I’m not very familiar with conferences but to be safe, just have your invite notarized.

Visa category would still be Tourist visa, in the column asking for the purpose of your visit, you can put conference. Fgt

Yes, you need to book appointment on e-consular, your mode of submission would be through courier and you can then use DHL to submit after the embassy gives you the approval to do so.

However, the embassy sent out a notice that they are currently not processing visas till further notice and in case of an emergency, you can send them an email.

Where will I notorize the invitation doc ?

@untamedd Abeg make una help me review this few questions before my submission

Firstly I will be attending a cryptocurrency summit in brazil and the organiser just allowed every attendee to digitally print out our summit visor invitation..Do i need to notarize it before submission

Second, I kindly want to ask what status of the visa should I click on while applying : is it DIGITAL NOMAD OR BUSINESS VISA OR CONFERENCE?

Thirdly, I reside in Abuja and I read through your website that applicants need to book an appointment before submission. Kindly advise if I am submitting via DHL, should I still book an appointment on e-consular?

I haven’t been to Belo Horizonte but generally, Brazilians are warm and friendly people regardless of location. Some are of the opinion that it’s just face value but the point is they are friendly regardless. Just like everywhere else, there are good and bad people.

Some states tend to be more laid back than the others. Maybe you have to explore to see where you like. I have friends who didn’t like São Paulo and moved to other states, Rio and Floripa.

If you’re used to Europe, you’ll like Floripa(Santa Catarina) and Curitiba (Parana). Americans tend to like Rio more, I guess it’s because of the weather.

I’ve been to Brasilia, it seemed safe but it also seemed boring. It was giving Abuja cheesy

Nigerians are everywhere but I think São Paulo has the most concentration of Nigerians. It was hard to find Nigerian restaurants in other states, actually didn’t find any but there’s a good number here in SP.

In terms of job opportunities, São Paulo takes it but you’ll need to speak Portuguese. If you get a remote job, you can live anywhere. I’ve heard Parana has good job opportunities too.

For Family setting, I can only speak of SP cos that’s where I live but I believe it’s the same or even better in other states. Brazil generally is family/Kids friend. They always make provisions for kids. Education is free, healthcare is free, transportation is free for kids up to a certain age, there are parks everywhere. In malls, asides the general bathrooms, you’ll find family bathrooms for people with kids and changing rooms for babies. There are free baby trolleys/Prams for babies at the malls. If you live in an apartment, most apartments come with playrooms/parks for the kids who live there. The government also pay low income families with kids monthly, they provide food items as well.

Oh, kids don’t take food to school here, no lunch boxes because they get fed in school, breakfast and lunch for daycare/preschoolers. At the beginning of every month, my kid comes home with food time table for the month so we see everything they are being fed (0-4years old)
The govt also provides school uniforms, 3 shortsleeved shirts, 2 long sleeved shirts, 2 pairs of trousers, 2 pairs of shorts, 4 pairs of socks and a pair of shoes per kid.

If you study at the University, you even get free lunch everyday.

If you birth here, you are not allowed to bring food from outside. They feed you according to your health requirements, they feed you and whoever is staying with you and the food is great!

I could go on and on, let me stop here.

What more can I ask you for all this information you’ve laid out without a penny Nigeria would have been a better place with ambassadors like you …I’m planning to move my whole family to Brazil so that my wife can have her third child there,on another angle the ashawo in me is saying so u will miss all the Brazilian chikalaz be that ooo… I will settle for Parana or Floripa for a start maybe before I move to sao oaulo. I have good linguistic gift that I can pick up language very fast..

Secondly pls,If we are to arrive in Brazil what’s the accommodation system is Air n B easily accessible ?for atleast first three month for us to settle and again when we get the visa I heard one can come in a week before visa expiration ?..I’m just so connected to Brazil for my kids sake and all u mention atleast will give a man less weight for fear of the future .. Nigeria still has a long way Jessss

Seeking asylum is a process that can take years, they don’t approve or reject immediately. Once you apply, you are given a permit to stay for a year pending the time your application is heard. The permit is renewable if you haven’t been heard by the time it expires. During that time, you can also change your status to permanent residency in different ways. Brazil is very welcoming of foreigners.

Nice one ,I have done alot of research about brazil for months and i feel it has this atmosphere of welcoming legit foreigners that want to add value to its system.
i discovered the safest cities are Parana,Belo Horizonte,Floripa, brazilia and sao paulo...but thinking of starting from belo horizonte what do you think of there and the people are they friendly and warm like the northeast...? Also which city has most opportunities for work or settling with family?

Yes, you can change your status to a study visa while in Brazil. For normal universities, it may be difficult because you only have a maximum of 6 months stay with your tourist visa. For Portuguese language schools, yes it’s absolutely possible but they are private schools. Your study visa will only be valid for a year in that case except you start another course.
I don’t know much about vocational schools.

thank you so much for the insight ,what if i apply for Asylum what is the rate of approval and the conditions

Hello Everyone!

I know there is a thread already about Giving birth in Brazil. On that thread, I have seen many people make inquiries about study without a lot of response. I decided to open a thread dedicated to studying in Brazil.

Brazil welcomes International students to study in their country and all public Universities are tuition free even for foreigners. Brazil is also trying to encourage International students to come and study here in Brazil, hence they have set up GCUB which is a body that provides funding (grants) to international students who intend to study in Brazil. The funding is a monthly stipend provided to support students while studying. Without it, you can still study for free.

Admission Process
Each faculty decides their own admission process so if you’re interested in a particular course, you’ll need to check the faculty website to see when they usually start their admission process as well as requirements. Some faculties require entrance exams, some don’t. If they do, you’ll make arrangements to write the exam in Nigeria.

Language
Brazil universities are one of the best in the world. Learning language is Portuguese but as an international student, you can request to do your work in English. Depending on your faculty requirements, you may need to write Portuguese proficiency exam or complete a Portuguese course within one year of admission.
Most of the Universities website have the option to view their website in English language at the top of the website. If not you can use your browser’s translation tool to translate the website.

After Gaining Admission
You’ll need to authenticate your documents at the Ministry of foreign affairs and Ministry of Education. You’ll also legalize with the Brazilian embassy in Lagos.
You’ll then apply for your study visa. If you have a study grant, you may not need to prove financially capability, otherwise you’ll need to.

If you know about this process, please feel free to contribute.

if i get a tourist visa and get to brazil and immediately apply for a school, will the school change my status to student visa for me? or a portugese language school can do same ? At the same time are there vocational colleges one can apply while inside brazil on tourist visa .... Asking for a a friend thanks [/b]
