That should be the mindset.

Between the bmpt and vt4/t72, which do you guys think would have been better in our war against boko haram?
The last time Nigeria bought real Tanks was in 1978 During the Shagari Era that was 42 Years ago.
The T72s that GEJ bought were bought surplus to requirements hurriedly in 2014/2015 and Nigeria constantly had to buy spares for them , FCS eventually became Manual only.
Nigeria Bought the VT4 because they wanted brand new Tanks+ spares + Training.
IMHO Nigeria should not be buying any IFVs or APC that is what the Coys like Proforce and Dicon are there for.
There is a definitive need to retire the Vickers (42Years old ) and upgrade the T72s that GEJ bought .
I am not supporting the Govt position, buying MRAPs or IFVs is a step backwards not forwards and that includes BMPs .

You need to stop believing what you write and stop living in fantasy world .
Till tomorrow China is the No.1 Culprit is defying sanctions against N.Korea.
At the height of the Sanctions against Nigeria . Russia offered Nigeria a $1B loan as long as Nigeria abstained on Ukraine.
China is in direct competition with the US over Nigeria. They are heavily invested and involved in Nigeria and they will not be involved in helping in any Sanctions against Nigeria their No.2 Client in Africa.
Emotional intelligence is very different from Intelligence based on Facts.
As we speak NAF officers are in China learning more and more.
Relationships are being built and nurtured.
When things get better economically .Nigeria will buy more equipment from China and Russia.

LOL. This is why I say that many of you here are idealistic, only good at compiling all manner of things from the internet. They way you talk, one would think that North Korea and Iran would have the best hardwares from the east. Hope you know that arms sales are sanctioned by the UNSC?
Please what satellites are owned by the military? And do you even know what C3 is? Don't tell me it's secret because secret in Nigeria means that it does not exist.

See, no one including China sells serious equipment to an incompetent government that has little to do with national interest. Dictatorship is different from incompetence. When the government is incompetent, they act irrationally with thinking about how the actions will help matters, dictatorial government make long term strategic plans with visions on how they'll strengthen their country but in Nigeria, there are no visions. Your office holders are just there to make money, acquire properties for they and their relatives, travel around with long convoys, live a good life and maybe do one or two things where they'll inscribe their names boldly on. What was displayed at lekki was incompetence not dictatorship. Until your government changes, the best the military will be will be like Myammar or some similar country in the east.
Ode it is CH3
At least get that correct if you are going to display your ignorance .
The Chinese Govt sold this year to the NGN Govt
VT Tanks
Heavy Duty Precision Guided Arty Systems
CH3, Ch4 and Wing Looong UCAV Drones .
Ode 2 China is part of the P5
They will use their veto against any sanctions.
Sometimes resist the urge to write.
The Nigerian Military doesn’t have a dedicated Military Satellite System. No one said they did .
They have the King and the AT-42 that provide more than enough.
Just to throw this in Russia is also a member of the P5
They will also veto any sanctions.
Now go and play with your toys

The American senate actually voted to stop arms sale to Saudi Arabia last year. It was Trump that vetoed the decision
And Obama went to Saudi , kissed the ring and looked the other way on Yemen.

We hope the Dems don't fixate on an arms embargo on Nigeria but history always repeat itself. All those weapons you mentioned we are getting from alternative source will be useless in no distant time if the US follow true with a sanction because we will need spares, routine maintenance etc to keep them flying and Pakistan is US ally just 1 phone call from the white House to Imran Khan and everything we had with them will collapse same for European countries with the exception of eastern Europe and China but trust me the US will go to any length to see that they block any weapons deal btw Nigerian and any of US adversary. The Chinese are not reliable partners (IMO) their loyalty is to the highest bidder, those guys can cut deal with even the devil.
The US and Pakistan have to put it mildly have less than ideal relationship with each other.
No phone call will come from Khan from Washington.
The JF-17s are sanctions proof.
This was as a result of the US nixing the F16 deal to Pakistan , Hindsight is 20-20 they say, consider how that worked out.
Pakistan is now working on Block 3 .
A once dependable ally has turned completely to Russia and China for Tech and Weaponry.
Charges the US billions every year to fly logistics and move machinery through the Khyber pass.
When 15 of its Soldiers were accidentally killed by the US it shut the Khyber pass down for almost one year, they them made President Obama issue a humiliating public apology *Billions more.
What some short-sighted Nigerians don’t realize is sanctions work both ways.
It forces the Country to be less dependent.
Nigeria is on its Third Ship
It’s 3Rd MRAP
It will gets its IFV
It bought 35 Tanks ( New) from China
It recently gave scholarships to Kids who built a Plane from scratch.
Nigeria is also the US no 1. Security partner in West Africa.
The drones Nigeria bought are made in China they are sanction proof.
Helicopters same.
So what is the big fuss about 12 Planes that IMHO won’t be responsible ( big picture) in destroying Bh.
They will help but they are not the be all and end all.
Right now America got much bigger problems than Nigeria.

