^^^You write off what they did to us during events leading up to the civil war as 'rather unfortunate'; what of what they did to us during the civil war; what of what they did to Akaluka in Kano; what of what they did to those poor youth corpers after the 2011 elections; what of all the countless other evils they've been committing ever since this boko nonsense broke out.......you call all this just 'rather unfortunate'?

You would rather all this is kept swept under the carpet so this fraud of a country can continue stumbling along in the dark! If we don't learn from our past mistakes, but just pretend they didn't happen, then we're bound to repeat them again and again! All that is needed for a truly united country to emerge is for everyone to admit their mistakes and apologize, and with restitution paid where necessary; but we all know that ain't gonna happen!

To get an idea of just what the Hausa/Fulani think of you (since you claim to be Igbo), why don't you see the youtube video on the xenophobic and divisive statements Ahmadu Bello made about Igbos! You also realize there's a documentation of proceedings in the Northern House of Assembly during the first republic in which the members where debating on how to curtail Igbo businesses in the north and stop selling land to them?......When i read this i was horrified! The only reason they're tolerating your 'nyamiri/infidel' arsse in their region is because they want 'one Nigeria' with all the benefits that comes with it!

I don't hate anyone, but i'll be damned if i keep quiet like you while my people are being slaughtered and threatened in any part of this country....a country they asked to leave, yet were forced back into with millions of lives lost in the process! I say it as it is!!
With all due respect, what you narrated is your story from your own angle as it suits you. But you fail to realise that something actually triggered the whole events that led to the civil war which in all honesty i don't want to indulge in it. Don't forget also that a northerner has his own side of the story that probably made him a victim at one point. Moreso, it baffles me when only Igbos claim the most victims in an event of crisis. Other tribes suffers too but chooses to bear the brunt. You can't tell me that northerners in the east prior to the civil war didn't suffer similar fate? This happen and we are not pretending it didn't, but we have to learn from each others mistakes and make correction. By the way, I am Idoma- Igbo from Igbo eze north L.g.a of Enugu state.
PoliticsRe: Donald Duke As Apc's Presidential Candidiate by Lordlexyy: 12:06pm On Oct 13, 2014
Who ever is clamouring for Duke obviously doesn't mean well for Apc. Ideally, he stands as one of those towering quality, track record wise and physical looks offcourse that should easily gain him acceptance across the country. But the hurdle lies with the politics of tribe and region couple with the level of low exposure, illiteracy and mis information among the electorates. Nigerian voters are framed or wired to believe that a presidential candidate most evolve over time to imprint his name on their minds. Antecedents alone are not enough. The party involve also play a greater role if it is the ruling party. Duke may make a good head of state, but the mindset of Nigerians is yet to take the lead and responsibility on who should govern them instead of surrendering th worl for some self seeking politicians, failed politica party and some greedy youths who have turned themselves into a tissue paper fit only to wipe arses. Until then, vibrant, experience persons like Fashola and Duke will remain irrelevant not when bag of money can buy plenty votes and electoral rigging is still a norm and the judiciary has become the chief perpetrators of electoral crime.

I just feel sorry for your type!
What happened was rather unfortunate, but i think we are re-writting history now with the experience on both sides of the divide. You need to imagine being born here to appreciate how homely it is. Being on the other side, it's easy for you to pass judgement, but most people here would have no other place to call home like this place. Religious or ethnic differences and violence can happen any where irrespective of where you are.

Well spoken! i was born in kaduna got married here. I can proudly say this I CAN'T live in any state is Nigeria as side this state (Kaduna). i see so many people running their fingers typing nonsense about the north. I am a southerner, so dont begin to think if am one aboki. what i expect people living in the south should do is ask your leaders your so called governor, senators and co to stop embezzling your money and put it into developing your states. Mind you only in the north you travel over 200 - 300km and there is no single pothole. grin shocked.

