walegon:Hello Walegon, As at when I travelled November 11th 2022 to Dublin from Nigeria using British Airways (BA) covid19 test was not required coming to Ireland using British Airways ( note, I am 100% Unvaccinated), and you don't need a UK visa unless you are entering the UK. Kindly check BA website for latest information. You will see documents required when checking in or booking your flight. Kind regards , Louis |
Humphery01:Hello Humphery01, Congratulations on your visa approval. There's an attic ensuite someone moved out of 8 days ago in Clondalkin, Dublin 22. Check the distance if the location is ok for you. Use Google map from your school to the two bustops close to the house. 1. Park view lawns, stop 4534. This bus 69 comes every 1hr. From the busstop to the house is about 4minutes 2. St John's estate, stop 4672. Bus 13 comes .every 10 to 20minutes. And it is 10minutes walk to the house. The Attic is furnished and ensuite ( you have your own toilet and bathroom) . The person that left the room was paying 650 Euros per month ( all inclusive. Electricity, internet etc) I am not sure if it will remain same or not. Let me know if you would like to view the place and I will share the landlord's agent number with you. Thanks. Kind regards, Louis |
jaykayson:Hello Jaykayson, I didn't see any query. Please, what's your query? Also, I am not in Limerick but in Dublin. Anyway, you can reach me on this email: louiscares@yahoo.com Kind regards, Louis |
FinestEagle:Hello FinestEagle, You can also look up this site. Filter to suit your preferred location and contact the poster directly. https://www.daft.ie/sharing/dublin-22-dublin?showMap=false Kind regards, Louis |
Hello Prosper123, Just to add to what Expressbooking said. See attached screenshot of the conversation with someone I know that works in one of the government hospitals here. Also, please, look up and read the document in the highlighted on screenshot from the link below https://www.hse.ie/eng/search/?q=Job%20offers%20with%20Hepatitis You can decide to call anonymously, HSE or Nursing body here in Ireland to ask general questions and then bring up your queries. No need to disclose the persons real identity and location. Goodluck to your friend. Kind regards, Louis Prosper123:

Hello Adaobiada, You can carry all you have listed to Ireland. I will list what I have carried on board personally: I have carried several type of DRIED fishes ( Oporoko, kpala, mangala, etc) dried pepper, crayfish, palm oil, Benny ( I haven't seen Benny here but I have seen Knorr, maggi, so I brought Benny from Nigeria) , pepper soup spices, blended banga soup spices, dried Kpomu, dried tartarche(pepper), groudnut, dried tiger nut (Hausa groudnut),Suya spice, Stew and chicken spices, Choco Milo, Chichi,Longrich toothpaste, pando yam and beans flour, Vaseline, Ijebu garri, eguisi, ogbono. These are what I can remember that I have checked in coming to Ireland. If you don't have space for much, I would advise you take more of what you need in cooking than beans because of the weight. Although, we have similar Nigerian beans here but it seems the African shop close to where I am has limited options of Nigerian bean. I don't know about other African shops within Dublin or the county you are going . Please, note you can get almost all of what I listed above and other Nigerian/African stuffs in Ireland including Indomie Noodles but might be expensive especially when you try to convert it to Naira( you can't avoid this conversion the 1st few months you are here...lol). You can carry as much stuff you want as long as you have enough space . Lastly, please, ensure you check in all food stuff including your provisions ( milk, cereals etc) and not in your hand luggage/bag. Additional point: perfumes (I think nothing above 18 or 30ml are allowed in hand luggage/bag), same with tooth paste . Kindly check the airline website to confirm the ml allowed or to be on the safe side ,check everything in your luggage/boxes. Also, you can look up this site. https://www.fsai.ie/legislation/food_legislation/imports_exports/personal_imports.html Have a safe flight. Kind regards, Louis Adaobiada: |
Hello Ubom123, I know some countries share informations among themselves. USA share with Canada, Schengen countries shares among themselves. I am not sure if Canada shares with Ireland/UK. I know someone who had 2 visit visa refusals from USA 2017, 1 visit refusal from Gemany 2017 and 2 study visa refusals from Canada between 2018 & 2019. The person applied for Irish study visa 2019 declaring all refusals and got visa to study in Ireland. However, these are visa refusals and not visa ban. *Visa refusals are not visa ban* . The question you should answer by yourself is why were you banned from Canada? I don’t think anyone gets banned for minor mistakes. Bans are only given for deliberate dishonesty , false information or material misrepresentation on submitted application. I am not saying you did anything or accusing you but if the ban letter from Canada states the reasons of the 5 or 10 years ban, and you now have enough supporting documents to counter the ban, I think you can apply stating the ban including all relevant documents. Also, I think before Brexit UK shares information with Ireland as they are neighbours just like Canada/USA. I don't know about now. Goodluck. Kind regards, Louis ubom123: |