The way people talk about the TUSCANO DEAL you will think :
(A) That as soon as BIDEN comes to the white HOUSE his main focus will be Nigeria , and if wishes be told he will immediately cancel the deal okay.
(B) You would also think that 90% of the weapons purchased by Nigeria were from the US.
(C) You would be hard pressed to believe that Nigeria would of acquired MORE DRONES , MORE deadlier equipment from both CHINA , RUSSIA AND PAKISTAN by the time Tuscano deal is completed.
(D) You wouldn't know that a Multi fighter Plane called the JF-17 will be in Nigeria Shortly
(E) You would think by the shrill coming out that the NA doesn't have SAT INTEL, C3 INTEL , HUMINT INTEL that everything boils down to the A29 ( IT DOESNT)
(F) THE A29 is a must buy for the NAF ( It isn't , like everything in life there is an alternative), I twill end the bh insurgency ( it will not, deadly iron will with even more deadlier intentions to accept collateral damage will.)
This is what Biden is facing in his first 6 months in office:
1.A Pandemic that has killed 250K Americans
2. A faulty transition that has left America vulnerable
3. A deliberately weakened NATO - BY RUSSIA ( MISSION ACCOMPLISHED) that he has to put together FIRST by stopping TROOP WITHDRAWLS from Germany , Afghanistan and Iraq.
4. Politically He has to tread very cautiously till their is a clear majority in the Senate, he is not going to say or do anything to rock that boat. he has enough domestic issues on his hands.
5. BIDEN unlike a lot of left wing democrats that have infiltrated this blog will be deliberate and pragmatic and in most likelihood to the disappointment of many( here ) will not have time for African issues for a year.
6. As you read this NAF AND NA officers are in China learning how to kill form 20,000ft.

Algerian1,

What's happening in your axis?

There seems to be a military operation between Morocco and Polisario (Algeria supports).
We need his POV on this matter , it is a tense time and I can understand him being reluctant to comment but the Polisario Front has in statements made it clear the ceasefire is over, what that will translate to in the coming days is unclear. What is clear is the road between Mauritania and Morocco has a back up of trucks . If the P.F. stops this road from functioning what does Morocco do ? this is a very tricky situation for Algeria, Morocco , Mauritania and the Polisario Front.

You people that seem to be so obsessed with aircrafts and the military so tey una go dey argue the engine type even the type of smoke e dey emit. Why not just join the airforce where you'll be of benefit instead of arguing away your time on nairaland.
One of the critical reasons is most administrations have paid lip service to procurement.
Late President Sheu Shagari made weapon procurement a priority between 1979 and 1983.
Incredibly 40 years later Nigeria is still using some of that equipment!
It shows you how damaging all Military Rulers are.
They are about regime preservation.
I will repeatedly state if you want a Military complex , functional weapons procurement in Nigeria . Civilian Regime must be the norm not the exception.
Leave APC /PDP out of it.
GEJ did a lot for the NN
PMB is doing a lot for the NAF
Our C-130Js are 40 years old and just now getting what is considered routine in the Western World : PDMS
It is hoped when things get better economically whomever is President will continue these trends.

NAF 142
Ready locked and loaded. This is really good news as reported by Air Commodore Ibikunle.
The NAF is getting ready to step up into another deadly level.
This is very important news in terms of the NAF.
What is inevitable is the NAF will eventually have another Air Command - The ISR / Surveillance /UAV &UCAV Command.

President Trump has never respected Mexicans or Mexico .
He called them Rapists and Murderers.
He never visited Mexico even though it is 90 Minutes away and the Mexican President very rarely spoke about him.
It is important to keep with the facts.
President Trump’s legacy will be shaped by what he did legally;
He banned people from Muslim speaking Countries from coming to America.
He banned Nigerians from the lottery visa.
He was proposing a ban on Nigerians who intended to study in the US from getting a 4 year visa ( It would of been a 2 year visa)
Even Fox News disagreed publicly with him and those actions through Bill O’ Reily.
My stance on the Tuscanos stands when they arrive you guys should come here with the same intensity.
If they don’t I will.
Done with this topic.

