Igbo sold their political destiny long before now. The massive endorsement and support they have given to past and present leaders is an indication that they are just there be use by the highest bidder. Absurd comments like " Gej till eternity", leaves much to be desire by people who are suppose to know better. The naivity they played politics has turned them into a puppet that can be easily manipulated. Not even the Ijaws that own Mr. President has stood down so low in their quest to canvas for the President second term like they Igbos are doing. There's life after Mr. President's second tenure. What happen after that? You go about making enemies of all regions on the basis of having Mr. President returned forgetting that tomorrow you may seek same support from others. What goes around comes around. The continuation of this nonesensical slogan will further show that they igbos have forfeited the dream of ever producing a president. |
It is evident by this pronouncement that the judiciary is finally picking up the pieces of its inglorious days. I believe that lady, Merilyn Ogar will be silent and made to understand her folly of unconstitutionally harassing law abiding persons. And to the pdp folks, this is a lesson not to celebrate lawlessness. |
cuteboy2: Simple truth without too much grammar: The fact that a governor is in party X, doesn't render that state an X party state. Try to stay on topic. Again, go and confirm the truth at Ekiti.Isn't it senseless and absurd on your part to accuse Tinubu of corruption while you have Federal gov't paid EFCC completely handicap doing nothing about it. Isn't this imaginary, unfounded allegation an indictment on your gov't who knows all about this and does nothing. Which ever way, the bulk stops at the president's table to deal decisively with anyone found corrupt whether party man or an opposition no matter whose ox is gore. Failure to do that amount to promoting and defending corrupt practices. |
englishmart: How much bribe did efcc get?Ask your principals. Pdp stooge! |
Aegon: Continue living in bitterness over Jonathan, Nigerians are not fooled by the absolute negativity and sensationalism of the opposition. It doesn't enhance your credentials as a party. The office of the President is the highest office in the land and should be held as holy ground regardless of the occupant. A.P.C. and their co-travellers have no right to aspire to produce a president if they cannot first show some gentlemanly respect for the sitting one and the high office of the presidency. And how has Apc discredit or ridicule the office of the president? You blind supporters will stop at nothing to tie about any lies and false claim to Apc party. If pdp government is found to be doing well, Apc wouldn't find cracks to accuse the ruling party. Most of the things you called ridicule are actually the rots in the gov't that Apc is mere trying to expose, and at best, conscructively, except your meaning of disrepect has another definition. |
Sincere9gerian: Your problem is IGNORANCE. What do you about what it takes to manage ebola? You think everything is politics? Even your master, Fashola, knew he could not play politics with ebola. People should just ignore your senseless and ignorance laden post.Since you know what it takes to conquer ebola, why don't you counter him with a strong rebuttal instead of this usual line of rhetoric. The guy clue and insight as to how ebola was contained, but people like you that sees no evil and say no evil will do all it takes to discredit area or person that credit should be given. I won't be surprise if you at this point begin to pull false facts after your ego has been badly bruise to score cheap likes from your army of frausters parading as patriots. |
shift15: It is the leadership role of the likes of the Cardinal that brought us thus far. Many Christians from the North are applauding Oritsejafor for standing up for them. Majority of the churches in the North are just getting building approval and C of O because of his stand for Christians in Nigeria. BTW how many times have you seen anyone moslem speak against Sultan? Are you not aware that the Sultan is also an ally of GEJ and he flies private jet too?I agree with you on the role Papa Ayo has played so far regarding the voice and attention he has drawn to the plight of Christians most especially in the north, something all Catholic bishop played lips service and politics with. That, i don't agree with the Cardinal on the personal attack on Papa Ayo. But on politics with respect to leadership quality, corruption and the general governance, you will agree with me that man has shed some truth in it. My joy is that, he didn't exonerate anyone so that he would not be accused of siding one part of the divide. He appears angry which every man who has been around this long like him should, with the general impunity, corruption, lack of appreciable development, mediocrity and what are few. He just dish out the truth like it should. I think any well meaning Nigerian ordinary shouldn't pick offence except he is directly or other wise benefitting from the gov't wastage with very minute to show for it. Ordinary, i think we should evaluate the political relevance of his comments and inspect it under the microscop of our reasoning and see if it align with the harsh reality on ground. Don't forget that this man has seen it all and wouldn't be saying all this for any reason other than for a genuine concern for the survival and stability of our nationhood. |
keypad1: if you can go to the deep northern community and know things about other tribes or religion and their stance on it. If you can do that and get feedbacks from them. Weigh it then return back to me to drop down my statement above. And i will do it.Does it really matter what northerners think or plan? My concern is that we drop this religious fanatism and focus on what matter the most, which is identifying the right candidate whom the cap fit. Surely, not all northerners have evil agenda against our statehood, and even if they do, they can't out run the power of our collectiveness, standing on one purpose and ideology, which is the mentality of a detribilise and performing gov't. Don't forget also that the north comprises of not just the hausa muslim but also large tribal Christians. So don't fret about the north. |

