All i will say about our game with the spuddies are;

Why is Crapista, Sh@tista, Muppetista tongue tongue still wearing an Arsenal jersey huh

Also have we now moved from being TH14 reliant to becoming Fab4 reliant huh

As for Lehman, well his contract is still very much up in the air, so undecided

Anyways we have mathematically secured fourth spot, now its just to relax and enjoy our footie. We have 2 home games and last game away. Fulham should be a practice before the Russians come to town (We owe them a thrashing for piping us at Craven Cottage, and i hope we give them one wink)

Chelsea's game will depend on the dynamics of where chelsea is at when we play them, so we will cross that bridge when we get there.

All in all, we out played the spuddies, and apart from Man city pegging us back at times against them, we have been ok. What we need to get right is the finishing, cause Spds where there for the taking, which we let slip out of our hands.

Finally, KUDOS TO THE ARSENAL LADIES cool cool cool cool cool

http://www.arsenal.com/matchreport.asp?thisNav=fixtures&fxid=311080

They went away and won the 1st leg of their UEFA final against the best Womens club team. So with an away goal in the Bag, its stead as she goes for the return leg (Why can't they be allowed to have that at the emirates sad that is unfair and a shame, as i feel they deserve that priviledge and that would have given them added motivation and pride)

Anyway what ever happens, our ladies have done us goooners proud cool

You are so stupid, it hurts me to even reply your silly post!! Kenyon left because Chelsea offered him a better contract for his services, and Man United did not stand in his way.

Go and find out about Peter Kenyon and ask any Chelsea supporter what Kenyon has done for them (while you're at it look, for a true Manc and ask them who Peter Kenyon is/was at United, cause it seems you just claim to be a fan, but know absolutely nothing about your club embarassed)

Updates for y'all

Arsene wants answers (and re assurances from the FIRM cool)

http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2061715,00.html

A lot of info from the Guardian on this wholke stuff, so check it all out if you want some concrete analysis.

Apparently DD went behind the Board to have discussions with Mr Kroenke, which i feel pissed them off. The question here is knowing how Close DD is with Arsene, you would logically think Arsene knew about the whole stuff, cause DD would have asked his opinions on the matter. Anyway heres another view point from M Palmer;

"IN THE CITY, another 210 shares changed hands.

The price stayed at £6,750 .That means that somebody has placed an order in the market to buy any shares that become available. Over 700 shares have been sold this week, which is more than 1% of the club.
Stan Kroenke contacted David Dein first, not the board. That is what angered the board and led to Dein's departure on Wednesday. Dein's attitude, apparently, was : We've got a wonderful stadium but no team to put in it - I told you this would happen !

That didn't go down too well !

Remember this : If David Dein had not come to the club in 1983, Arsenal would have been the Aston Villa of London for the last 24 years. With David Dein gone, and Arsene Wenger seeking resssurances about the club's future, and pressure mounting, chairman Peter Hill-Wood has been obliged to spill some details.

He said , "When ITV sold their shares they called me half an hour before the announcement to tell me. That's not right. I asked David Dein if he knew Kroenke and after hesitating he simply said 'Yes'. We suspected that he knew Kroenke far more than he was letting on and we came to the conclusion eventually that he knew him a lot more.

"Call me old-fashioned but we don't need Kroenke's money and we don't want his sort. Our objective is to keep Arsenal English, albeit with a lot of foreign players. I don't know for certain if Kroenke will mount a hostile takeover for our club but we shall resist it with all our might. "We are all being seduced that the Americans will ride into town with pots of cash for new players. It simply isn't the case. They only see an opportunity to make money. They know absolutely nothing about our football and we don't want these types involved."

Peter, you are old-fashioned and that's why we love you.

But you've only got 500 shares. Danny Fiszman  has 15,000 shares. It's up to him, not you."

Arsene's pre match press conference should be fun to watch or follow, as no doubth he will be asked a lot of questions about his future and the future of the club;

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/arsenal/article1680376.ece

And here are bits and pieces on Arsenal's other power players that could make or break this take over stuff

Main man Dan Fiszman

LADY NINA BRACEWELL-SMITH

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/07/04/20/SOCCER_Arsenal_Hill-Wood.html&TEAMHD=soccer

Anyway on to other news

Playing the Spuds tomorrow, should be an open game, only major worry is Cesc having fallen ill and being only 50/50 to play. Guess delnilson will have to come in, or we play Diaby in his rightful position (will bring up an interesting issue concerning Diaby another time) and with Freddie out, we play Bap(sh@t)a along Ade in front.

Spuddies will obviously be up for this, but if we play well, we should have them and put this CL qualification stuff to rest once and for all (we only need a point more to be safe)

Big Boy Martin "Baldy" Jol is in Awe of Arsene (no surprise there huh, the whole freaking Spuddy club should be in Awe of Arsenal grin)

Safe waters (for now)

"Dein still owns a 14% stake himself estimated to be worth around £57m but even if he were to sell out to Kroenke, football business experts believe it would be very hard for the American to complete a hostile takeover of Arsenal.