Our only problem now is this MAD GOVERNOR huh what's that his name Yerembarassed doing nathing well! we are voting him out God help us only if they don't rig the election or APC file the lousy one HELLrufia.
Bless you my sister. I was born and i live here even though originally i am from Enugu state. The state has given me so much comfort and prosperity that any time, any day, i regard myself a kd boy. I looked forward to contribute my quota to the state as God permit and not being an ingrate to speak ill of it. I don't know about other states, but kd remain one state that discrimination remains almost zero. Nobody bothers where you are from as far as you don't indulge in criminality. I fell much at home that i have forgotten about where i came from. I believe, that is the spirit of unity and onesness which the north must be commended for.

You talk of Kaduna as one backward state. What is not beautiful or serene about the state? Residentially, you have U rimi, malali, barnawa, u sarki, u dosa and many developed parts presently springing up in the southern part. Business wise, from kakuri, sabo tasha, station market down to the main down is booming. You called it a dream killer, in what sense? That you now probably lived in abroad just made you one out of several millions who had live and studied in various places in abroad and are back living comfortably in the same state. A dream killer, yet a home to tens of thousands of igbos who only remembered the east on 24th and 25th of December. I don't know why the Igbos of all tribes in Nigeria are the most boastful. The state that has given you so much for 31 long years, is now a dream killer. Your bigotry knows no bound. That's why every where people complained about your attitudunal problem. Always trying to show off when you have nothing to show. Is not ingrate like you we need in kd. Kd remains land of the educated and peace irrespective of the unfortunate religious crises which both parties are learning their mistakes from.
PoliticsRe: Ekiti Court Closure: APC Propaganda Exposed by Lordlexyy: 10:20pm On Oct 11, 2014
anonimi:
Ekiti Court Closure: Document Shows NLC Absolves Presidency, Says Judicial Workers On Strike

Contrary to insinuations in some quarters that President Goodluck Jonathan ordered the closure of courts in Ekiti State, the state’s chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has said the continued closure is as a result of the ongoing strike embarked upon by public servants in the state over unpaid salaries and allowances. angry

The NLC was reacting to a statement by the All Progressives Congress (APC), which through its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, accused the President of ordering that the Ado-Ekiti High Court Complex be sealed off until the Governor-Elect, Mr Ayodele Fayose, is inaugurated.

In a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, the NLC State Secretary, Comrade Ade Obatoye, warned politicians against reading political meaning to the issue and stop having the impression that the strike and the recalcitrant posture of the workers to resume work was political.

The NLC stated categorically that the ongoing industrial feud between the workers and government also affected the Judiciary Staff Union
of Nigeria, which it said accounted for the closure of courts.

It said, “We want to state categorically that all workers in Ekiti State, which include the members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria could not have resumed when the demand for payment of two months salaries and other arrears and deductions have not been met by government. shocked

“The impression that workers in the judiciary were being locked out due to certain directives from the Presidency was not only a falsehood, but also unfortunate as we have embarked on indefinite strike before the arrival of the security personnel who now manned the court premises.

“It is equally imperative to state clearly that we have never been involved in political drama that is ongoing in the state. What we are concerned about is the welfare of the workers, hence our resolve to embark on the strike after several attempts to make the government understand the plight of our members in the face unpaid salaries and allowances. shocked

“We want to also inform the public that the Chief Justice of Ekiti State had earlier ordered the closure of courts premises for protection of lives and property in and around the court even before the strike commenced, and the CJ has not reopened the courts till date.

“The Chairman of the state chapter of JUSUN, Comrade Niyi Ogundare, has also corroborated our stand that the court premises was actually closed two days before the commencement of the strike, hence, court could not have resumed work under the present situation,”he said.

It would be recalled that workers in Ekiti State have been on strike since last week over the non-payment of their August and September salaries as well as deductions from their July salaries. shocked

Heavily armed security agents, comprising soldiers, police and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps had since Tuesday took over the Ado-Ekiti High Court Complex over apprehension that some judicial officers were planning to commence Fayose’s trial secretly, despite the fact that the state CJ has not officially reopened the courts.

The National Judicial Council (NJC) that intervened in the crisis rocking the state judiciary had last week ordered that security be beefed up at the complex.