shift15: The cardinal was the President of CAN for 8 years. What was he doing as CAN head when there is no church in the North that has C of O for their land? What did he do when El-Rufai revoked allocation of Catholic church in Central Area, Abuja for no just cause? What did he do when the government was using Nigeria resources to build National Mosque while Ecumerical Centre was lying waste? It took the effort of Rochas Okorocha and Obasanjo under Bishop Sunday Mbang as CAN president to build the National church, what was his role in the 8 years of CAN President? It took Sunday Mbang to stop lopsidedness in Pilgrim sponsorship in Nigeria, what role did he play? It is on record that no single church in Abuja has C of O for their church building until recently, what role did he play throughout his boastful good 8 years as CAN president? When we cross the brige to his leadership role, we would talk about it. Now, we are talking politics and the failure of leadership occassioned by multiple corruption cases and poor handling of national affairs as regard security and general development. What's your take on that? |
keypad1: if buhari or atiku or kwankwaso wins the presidential election next year then the islamization of nigeria will come immediately.Don't be blind with religious bigotry. Who is talking about islamization? The retired bishop has just spoken the truth. There is no area of national and religious importance he didn't touch. It is left for us the populace to decide whether we want an islamist, thieves, weak and corrupt people to govern us. He didn't spare anyone. The very truth we have itching to hear was what the Bishop delivered. So please, don't promote any religious war here. The best candidate irrespective of his party, tribe or religion is who we must gear to vote for. This message obviously call for a review of our value as a nation and should serve as a point of unification, to close rank, put aside partisanship and chart a course that we've all dreamt of. Anyone who object to this truthful saying must be marked a saboteur and a terrorist. |
kel4soft: Lenme be done with this Arsenal vs Spurs match. I will reply you back.Sorry for the Arsenal lost in advance. Blue is the colour. |
kel4soft: What is this so called money accrued to the region? Can we analysed?Same excuses about terrain. How much does it really take to develop those areas? They youths in Delta protesting know very well that the derivation to the state is enough to tackle the infractural deficits and salaries of workers. I may not know the actual figure here, but i have read some where, where it was alleged that Federal gov't allocation to Akwa ibom for instance every half of the year being an oil producing state surpasses what is given to all the south east states put together. Put these figures side by side with the expenses made on some developed projects and salaries of workers and you will get the feelings of those youths who asking the state law makers to impeach the Governor. |
kel4soft: You erred when you said wastage is common with the south south Governors. How do you mean?Idealy, if the mega box accrued to the region alone is judiciously used taken into consideration its small population and land mass, i bet you another Singapour will be up in the making. |
atlwireles: Allow the youth leaders ask their questions, the state of delta will explain itself and if there any short comings, those involved will be held to account. Your personal worry should be your pathetic country Nigeria and your own state, not delta state and its youths. You forgotten so soon that Delta state is also part of this country and what affect Deltans affect all indirectly. If they youths get it right through our collective support, be rest assure that other state governors will sit up and work. We must all start the campaign against impunity and corruption from somewhere, and these have taken the lead and we must support them which ever way possible. |
atlwireles: You people use words you don't understand, what's the meaning of myopic in this contextYou simply choose to understand what appeals to you. You rather direct your question to the F.g just like the youth leader is asking the Delta state gov't for accountability into the wastage of trillions of naira without an equivalent development of the said amount. |
atlwireles: Most of you sit on this forum and rant nonsense. Your country Nigeria has kept over $2T of the SS stolen resources, can you point out what you did with it?Don't be myopic in your judgement when the truth is staring at you. The article is about the wastage of resources that is common with the south south governors especially Delta state. You complain of the theft at the Federal level while ignoring the rot at your background. I wonder what the situation in the Niger Delta will become if the oil revenue is no longer forth coming. Instead of you to canvass for a change, you are here defending your thiefing politicians. |
Such a shame how some people will still drum up support for these corrupt elements in our society. Very huge allocation these south south governors receive from the federation account, yet with very mediocare and laughable development to show for despite the small land mass and population. No one among these state governors can be said to have performed if we consider what they receive. If track record matter to us, even the incumbent president should be asked to provide document record on achievement when held sway as governor of Bayelsa state as a pre-requisite for a reelection, but unfortunately, such civil call may be taken as an attack on the president. In the develop clime, even your private life is brought under scrutiny to ascertain your fitness for a public office. I support the agitation of the youths and i hope they will sustain it until justice is delivered and for those accusing them, you ought to be ashame of yourself. |