Professor Tom Cannon admits the fact Arsenal are listed on the Plus Markets and the division of shares would make it "almost inevitable" the club could repel a hostile takeover bid. "It's very hard to see how a takeover could succeed if you have got those shareholders on the board with 45.5% of shares saying no," said Cannon. "One can be pretty confident that from the smaller shareholders they can pick up the remaining 4.5% of shares to pretty well control 50% of the shares and therefore it's almost inevitable they will be able to block a full-blown takeover."

Anyway guys , shit is not as simple as they sound, and this summer period is going to be the worst for us gunners, as stories will be coming out almost on a daily basis

Dein will try and wheel and deal with some shareholders that he feels are on the fence, he will tell them that a takeover is the way to go, and is ultimately inevitable (I don't see it happening in 1 years time, but i think by 2009, Arsenal will/should be taken over)

A lot depends on Mr Wenger, he has to deliver for the board members and the supporters. If we are successful on the pitch, that will translate to the finances and situation in the boardroom will be better.

If we are successful in the CL, we gain alot of financial incentives and reward. We get among the highest TV revenue money among other footie clubs, and our fan base is growing everyday. The new stadia will definately bring in more money, as International friendlies have been lined up to take place at the Grove (with the Emirate expected to get more games)

Wenger gave alot to them, with his sensible dealings in the transfer market, that has brought financial stability, and gave them the opportunity to face the stadia building and movement.

The whole stuff still has a long road to play out, i just hope it doesn't get messy tongue

Now the real major issue for all the supporters; WILL ARSENE SOON LEAVE huh

Here's Palmers view as well, then i will give my own thoughts undecided

With David Dein gone, will Arsene Wenger stay ?
By Myles Palmer

DAVID DEIN has left Arsenal today due to "irreconcilable differences" with the other directors
On the same day that The Guardian's David Conn wrote a story quoting chairman Peter Hill-Wood saying that he, Danny Fizsman, Lady Nina and the Carrs would be horrified if the ownership of the club ever passed across the Atlantic, we hear the news just after 6pm on Wednesday : David Dein has left the club.

As you know, Dein brought George Graham to Arsenal in 1986 and he brought Arsene Wenger to the club in 1996.

There was an executive vacuum at Arsenal before he joined the board in 1983 and Dein soon became vice-chairman. Before that the club had been run by Ken Friar, the Secretary, as it had been run by previous Secretary Bob Wall for decades.

David Dein made Arsenal more ambitious and he proved to be smarter than his friend Irving Scholar had been at Tottenham.

Arsenal is the most important thing in Dein's life, apart from his family. His priority was always to spend money on the team, wherever possible. Chairman Peter Hill-Wood said,"On behalf of the board I would like to express our gratitude to David Dein for the many years of loyal service he has given to the club. "We sincerely regret that irreconcilable differences between Mr Dein and the rest of the board have necessitated a parting of the ways.

"In light of recent speculation with regards to the ownership of the club, the remaining board members, who together own 45.45% of the issued share capital of the company, would like to reassure the supporters, shareholders and employees of Arsenal Football Club that they remain long-term holders of their interests in the club. "To this effect, they have entered into an agreement not to dispose of their shares for at least one year and have confirmed that they intend to retain their interests on the expiration of this period."

For at least one year ? Bear in the mind that Arsene Wenger's contract was extended in October 2004 and runs till May 31, 2008.

One wonders : Is this really a resignation?

Is it goodbye or au revoir?

Does David Dein, whose wife Barbara is American,  plan to come back if Stan Kroenke eventually takes over ?

The next few months will be interesting !

Dein was at the game last night, when Arsenal beat Manchester City 3-1, so this has obviously come to a head in the last few hours. My guess is that Dein wanted to explore the possibility of asking Stan Kroenke to make an investment in the team.

Money for the team is badly needed. But obviously the board did not want to go down that road, or even think about it.

Since the club went into debt to build the Emirates, Arsene Wenger has been given an overall budget. A total sum he can spend on wages and transfers. And he is a prudent money manager. Always has been. His squads have been thin for a decade. In that, he is a bit of a masochist. He knows he might suffer, and take flak, but he would rather suffer than spend irresponsibly.

Arsenal face hostile takeover after Dein divorce
By Myles Palmer

Peter Hill-Wood's statement is a recipe for Arsenal instability.

How can the directors say they won't sell for a year?

No serious business puts out statements like that. It's a pathetic and imbecilic statement.

