You need to be specific , tell us what GEJ has done point us to valid data ... No Wikipedia pls . tell us what they did point us to valid data Stop playing the emotional card , it only works on half wits |
Fighting corruption has nothing to do with searching for past leaders who embezzled our funds. It is about preventing the further embezzlement of our funds. |
politricks:Emefiele is inexperience, possibly taking orders from "the presidency" - was definitely put in that position for political reasons. As long as he is in that position the international financial community will continue to avoid and possibly divest investments in Nigeria. |
utytill:We need to speak with facts, an article by thisday published a list of oil well owners in this country . It will server you well in the future to acquaint yourself with this information. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/real-ownership-of-indigenous-oil-blocks-revealed/142113/ OP In regard to the statement. If you and your fellow room-mates , spend more time on the internet looking for facts - you would take a second to check if truly this so called international law does exist and if truly by extension the oil the Niger-delta lays claim to is a result of the land mass in the north. The question remains does the offshore oil belong to the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria or the 'state' Nigeria. ![]() |
This is old post I made in one of my sincere moments: Alot of individuals do not support Buhari and alot do. In my candid opinion - everyone has a right to vote whomever they want it's in the constitution. In the same light the most significant component in Nigeria's dislike for Buhari is arguably baseless in mordern global politics. If your quite studied in Nigerian politics and history - you will find that "Human rights" were Buhari's supposed crime against Nigerians - this is true , he did do a lot of good things in bad ways, like many a few military dictator's, however. And the keyword here is military dictator , with absolute power and no checks and balances. Unfortunately, in global politics as well as 'state' politics human rights are relative - they change, come and go - and the state is shouldered with the responsibility to defend the people , their culture, lifestyle, norms e.t.c. above any human right consideration, international alliances or agreements. Buhari was merely doing this, the best way he knew. Do not forget , it was a military regime and most military regimes - regardless of country had little regard for 'the human rights'. This is opinion however. And, if we would make a comparison - it would be foolish to compare a military regime with a democratic regime. So lets say logically how can we discern if Buhari is the right candidate if we cant compare his rule with Jonathan's. Well, you can start by getting rid of the noise - human rights in this case. In your anaylsis , |
nzeadachie:Guy, you don't know what your talking about. What school do you attend down east ? For your information Nigeria is ONE , if you don't agree next time your asked 'nationality' answer 'biafra' - even Ojukwu died as a Nigerian , earned a Nigerian pension and was honoured on Nigerian terms. Nigeria is not one? better go and read your history books and learn the real reason Ojukwu and his handlers wanted Biafra. PS: Biafra never existed, not even for a second. |
asadike: Did he tell GEJ to steal 20b or spend 30b on nepa still tiger gen dey sell like pure watershare golden iphone for his daughter wedding, build rubbish university insteading renovating , expanding existing institution that are already well known. OBJ is not ruling Nigeria - infact he should be credited with increases the odds of a minority tribe ruling Nigeria. |
babadee1:Ofcourse it's a lie, but when it comes to sectarianism, you can always trust the easterners to heed your call. The good ol' bait n switch |
Sanguine77:You cannot govern a state that is not yours. Of all tribes in Nigeria, an Igbo man should be the last person to be told this. |
I wonder how "they" got his account suspended. Somebody on twitter is not doing his job. |

A significant number of registered voters have not collected their PVCs in the Southern part of the country. Ad-hoc INEC staff have not been trained on how to operate the card readers and other devices associated with the elections. INEC has not mapped out a plan on how to deploy men and materials to all designated polling centres in the country. We are aware inec has not fully distributed PVC's. PVC distribution could have never been 100%; and if your argument is that PVC distribution should be 100% before voting begins - your mistaken. In regard to your statements about ad-hoc staff training and logistics - do you have proof of this or is this another common case of 'talking and saying nothing'. |
iii. To discourage people from coming out to vote going by the principle of "failed expectation kills interest".I strongly agree with this , and the APC consultants should recommend a re-tour of all geopolitical zones, more media and internet reach and Buhari should use this opportunity to address the international community on his concerns about posting the election but his belief that if it was done in national interest all involved parties should accept it. I suspect on the internal, many involved parties are also using this 'extra time' to hide the 'evidence' or bury it as deep as possible down the rabbit hole. |

