of a modern stadium that was erected in memory of Sam Okwaraji by Imo state government in Orlu and commissioned by former president Obasanjo in 2007.

The present state governor partially damaged the stadium as soon as it came to office in 2011 and has left it to decay; no alternative since then.

Mr tambuwal, remember that just as in this very case of Gbajabiamila, what goes around comes around.
Empty threat.
Your domain has no adequate number of votes /political representation to pay back Tambuwal in his own coin.

The 36 states political structure denies you or any group in the south such powers.

Your amala-eating soldiers were asleep when 19 states were proliferated in once one region north of Nigeria, while only 17 states were created in once two regions south of Nigeria. Foul play. No federal country ever used land mass as a criterion to derive new federating units - except Nigeria.

Three senators come from each state, nearly same for HoRs. In other words, the NASS is overpopulated by the Tambuwals and the other northern states they control.

So do the count to know why your threat was empty.

Till March 28, 2015 Presidential election, nearly every Yoruba insisted that Yoruba anger against Jonathan was that Yoruba was not represented in Jonathan government.

But Tinubu and Gbajabiamila fielded Tambuwal from Sokoto state for Speaker position slotted out for Yoruba in 2011, and helped rest of Yoruba ACN Reps. join northern legislators to vote Tambuwal Speaker.

Well Lest I forget, they are the most Sophisticated race in the world. Because they were able to manufacture all sorts of lies and used them to sack Jonathan for Saint Buhari.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Was Held Hostage While In Office – Soyinka by longayink:
For how many more times shall this Soyinka Vs Jonathan meeting be published,?

Soyinka and his group need to celebrate for giving Buhari to Nigeria as president, in a country filled with young and well-educated elite.

Last election, Southwest's Catholic Cardinal, Catholic Bishops, Nobel laureate, Retired Military Generals, name who is who in the South West, joined Tinubu in APC and gave us Buhari after a most deceptive political campaign of falsehood ever heard anywhere.

Why does Soyinka now abuse the priviledge of meeting with Jonathan then?

Let the Southwest and northern Nigeria continue with their pillage of the former Southeast region. But one day Go be one day...

The countries forcefully joined to the old Soviet Union were able to free themselves, despite all the nuclear heads in Russia's control then.

So u don't see it reasonable to have a refinery up North to cater for the needs of the Northern region as regards petroleum products given the size of the country.

And also given that it will provide jobs for people in that area. And recall that there are already 3 refineries in the south.

Why are u people so selfish and callous?
I'm from the South, but with my interactions wt Southern folks, I can say assuming it is southerners that have been in position of advantage since the creation of Nigeria and has ruled for a longer period of time by fiat, they would have totally subdued the Northerners and de-robe them of every iota of human dignity.

Infact u guys would have impoverish them more and make jest of their poverty and educational status.

Selfishness has even made some of u guys to lack sound reasoning.

There are many countries in the world without vast crude oil resources but who has many productive refineries.
Go back to school and learn common factors that determine the location of industries.

Availability of raw materials or cost of transportation of raw materials to the site of the proposed industry is one - most important.

Sugar, tomatoes, etc., are produced in the north. How many industries related with manufacture with those northern raw materials are located in your south of Nigeria?

You can as well suggest the relocation of present oil wells in the south to north of Nigeria in order to make north rich, in order to demonstrate your south's selflessness.

From state-sponsored pogroms against southeasteners in the 1960s to today's army torture of Nigerians, the US and others know this and have been wary of selling arms to Nigeria. It is out of fear that Nigeria will turn the arms against its citizens.

Turning the arms against its citizens is mostly aimed at protecting one Nigeria for the benefit of less than 2% of Nigeria's population. The other 98% remain impoverished.
PoliticsRe: Kaduna Refinery To Save Nigeria $5.33 Million Daily by longayink: 8:21pm On Aug 10, 2015
Let it be.

But never again can any government of Nigeria waste such huge sums of money to dig oil tunnel of about 1000 kilometres from the oil source in order to establish a refinery elsewhere.

Money spent on digging that tunnel was part of the wastes by northern military regimes that left Nigerians with poverty today.

Your writeup is a masterpiece. I'm very honoured to have come across your thread. It is high time Nigerians wake up, the responsibility is left for me and you and not expecting the government, jesus or allah to solve our problems.

First step by getting the right educational resources to read, you can't expect the oppressors to give yin the right education that will empower you to go after their heads.

This is a fqm changer for Nigeria and the youths are to take the front seat. We need revolution of the mind first before the physical revolution can take place. It will enable us identify whom our oppressors are, it will enable us identify the sellouts among us
Which youths to take the front seat, that's the problem.

In the late 1970s, Buhari was federal oil commissioner.

Today, Buhari is to be oil minister.

In the early1980s, Buhari as HoS told youths that they were Nigeria's future leaders, today Buhari was voted by same youths to lead them.

