FashionRe: Michelle Obama In An Outfit By Duro Olowu by Loskee(f): 11:06pm On Aug 30, 2013
uh, nice try duro olowu, but honestly the dress is too busy. too many semirelated to unrelated floral patterns on one dress, she looks like an old maid just did some expert handy patchwork with material pieces.
michelle obama has a peculiar shape. sexsy in its own wonderful way, but even the best of designers are yet to hit it when it comes to getting her a statement wardrobe ensemble. i wish she gets a few designers who r really interested in making her look good and not just advertising their names.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Abortion Okay In Protestant Churches? by Loskee(f): 11:00pm On Aug 30, 2013
Syncan: Honestly, I feel like I detect sarcasm in your post above, however I want to take your last sentence as true and just respond.I do not claim to be an authority in any of the subjects I stated,I rather referred to the Catholic Church and her teachings, that's why I study and submit to it when it comes to issues like this. for those more knowledgeable than me on the issues have done the hard work already and still does in debates. Now on Abortion, your stand is practically same with the church and I noted this earlier. With respect to contraceptives, one point.Essentially, God has designed marital love to be both unitive(Gen2:18 ) and procreative(Gen1:28 ); to suppress or to violate either one contradicts the design of God.Nevertheless, we have witnessed the proliferation of the use of artificial birth control in particular. What has consequently evolved in society is a contraceptive mentality, the removal of conjugal love from the Sacrament of Marriage, and in many cases especially outside the context of marriage the reduction of conjugal love to simply a sex act without genuine love. Pope John Paul 11 adds that "Sexuality too is depersonalized and exploited: from being the sign, place, and language of love, that is, of the gift of self and acceptance of another, in all the other's richness as a person, it increasingly becomes the occasion and instrument for self-assertion and the selfish satisfaction of personal desires and instincts. Thus, the original import of human sexuality is distorted and falsified, and the two meanings, unitive and procreative, inherent in the very nature of the conjugal act, are artificially separated: in this way, the marriage union is betrayed and its fruitfulness is subjected to the caprice of the couple. Procreation then becomes the 'enemy' to be avoided in sexual activity...".
i apologize if i sounded sarcastic in any way, but honestly u sound like the pope. was this a latin article translated to english? sounds really formal like u r quoting some constitution. i am asking for your views, and not that of the pope.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Abortion Okay In Protestant Churches? by Loskee(f): 5:06pm On Aug 30, 2013
Syncan: Exactly why study is important for sound judgement on issues. The Issue here bothers on Health and Moral. For health; Medicine, and for moral;Theology. Sis, you were able to understand the catholic church thus far because of the knowledge you have in medicine and your possession of some basic theology picked up as a christian. Frankly speaking, where you find difficult to understand is the theology aspect. If you understand that people will even attack your level of pro-life out of ignorance, then you will appreciate the fact that you may be wrong still to attack the extent to which the Catholic church took its position on those areas you found uncomfortable. Find time if you desire, to read up from the net, the catholic positions on Abortion and contraceptives and why she stands by those decisions. It is good to know the truth...just like you did in the health angle...and it shall set you free. Bravo so far.
and so, dear Syncan, highly knowledgeable in the 'theology' aspects of abortion, pray tell ur views and ur truths on abortion and the use of contraceptives as unsentimentally and as reasonably as possible. i love knowledge, and i stand for what is true, fair and just. thankyou.
FoodRe: Foods We Did Not Like As Kids But Now Like As Adults? by Loskee(f): 4:55pm On Aug 30, 2013
i have never been much for selecting food.
beans PORRIDGE was an enemy of the state to me until some years ago. but i never had a problem with plained cooked beans which i loved eating with stew or just salted since i was a kiddo.
fish also was my boko haram then, but now i can consume a whole point and kill with no need for a padi to gist with grin
daz all, essentially.
PoliticsRe: Is Namadi Sambo The Best Vice-President Nigeria Has Produced So Far? by Loskee(f): 4:33pm On Aug 30, 2013
i am a kaduna resident. ...........
what i have to say is that, namadi sambo only tried pitifully to step into the footprints made by gov makarfi when he stepped in as governor. even then, his impact was not felt. it was the late Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa who made the most impact since Makarfi, as evidenced by the functionality of operation yaki, the locomotive train brought back to life, transportation, electricity and tarring of the inner streets in the southern part of kaduna (which had long before now been neglected, left out and sidelined when it comes to allocations).
reliable sources say that 'ARCH' namadi sambo approved a number of projects quite alright, while the frog-eyed Yero was the state commisioner for finance (yero is now kaduna state governor) but the projects were awarded to the wrong guys for the job. they ate the money and delivered nothing. now, yero has been sambo's boy when they were both running the state and awarding million dollar contracts to quacks, which caused the state to run into debt with little for sambo to steal away from the treasury. now that sambo is vp, he is ensuring that all that money stolen by the quacks is given back to him thru his ever loyal yaro boy Yero. that is even why yero is never on seat, he is always in abuja, hiding away from kaduna whose money he is stealing under the auspices of his oga at the top.

