As it was earlier reported by AutoReportNG that Lagos Gov., Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared a state of emergency on all Lagos roads and has mandated some selected construction companies to start work on rehabilitation as from today, you can read it here if you missed it.

AutoReportNG has it on good authority that some roads have been selected for urgent repairs and work will begin on this road starting from today.

I actually purchased a new DStv decoder last month. It came with one month free Compact bouquet subscription. Towards the end of the subscription earlier this week, I received a call from a DStv marketer (01 280 6877). I was asked to upgrade to a Compact Plus bouquet for N10,650 in order to get double upgrade to the Premium bouquet. Since I wanted to resubscribe anyway (I actually wanted to maintain the Compact bouquet), I decided to do the upgrade and pay the extra in order to get the premium channels.

I paid the money and went ahead with the upgrade, believing that I was going to get the premium channels. After 48 hours, I was yet to get the upgrade and I sent an email. My email was not replied. I decided to call the customercare to make my complaint. The agent that spoke with me then told me that the promo is not for me as my account was only created in September. I queried her on why the company's marketer called me for a promo that I was ineligible for without mentioning it. When I got the message about the offer, it wasn't explicitly mentioned that it was for old customers ONLY.

My anger now is that I was essentially deceived by the company and their marketers to upgrade even when I did not want to. I do not actually need a Compact Plus (it's virtually the same with the Compact, apart from new sports content which I don't need). I only upgraded because I wanted to access the premium bouquet. I expressed my dismay to the customercare agent and told her that the company had tricked me. The extra money I spent is not the issue but the thwarted expectations that I had. I promised the agent to call out DStv for this blatant misuse of advertisement.

I have also tweeted @DStv, @DStvNg, and @DStvCare on this issue and have not gotten any response. I am bringing the issue here on Nairaland so that all Dstv customers or potential customers can know of the deceptive tactics DStv uses in its advertisement. Before you deal with DStv, make sure you ask them to tell you ALL the clauses because they won't tell you. All they need is your money so they don't care about consumer rights.


I will also forward my complaint to relevant regulatory agencies as well.

My guy welcome. By now you should know DSTv gimicks when it comes to promos. Don't depend on them for anything. If you see fine, on not ignore their existence. I have learnt that. Especially the customer care agents who call to remind you to renew subscription. I had to tell them off years ago that it's not their business if I renew or not they are only interested in my payment.
Apart from Investigation Discovery and C&I. ( Crime & Investigation) channel, I don't care about them. I hear I can get these two channels on Kwese but I'm yet to confirm. I have decided never to be hooked on awoof. I usually renew before my expiration but something told me to wait till the last two days of my package. DSTv bullshit is going on because they are a monopoly. There should be am anti Monopoly law in each sector of private business in Nigeria

The pot holes are getting larger by the day. Before the election, some areas were filled with hardcore around Vulcaniser bus stop on Akowonjo Road, but the rains have washed them away. Lagos citizens should stop all this short sighted voting of incompetent officials especially at Local Government level.

The Abeokuta expressway that was modified to accommodate BRT from Oshodi to Abule Egba by STRABIC Construction company under Ambode's tenure did a shoddy job and the roads and BRT lanes are having pot holes at various bus stops like Cement, Airport, Bolade, Iyana Dopemu after just one rainy season. The company executives should be arrested and made to fix that expressway because the left it in worse shape than they met it. The tar on the expressway before the BRT lane was at least 8inches thick. The tar laid around Dopemu part of the expressway is less than 3 ft thick.

A wise man once said the best age ratio for husband to wife is that a man should marry a woman half his age +7 years. If a man is 35, marry a girl that is 17.5+ 7=24.5 or 25. A forty years old man should need a woman of 27.

This is a case with examples in Mercy and Tacha who are said to be graduates but can't defend their degrees in everyday interact

I have never need a fan of Big Brother (Africa or Naija) but had the opportunity to watch some editions of See Gobe because I was on leave from work for a month and caught on to the characters like Thin Tall Tony, TBoss, Kemen, Efe, Busola, etc.
Next came Double Wahala. I didn't care but became interested after seeing clips of Tobi begging Ceec every night in the first 3 weeks of show or so. I understand Big Brother Naija was about bringing people with different personalities. But I lost interest in the show after Big Brother allowed Ceec to remain in the house after insulting Tobi, his family and generation, dead and unborn simply because he refused her advances for good reason, so that his reputation is not tarnished as a in sexual harassment allegation. Because Biggie spared Ceec for this and because she had a lot of fans who were voting for her to see if she and Tobi could work things out, and some to see more of her vile ways, Biggie was making money from her fans' votes at the expense of decorum and decent behaviour. BBnaija lost points with me here.
Now came Pepper Dem. I only knew of Tacha on IG due to her nude displays and brazen advise to women to commercialise sex , all attributes of a harlots. I saw Tacha in the first two weeks and despised her character after her conflict with Thelma. I despised her even more for violent display towards Mike and verbal assault on Frodd. Mind you, I'm not against one showing displeasure with an act, but don't over do it. By this time, I knew something had to be done. but Biggie kept her in the house for the same reasons because he was getting votes from her fans.
When the opportunity came to restore order, rather than implement the law to the letter and evict for assault on Mike with the tissue and push, he played dumb. Not until Omatshola's coins were stolen and Omatshola threatened other house mates and Ike claiming he can kill , as well as his fight with Seyi.
Biggie corruptly, listed Ike's crimes individually and issued him two strikes, Omatshola one, and lumped all Tacha's three offences as one and gave her just a strike because he was making money from her fans. I will not mention Tacha's violent physical outburst to Joe as it was clear Tacha should have been evicted again her but corruption came to play.
Unknown to Biggie, he was playing himself. Tacha was growing over confident like was spreading wings like a virus to the point of replying Biggie's questions with questions, insulting Ebuka the host and sponsors outfits.
It took the physical altercation between Tacha and Mercy and the comments of social media, ex housemates like Khloe, Kemen who released screen shots of the BBnaija rule book to pile pressure on Biggie to do the needful act of evicting her.
Even after her eviction, Tacha is being rude to organizers by not granting interviews and returning used sponsors wigs that were given to her new because she felt entitled and should not be evicted. Imaging challenging, organizers. Even insulting housemates for nominating her when she too nominates people. rather than her fans to advise her to change her ways, they encourage this prostitute behaviour you see in blighted societies and failed states.
Luckily, her fight with Mercy was between two females, two bleachers, two runs girls both body shaming each other. If it were to involve a guy, Biggie May have evicted him on grounds of gender discrimination.
My friends, Big Brother is like a country. No one is above the law- rich or poor, educated or not, male or female. Interprete the laws consistently all the time. When you bend the laws, it gives room for exploitation which bleeds the society economically, socially, politically.
Since Tacha left, house mates are happier and interact better, the power dynamics have changed that tells you no one is indispensable, money will still be made by Big Brother. Tacha added nothing to the show except, fights, insults, nudity and body odour with poor hygiene all evident in an society that has failed and plagued by corruption. She did not rank top 3 in any of the house contests or challenges and only one when she was in a group with serious people.
The BBnaija brand has taken hits on its integrity. big Brother should rest the show for next year and if he still wants to proceed with it, bring responsible adults to the show not part time or full time harlots who show their full attributes to the extent of disobeying organizer.
I hope Biggie has learnt his lesson. And young ladies, you can trend without being vile, foul and slutty. You just have to be strategic. Make your point and leave. Look at Cindy that was seen as local, outlasting and out-winning so called sophisticated babes Venita and guys Joe