How can you say, "In light of recent speculation with regards to the ownership of the club, the remaining board members, who together own 45.45% of the issued share capital of the company, would like to reassure the supporters, shareholders and employees of Arsenal Football Club that they remain long-term holders of their interests in the club.

"To this effect, they have entered into an agreement not to dispose of their shares for at least one year and have confirmed that they intend to retain their interests on the expiration of this period."

We own 45% and we're not selling because it's an English institution that's been in my family since 1930 ?

Please ! Get real ! In the world we now inhabit, Arsenal directors can't say : We've agreed not to dispose of our shares for one year.

WHAT KIND OF SIGNAL IS THAT STATEMENT ?

Does it generate stability at the club that prides itself on being the most stable in English football ? Of course not. The statement is a massive own-goal. Peter Hill-Wood is a smashing bloke, I love him dearly, but this statement goes too far, says too much, and betrays a big company that turned over more than £100 million in the last six months.

FACT : On Tuesday, season ticket holders got their renewal letters : Dear Joe Bloggs, Thanks for your support this season. Please send us a cheque for £1,800.

FACT : On Wednesday, David Dein's gone !

The guy who does the deals has left Arsenal. The guy who goes out and fights the crooks and sharks in France, Italy, Holland, Spain and Brazil and comes back with the footballers.

Who will do that job now? Not Peter Hill-Wood, you can be sure. Not Keith Edelman either.

After a statement like this, how can Arsenal go to Samuel Eto'o and say : Join our club, sign till 2011 - but we might have new owners in 2008. Arsenal are a big club with a cheap young team that is uncompetitive. The team needs money. The team needs new faces who can excite the 60,000 punters by scoring spectacular goals like Ronaldo, Rooney and Drogba score.Without that investment, the Big Four will become the Big Three and Arsenal will be chasing fourth place every year, as they did in 2006 and 2007.

THIS MESSY SITUATION will not last till June 2008. No way will this take till 2008, I'll bet my house on that.

David Dein can sell his 14.5 % to Stan Kroenke, who already has 11.26%, so Kroenke will then have 25.76 % of the company.

He would have more shares than Danny Fiszman.
He would be Arsenal's biggest shareholder.
Then Kroenke can appoint a director to the board.
He can appoint David Dein to represent his interests.

This year we heard that Danny Fiszman and David Dein were not on speaking terms.

Now the Fiszman-Dein divorce will lead to a Kroenke-Dein alliance and Kroenke can buy another 5% from Landsowne Partners, the hedge fund, if they have 5%. They have been acquiring shares for just this eventuality.

With 30%, Stan Kroenke has to make an offer for the whole club.

On Wednesday, another 216 shares changed hands.

Fasten your seatbelts, chaps : this is shaping up like a hostile takeover that could see Arsenal sold for £600 million.

This has been a very tense issue, which i have been following since the begining, now that the Chairman P Diddy (as Arseblogger likes to call him) Hill-Woods has finally come out to speak his mind, and members of the Arsenal Trust and other supporter groups have openly expressed their opposition to this, i think i can now bring this issue up in the house.

http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2059461,00.html

Now we all know that the Take over sword has been swing over our heads like a bad cloud, being the norm today with clubs (especially in the Premeirship) being bought over, are we seeing the trend finally catching up with Arsenal.

Not to bore everyone with details, but it seems some top shareholders and Board memebers are tired of running the club, after sorting out the building and movement to the new stadia, and arranging the loans and debt payments. As well as the re-development of the Highbury Flats project.

FINANCIAL REPORT

Now, we see what takeovers have done for clubs, injecting well needed finance into the coffers of any club, we have seen it for the Russians, and the scummies, and we will see it next season for the Pool. which begs the question; ARE WE BEING LEFT BEHIND huh

Granted gooners will want to take pride in saying we are holding on to tradition, but as we have seen with the stadia move, Tradition has/can be broken. Arsene talks of keeping the values of the club, but can afford to be left behind in the major money stakes huh Unless UEFA or FIFA put foward a salary cap on players wages or Money barrier on Transfer fees, will we be able to compete with the other big 3

What does everyone think, the scummies tried to protest against the glazers, but nothing came of it, Can we succeed in keeping Kroenke away, or is it only a matter of time (sooner than we think actually) and will Wenger stay if that is the case huh

Listen i have crossed swords with better muppets than you, even when it comes to scummies, you are the least, FFS even Rikkyjen throws a better punch than you.

you said, "for another thread",  huh you actually are dumb to think i would be led by your STUPIDITY huh

This issue will not be of any benefit to me and all, so i will let it die. as getting into a words fight with you, would be highly boring and a waste of my bleeping time.

Let me tell you a little story

Now Julius Caesar went to Eygpt to look for his concubime Cleopatra, on getting there he met her brother Ptolemy XIII who had sent her on exile and took over the throne as king (with Caesar's enemy Pompey becoming his ally) Now Ptolemy XIII was very young, but was also intelligent for his young age, unfortunately when he sent his Wife/sister packing, His Eunuch now became his adviser, and love-vendor, leading him away from women towards the male persuasion.