all i can offer to this is NA WA OOOOOOOOOOO!
ps.... the ARCH is in quote, because i heard from reliable sources that he doesnt even have a bachelor's degree in architecture. the farthest he got was a measly diploma and he is soooooo quick to stamp the ARCH title to his name. mtcheeeew.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Abortion Okay In Protestant Churches? by Loskee(f): 3:57pm On Aug 30, 2013
i am a Christian, and i am not a roman-catholic. i am also a doctor. and i would like to share my views on the subject being discussed, albeit without the religious undertone, to keep from sentimental comments.
first off, i acknowledge that life begins at conception. i do not subscribe to termination of life. thus i may be termed 'pro-life'. however, as a medical practitioner, i have to use discretion in explaining what i mean by being pro-life.
take the instance of a girl raiped by as many armed robbers u may want to assume she was raiped by. if she presents to me within that time and up to 72 hours later, there is all i can do to ensure she is safe and free from infection and unwanted pregnancy from the unfortunate act. apart from giving her the emergency examination of her body and private parts and treating for infection, i will go ahead to do an ultrasound scan to ensure there is no immediate sign of growing fetus (which of course is virtually impossible within this time frame). and i would give her the 'morning-after' contraceptive pill as well as the anti-hiv drug regimen. if she comes later but an ultrasound scan still shows nothing present, i will still give the same treatment. but my pro-life begins when i can visibly see even the tinyest littlest detail of life in her womb. apart from treating for infection and giving anti-hiv, all i can offer is counselling.
then other scenarios where the continued existence of the pregnancy is already threatening the life of the mother. u may want to google MOLAR PREGNANCY for instance. in such a case i wont hesitate to operate the woman and take out that bloodsucking mass from her womb, whether or not a fetus is there. and if the life of the fetus is affected as a result, at least the procedure saves the mother who, in a later time, will be able to conceive again all things being equal.

all i have said indicates i support the use of contraceptive methods to prevent fertilization/conception in the first place, which is the furthest i can go. but u see, the catholics wont even hear that u used a condom or morning after pill to prevent unwanted pregnancy, only the highly unreliable Billing's method, claiming u shouldnt alter the natural course that God Himself designed. they say se.x is for procreation, but does that mean u cant have se.xual pleasure until u r ready for another kid? if it is so, then u shouldnt even use Billing's method, because it means u r trying to enjoy se.x outside of its 'intended purpose'.

take home summary:
-i am pro-life up to the limit of established growing pregnancy.
-i am FOR the use of all forms of contraceptives to PREVENT (NOT TO TERMINATE) unwanted pregnancy.
-i would take into consideration how much it threatens her life, in order to save her. note though, that my considerations will not cover emotional or psychological or other sentimental condition. counselling can take her thru those ones.

GRACIAS MES AMIS!

Baba we thank You
For what You have done
We remove head-dressing
Ajuwaya praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!

