LRNZH: You see your life GEJ?
So the urgency to quell terrorism is because of elections and not because people are dying.
So if we allowed GEJ the single 6 years tenure he requested for, no arms will be procured with urgency until 2017.
Jesus. Must everything be about elections to GEJ? Leave matter. After 2015 elections, GMB will craft a comprehensive anti-terrorism plan. Not running from pillar to post for arms because of elections. |

This is a region GEJ has refused to visit to give the people and Army troops moral support over the insurgency.
The governor is apparently not smart to even consider campaigning for GEJ in this region. |

BossAyuk: Please go and argue somewhere else..maybe with a kid. 1) Did GMB spend Six Years in power? Isn't it a very serious bias comparing GMBs achievements when he spent just 2 years while GEJ has been here a whooping 6 years and the only thing you now show us are trains?
2) Was the Technology Advancement present in Buharis regime same with what we're experiencing now in GEJs regime??
I don't like all these type of arguments. I am starting to doubt the value of this thread sef. When Buhari was in power (1983-1985). Railway was not the pressing issue at all. Trains were running very well. Railways died under IBB due to his cronies road transporters (long story for another thread). Buhari had no incentive to spend on railways. The issue then were hyper inflation, too much money in circulation, indiscipline and corruption, Maitatsine to name a few. He solved all these in two years. GEJ has had 6 years but couldn't tackle the big problems of Insecurity, Power Generation, Refineries and Corruption. GEJ doesn't know his country's priorities. You're now disturbing us with incomplete railways. See why I think this thread is almost useless? They faced different types of challenges. I you want to compare GEJ and GMB... Check their performance against the top 3- 5 priorities of their times, the time they had as leaders and the result they achieved in that time frame.
GEJ will fail this comparison woefully. I bet you.

mcino: I found out that none of you read through the post you comment on. If you did, you wouldn't scream all these. Railway system is part of the economy anyway, but we are comparing GEJ and GMB, on their input in railway system, as they assumed office. Stay on topic You're the one missing the point. We stated that GEJ inherited a very functional economy versus Buhari who took over an economy in shambles from Shagari. But your were countering us hence were proving to you that GEJ has performed worse than he inherited. We're on topic, just replying your post. You can't just use an incomplete railway project to judge 6 years of an administration. |

mcino: So, OBJ and Yar'adua left a functioning rail system that GEJ has claimed and is enjoying. Na wa oh! Your conscience is gone. Walahi!!! You don't want to get into this argument. How much did OBJ and Yar'adua respectively leave in both the Excess Crude Account and in Foreign Reserves? How much are there under GEJ? Oil production was highest under Yar'adua and dropped under GEJ due to bunkering by His brothers in NIMASA Power generation is getting worse and tariffs are increasing. Partial subsidy removal but not a single working refinery to show for it even after GEJ promised this in January 2012. Economy no be only train o. |

Refurbished Locos after 6 years and the whole rail project is not even at 50% completion yet. Watch how this rail project will die after 2015 elections. Okonjo-Iweala will come and explain how low oil prices are making them shelve projects because they can't keep borrowing from the Chinese. |

You can never compare the mess Shagari created until Buhari took over to the relatively great economy that OBJ and Yar'adua left for GEJ to come and claim. By that standard alone GMB > GEJ. |
Politics › Re: Amaechi Is A Bunch Of Disappointment, Says Odili by LRNZH(m): 10:26pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
mikeansy: All those saying Odili looted River State should remember that while Odili was Governor, Amaechi was speaker.
So if you accuse the Governor Odili of Stealing, then what did speaker Amaechi do about it?
When Odili was deputy Governor to Rufus Ada George in the 3rd republic. Amaechi was his errand boy.!
This two go a long way and when Odili says you don't know the character of a man until he has power and money; there is a reason he says that.
It is quite frankly stup1d calling Odili a thief in a debate between Odili and Amaechi because if Odili was a mafia boss, Amaechi would be his caporegime. I disagree with your analysis. Amaechi and Odili parted ways because Amaechi spoke out against Odili's excess while nursing the ambition to be the next governor of Rovers State. That's why Odili announced Omeiha instead. You know the battle that ensued between Amaechi, Omeiha and PDP in the end before Amaechi became victorious at the courts. |

