@Musicwriter You are mixing things up, the review process comes before final acceptance of a manuscript. I will make my explanation more simpler. For most reputable International Journals, you submit your manuscript on-line via manuscript central/Editorial system whether you are white, black, old or young. Nobody gives a hoot about where you are coming from! Once your submission is within the journal scope, and also meets the manuscript preparation guidelines, the fate of your article is now in the hands of anonymous experts who will now determine the originality/ innovation in your work. In fact, most international journals are interested in handling the review and possible publication of articles making ground-breaking discovery. Why? Such articles increase journal visibility and Impact Factor in the scientific community. Please, let us desist from encouraging people to do things wrongly. People who are acquainted with Dr. Opeyemi should advise him to stay away from the media or else he would end up embarrassing himself and Nigeria big time! musicwriter: That's if a manuscript is accepted in the first place. You assume like the other guy that once you send in a manuscript it must get a review. For your information, I follow academia and also do research work, so I know a bit about these things. Many manuscripts (from both whites and blacks) are languishing at various publishing quarters in Europe and America.
And as far as I know, nobody has been misinformed here. |

@Musicwriter: Please stop misinforming people! Review of submitted manuscripts in most international journals is a double-blind peer review process. The identity of both the reviewers and author remain undisclosed throughout the review process. musicwriter: His findings would still have to be accepted by those international journals (people who themselves don't know the solution) before publishing. Don't you think to get the journals to publish his findings would be a challenge on its own?. These journals themselves would snub his findings just because he's a Blackman. Believe it or not.
The response say; an American scholar or British scholar would get for presenting his/her research papers to those journals is different from what you or Mr. Opeyemi would get. Agreed, he is a professor and he know what to do. But, what would you do if you know 1+1 = 2, and no maths journal is ready to even publish you because they believe it will never be right coming from an African?. |

The brouhaha about this issue is uncalled for. Any original piece of work by any researcher would have to be validated by his peers. Thereafter such ground breaking discovery would be disseminated widely via reputable journals in the research area. Thus far, the media is actually harming Dr. Enoch's reputation with this circus show, he doesn't need their support in order to convince mathematical experts about the validity of his work. |

Politics › Re: Buhari Vs Jonathan: Beyond The Election By Charles Soludo by Luchitec(m): 8:26am On Jan 26, 2015 |
No doubt, Prof. Soludo raised some valid points about the state of affairs in the country. However, Soludo's denigration of Peter Obi for leaving funds in Anambra State coffers while at the same time praising OBJ's regime for accumulating a huge external reserve highlights his doublespeak and pettiness. Moreover, if stuffs that transpired in the banking sector during Sanusi's tenure at CBN are put into consideration, then Soludo is actually overrating himself as an economic guru. Chigold101: Soluda has once again proven that he is a weak man. A man i so much loved but his unforgiven spirit is second to none.
Soludo is writing like this against GEJ because GEJ is the reason why he lost Anambra election in 2010(I worked as member of his campaign team).
In 2013 he joined APGA and was talked about how to continue with Obi‘s good work as governor of Anambra state but Obi who already had Obiano in mind used style to push Soludo aside...
He joined Atiku‘s camp in 2011 thinking that GEJ will lose at the PDP primaries, but their camp was disgraced. Now he has come here to cause confusion in the polity because all he wants is to see GEJ disgraced, but it will not work for him in Jesus name.
This is how his unforgiven spirit made him to make sure that Dora Akunyiri (his wife‘s aunty. Dora is the younger sister to the wife‘s mother) never win Anambra central senatoral sit. He took it upon himself to make sure that Ngige is decleard the winner even when there was a little confusion in few constituencie. All because Dora through GEJ & Abuja PDP helped Peter Obi defeat him in 2010.
As an insider who knows the fight going on between Soludo, GEJ & Obi am not suprised at all with the this piece. It has some elements of truth but it is coated with many sweet lies.
He took sabatical after Peter Obi messed him up in 2013 prior to Anambra state guber election. Which sabatical? He went in to leak his wounds...
He thinks he has seen where to nail GEJ. |

Nairaland and double standard.....somebody looted $100 M in an agency chaired by Buhari, and you guys are not asking questions about Gen Buhari's competency as the head of PTF. Jarus: First, we know how contracting is done, not just in Nigeria, but anywhere in the world.
We know there is mark-up on every item by the contractor which is ordinarily not out of place unless it has gone beyond pre-agreed rate. Just calling attention to that, not justifying inflated contracts, if truly inflated.
If I can build a house for N10m with direct labour and supervision, if I hire a contractor, he won't spend same N10m. He would probably spend as much as N15m.
But more importantly, why did THISDAY not tell us why the "committee members were changed before verification"?
That is a very important info THISDAY may deliberately have left out, not to dent the believability of the story.
It may interest readers that the Chairman of this Obasanjo committee, Haroun Adamu, ended up to be the one found wanting at the end of that "probe".Rather than Buhari, it was the "prober" that was jailed for looting $100m of PTF funds. When he came out of prison, he wrote a book to confess that their brief was to disgrace General Buhari. |

