Barrister, you are funny . First, you asserted that the APP judgement was delivered by a High Court, a blatant lie, disproved by the link provided by Fergie. It is quite interesting that rather than acknowledge the fact that your initial submission was wrong, you resorted to muddling issues with "struck out" vs. "dismissed" talk. BreconHills: I have read the ruling in the APP and the latest PDP case. In the APP case the case was "struck out" meaning the court treated it as if it had never been filed. In the PDP judgement it was "dismissed" dismissed is not a technical term. It means the prayers of the apellants were dismissed. If the prayers of the apellant in this case the PDP were dismissed then the situation returns to status quo ante. Which is that the APC LG councillors are the only validly elected LG representatives.
Both the PDP and the LP have had dubious legal performance by their legal teams. In the 2023 election they showed poor grasp of facts and law and poor coordination in their strategies.
APC maybe by reason of its opposition years has a battle hardened and highly experienced team. Not surprising when Messrs Osinbajo and Fashola are coordinating affairs.
As a lawyer with at least 34 years of post call experience, I make bold to say that once again APC has shown up the ineptitude of the PDP legal team. If even a law school student does not know there difference between " struck out" and "dismissed" they have no right wearing a wig and collar.
My final word. |

Eriokanmi, Accepted that a trade war is unhealthy for both countries, but you are really overestimating the economic capacity of Canada. If you live here, you will weep for the country called Canada. A combination of incompetency and policy gerrymandering in the last few years have done an irreparable damage to the economy. Circa 2010/2012, the CAD was at par with the USD. In fact, if you step into some shops, the two currencies are interchangeable for making purchases. However, today, the CAD is equivalent to 0.69 USD. Besides the fact that most of the multinationals, still operating profitably in the country are foreign-owned, what Canada is manufacturing/exporting to the rest of the world now is grossly insufficient. In my opinion, before picking up a trade fight with the US, Canada should first dismantle trade barriers between the provinces. This decades old internal trade barrier is so bad that rather than finding a way to resolve it, each provincial government always prefers the easy way out; increase trade with the neighboring states in the US. An indefinite piggybacking on the Big Brother, the US, at the expense of developing robust interprovincial infrastructures and trading framework has consequences. Now that the chicken has finally come to roost with Trump as POTUS, maybe it is time the federal government/provincial leaders revisit the moribund Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), liberalizing trade internally, removing stupid exemptions/restrictions and making the country very attractive for Canadian/foreign investors, regardless of the tariff situation. By the way, the relationship between Canada and China/India is currently at an all-time low. There is no love lost between JT and the leaders of the aforementioned countries. In fact, given the opportunity, Xi Jinpin and Narendra Modi will tighten the trading screw, just to teach JT a hefty lesson . Overall, since Canada’s exports to the US (75%) are more than double the US export to Canada, and the discordant tunes coming from some of the provincial leaders, dialogue is the way out here. The current tit-to-tat approach, adopted by JT is unsustainable. On the long-term, it will ultimately destroy many large/small-scale businesses in Canada. Eriokanmi: Mexico isn't Canada. Mexico is like some african nations wallowing in poverty. They don't have a choice but dance to Trump's tunes..Trump has met his match. Canada is no small country and those who have been there would concur. You know what? Canada too goes to China like the usa does so, it's not as if they're benefiting substantially from the usa. Trump will be disgraced in the end. Imagine south africa telling Trump to mind his business. I read it here this evening. I see more jabs coming from other nations to him
He should just focus on making America great again, according to his slogan . Good luck to him |

Besides his over-pandering to the left on some issues, Justin really tried for Canadians. Although he and his team handled the COVID-19 crisis quite well, the slow economic recovery/inflation has become an albatross. Dude is really a nice guy, and he single-handedly saved the Liberal Party from going into extinction in 2013. I wish him the best, and hope that Pierre Poilievre will step-up, if he becomes the PM after the next election. AcrossTheEarth: He is still well-loved by many of us real Canadians. A comparison of the economy of both countries will confirm that whereas Iran has almost 10 times the population of Israel, it lacks the wherewithal to prosecute a war of serious magnitude. Iran is a country blessed with abundant natural resources and smart people, but the country is almost ruined by the intermingling of religion with politics. https://countryeconomy.com/countries/compare/israel/iranJogs1900: From their defense budget, you should know that isreal is stronger militarily. |

It is obvious from your post that you are quite uninformed about the economy of both countries. For your information, Iran's GDP per capita is not even up to 10% of the value for Israel. Check other indicators via the link below, and you will realize that your previous submission is pure bullshit. https://countryeconomy.com/countries/compare/israel/iranprofessor100: You are the one without facts here. Go, and research, and come back with data. Then I can engage you. Yes, war is about technology now, why are USA, UK, and Saudi coming with their technology to assist them from been cleared out flat. For Iran to attack from their country shows that they are not in the same level with them.
Iran is only afraid of what UK and US will say. But they have come out to issue another threat, that next one will be worse than that. What can be worse than 300 missiles my brother. Let's not fool ourselves.
Iran is way richer than them.. Iran have used money to acquire more sophisticated weapons than ever. Israel have nothing in comparison with Iran.

Mazi Ugwoke, you are actually doing a disservice to the former governor with the way you are responding to people here. Whereas I agree that the former governor is an easy-going gentleman, I am of the firm opinion that he underperformed as a governor . Honestly, can you compare Ugwuanyi’s eight year tenure with that of his peers in Ebonyi State or Anambra State? Indeed, the last federal election in Enugu State was a referendum on Governor Ugwuanyi tenure, and it was a humiliating verdict. His performance as a governor was so bad, and unparalleled in the history of Enugu State, that even his own senatorial zone rejected him! So, I really don’t understand what you are defending. There is nothing really surprising here per se, this is a disaster in the making for the last nine months. The decision of some of the Israeli army reservists (members of an Elite Intelligent Unit inclusive) to abandon their duty post and join the anti-government protest contributed to this mess. Of course, while it is okay for people to fight the Netanyahu government's bid to make a sweeping judiciary overhaul, it should not be at the expense of the national security. The image of the military openly revolting against the government has been the right opening for detractors. The situation was so bad that a top officer in the Israeli Defence Ministry warned about the damage the unprecedented activism in the history of the nation was causing. Well, now that the chickens have come home to roost, the Israelis would need a serious introspection. In fact, the country will never be the same again. With the number of fatalities thus far, I wonder what some of the protest leaders would be thinking at the moment. vivaciousvivi: I am honestly still in shock. It's obvious that "Bola Tinubu" used documents belonging to another individual to secure admission in the US. Thereafter, he had no option but to stick to the 'borrowed" name. ikechiji: The admitted Chicago State University and Community college certificates are consistent with the rumours that "Bola Tinubu" was the name of Tinubu's adoptive mum's daughter who died. "Bola Tinubu" then adopted her name and went to the US with her student visa. That is why you have never seen Bola Tinubu's primary school, secondary school or even WAEC certificates. That is why he did not list his primary or secondary school on his 2023 INEC forms (the primary/secondary schools he listed in the 1999 forms were shown to be fake).
