or is there another thing called frigate
That is what he said.

Do we have the technical expertise to build missile armed ships?

I doubt it for the following reasons;

1 - We've not had an operational or modern missile armed ship for a long time.

2- We don't have a blueprint to build on. Luerssen FPB57 Fast Patrol Boat was a platform from which NNS Andoni was built.

3- Seaward Defence Boat 3 has shown that we can build modern ships, but building a missile armed vessels comes with it's unique complexities.
Nigeria has demonstrated the ability to master GIS / GPS and precision drone and Rocket strikes, the decision to build a frigate with MISSILES
shouldn't be that far off in terms of Technology transfer from a Land based system to a Marine Based., pretty sure the NAF can help the NN Counterparts.

I don't mind Nigeria building more, but larger SDBs, we have a vast area that needs constant patrolling. We just need to build them faster.

Nah. After the third one is completed by December. We should be planning for a Corvette of 55-70m length and over 1000 tons. Fully armed, ocean going vessel and suitable for combat.

That should be our target now, not building more SDBs. My opinion.
Agreed Three SDBs are enough.

Understand one thing from time to time Soldiers do pop in and read these articles.I don’t mean the odd junior Officer.
If something authentic is mentioned that is verifiable to be extremely serious it will get to a decision maker the same day.
The Ajebutter guy’s story I didn’t for once consider serious he was just venting and going through withdrawal syndrome.
He will be fine, wounded pride, fellow coursemates have become Lts that all.

Oga calm down, do you know what happened to me? You're here saying that i chickened out, nda is 5years and i trained for 3years so do you think I'll run when I've trained for 3years? Yeah i was complaining because of the break because I've been serving restriction, I've been in the Academy for almost 2years without going home for break, i don't know if you're an officer, even if you're an officer you won't still understand because colitos(SSC) didn't train at perm site except you're a regular
You mentioned a Senior Officer’s name that treated you .
According to your Standards
You called him nice
You mentioned another Senior Officer’s name
who treated you harshly you called him a bastard.
If by some miracle you are ever readmitted into the NDA you are more likely to remember the Bastard’s lessons.
I don’t know you , and the one thing you got wrong is I don’t wish you well.
That you are wrong . I wish you well and hope you will learn from this painful lesson.
The Major you talked about has probably been in more dangerous firefights than he cares to remember .
He has also seen his fair share of over pampered 2nd Lt.
You should never ever use / compare yourself to a Police Officer Cadet.
I go to Church with a US Family He has probably done close to 10 tours of Afghanistan
Nothing said on Social Media.
Friend of mine 17 Months in ALL the hotspots in the N’East
Nothing said on SM served during the worst years.
Social Media is not the place to vent you are for the most part dealing with people who would give you a pillow and a soft bed with sheets instead of a kick in the ass. I have seen Men die and worked 15 hours straight
Does that count?

I was withdrawn from Academy and you're here saying you're thankful that I'm no longer in the Academy, i don't know you and i don't want to know you but I'll advice you not to be happy for another man's downfall, because this world is a small world and what goes around surely comes around. Even if you're an officer don't you know that you could me dismissed tomorrow? The withdrawn cadet you know today can be the COAS tomorrow and the General you know today can be dismissed tomorrow

Faithful007:
You should also talk about walfare for soliders in the US, proper feeding and how their health is well taken care of. Why don't we copy that? The British military that we copied, does not allow their cadets to do what would lead to their death, their documentaries on how they train their cadets used to be aired on Discovery, bullying would result in expulsion. That someone dies during training is unheard of. Nobody signs his life out in training in foreign countries. It never happens in those countries you mentioned. Courage is not achieved by hardship, it is achieved by proper training on how to handle situations. Physical training is just to strengthen the body. It does not make one more battle wise and sound, you teach cadets proper leadership not harden them. That's why our soldiers are usually wicked yet very undisciplined. The other day, cadets were dancing on the road, blocking traffic. Many cadets I've met are very unruly, and heartless. Those are the kind of people we produce. If it were only SFs I would have not had so much problem, what does sitting on the head for hours achieve in the life of a cadet?
WTF are you talking about
Just last month in the span of a week 11 Marines died in a training accident aboard an amphibious vehicle training under extremely dangerous conditions.
Did you see their mates come and complain on social media ?
A Marine will train under the most demanding and demeaning conditions.
He won’t go awol and he definitely wouldn’t compare himself to a US Policeman.
That would be considered a bloody insult.
A US Officer training is more demanding and more demeaning some of it is not fit your nice Social Media.
Female Officers are also told they can be raped.
It is voluntary both in the US and Nigeria .
Don’t watch TV too much and believe the absolute rubbish you see on TV about US Military training.