cooljude: I just asked my Dad. We are from Nsukka. He attest to the fact that it is a mixed village but it is a traditional Nsukka town. He said most of the other tribes migrated from their original settlement and any Igbo person would know that ndi Nsukka are very hospitable people, they welcome strangers with open hands and their were lots of inter-tribal marriage between this groups. That is why you would see a mixture of Igbo,Idoma and Igala. State your own point if you feel otherwise. That's my community and you are absolutely right. Ette is purely an Nsukka town. The intermarriage between the three tribes you mentioned is largely responsible for this crisis. Also, a large portion of the Idomas and Igalas who migrated there years ago due to the proximity of ette community and their villages contributed to this mixture. |
jacabi: No weapon that is fashioned against Nigeria shall prosper.Every weapon fashioned against my great Nigeria shall be destroyed. God indeed is on the throne. He neither sleep nor slumber. He has set the camp of the enemy in disarray and total confusion. A thousand may come against us but they shall flew in ten thousand directions. |
pazienza: Unfortunately bro, ethnicity matters and ranks ahead of Christianity( a foreign religion) and Nigeria( a colonial anomaly).Perhaps to you. But i value my spirituality above all things. Reasons for the sharp contrast and division among people in Africa. Reason why every issue of importance has been politicised because of ethnic differences. Reason for the almost very development because tribal interest. I careless about tribe or ethnicity. Those who carry it on their head are not any better than me, why the glorification as if my life depend on it. |
ekolina: I can see u are also benefiting from the Enugu setting. How can you say those wanting to join Kogi are the minority. sincerely want have you benefited from Enugu can you even be bold enough to say you are Enugu when you go outside that is your school or work place. How can you people allow greed take over your hearts. You are confuse. First, i personally benefit nothing from either of the two states. Secondly, you don't decide where you belong. Geographically, we are in Enugu state, we didn't choose to. Thirdly, you don't choose who is more Igbo or Igala. They people can decide which side they want to belong base on natural inclination or sense of belonging. They have have lived and thrive successfully for many years independently without the government. So, if you think all of this is to attract attention from the Enugu gov't, you must be mistaken here. Needlessly to say that, it's the same Enugu gov't right from Jim who have been lobbying to see that we remain as one in Enugu state. |
pazienza: I see, i guess this would be the reason i do get this feeling that you are not really Igbo, when i read your posts. Eventually you would have to chose to be Igbo, Idoma, or Igalla. There is no siting on the fence, you are either Igbo or you are not,it's as simple as that.It doesn't matter. I don't glorify one tribe over another. Individual assessment matters most to me. Whether i'm Igbo or Idoma, it add no value to my person. I remain where my people are most comfortable. If majority feels Enugu is ok, then i don't have a problem. Beside, i am first a Christian, then a Nigerian, other things come far behind. |
Etteh is my community. Boundary wise, the community is situated in Enugu state. In terms of culture, it has very little in connection with the Idomas and not the Igalas. The language spoken are predominantly Idoma. Igbo language comes second for areas that are regarded as igbos. Igala language is meanly spoken by some few who believe they are Igalas. To be honest, the Etteh community ideologically believes they are Igbos and has very little in connection to both the Igalas and the Idomas. You find most of the people there speaking the three languages fluently and intermix very well. This whole crisis of identity wouldn't have surfaced in the first place if not for some of the Igbos and their culture of segregation, where others are regarded more Igbos than the others. The same people will say Enugu or Ebonyi is not pure Igbo but 'wawa', some Enugu will say Etteh is not pure Igbo but a mixture of two. If Etteh was long embrace and made to feel among by the Igbos, none of this cultural conflict would have surface. Those minority group wanting to joint Kogi are doing so because they felt they majority are more recognised and therefore benefit more from the Enugu gov't. Inspite of the upheaval, i believe the brotherliness and oneness of Etteh is beyond culture, language or tribe. PROUDLY ETTEH. |
Anarchy is inevitable when pride, arrogance is exalted above submission and followership. The exaltation of the war lord as the symbol of struggle, resistance and self actualisation will remain the mark of failure, desperation, isolation and bitterness for generation unborn, only and except the tide is changed and a new heart of humility and submissiveness is born. A people deceived to believe to be above others. Such self delusion is a mirage that is destructive and catastrophic. |
