byrron: SENSELESS.Says you, being one of the guilty few who enthroned mediocrity above meritiocrity. We must rise above self interest and educate ourselves on what true governance is. We can't conceal selfish agenda that seek to benefit us while we pretend we desire people like Fashola. We mustn't forsake the need to thrive on an ideology of selfless, incorruptible leadership in our quest for a more qualified presidential candidate who does not promote division along tribal and religious line. |
masseratti: Mark the next president after Gej,signed and sealed.I agree with you. Such a shame how politics of interest has robbed us of value. The senate is best an extention of the excutive. Nothing of interest comes forth any more. |
voltron post=/post/26831669:The Idomas are not in any way complaining. They are content and not really those who boast in their achievement. While Mark is doing his own thing, millions of Idomas are also making individual progress. In a nut shell, they don't exactly need Mark to make their mark. You got the drift i suppose. |
ROSSIKE post=/post/26786902:And what do you call all the money generated these years from past to present leadership? Not sufficient enough to filter down to the masses i guess. The pre-requisite to ensure the masses benefit and participate actively in an emerging economy is for investment in infracture be made a key policy and priority. Until that is done, billions will be realised and embezzled without trace. |
voltron post=/post/26831239:If you care to know, i am Idoma-Igbo, but i remain largely detribalise. |
voltron post=/post/26828547:Smh. What a waste! Same man and many other Idoma folks will feed your entire lineage and all biafran kingpins. |
thwarrior72: Op get it into ur empty cranium....u can't fight for Nigeria & succeed, it will amount to effort in futility. Nigeria is not a nation, but country made up of nations. We don't believe in one thing, neither do we have a common destiny or aspiration. We are divided along religious and tribal linesWe are not as diversified as Indian or China, but good leadership happened to them all. Having a single tribal nation wouldn't still guarantee success if leadership is questionable. We must condemn bad leaders and those that come to the public to sing their praises. |
UchihaMadara: I don't understand why everybody is saying that it's time for the Presidency to "RETURN" to the North.Carefully take time to pay attention to the tides of politics on ground and you will realise that the underline scheme has been tilted to favour northerners, that sadly is the overwhelming perception of many. And that is in my earlier submission, i did said it is an unfortunate mindset to allow some few politicians to have our thinking and mind so sckewed and twisted into accepting a political arrangement they have carefully manipulated and played into our psych. Sad, but that is the harsh reality. Blame illiteracy, misinformation, docility or lack of proper exposure, but we all have a role to sanitise the Nigerian minds about the need to value merit above the governance of selection. If you ask me without being biase, this is the role Apc is trying to play by exposing the rot in government and given the opportunity to make their choices carefully. Having said this, most brethren from the South east(no prejudice) have shown support for a campaign of impunity currently rocking the boat of the nation. We can't demand a change when a section of the country would see no evil or hear no evil in this present gov't. |
Fashola, though saleable and appealable, but the present political calculation that obviously should favour the north(regrettably, Nigerian mindset), will not guarantee him success, couple with the manipulative tendency of the ruling party and twisted minds of those who believe that returning Gej back is their sure bet to have a shot at the presidency. The hypocrisy and regionalism of our political land scape that ensure that certain people whether they are qualify or not be choosen, remain a great hurdle for refined mind for the likes of Fashola. We must work on ourselves and ensure that we put aside politics of clannishness before we ask for the hands of Fashola. With patience, he will get his shot, only when and if we are ready to accomodate and appreciate men that has what it take to make the change we all yearn for. |
MaziOmenuko: ICPC put together bogus charges against him because he insisted on the pdp zoning as he tried to defend his signatory to a document GEJ denies its existence. This sounds reasonable. He may have stood against the power blocks that insist to discontinue the gentle man agreement they had on power rotation. |