But do street kids get into NDA?
Yes they do , the boko haram has exposed the danger of allowing only ajebutter ( kids from privileged backgrounds) to fill the infantry combat ranks.
LT. GEN Buratai has been known to promote NCOS straight into the officer ranks for those who have shown exceptional bravery in combat. This practice was common during the Civil War. Rtd LT.Gen Dongoyaro one of the best Ecomog General s started out as a Corporal. It was abolished after the CIVIL WAR, however LTB has as he has the power to do so promoted personnel on the spot . To be frank even further Lt.Gen Minmah also did some.
Foreign AffairsRe: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by LTGEN: 4:01pm On Sep 28, 2020
His lack of discipline showed through mentioning names calling the Senior Officers who treated him nicely and the ones who treated him harshly bastards.
The US Army &Marines have basically three types of regiment training
For ordinary recruits
For Officers
For SF
.
Like Nigeria the last 2 are extremely demanding, demeaning and mentally exhausting to weed out people like the Gentlemen who is now venting on Social Media.
6 Months ago a General did( Navy) .
He was fired immediately.
This is the age of the whiners.
When you VOLUNTEER for the NDA or the USArmed you sign a form stating you understand the training could result in your death.
You are not being coerced or drafted to join.
And yet Mr Social media joined.
No in the US they don’t stand you on your head they only wake you up at 4 a.m. to go swim in full poor insulation clothes in the San Diego for Hours.
Then run and roll in the Sand cursing the Shit out of you to quit this is the part they are allowed to show on TV.
The other part where they teach officers what to expect if they are caught by the Taliban or enemy forces is never shown.
Ajebutter here wants us to feel sorry for him.
He was told he was signing his life away.
He did .
He couldn’t hack it.
Even now Ajebutter doesn’t know he is being tracked and those he left behind will be shown his rants.
He is listening to assholes who never missed a meal, butter , sausage and cereal were their lot in life they are giving him advice
Pele, Biko sorry for your pain.
This fool would of shit in his pants if he had transferred to Damboa , Kondunga , Marte Baga.
We thank God for the Major who weeded him out.
These are the mofos whose parents would write my friends long letters of bribes “ Please don’t send my Son to the Front/danger zone anything you want I will give to you.”
My friend put them there to chew dirt.
Baba Owen as usual would come to his defense
So ri aiye re?
You see your life?
Those who stuck it out are on their second promotion.
Nah I don’t feel sorry for you .I am just glad you didn’t make it to Second Lieutenant.
Space was created for that hard nosed kid from Ajegunle who by hardworking and street smarts got into the Academy and is not on Social Media blubbering away.

I am thankful you are no longer in the NDA.It is staggering you find this worthy of venting.
What have you suffered?
And you were going to be an officer huh
Ajebutter like you that cannot suffer wetin??
Are you sick in the head so because they canceled your “vacation “ you are comparing yourself to Oga wetin you carry?
Nah wah thank God you chickened out.
You are supposed to have an extremely high tolerance of physical and mental pain instead you are here complaining.
The reason why the 54 washed out because the Major began to see and question the quality of the NDA graduates and he absolutely didn’t like what he saw.
These are the types of guys that would lead men into ambushes .
Kudos to the Major.