Adaobiada:Hello Adaobiada, I don't know about Edubond . For your covid19 related question, you don't need to be vaccinated. Covid19 Cert or Negative Covid19 Test certificate is no longer a requirement to traveI to Ireland ,however, check if it is a requirement to travel from Nigeria. I remember in January, passengers were required to upload proof of vaccination/negative covid19 result taken within 48hours prior to departure when checking in online and also show copy before boarding from Nigeria airport. Please, see latest update from gov.ie about Travelling to Ireland From Sunday 6 March 2022, travellers to Ireland are not required to show proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative PCR test result upon arrival. There are no post-arrival testing or quarantine requirements for travellers to Ireland. Any individual that develops COVID-19 symptoms while in Ireland should follow the HSE guidance in relation to isolation and undertaking antigen or PCR testing as appropriate. https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/77952-government-advice-on-international-travel/#travelling-to-ireland I hope this clarifies your covid19 related question. Kind regards, Louis |
purplish:Hi Purplish, I am not sure of vaccinated passengers requirements. I think you need to check the airline boarding requirement for all passengers flying from Nigeria. I did PCR test because without uploading to BA website or showing the front desk staff a negative PCR result as an unvaccinated passenger during checking I wouldn't be allowed to checkin. It is among the checkin requirements of British Airways for passengers flying from Nigeria. After you have confirmed the requirements from the airline website or call their customer care, you can then refer to Ireland travelling requirement website sent by @nitemi006 ( This can change anytime, so please make sure you check the date the information was updated on the website.) https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/77952-government-advice-on-international-travel/ No worries. Atleast it's the little I can do. I hope you have sorted your accommodation in Waterford? Did you still contact George for accommodation around WIT? Was he able to help you? All the best in your study and wishing you safe flight whenever you plan travelling to Ireland. Kind regards, Louis |
purplish:Hello Purplish, I didn't travel via Turkey but I travelled from Nigeria 6th January 2022 and transited at London Heathrow, then to Dublin. I am Unvaccinated. I uploaded negative PCR within 48hours before my travel to the airline I was using (British Airways website ) Kind regards, Louis |

Hello Sarto In addition to what @Dwebb and ICASNg said, you might want to still do a research on how you could practice as an optometrist, or immunologist. I mean what are the criteria to be a member of their respective bodies. Do you need to write additional exams, get certified ,have work experiences etc. For example, I know someone who studied Medical Science in Nigeria and came to Ireland to study MSC Pharmacology, but he is now working as a Medical scientist in a government hospital in Ireland. He had some work experiences back in Nigeria as a Medical scientist and also got his Nigeria certificates verified with the relevant body in Ireland to practice as a medical scientist. This might not apply in your case but I am just saying you should research on the criteria if you haven't already done so. You can get prepared ahead by contacting the respective bodies while you are in Nigeria and get all the necessary documents ready before travelling to Ireland. (Google the association). Goodluck. Goodday All, Is there anyone looking for accommodation in Dublin? If yes , there is a free room available in the house I stay immediately available to move in, it is an ensuite, furnished and all bills ( electricity, water, internet, bins ) included. Hello Dwebb55, life is great thanks and yours? Are you in Ireland now? Dwebb55: |
Hello Bjrokenhear003, I saw your post days ago but I couldn't get to comment as I had alot of catch up with and deadlines to meet, but I have about 10days break so I decided to add my little contribution. Firstly, congratulations on your 1st class from Griffith College. What I am going to suggest might not be applicable in Ireland as I don't know much about the system, but this worked for me in the previous country I was. Does the visa you have allow you to work for a company as an intern without them sponsoring your visa? If yes, you should considered applying for graduate internship in a company you love to work in and has what it takes to sponsor someone. Even if it's working for free for 1 or 2 months ( suggest working for free if they say no opening, tell them you want to learn), this experience would boost your CV,with this you can show you have got Ireland experience relevant to your field and you might be favoured at the end to be retained and become full time employee. While you do the internship, don't stop applying for jobs o. Also, you can change your approach of applying for jobs. You can search for companies on LinkedIn especially in Ireland, connect with top personnel and chat them up, ask for potential internship or graduate roles. Even if no roles advertised on their website, they will refer your CV ,that's if they want you to send it to them. You need to sell yourself, you have a 1st class, and ACCA which is plus to any company. Don't limit your applications to Ireland, try other countries Netherland, Switzerland,UK somewhere like Scotland ( I saw sometime ago that PWC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, Bank of America in UK and some other places that were recruiting finance/accounting graduates) and now is the write time to apply for graduate roles as most companies are currently recruiting graduates including the oil and gas ( check Exxonmobil, shell for commercial roles, these companies will sponsor you irrespective of where you live) . As a back up plan