The Tuscanos will be delivered.
Biden will be different from Obama he will have a functional perspective towards Africa and Nigeria.
Biden’s view towards Terrorism is shaped by his Son( Late Hunter Biden) , Not Obama’s who never had any Children in harm’s way.
Biden’s main priority right now is the Covid virus.
The deal is done .
There also is a much better relationship between the two.
Relationships matter.
The Planes will be here.

Keeps looking good
There is a need to ramp up production of both the EZUGWU MRAP as well as the ARA MRAP. I would say production needs to go to at least 50 / year.
Currently there is a need for at least 300 X2 for the Three states affected the most in the N'EAST ( Adamawa ,Borno, and Yobe).

Things that didn’t take long
Resurrection that have occurred among 10 Nigerians that died at the Lekki Toll gate
St Nicholas to inform Nigerians they don’t have a mortuary and no one died from the shooting at Lekki on their premises.
A Lady finally appeared to be the Mother as a Son killed at Lekki has been identified as fake complete with Local Government where the Chap resurrected.
And Yes it had to be a Hausa-Fulani Muslim General who ordered the shooting because no Christian would dare do that.
More resurrections were Go fund me are expected tomorrow.
Meanwhile from the mouths of Independent sources
Quote
An AK-47 is a rifle round that is extremely destructive it has an entry and exit wound.
Blood splatter will be evident in the immediate surroundings.
The area in Lekki has not rained in three days perhaps the Soldiers bought mops and bleach.
Time will tell.

We are now to believe that a situation should not be doused/not de-escalated.
Somehow A NPF Officer who clearly has lost control of the situation by firing his weapon and teargas is in a better situation than the NAF Officer who clearly KNOWS how to de-escalate the Situation and ASKED for recording nothing hidden
Whom would y’all trust
We move on this too shall pass.

Nigerian Army Reduces Academic Requirement To Woo More Citizens Into Joining Military Unit

This is to allow more citizens join the army and make more soldiers available to execute the war against terrorism in the North-East region of the country, documents sighted by SaharaReporters have revealed.

The Nigerian Army has reduced the academic requirement needed to join the military unit.

This is to allow more citizens join the army and make more soldiers available to execute the war against terrorism in the North-East region of the country, documents sighted by SaharaReporters have revealed.

As part of the basic requirement for enlistment into the Nigerian Army, interested applicants must now possess “a minimum of four passes in not more than two sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO or NABTEB at O' Level including English Language”, the document said.

In the internal memo dated August 20 and signed by Lieutenant General L. O. Adeosun on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, he lamented that soldiers were reluctant to dedicate themselves to the fight against insurgency and banditry in the country.

He said that soldiers preferred to take less risky jobs or further their education in order to avoid being enlisted into battle zones.

Adeosun therefore directed that the academic requirement for enlistment into the Nigerian Army be lowered to encourage more members of the public to join the army.

The memo reads, “It has however been observed that a sizeable number of enlisted men and women are reluctant to dedicate themselves to the ongoing Nigerian Army operations against insurgents and bandits.

“They prefer instead to pursue other less risky endeavours or further their education in view of possessing their requisite educational qualification to gain admission into tertiary institutions.

“This is all in a bid to avoid participating in Nigerian Army operations which ought to be a priority. This undesirable trend could be attributed to the emphasis placed on educational qualifications at the expense of passion and commitment to what a soldier stands for.

"Consequently, I am directed to convey that henceforth, the minimum educational qualification for enlistment into the Nigerian Army shall be the SSCE or its equivalent with minimum of passes including English Language.

“This review would ensure that more willing and committed young Nigerians are given the opportunity to serve in the Nigerian Army without laying emphasis on educational qualifications."

Last part the memo signed by Lieutenant General L. O. Adeosun

This reduction in academic qualification has now been put in place and effected by the Nigerian Army, according to checks by SaharaReporters.

You do know this POS information is fake and yet you posted .
You honestly don’t have to try this hard to be a butt wipe.
The NA turns back Thousands of applicants every year why do they need to lower the requirements.
This pos information was first done by Sahara Reports and as usual being the butt wipe gullible person you are you posted it.