Chad has the MIG 29.
We can get maybe 3 SU-30 MKI and then maybe 1 or 2 squadrons of the JF-17. I think we can maintain this with our budget
That sounds reasonable to me :
Buy the 12
Buy the parts with it and the rockets bombs and ammo
Buy the simulator
Then go buy the 3 SU30 - and repeat the process
This is how you quietly become a regional power in AFRICA

You are right of course. Nigeria is buying the JF17 for the same reason it bought the J7. We do things for the short term, long term objectives be damned. Strategic thinking seldom seems to enter the equation. We simply like to waste money and other resources.
Uganda has the SU-30 and the comments about the Pilots would make you weep.
The Planes are not well maintained .
The Pilots are constantly looking to go somewhere else.
Does a Lion worry when it defecates in Hyena territory.
Nigeria needs to build up its critical NAF infrastructure first.
12 A29 Super +
Simulator
NAF established 1964
First procurement to come with Simulator
For 55 Years NAF had 3 Air Commands
2015 -2019
Established 2 Commands including critical Special Operations Command 2018
Need to build up and maintain these Commands.
2020
NAF has just given the okay to establish a base only 203 for UAVs .
NAF needs to build and maintain
You cannot just buy “ Christmas Gifts” without any thoughts to build and Maintain.
For 40 years those Army HOS sobs didn’t maintain our C-130s.
One had barely passed the 10,000Mile mark
2015-Present has seen the NAF working in its 3rd PDM.
Let us walk first before we start to fly ( No pun) Intended .
Last but not least unless Nigeria wants to fight the collective might of the 28 Nations of NATO.
Best not to worry about engaging in French Piloted Aircraft.
Looking forward to the Infrastructure that will costs $36M and will house the A-29s
Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by LTGEN: 9:57pm On Sep 16, 2020
Who are we fighting in our region now ? Chad , Cameroon , Ghana . I honestly don' t buy the argument , We should not be buying SU-30 till we can afford it, and maintain it and pay for the upgrades.I am not trying to sound like a know it all but that is what got us into trouble with the Jaguars see as they are rusting and even the BRITS that sold it to us don't even sell the spare parts anymore.
Nigeria bought the jf -17 because that is currently what she can afford , it is that simple, she needs to buy UAVS done , she needs to buy A-29 done, She needs to build up her Special operations commands in ALL 3 services ( ON GOING) . She needs at least 12 helicopters ( ongoing)
One thing at a time, where are the pilots self if she turns around and buys SU30 ? I t takes 1-2 years to master a brand new AIRCRAFT that is new to your inventory.
I beg people take am easy make the Plane land first now Block 1 or 2 or 3. nah small , small. no be one day now.

"As days passed, the warship became an eyesore at a private jetty around Niger Bus Stop in Apapa Wharf and started taking in water such that successive administrations and NN leadership debated her fate. Love the discussion as long as it doesn't degenerate into name calling. this is my two kobo . Nigeria's genuine foray into the Military industrial Complex is barely 20 years old (I don't count the OBJ years) the reasons why I refer to the ARA I &II because they are still prototypes and were more critically even though they had the best minds in the biz were designed by Civilians.
DIFFERENCE
The EZUGWU prototype I and possibly prototype II were designed by ARMY guys aesthetics was not a consideration- survival was and it shows : it is top heavy armor wise ( to resists the rounds from as dshk) and high of the ground so as to allow occupants inside to survive .
Eventually the EZUGWU will still be worked on it will never be pretty infact its trademark might be butt ugly because it is not designed to look good but to save the folks inside.
ARA III &IV will probably be heavier and with that they will have to change the ARMOR MATERIAL .
Keep the discussion going folks leave out the personal stuff y'all both mean well.

They also confirmed as much that This base will serve as the UAV base for incoming Male and Female UAVs

Very sure. Even the army got some new toys already delivered that very few peeps are aware of. Those army toys are quite strategic hence men kept quiet.

The NAF had already told us they are expecting UCAV. I just helped complete the info. For the EW & AEW aircrafts, they were long overdue. They are silent orders just like the VT-4 tank.
I opened up cos the aircrafts wouldn't be hidden.
Could you at least confirm/deny whether the NA took delivery of the Javelin anti tank system ( Chinese version.
