Collynzo9: @ LRNZH as long as you continue to leave your brain in the dustbin while trying to sell your master, I will continue to be your nemesis on Nairaland. You are lucky I didn't see the thread earlier. You have been put to shame once again. Lagos: You can find Cassava bread in Sweet Sensation, Spar, Park n Shop and Shoprite PH: Everyday supermarket. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BkTNR4CIIAAhI8x.jpg For all I know this your usual gimmicks. You have not shown us a branded cassava bread in wrapper. All these adverts for an anticipated phantom bread.

Mopolchi: Between the two, I am yet to decide. But I think Jona has started some meaningful projects in power, food and job. May be the impact of these is small, at least, there is an impact. The sector heavily hampered under Jona is security. For Buhari, I am not sure that he can take this nation to the next level. He has ruled and fought corruption, which took much of his time as our leader and many people suffered. Take this instance into perspective, around 1983-85, Gen Buhari closed down most canteens in our universities just because of corruption which marred the management of these canteens. The result of this act was that many suffered to buy things they would need. In fact, oga Jona doing his Ph.D. then, had to stand in line throughout the night to buy just 2 tins of milk. Hope this is not the kind of government you want from Buhari? GEJ stood in line in 1983. He said so himself. The coup that brought Buhari power occured on Dec 31, 1983. So blame Shagari not Buhari for GEJ's woes if true.
I believe you have not heard of austerity measures and what they prevent. If you have, you would be appreciating Buhari and chastising GEJ. |

Aeroland is up against APC's Segun Adeola (Yayi) for Senate - Lagos West District. It has nothing to do with Olamilekan. Find who is contesting against Olamilekan and make your choice for House of Reps. |

kaboninc: Its so easy when we place blames on others and most dangerously on the wrong person.
This issue you just highlighted was the same issue NOI has been shouting, fighting and praying that these politicians will see reasons. Yet it was one of the problems Amaechi had with GEJ in the Governor's Forum.
Its the same issue these ignorant APC goons keep using as a launching pad for the attack on GEJ for 'wasting' the ECA. Now this same Pat Utomi has come up with his own rag-tag analysis. We should ask what did these same Governors do with their own share of the ECA?
See, we do not know what it takes to become a leader until we become one, until we begin to assume a role as a leader and in fact, a very divided, complicated, complex and dynamic society as ours we'll never know or have an idea of how difficult and most times endangering it could be.
Now one question he asked if I am better off as a person in the last four years? My answer to that is YES. How? Roads have been re-constructed and time wastage on roads have been reduced. I ply these roads. Increased economic activity translates to improved bottom line results. Stable exchange rates, stable prices and a single digit inflation rate even in times of low oil prices - I guess he didn't notice it. Reduced food prices as a result of improving Agricultural sector. Crashed cement prices - affordable housing. Improved maternal health, reduced child birth and maternal mortality. As a creative entrepreneur, I get too many options to choose from in seeking grants (loans) from Micro Finance institutions not banks with their high interest rates. Reduced travel time (remodelled, upgraded airports) for international flights into the Eastern part of the country. YES, improved power supply and security especially here in Lagos. And so much more. Oh, increased allowee for Youth Corps members.
So YES, in four years, my life has been better off. Do not be deceived. The governors asked for their share of the ECA and opposed the SWF because of the antecedents of GEJ. Even gov. Akpabio publicly declared on GEJ's campaign train that they ate the money. Mind you, FG takes 54% of this money. What happened? The governors noticed that at every FEC meetings, the ECA would dwindle by about $1Billion or slightly less without explanations. They became worried so much that they (both PDP and APC govs) appointed their forum leader - Amaechi to request that the money be shared amongst all tiers of Gov't to avoid the day they would meet at FEC and find nothing left in the ECA. NOI is not a saint. She has blatantly refused to release the PwC audit report on the NNPC after making promises to release it by Nov. 2014 and by Jan. 2015. Even if she didn't get a dime of that missing $20Billion (I highly doubt), she is complicit in covering up corruption. Please let us not be deceived. My life has been worse off after 6 years with weaker exchange rate and dwindling power supply. |

I think it popped up again during the national conference....
You think we should take out some police that is not enough for humans to guide animals in the bush? The fulani are naturally lawless in this country. Buhari refused to honour Oputa panel invitation and he has refused to submit his wasc certificate telling us to go to court. So what do you do about that? Haha you make me laugh bud. So you can see that it is a viable solution I brought up since this idea has been proposed in the legislature and at the National Conference.
What has GEJ done with the National Conference proposals? Absolutely nothing. Implementation is the problem of Nigeria especially GEJ's Gov't. GEJ and PDP are a joke.
By the way, it is not the size of the Police as much as it is how effective the Police is. Fulanis and host communities are humans like all other Nigerians. They're not animals.
If you truly like your Idoma people, you better follow Audu Ogbeh to APC and stop supporting the slavery of the Idomas under PDP.

Ngwakwe: Nobody is talking about what money can do or did rather the flaws in its management as it relates to equitable distribution across regions and the exaggerated estimates without details for further verification for most listed items which I know are lies.
PTF was synonymous with corruption against what the article portrayed and the distribution was engraved in ethnocentric policies hence my criticism of the whole write-up. NLs are aware that any stories of PTF corruption never indicted GMB and no one was prosecuted even by a hostile OBJ Gov't and EFCC.
OBJ recently said that GMB's PTF was given a clean bill of health from a corruption perspective under his administration

agabaI23: When last did you see Fulani men carrying their cows through Benue?
The government has done something but it seems you don't know. Let me then ask you Mr Critical/complex thinker, what would be your solution to Fulani inversion? Simple, 1. Dedicated cattle rearing routes from the North to the South, so that farmers will also steer clear of those routes. They will be Gov't reserved areas. 2. There should be effective policing of these routes and surrounding communities. Not the kind of police that got wiped out by Ombatse in neighbouring Nassarawa State. 3. If Fulanis pefer to settle in alien communities in the MB and South, there should be a Gov't monitoring process so that it doesn't lead to future skirmishes. Many communities collect money and cattle from these fulanis in exchange for land. Later when a dispute arises, they start crying foul. Those nomadic Fulanis still believe in settling dispute by the sword. Fulani or indigene should be prosecuted where found guilty.
It will take a comprehensive plan and dedicated monitoring. This the kind of thinking that APC will trump PDP in any day any time especially under GEJ. |

The bread is available. I watched the event on TV though. Its like I mixed up the commissioning of the equipment to raise the bar to 20 % with having that already.
I am too honest to lie. Check my posts! If it is not the fact, I don't go there.
But I can as well say that getting the equipment to enable the actualisation of 20% is as good as getting actualising the 20%.
Bottom line, Cassava bread policy is not a failure. It is a success. When the president talked about it in 2012, you mocked him. How long does it take to carry out research for a new product?
A three -year phd studentship is awarded in the UK and sometimes nothing comes out of it. A 2-3 year postdoc(renewable) can also be awarded. Here, GEJ proposed a hypothesis in 2012 and by 2014, we have reached almost the final milestone and you call that a failure? Failure on whose scale? APC? So you have stylishly agreed that there is no 20% cassava composite flour in reality. One lie debunked. OK we are making progress.

The best thing is that an internet search won't show you a lot on PTF projects because that era in the 90s was before the GSM and internet revolution on Nigeria.
Newspaper archives give us glimpse of the good things that GMB did under Buhari. The other clues are first hand experience from Nigerians. I witnessed PTF buses in schools and hospitals, subsidized drugs in hospitals, classroom and lecture hall blocks in Universiries, lab equipments, roads etc.