God has been good to us.
Personally I thank God because it been a year of experiences, of how the world and its people can be.
I have had highs and lows, ups and downs. And when I say downs, I really mean the depths of hell.
But thru it all, God has lifted me up and caused me to ride on my high places. He never failed me, and I know He will never fail you too. Just trust in Him. It really is a cruel world out there.
And to the mighty 2012 batch B, pioneers and trail-blazers of the NYSC section of Nairaland, I personally send out my sincere and heartfelt ⌣»̶·̵̭̌·̵̭̌✽̤̈̊Ŧђɑ̤̥̈̊п̥̥̲̣̣̣kƨ̣̣̣̇̇̇̇✽̤̈̊·̵̭̌·̵̭̌«̶⌣ for being there all the way to the very end (well, including those who by omission or commission have not kept in touch with the house via this thread, , phonecalls or otherwise). I still hail all of una.
Time, space and chance may not let me mention everyone who have contributed immensely to making this thread the most lively pioneer thread ever, and the first of its kind. But in everything, I doff my cap to 9-zeros our CEO (although he sha did some serious ghostings during nysc hahahaha), shygal the firstlady, abbasufi (batch c but started this lively group for and with us) and every other member of the house. Not forgetting sigba, bukkylois, silat our aunty, anitank, bj88, ms_steph, flairlady, teteyaks, psoto (batch c), kinnad, omicron, naijaobi, ujchief, dennisbee, deanantony dean of anatomy lolz), tunnex, tunaprex, anuz, moshoodn, t.stone, okoya, gombs, oweniwe, odicowest, contra, vincent4 (the notorious), and many others too numerous to mention.
God bless you all in your future endeavors.
Please endeavor to drop ur contacts, names,  pins, email, phonenumbers.... Anything and evrything to keep staying in touch.
Happy parade, and ensure u lift ur certificates high in the sky. We have served our country well, all by the grace of God.
ONE LOVE!!!!!! Loskee!

tunaprex: The MD of my PPA thinks its too early for me to pass out. I informed him about 2 weeks ago that all batch B corp members will pass out on 6th of June and also told him about the terminal leave. He blurted out saying he has not received any notification from NYSC as per date of passing out that I have to bring a letter from NYSC and if I go on leave he won't pay me for days i didn't work for. That was it, no congratulatory speech like a normal employer should do, no questions about future plans. Its a private establishment and I'm the only corper there, infact after I redeployed to the state, i mistakingly struggled to fix myself there hoping they'd treat me well cos of the promises the MD made. I am being poorly paid (as per corper standard) but despite that, I gave my best while working there, similar job description & work schedule as their regular staff who sometimes relax just 'cos there's a workaholic corper ready to do it all. I never had any issues with any of the staff. They are not happy that I'm passing out so soon, they're enjoying the cheap labour. Now that I'm about leaving, I feel exploited. My only consolation is that there's a bright future ahead of me, many great opportunities to tap into. I'm so done with NYSC, thank God!
Tunaprex, shey u r a doc? Eyaah... Me I'm in a comprehensive health center. And I'm soooo flexing my leave. If I want, I fit show help them with some patients. They understand with me here and they have been really appreciative of the efforts I have put in so far. Yes I'm not paid as I should either because they claim the lga is poor, but I thank God all the same that nobody is giving me headache. Shikena. Where r u serving?

mykejones: lol..Loskee, to your teasing question. NO. We ain't the first guys getting NYSC discharge in this forum, but we are surely the guys that gave NYSC a name and a stay on NL.
Common guys, our closeness and the way the threads was manned made Oga Seun create the NYSC section.
We don try jooor!

So, yesterday, I proudly announced to the VP of the school I was commencing my leave immediately. I left the school around 10:30am yesterday, and this morning, I got a querry. An official querry. Wallahi! Not funny!
Query? L̃̾‎L̃̾ÕÕ̾Ô=Dcheesy=))winkÕÔÕ̾L̃̾‎L̃̾ is it not u that said that leave is after POP? Leave won't work for u because u said it's after POP. It only works for those who believe. Hehehe.
Meanwhile na true about the nysc thing. We owe it to 9-zeros and the entire crew. We did it! Kudos y'all.

Pls keep ur ngwongwo in an aptly-designed men's briefs, made with cotton material. That will even make u forget for a while that u have a weight down there. Its just that our 9ja men just don't like to wear pant, only boxers that are as loose as the trousers they wear... What's the point ni?!