Feraz: Your answer below. . . The guy I just quoted has an apt answer for you. If previous governments had invested in this sector, do you think we'll still be at this stage? All these countries you're mentioning, don't you think it is the private sector that is making them boom? Tell me, if as an investor, you want to invest in the transportation sector of the economy, will you do so when the sector has been moribund for years and previous governments have not paid attention to it? Now, the present government has seen the need in resurrecting a dead sector for transportation so that investors can have confidence and you're here yapping about how fast Japanese trains are. Have you checked the cost of building one? So in your myopic mind, we should leave the previous tracks constructed by the colonial masters and lay new ones because we want to catch up to the advanced nations (of which various people here have posted different pictures and also differentiated between a tram and train). So you think it's just about importing high speed trains? You should probably do more research on the cost and maintenance and what it takes to have those. Then again, you would be happier if your government donates the money meant for this sector to Ukrainian government; the above shows your kind of person. Meanwhile, the deadline for delivery of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line project was this December. It is not close to completion |

I witnessed first hand Odili's N60Billion fake IPP (Independent Power Project) he set up in Omoku.
He even brought OBJ to commission it. It never worked. OBJ was so disappointed.
Amaechi can never be on the level of Odili in corruption.
Odili also armed militants for elections in 2003. That's how the militancy and criminality problems in Rivers State became severe.
Forget party politics. Odili has no moral right to criticise Amaechi. Infact, Amaechi has performed better than Odili and Omeiha combined. |

hyfr: why do u belive in buhari Since you ask, I will explain. Because of this: Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.Do you think that the clueless GEJ you hear nationwide is just somebody's imagination? There's no smoke without fire. I never paid a lot of attention to the Bible passage above until I observed GEJ over the years.
If not for OBJ's selfish plans, GEJ would not have gone past a deputy governor in Bayelsa State. He's not in the list of capable SS sons that could have ruled Nigeria. If you have been following my posts on this thread you will see the details of where I think GEJ has failed, so i won't elaborate. PDP has failed Nigeria. Currently APC governors who are less in number have performed better than PDP governors. Buhari is not corrupt. Even his sworn enemies know that. People like IBB and OBJ are scared Buhari will jail them if he gets into power hence all the fabrication against him. Using common sense, if Buhari sponsors Boko Haram and terrorism, is it not a huge failure on GEJ's part that buhari is still walking free and even contesting to be President? GEJ should have brought evidence against Buhari and indicted him since 2010 that Boko Haram has been violently tormenting Nigerians. That tells you Buhari is not involved. I want Nigeria to be great again. Of the options available in 2015, Buhari and APC are the best. |

Ezemust: pls wat sin did gej commit in the rail sector.anserw pls This is my opinion. It is not a sin per se but the rail project will not reach a sustainable stage in my opinion. The rail project is currently not sustainable because the fundamentals of the economy are lacking as I will explain bekow: No power to run small businesses and industries. No refineries to reduce Gov't spending of forex on importing fuel and subsidising them No security for people to settle and travel freely to conduct their businesses. You will agree with me that the rail project is still in its infancy because they're still laying tracks and importing locomotives. Stations are yet to be modernised. The amount of spending needed to get rail transport to the level where it can sustain itself is a lot of US Billions which the Gov't doesn't have at the moment if you have been following the news lately. Infact the progress made so far in the rail project is based on loans from China. With low oil prices bound to persist for much of next year and the high level of corruption, many projects will die immature deaths and the rail project is one very likely candidate. To even show you the level of sincerity of the Gov't, instead of a technocrat in the transport industry, they handed over the Railways to Bamanga Tukur as a political appointment to appease Mama Piss. Until we get the three fundamentals of Security, Power and start refining our own fuel to save forex, any capital intensive project in Nigeria is on shaky foundation. I hope this helps. |