That explains the fact that the youths have been least-informed, short-changed, left poor, powerless and denied growth and prosperity by the Buharis and their successors in military leadership.

Worse, the youths don't understand.

atlwireles:
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.

You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage by destroying men's initiative and independence.

And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.

William J. H. Boetcker
Very sound quotes.

Bring that home to our Nigeria -
The weak cannot lead the strong and expect good results.
The barely-educated cannot lead the educated ones and expect good results.

From 1966 Nigeria up to the about 7 years interruption by late Yar'Adua and Jonathan, the weak had led the strong till today. Note: even if the weak leader employs the strong to help to govern, the bulk still stops on the table of the weak leader.

Nigerians are deceived now with stories of fight against corruption. As if corruption is not in America, Britain, Japan, Switzerland, and other countries with high citizens well-being.

In a good country, it is the police that fights corruption, not the president or prime minister of the country. President or Prime minister is preoccupied with fashioning prosperity programs.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Poverty Mentality Of Nigerians And The Ripple Effect by longayink: 5:11pm On Aug 10, 2015
Prosperity of any nation in today's world depends on the country having a well-educated leadership which can fashion policies that bring prosperity. It is not by leadership that promised to fight corruption. Corruption exists in nearly every country.
When most of Nigeria's electorate made their choice of leadership last presidential election, one needed no oracle to tell that Nigeria's population are most ill-informed and ill- educated. They chose more poverty.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Poverty Mentality Of Nigerians And The Ripple Effect by longayink: 5:02pm On Aug 10, 2015
Worse is that today, Nigeria still remains with the leadership of pretenders to education - led by a president accused of not possessing O'Level certificate.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Poverty Mentality Of Nigerians And The Ripple Effect by longayink: 4:55pm On Aug 10, 2015
More than 69% of Nigerians, including those you believe that are middle-class suffer from abject poverty.
Legacy of poor education system and infrastructure laid by military dictatorship worsened the poverty problems.

Most of Nigeria's population is barely educated. Because even most of those that passed through Nigeria's universities are barely educated.

tobimillar:
On Wednesday August 12,it will be 26 years since our very humble , midfield maestro ,Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji ,slumped and died right inside the National Stadium while representing Nigeria in a world cup qualifier against Angola.
Okwaraji had a PHD in Law and a Masters Degree in International Law also. These academic heights never stopped him from showing exemplary humility as a player. He was always the first to arrive camp from his base in Europe unlike what obtains today that some players are begged to come and represent their fatherland. Okwaraji was known to foot his return tickets whenever Nigeria had a match unlike these days players insisted on return flight tickets from NFA before agreeing to wear the green white green jersey.
Okwaraji was damn too patriotic!!
Okwaraji used to carry some hefty bombs called shots in his boots!
Remember the goal he scored agaisnt Cameroon in 1989- a ruthless, balistic shot that knocked out the hand gloves off the hands the Cameroonian goalkeeper Joseph Antoine Bell- less than 21 seconds into the match. That shot was too hot.
And the penalty he scored agaisnt Algerian goalkeeper, Drid Naser Drid that nearly tore off the net in 1989 too.
So what did Okwaraji get after losing his life on the field of play on that fateful August 12 th, 1989? A weather -beaten statue erected at the entrance of the national stadium complex in Lagos and the N1Million support from Gov Fashola Raji in 2011 to the late player's widowed mother( Okwaraji was unmarried when he died).
Governor Rochas Okorocha approved a road to be constructed across a mini stadium named after Okwaraji in his home town,Umudioka,Orlu in Imo state, completely eliminating any hope of immortalising the gifted player. This is the governor of Okwaraji s state who wants us to take him serious but who has no respect for someone who sacrificed his life for Nigeria!
In commemoration of the death of Racheed Yekini in 2012, Vitorial Setubal of Portugal, the last club Rachidi played for named one entrance gate in honour of their late Nigerian striker,Racheed- something our football ruling body has never done for any Nigerian player or sports star.
I dey wait to see wetin the Amaju Pinnick led football ruling body will do to remember the exploits of Okwaraji, the hero who served this nation with his heart and might- 26 years after his death!!
What about Mudasiru Lawal??
Yisa Sofoluwe??
Racheed Yekini?? The first Nigerian to score in a world cup!!
Ernest Okonkwo the ace commentatorhuh
And so many many others.
Yet in our national anthem we recite......'' the labours of our heroes past...'''
My people, our heroes, till date, still labour in vain!!!
bolded:

This is the remains of the once beautiful Sam Okwaraji stadium, Orlu, built by one-time Imo state governor to immortalize the late Sam Okaraji.

The present governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, damaged the stadium immediately after he came to office.

He later built these ugly blue roofs, perhaps to shelter him and people from rain whenever he visits for political campaign.

Friends of Rochas Okorocha everywhere, please tell him to repair this stadium without further delay.
The law of Karma works.
