Politics › Re: Tinubu Considering ‘Temporary Subsidy’ On Petrol by Luckysbab: 9:34pm On Aug 15, 2023 |
festacman: The good thing about eating one's words is that it doesn't make one fat.
However, this new development even if it is being considered is a red flag that President Tinubu is not as prepared for governance as he campaigned. Unfortunately, not appearing for media interactions or debate didn't help. That President Tinubu knew he would implement the removal of subsidy and floating of Naira soon after inauguration but had no plans to manage the consequences of the these major policy shift paints a scary picture about his future policies.
My suggestion is that Tinubu could go on and appoint Wale Edun the Finance minister as well as appoint his President Economic Team for the usual armchair 'economic indicators' advice. However, he should he headhunt for some young hothead economists and financial experts and place them under his office to serve as his thinktank in brainstorming on policies, creating scenarios, doing risk-benefit analyses, SWOT Analysis, etc to give him the big picture and bird eye view advantages. We need practical ideas from thinking out of box to solve our problems here rather than some textbooks stuff.
How on earth is value of Naira falling and the CBN is speaking grammar. How about rolling about plans with sincere incentives to encourage the local production and exports to cure our trade deficits. Nothing is happening in our economy at the moment. We are just selling crude oil. What about other solid natural minerals? If we share borders with Niger, are we sure we don't have uranium? You must think governance is ABC and there are no policy reviews in the most developed nations. |

jasent: You stylishly mentioned IGR because your man tinubu can task people. All the awards being won by Anambra students as a result of Obi's legacy means nothing to you. Continue to argue blindly I thought you claimed Tinubu’s achievements in Lagos amounts to nothing since other governors after him have done well too. In that light, can’t we claim the same for Obi, since students are still doing well till now? |

However, it’s only rational to be objective, even when criticizing. You can’t be condemning the current man in charge just after so short a time after we are all agreed the immediate past president really messed things up further than he met it. |

Edipet: No measures go work.. Peter Obi gave us the secret. Produce what you consume. Okrika imported Some groceries imported Furniture imported Electronic imported, Some soaps and cream imported, Gas cylinder important. Belgium phone, laptop, electronic. Nothing will save the naira, and our population is increasing, which also increase demand for all this things. More people are going into importation business and them dey use dollar. Encourage farmers, SMEs. Don't use your big car to pepper struggling people so that they can still focus. Empower The youth to start producing what they are capable of, farming, science and Tech, Engineering, fashion, etc And Peter Obi would have made all these happen in two months? |

4lashy: The housing situation in most State Capital is just crazy. Yet, here I am with a 4 bedroom bungalow up for rent in Abeokuta at 500k per annum. People still dey make yanga and no wọn collect am. Remodel it by demarcating into smaller units. 4 bedroom apartment isn’t really fashionable these days. Get a good architect/developer (or whatever they are called) to finely break it into self contain and maybe a 2 bedroom apartment. |

Abujaexpress: In Abuja, you only pay the rent and in most cases 10% agency, 5% and where applicable, service charge/management charge which are usually one-off payment What of short lets? A client needs to be in Abuja for a month. Needs a conducive space, but not too expensive and hotel accommodation might not cut it |