In the same light the most significant component in Nigeria's dislike for Buhari is very much logically baseless in Unfortunately, in global politics as well as 'state' politics human rights are relative - they change, come and go - and the state is shouldered with the responsibility to defend the people , their culture, lifestyle, norms e.t.c Buhari was merely doing this, the best way he knew. Human rights in 1983 and today were not and will never be the same - so many elements have changed since then. In your anaylsis , forget about the human right and compare GEJ and GMB. I am an advocate for peace and always will be hence when I think of GEJ i think of Bokoharam and GMB Maitastine GEJ - Boko haram Buhari - Maitasine |
sincerenigerian:It's unfortunate, and this is one reason I believe they will continue to undermine the education sector. Every well educated individual would expect in such circumstance that Clark would at least provide a valid birth certificate for the supposed under-age or perhaps a statement from a parent or guardian. |
In order to win, a presidential candidate not only had to win a majority of the vote nationally, but also had to win a quarter of the vote in at least two -thirds of the states. In case no candidate mustered the required geographical spread of the vote, an electoral college composed of all federal and state legislators would have to choose the president. http://www.brookings.edu/~/media/Research/Files/Reports/2015/01/foresight%20africa/nigeria%20elections%20adibe.pdf http://ecpr.eu/Filestore/PaperProposal/d468d68f-caed-4806-955c-b1d103bad92b.pdf Each president aspirant has to win at least 1/4 of the votes in at least 24 states. vicadex07:Many GEJ supporters are merely paying lip service , when its time to vote most of them wont come out. Asari made a statement about voting for apc , where he said "only 1 line" does he think GEJ supporters who planned to vote GEJ would come out after learning about such a statement. If the people are scared who will vote. |
nzeadachie:Why don't you just reside in the part of Nigeria you prefer. Dividing Nigeria will not solve Nigeria's problem. How do your propose we divide the country, what checks and balances must be put in place before we split are they on ground. How about indigenous tribe who might be confused on which part of the country the belong to or should follow. When people say split Nigeria it's mainly because they don't understand what the world "split" means in this context and the consequences of this action. Let me further educate you from a historical stand point in regards to this split. In the scramble for Africa, the Europeans split Africa in different part with little or no disregard of how this split would affect this nations. It was more of a split of resource filled land. This "incoherent" split is arguably one of the contributing factor to the issues in Africa today. Look at neighbouring Sudan, has this split solved any of the problems. What Nigeria needs is strong nationalization campaign, and some compromises here and there in the right quarters. |
Using Christianity to influence the mind of the people is not a new act. The colonial masters did it, Christianity was one of the major instrument in the colonization and conditioning of Africa and Africans. Islam to is similar, only that you don't find Islamic cleric outrightly telling the followers to vote a muslim and not a Christian. For the muslims it's more of a natural response in regard to this case. If it were a muslim in pdp and a muslim in apc , it would not be about religion but popularity and favour , the same goes for a christian in apc and christian in pdp. The main reason religion is used a manipulative instrument is simply because both candidate do not have any other way of gathering strong support amongst the people. Nigeria has no prevalent ideologies and nationalism does not exist. The ethnic card is my opinion is a much weaker form of pulling a group of people together and encouraging or influencing them to move in one direction or speak with one voice as we have too many ethnic groups. As long as Nigerians continue to accept the "religious currency" we will continue to suffer from undeserving leadership. It's a pity that most geopolitical anexes in the south - a group of people who are touted to be have a much higher level of education "in Nigerian standards" have agreed to collect and spend this "religious currency". |

After AITNew's failed attempt to deceive Nigerian youths with their evidence of having been hacked ,so to speak, it should become clear to every Nigerian youth that we are continuously been underestimated, and that our collective voices will only get heard when it sings to the rhythm of “the beat”. This is not an attempt to deliberately promote one candidate over the other but to demonstrate that every Nigerian has a right to choose whichever candidate they please regardless of what a neighbor , brother, sister or perceived foe may think. Sentiment analysis has been used for years to gauge public opinion and predict election results. Twitter in particular is the go to platform for carrying out such analysis. Twitter provides an API (a way to request public/private data) which can be used to download publicly available tweets regarding a personality, event or group. These are some academic publications in regard to sentiment analysis and public opinion. Find more on scholar.google.com 1. A system for real-time twitter sentiment analysis of 2012 US presidential election cycle (Hao Wang, Dogan Can, et al) 2. Predicting Elections with Twitter: What 140 Characters Reveal about Political Sentiment.(A Tumasjan, TO Sprenger, et al) Sentiment analysis has been used in US, Belgian, Pakistani, Italian and French elections to gauge public opinion. In simple terms, sentiment analysis works by analyzing a tweet and assigning a negative or positive value to it. Topsy.com provides free sentiment analysis for twitter tweets. Attached to this post, you will find sentiment results for “GEJ” and “GMB” for the past 7 days. Nigerians, though our voices may sometime be ignored and votes not counted in our own country – rest assured the world is listening and measuring. Dust up your old twitter account and make a real effort in supporting your candidate - say something positive , retweet, share, engage and get engaged on twitter.com

KwoiZabo:You cannot prove this ! |
AlfaSeltzer:Pardon me sir, GEJ did not receive a hit from that IP address. However, he did receive a hit from the range 82.145.Bleep.Bleep He got a hit from 82.145.208.70 which carries the hostname z02-09-01.opera-mini.net and owned by Opera. In response to your idea of the IP and web browser ; the IP is provided by the ISP not the modem, true a modem can be tagged to a particular IP by the ISP but not in this case as the evidence shows.

naijaking1: It's not impossible or uncommon - infact this very instant several browsers are opening the same page (or in technical terms , are making request to the same resource at the same time.) at the same time. Most mordern web servers can handle up to 500,000 request per second or more without failure depending on the hardware. |
Bevista:Grabbing the IP, then the MAC Address would be too resource intensive , everytime some comes you need to check the IP and the MAC address and do really want to do that for a brief project - I do python , so we always thinking of the easiest way to do something with less time wastage. They could have simply drop cookies or use OpenID , facebook, twitter e.t.c and let someone else do the heavy lifting. And, at the same time adding some credibility to the polls. |
biafranqueen:So, how did you come about this record. Like i said the IP 82.145.221.163 belong to Opera mini browser. AIT should have the insight, from their site statistics. They should have known most Nigerians use the mobile phone to search and share information on the web, and in Nigeria Opera mini is quite popular. This info is not privileged info everyone knows this. And, they should have expected this to happen. Which is why they could have used cookies, facebook , google, OPENID or twitter for authentication/permission before voting. |