QED!!!

Perhaps their "solid ideology and manifestoes" is to owe poor hard pressed workers their salaries & allowances sad
This incident may be an exception and subject to debate. Nevertheless, the wanton recklessness and impunity at the centre would be ridiculous to place side by side with your unproven offences credited to Ekiti gov't.

Strong, grounded ideology and manifestoes followed religiously by members of a given parties make the party what it is and not the members in the said party. As to my "over do" support for this FEDERAL administration, it is based on the FACT that it has done BETTER compared to previous federal administrations and most, if not all state governors and LGA chairmen as well as the DUBIOUS personalities jostling to replace the Jonathan/Sambo team. If you want to debate this fact let me know.

Nevertheless, if you go through my posts here you will find that I criticise the federal administration when I deem necessary, including opening threads to that effect.
"Done better" than previous gov't can be interpreted in several ways: monumental corruption, insecurity, infractural deficits, insensitivity (Inyaya in retrospective), state pardon to criminals, school strikes(the longest in history) et al. But if your 'done better' connote infrascrutural strides which i believe you are alluding to, i will advise that you place side by side the volume of money or revenue accrued to each successive gov't viz a viz their performance. I dare to ask, is there a single project today by this gov't that wasn't started or left uncompleted by previous gov't? So, what's new, Mr. anonimi? The much talk about rail line wasn't exactly a new project, and a country as resource endowed like ours should ordinary have gone beyond a medieval locomotive your gang made a habit to form a chorus with. Same applies to the roads. The Federal universities though commendable, remains largely questionable as to it intent when the existing ones are bereaved with lack of finance. Also on the universities, the few structures i saw with respect to the one in kogi state, for a first time visitor, he will think is a community secondary school. Mr. anonimi are you still there.

Yet, we can't convincely say that the opinion and views of some folks here reflect the entire perception of all Nigerians. That being said, in every government, you can't wave aside the possibilies of moles, illiterates, misinformed and outright tribalists who will counter facts and truth that oppose their pre-conceive interest. Without fear, judging from recent events politically and how it affects us as people, it is glaring the section of the country that has thrown caution and objectivity to the dog on issues of importance like the ones you mentioned. I follow comments here, and it is quite embarrassing how someone in a bid to sound defensively intelligent, actually shows up the true intent that characterised the region he comes from. Whether we like it or not, this forum captures the mindset of what average Nigerian thinks. The trending rhetoric now is to tag any contrary opinion to the suppose way of thinking as Apc. I don't know where they got that from but obviously, it isn't funny. Op, once again, i appreciate your analytic commentary, but the idea of lumping the whole Nigerian into what you described above is unacceptable and i request you tender an unreserved appology. Thanks in advance.

The fact that you apparently have reasons to believe that GEJ may lose the elections next year is yet another feather to Johny Boy's already brimming hat.

His efforts in designing an environment where elections are meaningful and where the "I" in INEC actually means independent is even more important than his already monumental economic and infractural achievements.

I am happy that the vast majority of Nigerians realize these unassailable achievements and recent polls indicate that a landslide victory is a forgone conclusion.
A case study of deploying battalion of gun tauted mask men, i suppose is your idea of a free election? An election with an appearance of intimidation on all front cannot be adjudged as fair. Maybe you were not informed what the Apc chiftains went through in the hands of security operatives in Osun. Example of this reckless display of power and might by the pdp abounds.

Insightful! Most unfortunate is the sharp tribal and religious divide this gov't has engineered among Nigerians which to me stand as the only legacy of this gov't and ultimately, the all powerful instrument for pulling the string, even when the element of a failed party(pdp) is there staring at us. What is there to celebrate? Is it the said projects that does not justify or near what we generate as a nation? Those shamelessly clamouring for his second term are doing so on the basis of tribal or regional reasons, not necessary because the gov't has performed some kind of wonders in their dormain. Pity is how the supporters justify the corruption indices of this government and that of the past gov't as the reason for re election, and i ask, are they not the same pdp gov't?
