obnelly: Why do we have most of these eirp map always moving away from nigeria.are they really discouraging us from our hobbies?Very very very simple answer here. Check all the satellites carrying similar programs like BB that extend over our continent and you'll see that they veer clear off our sub region for ONE and only ONE reason. BB!!!! You like it or not, that's how it is and will always be. Yes, AB7 is trying to test the waters, but I can bet my last CFA that tps carrying enjoyable english programs found on MENA will never find themselves on the west african beam. Why, you ask? Because of BB, again. |

bisi12004: what of 1music?@bisi12004: 1Music on AB3 C-band is on the same tp like Optima or is being offered by the same source. Just like when the head is cut off the ears go with it, I guess that 1Music is also gone. |
odilibe:What's behind your post? |
omokoaustine: is anyone receiving zuku package @57.0e here in nigeria? And furthermore, is anyone still receiving optima sport @ 5.0w?@omokoaustine and others: If you ask me, Optima has gone for GOOD. many African television houses depend on optima sports for their Champion League matches and do you think this can be for free? So, may be their test period has come to an end for even though they are off, other African channels still use their feeds during matches. Check it out and I hope this will put to bed questions about the greenness and redness of Optima Sports reception on AB3. |
Here in Cameroon this thing goes on with the conivance of people in HIGH places in and outside the government. I can't count the number of times cable providers in our area have had their abodes run over by officials of canal+, art (agence de regulation de telecomunication), and the police. Still, it is business as usual. The guys are waxing stronger and stronger by the day, ordering goods custom made from China with their company names and logo branded on them. If they can succeed with such a corrupt system like ours, please tell me how it can play out in naija? May be the fact that it is DSTV that dictates the pace of the game there that'll make a difference for they are like the piranha which doesn't let go when it sinks its teeth into a prey. However, look before you leap o. |
odilibe: protek ip receiver.@odilibe: Ol' boy, abi na magic box b this? else, what does it really do? @Irapada: wetin wey u tink say my dude don dey do since? He's got a thick skin for such and a long time a go grew above such petit asides. |
If we read back we will realise that nearly every season has its moments of squabbles OR the odd man out. To blow hot should be with a reason. Previous squabbles have been based on issues. But, what I am seeing today is really out of turn and I don't even see any quarrel here because for there to be a quarrel, beef or squabble, there should be more than ONE involved. What are we seeing here? Just ONE! Mod, get into action!!!! We respect you for that. |
George_D: @adewest,@George_D: Right on the money, sir! Right on the money. Moderator, please let the terms upon which this forum was created be respected to the letter. |

bamboutos:I got you pal. I live in Mbandjock (think of sugar cane processing to sugar) but do spend time in Yaounde. So, any time you are around Yaounde, just gimme a ring on 77612644. Have a swell Sunday, man. |
bamboutos:Hello Bamboutos: Going by your avatar, I take it that you are from Cameroon even if not from the famous Division by that name in West Region of the country. If so, then it really feels great to come across a country man on this great forum. Have a great day, pal and keep up the search. |
auchs:@auchs: I am using Mercury TV card 7130 and Ulead Video Studio v10 as the capture apps. But any normal TV card you find around whether internal or external can do. And, I ain't talking about dongles. These works well with any DVB set up box helps record your favorite programs through your pc or lappie unto CDs or DVDs. Hop you catch my drive. |
Hey Guys: I know many out there must have been wondering about alternatives to recording their favorite programs from their DVB boxes. If you don't have an external storage device (hard disks, multimedia cards, usb flash memories, etc.) or a DVB card for PC just: 1. Get an install a normal TV card on your PC or lap top; 2. Get yourself an AV/RF converter. Any tv shack can have it. 3. Connect the AV out of the decoder to the AV in of the AV/RF converter. 4. Connect the RF out of the AV/RF converter to the RF in of the TV card on the PC or lappie. 5. use any TV capture application to do the rest for you. Happy recording of your favorite programs for posterity. Hope this helps those who'd been in need of this info. |
The Digital Sole Thieves (DST*) or BB, whatever you call them cannot do anything if those channels should migrate to NWA beam. North west africa is an open market for anybody to do business. If those nice channels beams on our region, hmm!, the digital sole thieves are going to loose a lot. I remember in those days when they were no copetitor to them, they were selling their customised reciever that cannot be used on another satellite at the rate of 50 000 naira ($323) but when Mytv came, everything changed. When their sister (MTN) came to Naija, they milked us dry. They sold their simcard at the rate of 40 000 naira ($259) but now, it is being sold at about 67 cent not even up to a dollar and this is because they have a lot of competitors. So in nutshell, if the Arabs really meant business, the digital sole thieves cannot stop them.@D.Lee and Auchs: If I catch your drift BB packages went down when they got a competitor in the market. That's right and if the MBC and sports packages that may make their way into the NWA beam of AB7 remain encrypted, then no shaking for BB because they know that they can hold their own with any tom, dick and harry on this turf of theirs. But, make ee come b say those juicy stuffs troop in fta, lai lai to lai lai, sparks will start flying. Just watch and see! |
Hell o house!!!! I been missing in action for quite a while now. From what I can see, the new kid on the block is AB7. We are all wishing that the MBC packages should be included in their NWA beam. However, I hate sounding like a prophet of doom. Our ALMIGHTY BB is ubiquitously looking out for any intruder into her turf. Whatever it takes, thay'll make sure that our arab would be benefactors don't steal an inch of a slice of their pudding just like they've succeeded with the chinkos. I hope I get to be proven other wise. Swell day to one and all. |
Has any one noticed that in the MultiTV adverts "No Monthly Bills" have been left out and only: "Just thrills" remains? What can we read into this? Are they about to go the usual way the others have gone? |
I Hacked:Helo I Hacked: You've really scaled the ladder with your marvelous results from your various experiments. Now, I'd like to know if there is a special circuit that accompanies your set up to aid reception of birds that are normally hit with dishes above 90cm. That is, is it possible for any one to also replicate your results with the normal strong decoders, lnbs and 90cm dishes. Thankx man and keep up the good work. I've been MIA for a while now and just got hoked up to the 'net thankx to a friends system. |
life707:@life707: What satellite hits fx using 1.8m and where are u located? @All: I have really been outta cyber circulation for so long it seems like ages. Reason: my local ISP was down. It is still to get up and run. Wanna wish us all a really phat fta bountiful year 2012. Happy New year to all my fellow brother fta hobbiests! @Gadotor: My G, congratulation for taking over the relay batton from George_D the king. Man, don't fret your head about any bad belle comment for we all know that you merit. U are a good guy and that is for sure. Un seul mot, CONTINUE! @All: I have done everything under the SUN and used all the tips given here in the forum but still can't hit W3C. With my signal strength creeps as high as 54 but never converts to green. I hit EW4/7 and Astra2b at 92 percent quality. I pick Intelsat 7/10 up to 72 persent. But, EW3C remains red. I have used all the tps and symbol rates given here, placed my lnb (digisat 0.2db) at 8 o'clock; changed lnbs to strong; changed coaxial cables without any improvements. What really may be my impediment? My friend in Yaounde captures it with quality up to 92 percent which means that I may be doing something stupid somewhere! Man, I've picked up more tricky sats before. i don't know why one so close and easy is excaping my grasp. |
sammu:@sammu: Thankx for clearing the air, lest I could have thought I put my foot in my mouth. |