tonytony208: can you now see you are truly a hypocrite? I guess your churches also teach you hypocrisy aside special teachings they give you on arrogance and prosperity-by-all-means even if it means "giving unto ceaser what belongs to ceaser (bribery), just like pastor TB did.I won't condescend to the level of name calling. Nevertheless, I used the phrase 'insurbodination' not necessarily to malign catholics, rather to display their inability and unwillingness to be a subject of a pentecostal led CAN President. I hold no personal grudges against what you choose to believe, but your hatred for the penticostal is apparent in all your write up. You claim boko haram is not just a muslim affair, to that i don't have anything to argue about, since evidence before us shows their ideology and campaign is purely islamic. While i agree that not all muslims are in support of the jihadist, it is commendable to praise the role the CAN president had played far to urge the U.s congress to tagged a terrorist group, one of the very reason why we have received international intervention and attention against the terror group. Those are some of the pro activeness expected of a CAN President which Papa Ayo is playing. I bet you, the Catholic CAN president may certainlly have said that the haramittes are our brothers and go to sleep. You don't play brotherliness while your house burn. I will rather not talk about what traspire btw his air craft and the dollars found in it since there is no proof to link him with the alledged criminal deed, but i will remain eternally grateful for using his good office to correct the injustice done to Christians and to put a stop to whatever agenda the muslims are conceiving against us. |
tonytony208: first off, pls keep your hypocritical shalom to yourself.I understand how deeply pained you feel over some personal views, but the tension flaring is clearly unnecessary. I would rather that we keep the discussion as civil as possible without resorting to personal attack. First, you must be able to prove doubt what makes it illicit for an individual to lease out his property for commercial purpose. Secondaly, to your unending question, is on record how Christ critise and condemned the pharasees who are the pro type of today's muslims and their practices which is what Papa Ayo is currently doing. Thirdly, i am finding it difficult to relate with your insinuation that Papa Ayo has divided the both religions with his resistance. My question is, were the two faiths ever in harmony? The fact he made certain remark against the incessant attack on Christians unprovoked not just the emergence of boko haram, should be commended. But insurbodinate folks like you will still find excuses to accuse him. Just the catholic, every other Christian especially in the north, had never feel more optimistic like we do now. Say what you want, one thing is certain and that is, Papa Ayo will remain CAN President until his tenure is over and also he has proven he is not a coward that will allow islamists run the affairs of this nation unchallenged. |
Speculation over the death of shekau though a welcome development, hope there's any truth in it after all. However, i can't bring my head to think that a sizeable part of Borno is still governed by the Islamists and the military is waiting for them to come out. I just don't want to imagine the trauma and agony the innocent Nigerians under their rule are going through. For those who may attack my comment as anti government. My expression is a feeling of concern for my fellow country men and women. Death of Shekau or not, at this point, we should have gone beyond the activities of terrorists holding us to ransome in our own soil and territory, not after the much taunted bravery act our military was perhaps known for. And this should be a reference point why candidates for presidency should be appraise or examine or quiz base on this. Is immaterial when and how the insurgency started, what is important here is; to what extent have we curb the manace and at what cost. For example, i can't imagine country say South Africa leaving side by side by terrorists and yet pretend everything is fine. Even Kenya bordering dreaded El shabab will never allow any part of its territory to be balkanise by the arms men. While we celebrate the recent gains of our military against the insurgents, we mustn't forget that we are in a sorry state of anarchy with almost no functional gov't. |
profjustine458: Useless write-up. OUK was given the MON awardI wouldn't be surprise if you turn out to be his sister or one of his many mistresses who benefitted from his loot. Nevertheless, no amount of image laundry or MON is good enough to resurrect him politically. He is one bad sour loser that will remain forgotten from the corridor of power. If i were you, i will redirect my energy while it last to something more meaningful than coming here to awaken a dead horse. |
tonytony208: yeah, you "true" Christians are united. You are so true to the extent that pastor Chris has become a divorcee. Your "unity" and "trueness" to Christianity has not stopped your pastors from committing fornication and adultery all over the place. What is the purpose of your unity? Is it for earthly strength or heavenly salvation? You bunch of hypocrites! Will it interest you to know that pastor oritsejafor renting out a private jet for commercial purpose is illegal? Am sure you are too arrogant, brainwashed and blind to reason this out.Quit being judgemental Mr tony. And i most say that the insult doesn't portray you in a good light of the faith you profess. For the record, the adultery scandal hanging on Pastor Chris was mere speculative but i will allow you to choose what to believe. However, irrespective of your obvious hatred for the pentecostals, i am not here to discuss or condemn any church, my concern is to defend Papa Ayo from any imaginary and unproven crime levelled against him by enemies both within and outside, which i view as an attack against the body Christ and to promote the very positive role he has played among northern Christians in given us a stand. This i maitained is in sharp contrast to the domicile leadership role played by his predecessors. What ever your grudges against other believes outside of the catholic doesnot change the very positive effect and contribution this present leadership has recorded thus far. Shalom. |