Your assertion is wrong. If corruption was not introduced and entrenched by the British, how can Balewa be chosen as the Prime Minister in a country where people like Azikiwe and Awolowo were politically active? Adminisher: Nigerians were not forging certificates in the fifties and sixties. The British were running the country then. Certificate forgery started with the generation of your parents. Politics › Re: Why Did Buhari Sentence Fela Kuti To 10 Years In Prison? by Luchitec(m): 10:42pm On Nov 10, 2014 |
You tried in your explanation but for your information; a former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji equally contravened the law within the same time frame. But, you know what? No legal action was taken against him; He was simply redeployed to another ministry! barcanista: When General Muhammadu Buhari came to power, there was wide corruption in the Second Republic. A decree was passed that nobody take out or bring in foreign currency into the country. Offenders are liable to 10years in Jail. This decree was to curb money laundering by politicians and corrupt businessmen.
FELA KUTI Fela had performed abroad, he was paid in foreign currency in cash and had it on him on his return to Lagos. He was subsequently arrested for breaking the law and was prosecuted, found guilty and jailed.
PLEA: There was a plea by human right groups to Head of State Buhari to "pardon" Fela, he refused because he believe that the law be served to the letter.
THE OFFENSE, GMB AND FELA: First, there was an existing law/decree.
Secondly, Fela bringing in cash means it contradicts the law/decree, however, the money is from hard work. Morally, he's justified! Legally, he is not.
Buhari had refused to grant pardon, because the law was broken. If he grants pardon, some section of politicians will accuse him of preferential treatment. He didn't because he believes in absolute discipline. By law, he is justified. Morally, he is not, considering that it was Fela's sweat(my opinion). The law does not work with emotion unfortunately.
MY OPINION: GMB should have pardoned Fela. The law should have made for exception. Buhari should have tampered justice with mercy |

In the past 15 years or so, the Enugu - Onitsha and Enugu - PH Expressway have been in perpetual reconstruction. The Federal Ministry of Work/FERMA corrupt engineers are actually responsible for the bad state of these two road. Why can't the Ministry/FERMA devise a new reconstruction approach since it is apparent that the seasonal swelling of the clayey sub-soil in some locations along these two road render whatever new asphalt layer placed useless during the rainy season? Of course the kick back the Minister/Ministry engineers receive from perennial maintenance contracts will prevent them from seeking a permanent solution to this mess. In my opinion, Federal Ministry of Works Zonal Coordinators, State Resident Engineers and their staff are the biggest obstacle towards having good road infrastructures in Nigeria, not the politicians. Some of the shoddy maintenance works we see yearly on these roads are actually being handled by incompetent companies fronting for Ogas -at-the-top in the Ministry. |

Finishing a coursework is not a guarantee that Sanusi has an MSc in Economics. I knew guys who could not receive their master degree after completing their coursework because of disagreements with their thesis supervisors. OAM4J: No, check my post history, am one of the people who believed she is one of the best things to happen to GEJ's government. Even though there is little to show for her efforts compare to her tenure with Obj, I believe it is because the system is too corrupt and messed up for her to make meaningful impact.
You mean he failed to personally present his certificates to you and show you his updated resume? No wonder you believe he is intellectually limited.
Sanusi Lamido Aminu Sanusi (. July 31, 1961), Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the grandson of a former Emir of Kano and Islamic Scholar, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi. He started his western education at St. Anne Primary School, Kakuri, Kaduna (1967-1972). He had his West African School Certificate at the prestigious King’s College, Lagos in 1977. He then proceeded to the equally prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1981 and he did the course work for Master of Science degree in Economics with distinction in Monetary Policy in 1983. He earlier did his National Youth Service in former Gongola State (now Adamawa and Taraba States).
Sanusi has been named as the Central Bank Governor of 2010 for both the African continent and the entire world, by the prestigious Banker Magazine

But that began to changed after the Stella-gate. Truly Anti-gej sentiment in Rivers is growing, his govt presence has not been realy felt like Amaechi's. OBJ may be crude, tactless, with many moral frailties; yet he is a far better leader compared to GEJ. ceo4eva: [b] Just within a space of 3 days, OBJ, Tambuwal and Sanusi have all indicted the President of Massive Looting and Unabated Corruption. Moreover, these 3 men are in the same political party (PDP) with Jonathan and not Opposition parties. Though OBJ is not a Saint, but During his Administration, many were booted out due to his Anti-Corruption Campaign starting with people from his South West Region; S.M Afolabi (National I.D Card Scam), Tafa Balogun (former IG of Police), Bode George (NPA Scam), Sunday Einhdero, Chief Babalola and Femi Fani Kayode (former Ministers of Aviation). We hardly hear of Sentiments, Tribalism and Favouritism then. It's now a different story under GEJ. What exactly is the recurring Problem? GEJ only claims to fight corruption with his lips and on the media. If OBJ was still in power, he would have delivered a keynote address during Mandiba's memorial yesterday because you dare not mess up with him. Anyway, GEJ "doesn't give a damn" I still strongly believe that this Jonathan's Administration Cultivates, Breeds, Grows, Nurtures, Fertilizes, Harvests, Packages, and Distributes CORRUPTION.
