You are wrong bro, those European countries you've been showing us did not get to that level once. If our previous government brought something like thin 1980 and maintained it, at least before now, it would have improved to something better. But they all left it to rot bro, Gej had to start from the scratch.

You want us to jump into electric trains when the government is still trying to make electricity available to the masses. If we purchase those very expensive trains, will Nigerians be able to patronize cos I know the transport fare will be expensive, won't Nigerians still patronize normal road transport than the rails. Things are done gradually brother, learn to appreciate.

Why dont you come to this thread and express your opinion
if you think Railways should be the most important priority of GEJ's govt.

PoliticsNew Year POLL: What Should Be The Top 3 Priorities Of Nigeria's Gov't? by LRNZH(op):
Fellow Nairalanders,

We have been arguing about APC, PDP, GMB, GEJ, Prof. Osinbajo, Arch. Sambo etc etc.
We have tried to analyse their strengths and weaknesses.

But what should be the most important three priorities for any Gov't in charge of Nigeria now? By now I mean the last 5 years or so and the next 5 years.

Is it Railways, Airlines, Roads, Health, Education? Power, Refineries, Health, Security, Agriculture etc?

Feel free to post you opinions please with analysis. No insults abeg.

In my opinion, for Nigeria's Economy to stabilise (GDP, exchange rate, Foreign Reserve), and enable other sectors to take off,

The top 3 should be
1. Security
2. Power
3. Refining Capacity

All other sectors depend on a stable economy which these three listed above will provide.

Even OPEC recently blamed Nigeria's woes during the oil price crash on lack of Refining capacity. See excerpts below :

Oil Crisis: OPEC Blames Poor Refining Capacity For Nigeria’s Woes

Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, (OPEC), has blamed the dismal refining capacity in Nigeria for its inability to weather the headwinds in the global oil industry.

It also criticised the huge refining gap within the continent, even as it notes that the region is lagging behind in implementation of refinery projects.

It further stated that Nigeria has failed to fast track the implementation of new refinery projects, while it continued to face setback on rehabilitation of the existing refineries.

Nigeria presently has four refineries and two located in PortHarcourt (old and new) while others are in Warri and Kaduna with a total refining capacity of 455,000 barrels per day.

But issues like corruption and mismanagement have greatly impaired several government efforts to implement Turn Around Maintenance (TAM).

Also, challenges associated with regularisation and political instability has slowed down investment in new refineries.

It added that, “The need for additional capacity in other large countries has led to talk of several other major refining projects. This is the case in Nigeria where options range from the rehabilitation of existing refineries, through to several new smaller projects and a large-scale new grassroots refinery.”

The onus is on you to prove that Buhari actually ordered and paid for those planes.
I am telling you categorically that they were ordered and paid for in 1981 while Buhari was still lusting for power and plotting a coup.

I provided a document and a link stating the General purchased brand new planes for Nigeria Airways, you came up with a spurious claim that they were purchased by Alhaji Shagari.

I challenge you to prove it or desist from quoting me.

GEJ has never paid a surprise visit to see the conditions of the troops. That's why he can't understand why the counter terrorism is not working.

Even in Zoology that GEJ claims to have a PhD, there is field work.