for you, while you apply for jobs; like other people have mentioned, is to try Canada Express entry. You are 27years old, you already have 110 points with your age. What you need to do now , apply to WES to validate your certificates,(SSCE,Bsc,Msc (it takes about 2months, depending on how fast your schools respond), then while you wait for feedback , you have to write IELTS General and try to score minimum of 7 in Listening, Writing , Reading and speaking. The higher your score, the better. You need about 12K CAD in your account to show you can survive before you get a job , apply to be in the Express entry pool. PLEASE NOTE, JOB IS NOT AUTOMATIC ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD OOO. There are people with good results like you also applying. Like others mentioned, if you are still interested in studying, you can apply for PhD in the UK, USA Canada, Australia etc ,look for fully paid scholarship . Most phd students can work as a graduate assistant and get paid while studying . This is the little I can contribute now, I need to run as I have lot of pending courseworks to do. By the way, I have attached as link to a 35 pages pdf of companies with current openings in 2019/2020 with closing date, it was sent to us by my school few days ago, look through if you find anything relevant. I tried attaching the Pdf directly here but it was larger than 250kB maximum accepted size for documents. Kindly copy and paste this link on any browser to download it. If it doesn't work, kindly send me a message to my email address above and I will forward the pdf to you directly. https://wetransfer.com/downloads/ea7ca357fe49c7abd422ce7d13cace2020191024115032/f2c59d77be148922a4fe1c71375781c920191024115032/456e2e The above link expires in 7 days ( 31st October 2019) and you wont be able to download the pdf again. Goodluck. Regards. Louis NB. Please, don't take a wrong decision to marry out of frustration, desperation or depression, unless you truly love the person. Bjrokenhear003: |
Blessedolamide:Yes, I will complete my online registration in the international office on Monday and proceed to the department accordingly. Thanks . Regards, Louis |
abuhusna1:Thanks boss. it is grace, not luck .Regards, Louis |
Chibabe4Christ:Thanks. I have done that and my school stuff is sorted. Regards, Louis |
abuhusna1:Thanks for the information. I have gone to the school, the contact in international office didn't act as if I was late. I have gotten my ID card, and would complete my registration on Monday. Also, I met someone in the school who has a room in his 2 bedroom apartment, so I will be checking out from my hotel tomorrow. The room is 290 Euros (all inclusive) and it's 15 to 20 minutes walk from the school. In all these , I would say it is a God factor!. Thanks for all your advise/contributions. Regards, Louis |
abuhusna1:I am currently in Ireland. The immigration officer didn't asked why I am resuming late, I was only asked if I have any documents to show, and I brought out copy of my tuition fees receipt, offer letter and 1 year medical insurance. Please, is there anyone on this platform in Waterford? Kindly send me a message . I am looking for a temporary accommodation pending when I get myself sorted. We can split the bill's accordingly. I am in a hotel now, but would move out immediately I get a cheaper alternative. Thanks. Louis |
abuhusna1:Thanks so much abuhusna1, you have boosted my morale. Yes, I am looking at travelling this evening if I finish with some stuff in time, if not it will be tomorrow evening. God willing , I should be in Ireland 1st thing Thursday morning. I will be travelling to Waterford from Dublin. I really appreciate your time. Regards, Louis |
abuhusna1:Hello Abuhusna1, Yes, I will travel to the school as it is better to discuss in person than exchanging emails in situations like this. If they are willing to accept me this session for same course, I don't mind signing an undertaking ,taking full responsibility of my decision. My concern now is going through the officer at the airport in Dublin without any issue. Thank you for your advise and suggestion. Regards, Louis |
breezy147:Hello Breezy147, OK. ICaSNg commented on my post and suggested I could change course within that school . I would discuss this option with the school when I arrive Ireland. Thanks for your contribution and suggestion. Regards, Louis |
ICaSNg:Hello ICaSNg, The school actually have an unreasonable policy that one would forfeit 25% of tuition paid if decided to withdraw, but they will get money in full if there's good reason of withdrawal even if visa is approved. There is no other course that suit's me within the school now, if not I would have done that. The reason for me wanting to change school is because my department refused to allow me to join after the extended deadline of 18th September ( lectures started 12th) and I can't wait until September 2020 . Please, what I wanted to know is if it is possible to come in with the 90days ( single entry visa), and try to transfer/get an offer from another school within the 90days for a 2020 January start date in anywhere in Ireland, then use the new school to the city were it is and register GNIB? Please, can I contact you on any other medium? I can email and can call if possible,as it's faster. My email is louiscares at yahoo dot com . Thank you for your response and best wishes. Regards, Louis |

Do you know if vaccinated people were fine to board with just proof of vaccination as the new Irish government rules say? Just want to be double sure...you know our Naija people. BTW, really appreciate all the Waterford/WIT info you shared with me last year! God bless you.