tonytony208: yeah. Oritsejafor withstood the muslims to the extent of asking xtians to fight back. Now, mr Pentecostal xtian, do you think Jesus Christ would have made the same utterances if He were CAN's president? I mean the same Jesus that said you should turn the left cheek if your enemy should slap you on the right cheek. Do you know what Archbishop Onaiyekan did when he was CAN president? He was fasting with muslims during the holy month of Ramadan in line with what apostle paul said that "i am everything to everyone THAT I MAY WIN SOME"! I suspect you have torn that part away from your bible. The only part you read now is the part where Jesus asked his disciples to buy sword; because that part sounds ok to your itching ears.Well, it sounds ok for the cardinal to break fast with the muslims while Christians up north get attack by their muslim neighbours. Papa Ayo never advice anyone to pick up arms against his fellow muslims, but his comments many atimes is to remind the muslims that the Christians are aware of all the unprovoked killings, something none of the former CAN president ever did. Papa Ayo actual made us realise that the Christians are not cowards but patiently following and abiding by the injunction of the bible. We are not surprise at this blantant accusation against the man of God since it is clear that the muslims and catholics have always been best of friends. But, may i remind you that the emergence of Papa has greatly unite we true Christians more to realise we are never push over, an opposition and spirit the catholic CAN presidents lack and couldn't give. |
And to think that most of the unverifiable attack is coming chiefly from most Christians especially Catholics, is most unfortunate. They have team up with the unbelieving muslims, athiests and traditionalists to ridicule the man of God. How do you accused someone whose property he rented was used for dubious business? It doesn't make sense to me. Papa Ayo was known to have withstood the tyranic rule of the muslims especially in the north against Christian through public utterances. Christians in the north will forever remain grateful for given them a voice and a stand against the muslims who believe they can walk over them unquestioned. This is a feat that none of the catholic priests leadership in CAN ever achieve. We are solidly behind you sir, in prayers. God bless you. |
Was the civil war really necessary? The same people you said were after your lives are the same people you live and thrive successfully among. Success is relative. For every successful Igbo man there are thousands of Igbos languishing in poverty, in jail for criminal deed, in drug trafficking, in prostitution, in ritual murder, in kidnapping, in robbery and what are few. Let's stop this egocentric attitude that make us feel superior to others. I doubt if there are any tribes who don't have successful and failed people. Beside, what Igbos make up in trade, other tribes make up in education. Also, i have not come across any tribe going cap in hand to the Igbos for ration. I personally observe something that seems strange to me. The last time i was in Kaduna, i notice that after command secondary school along Peugeot junction, most of the beggars there apart from the Hausas, the rest are Igbos. Anyone who lived around there can confirm. I didn't say this to dispise any tribe, but i said this to say that, no tribe is perfect, we are working toward perfection. |
cocoduck: You are a f00l, what slum are you talking about? makoko?Bro, the insult is needless, the guy aired his views base on what he knows and you are also entile to do same. Back to topic: Respect like someone said is earn and not give. The many years of misrule and unsettled politicking has fixed us in a spot that other country make jest of us. Those south Africans came basically for spiritual reasons and nothing more, while you have a torrent of Nigerians flooding there and other nations because their livelihood and improvision is far better than what we have. With the status of the nation, and all most everything to our advantage, it takes mediocrity to remain at the level where we are, hence the mockery from the world. We must stop making excuses and face our challenges. |