Now having being led and shafted as well by his male gender, Ptolemy had begun to lose his mind, as this no doubt affected his brain. So when Caesar got there, not only did Ptolemy challenge him when he asked for Cleopatra, but Ptolemy had the audacity and effrontry to give Caesar, POMPEY'S head on a tray, thinking Caesar would be happy that his friend turn enemy Pompey had been finally killed. Boy was Ptolemy wrong. We all know the rest of the story.

Now the moral of the story for you is, Stop bending over bro,  it ain't doing your behind any favours, cause everyone on NL knows thats where your brain resides; UP YOUR BACKSIDE!! If it didn't work for Ptolemy, i doubt it will work for you. A word is enough for the self certified retard.

We need you to get out of here, cause you are becoming overstated.

Go Back to the Scummy thread and tell yourselves how your going to carry this and this (invisible) trophy, while the Blues do the job and lift the real things.

That arguement doesn't hold water,

Riqueleme was the best Midfielder on show both home and away when Villareal played Arsenal, but who Won and eventually went through to the Finalshuh

Anyway, i leave this arguement, getting boring LETS WAIT FOR THE GAME huh

So you would curtail Gerrards natural instincts to go forward to compensate Fat Frank huh what i want from you is a full midfield.

Like this

Lennon Scholes Gerrard J Cole

OR

J Cole Carrick Owen H Lamps Gerrard

Something like that; Give me your midfield of 4 or 5 players that would accomodate both so i can see how your analysis fits that midfield.

"I think we deserved the three points."
Michael Essien gets a little bit confused as to what he's achieved, having rifled home the last gasp Champions League winner against Valencia. (Adam Pearce, England). It must be a Chelsea thing - Wayne Bridge said exactly the same after winning the Carling Cup. grin grin

Interviewer : So is the pressure now on Manchester United?
Jose Mourinho: No, no pressure. If they play well, they will win. If they don't play well, they will get a penalty and still win.
Mourinho after Chelsea closed the gap at the top of the Premiership to three points.

grin grin

"I've been saying for a long time now that the bottom three will go down."
Nigel Winterburn commenting on who he thinks will be relegated from the Premiership this season. grin grin

"Giggs is enjoying himself in the centre of the party."
David Pleat talking about United's attack during the Man U v Roma game.

"Going down, going down going down!"
Ipswich fans to Barnsley when they led 2-0.
"Staying up, staying up, staying up!"
Barnsley fans when they pulled a goal back with 10 minutes to go.
"Cheerio, cheerio cheerio!"
Ipswich fans to Barnsley after going 5-1 up.

grin grin

And the best out of the lot, its not a footie one, but it had me cracking up;

"Hey Vaughan. Lend us your bat for our beach cricket - you're not using it!"
Spotted during England-Bangladesh game.

Still laughing now cheesy

Razorr

just give me the England midfield you would play. Let us look at how it would look like, cause the Midfield with both players ain't working, so lets see how you will acommodate them.

For this moment you take the Role of Steve Razorr,

Midfield please

Why do folks like dancing around issues

Whether the question is "Who is the best", has nothing to do with it. Call a spade a spade.

All Sentiments aside, listen;

Who is a better midfielder (with or with out goals) : GERRARD

Who would be the Captain if it wasn't given to John Terry : GERRARD

Who has had a better career in an England jersey : GERRARD

If there was a choice right now btw them on who the fans would want on the pitch ahead of the other, the  choice would 9 times out of 10 be : GERRARD

WHO is a better all round footballer : GERRARD

Sentiments aside who would everyone rather have in their teams : GERRARD

Who is a better leader on and off the pitch : GERRARD

Why are we having this unnessary arguement : LAMPARD

Even in Spain, Arragones tries not to play a midfield of Xavi, Alonso and Cesc, that would be a disaster waiting to happen.

Like i mentioned once, Razorr, even in France, Viera had to curtail his game because of Zizou, cause you can't have 2 midfield Generals on the Pitch. And when ever they both played, Patrick V always knew that Zidane was the boss, no matter what his form was like at club level, when they wore the National Jersey, ZIDANE CONTROLLED THE MIDFIELD.

So unless Lamps holds his ego to allow Gerrard control the midfield for England, they can't work together on a regular basis that would be of benefit to Englands performance.

And please this is no Anti-Chelsea stuff, cause any defense would want John Terry, and most coaches wouldn't mind Drogba in their team, well  grin or who wouldn't want Cech in goal. So lets leave club allegience. like i said, 9 out of 10 National coaches would pick Gerrard ahead of Lamps everytime, cause he has more to offer in Midfield than Lamps does.