GozieDiora: I have never been an advocate of PDP leadership. And I also agree that APC's motives could have been pure. But I am strongly of the opinion that the manner in which they pulled it off is irrepressibly egregious. Departing unceremoniously from a socio-political gathering has never been known to be a solution to political conflicts. Their main aim, which I believe was to make it known to the public that the decision did not go down well with them, has been impinged negatively. Acting in such a manner breeds the fear of napoleon leadership amongst the masses. See it this way; if they had gone ahead to commune after the meeting and then publicise afterwards that they wouldn't accept the outcome, would PDP internet warriors have had enough points to propel their argument now? What some of us don't appreciate is that a little mistake on the side of one political party simply waters the ground for the opponent. I repeat, APC might have had a good motive but they pulled it off woefully. Opinionated though.Like the guy above you said. What would you have the opposition do in this scenerior since it is obvious the ruling party were bent on frustrating any debate on the alleged scandal? Going to the press as you suggest to register their discontent wouldn't be good enough way to demonstrate their grievances. No action taken by the opposition could have been good enough like what they did. I understand your gentlemanness, but this a serious national issue that demand whatever it takes to have it debated and trash out. I don't think the behaviour of the opposition is anything questionable as you are subtly trying to paint it. We have witnessed physical brawl in other countries among their legislators in matters not as important as this. |
drstone1: Any one who knows the History of the Church of Rome should not be surprised at their shenanigans. They turned a blind eye when the jihadist were attacking the eastern orthodox church until the islamist attempted Rome via spain. It is a well known fact the Pope of Rome wAs active in backing Hitlers holocaust. ....Somehow it is becoming clearer to me that the cAtholics have several things in common with moslems especially with their dubious pacifist nature to terrorists. All through out arabia and the levant they have been subjugated, haunted, harrased and forced to eat the humble pie. They do this while putting on the garb of supposed saintliness.Exactly, all the years they saddle the leadership of CAN, it was religious politics as usual. Christians were been maimed and killed those years up north without a stiffer reaction or condemnation from these so called priests. They rather dine and whine with the muslims all in the name of peaceful co-existence. No CAN President has been as active as Papa Ayo who has taken seriously the issue of Christians frequent attack by the muslims. Little wonder why every anti penticostals and catholic hypocrites will spare no effort to smear Papa's reputations. Big for nothing pharasees who politicised matters that affect the body of Christ. |
@mko2005, thank you sir. That was quite insightful. I was initially among those who climbed at Papa Ayo, but your right up just made me realised my mistake, and i appologise. I think, the burden of oppressors in collaboration with the muslims against the body Christ largely are the catholics(no prejudice pls). It became easier when the baton of leadership as CAN president was taken from them, a position they believe was their sole right. The unnecessary call for Papa's head which is hinged more in politics rather than a protest to find the truth is nauseating. If anyone should be question, it is the gov't and not the man of God who is going about his legitimate business. There's no better time for Christians to come together to unite against their perceived enemies like this trying period. Those who are gloating over the involvement of Papa Ayo cos they are not Pentecostals shows they know very little what Christianity truely entails and are surely doing a great disservice to the body of Christ. |
We all know it will come to this. I hope the gov't will cooperate with the Us. My only fear is the position Dss had already taken regarding the whole allegation. How do you completely exonerate someone without being investigated? At this point, that spokes woman for the Dss should be sacked because with people like her, those alleged to have stolen in the good book of the pdp will aways be shielded. |
O0XYGEN: Am yet to see any nigerian gal without a shapeless appearance. Seriously eba ain't good for them but they're just blind to see.Now you realise how immature and senseless you are. The average Nigerian doesn't give a single thought about ghanians if not for a forum like this. Why do you cause yourself unnecessary headache over people that give little concern over your existence? I swear, football and nothing else is the only time we remember ghanians. We have far more important issue to think about. You will realise that so far, very few Nigerians this days responds to your shallow, childish and low self esteem comments. The few i know of ghana, i love them but please realise that economically wise, land mass, exposure and so, we know our equal and those we are gearing to surpass, definitely not ghana. If the Gdp of Lagos for instance near that of the whole ghana, what are we talking about? I don't mean to take a swoop at you, but this your ranting is becoming rather too disturbing. If you say you have the best accent in english language, is ok, you won. What's the essence of bringing it to a public dormain? If you are troubled by how ghanians were chased out of Nigerians, we appologise. Lets move on. Pls. |
Terrible i must say. Everyone is aware that the war had no reason to drag this long, not with the Nigerian army that i know but for some individuals benefitting immensely from the upheaval. Why won't the head of state know if obsolete weapons were repainted and given to the soldiers? One functional fighter jet for a country as great as Nigeria. This whole episode has really revealed to the world and shed more light that after all, all the indices on corruption that independent body levelled against the gov't isn't a hoax. I pity the NA and pray that God protect the innocent ones who stick their neck to save this great nation from the insurgents. |
Thank you Jesus. They enemies are gradually bowing out. More of these insurgents will further surrender if the military treat the surrendered ones with leniency. But killing them will send a bad signals and discouraged those intended to give up the fight. I will rather say, treat them as prisoners of war not brutally but with care, and the others will be guaranteed of their safety and lives upon surrendering. That is the tactics and strategy of winning the trust of unwilling and forcely inscripted yound men into rebellion. |