sunday0008: Hey, good day am emmanuel. Am here to let u know that you can start making yogurt from your home and make income for yourself. byrron: My response to u was a reminder that both parties are in government but one is the ruling party. You have a point there but earlier you made it sound like there are no good breeds in the Apc while you try to lump them together with folks in the pdp. We don't have to agree, but i will be interested if we channel our critism to politicians currently saddle with the affairs of of the nation. You mention Tinubu and Atiku as if they are the only people that ever grace our political land scape. It simply shows where your resentment actual lies. The central gov't is powerful enough to charge and prosecute any individual it felt has tempered with the national treasury. An so, the inabikity of the F.g to do the needful should not be assumably used to crucified the opposition member. Until you tender any court ruling that undermine the credibility of these ones on the ground of corruption, you will not be doing justice to outrightly condemned the opposition members along their pdp counterparts. |
Oh, how i love this man. Calm, gentle, humble and simple. A refined gentle man. I hardly miss his sport programs on Ait. He is born again i know and i believe he is presently resting in God's bossom. |
byrron: The last time I checked, PDP & APC has states controlled by their parties, they have state house of assemblies controlled by their parties and they have members at the national house so which of this parties is not in government? The Apc governors that you love to vilified have been adjuged to perform remarkably putting them side by side with their counter parts from pdp though not perfectly. My involvement isn't necessary to absorb the Apc public servants of any wrong doing but i am more concern about the two and the quality of their governance. But i believe the arguement of Asiwaju Tinubu focuses more on the central government where major and critical decisions that affects the various regions are taken. And the point he highlighted should be of concern to us all instead of the unwaranted attack on his person. The central remains the reason why we still exit as an entity hence the need to be decisive who we patronise to assume that exalted position. |
byrron: Name the party that is not in government and who are the members in these parties that has not being in government before? The last time i checked, the federal gov't comprises virtually of pdp card carrying members, and so bundling the Apc and pdp in the same wagon of corruption when the former is never in charge, is incoherent and a deliberate attempt to give false excuses why pdp should continue with their impunity. |
byrron: PDP= APCHow do you judge a party that is not in gov't with unprintable names. |
Not just the common sense of revolution but the actual, physical revolution if pdp led gov't will continue with its tribal and regional politics of exclusion capable of tearing the union built over time across the geopolitical zones. But the regret is the level certain youths have degenerated having been bought over with pea nuts to believe that the crumbs called development is the best the ruling party can offer at their detriment. The choice is ours to either allow ourselves to drifted over by lies of imaginary transformation agenda which could pass for mockery in other clime or take our stand and try something and someone new. We can't afford to do same thing and expect a different result. Is not about Apc is about a change everyone of us yearn and deserve. |
Sentiment aside. Of the things he said, were they true or false? The pdp gov't left too many cracks that warrant bashing from every side. There's a way of minimising the influence of the opposition if you get the people behind you through people oriented program but when everything seems out of joint, why won't you have an opposition that will take advantage of the many opportunity you are offering her. I support the attack and every utterances of the opposition if at the long run the pdp led gov't will see reason to start doing what is ideal. |
Remarkable: I agree with your comment, but wanna ask you about not ever producing the president (Igbos, that is)....Negative. But that will amount to sidelining yourself from certain decisions taken at the centre, decisions or issues that may rob positively on the region. Also, it could amount to generalise perception that the Igbos are never fit or untrusted to assume that level of leadership. It is a psychological feeling that may hunt generation unborn. |
mikeansy: Ekwueme fought for civilian rule and was shoved aside for Obasanjo who was a prisoner!Even at that, the level of politics they Igbos are playing is very much predictable. How do you neglect the importance of building a regional political structure to endorse another party(ruling party) with your regional party championing the campaign? Who does that really, to a level of creating disunity with other regions who could be a source of help or back in the future. For what really? Handing over? The stomach? Political appointment? What? These are your right and you need not sale your self worth for it if you understand the dynamis of politics. Nobody is against adopting the candidature of Mr. President, but they Igbos gave out everything leaving nothing behind. |
maestroferddi: Spare your tales of woes to whichever nationality you hail from.So much for too many crap. |
