TEYA: Please as an indigene of Ekiti tell us, is Fayose as popular as some nairalanders make him seem and are his candidate's chances of winning the governorship elections high? What I know is that the hatred for Buhari makes so many to drift towards Fayose because he speaks their minds, they don't take their time to check him out. Fayose uses that strategy to distract people and as a cover up for his excesses, so many got distracted and continue shouting buhari, Buhari everywhere. About Ekiti's election, non payment of salaries will seriously work against Fayose and his stooge, according to my perception, it's 50/50. |

Do you want to tell me fayose is the only corrupt governor/politician in Nigeria? So, why the extra focus on him? Why the focus on him if not because he opposes buhari?
Have you found out if the person I quoted is a Muslim truly or not? Because Fayose is my governor and also a great HYPOCRITE that turns attention of people away from his misdeeds and focus on Buhari as if he is better than the oldman. ishowdotgmail: Just less than 5weeks for the Ekiti state governorship July 14 election, the PDP aspirant Prof Olusola Eleka was spotted frying Akara at the road side in Ado Ekiti today.
As this is the usual act the Governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose always do with the people of Ekiti (connecting with the masses). Olusola Eleka was also seen replicating same love to Ekiti people.
This was shared by the Publicity media aide to the current governor Lere Olayinka.
He wrote:
Humility at its peak as Ekiti State deputy governor Prof Kolapo Olusola serves his aides
••an account of Debola Akingbade
The deputy governor of Ekiti state Professor Kolapo Olusola this morning took leadership to the next level as he put on display rear and extreme level of humility
The PDP governorship candidate who's known for his simplicity, humility and accessibility, this morning exhibited Christ-like attribute that wowed his aides and onlookers.
I don't want to go into the bible this morning, but you all know how Jesus Christ washed the feet of his disciples. Let me give you the hint, John 13:13-17.
Prof Olusola and his entourage on their way to Oko-Aso, Oko Okondo and Aba Fulani in Ikere Ekiti, stopped briefly at Ile-Abiye junction, Ado Ekiti. Those of us in the convoy thought our Principal in his usual manner wanted to respond to cheers and give out cash.
What we all thought he wanted to do was different from what he did. He alighted from his SUV, went straight to an Akara vendor and requested he take charge of the Frying pan.
In a jiffy, his political and official aides surrounded him. He smiled and asked if they care to eat Bread and Akara, the answer was positively chorused, he thereafter served each and everyone of us to satisfaction.
This is a leader I want. This is the Governor we want in Ekiti, a leader, not a boss.
Rare Gem! Rare personality Very rare leader. Like Father like son.. Like Oshoko like his Aremo.

stephanie11: @POLITICSNGR
Senator Dino Melaye, on Monday afternoon, released a lengthy statement detailing how he was arrested by over 200 policemen and attacked by the Federal Government.
Melaye revealed that he was pounced on by the government for speaking the truth and demanding accountability. He also thanked the Nigerian people for standing by him, he praised the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, describing him as a man with a vision for Nigeria.
PoliticsNGR obtained the statement. Read it below;
"1. Someone once said, that, rock bottom is good solid ground and a dead-end street is just a place to turn around. In the last few weeks, I have been taken to the good solid ground at the rock bottom and they couldn’t go further. I have been brought to the dead-end street but with you standing by my side, I have turned around and bounced back to the chagrin of those who sought to seal my lips from speaking out against tyranny, politics of oppression and blackmail. They, unleashed an endless barrage of physical, psychological, metaphysical and emotional torture and assault on me, but, through the power of the Most High, and you the good people of Nigeria, we have once again, seen the triumph of truth over lies and good over evil.
2. It was Edmund Burke who was quoted as saying that when bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, … in a contemptible struggle. I am of all men, a blessed man, to have courageous and dependable people like you as my fellow soldiers in the struggle to free us from the shackles of political strongholds and tyranny. It is to you and my most wonderful and ever knowledgeable people of Kogi State, especially Kogi West, that I owe my deepest gratitude. You stood by me against the state and your own ‘best political self-interest’.
3. The state unleashed its raw power on me and released a 200 man-strong fully armed policemen - on a man without a knife nor a bullet. It did this because I called injustice by its name and called for accountability. For this they sought to break my spirit and destroy me permanently. In their moment of reign, I was fully shackled. With my hands tied to my back, and hurled into a dark solitary confinement waiting for the butchers knife, you, my people stood by me. You came against a raging fire and stood up against tyranny, lies, filthy lucre, injustice, persecution and greed. While in the dark and unable to fight for myself, they sought to take my mandate, which you had freely given to me. But you answered back and quenched deceit in its wake. You stood resolute and unflinching and defended your mandate to me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. In their attempt to break me, they have made me stronger.
4. To you my indefatigable leaders; my irremovable President of the Senate, a man of immeasurable vision for Nigeria and true fighter for the enthronement of true democracy and the rule of law, Sen. (Dr.) Abubakar Bukola Saraki. The fearless Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, I thank you both for your steadfastness in the defence of the Nigerian Constitution and the enthronement of the Rule of Law, justice and equity and the emasculation of anti-democratic forces and tyranny everywhere in Nigeria. I am eternally grateful to you. 5. To the entire National Assembly Membership, especially my colleagues in the Senate, I am eternally indebted to you for not playing politics but standing courageously against oppression and terror. You have shown yourself leaders on whom Nigeria’s hope for tomorrow can be assured.
6. To you our governors, ministers, my dear Okun people and leaders, the National Chairman and Kogi State Executive of the PDP, leaders of the Diplomatic Corps, opinion leaders, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, Chief Ricky Tarfa SAN, human rights lawyers and activists, and all my well-wishers and lovers of democracy in Nigeria; the Christian and Muslim Community, all of you that visited me in the National Hospital, after I was injured and subsequently detained at the hospital. I thank you all for your steadfastness in the defence of due process and the rule of law. I also thank you for your courage and solidarity.
7. Our ever foresighted and courageous civil society leadership, the media, leaders of thought across the country, our hard-working youth for whom I will give my last blood, our loving mothers and sisters, I lack words to express to you my profound gratitude for the unbreakable chord of love that binds me to you through thick and thin. You have strengthened my resolve and hardened my flesh against those who seek to devour and make meat of me. You have once again proven to me the axiom in the saying that “in prosperity, our friends know us; in adversity, we know our friends." I am very grateful. For your sake, I remain unbowed.
8. I know many of you worry about my safety and life in this new dispensation where life is no longer sacred in Nigeria. But do not be troubled. My bond of love for you, my good people, makes it impossible for me to consider my self-risk, safety, comfort or opportunity in my unflinching commitment to stand up for you, to stand up for truth and if necessary die for the truth and the emancipation of our people from the chains of poverty and oppression. Though they raise spurious allegations against me, bear false witness against me, though they seek to frighten me and lure me into their bounty of evil, I will fear no foe.
9. Yes, my traducers and torturers wish that I keep quiet; though they seek to seal my lips, to silence my voice forever, I remain ever more resolute and committed. I am committed to this cause for which I am a politician; the cause of the down trodden, to speak truth to power and stand against oppression and injustice. On these issues there will be no compromise. I owe no apologies and I tender none.
10. Like I have always said, you speak the truth, you die, you don’t speak the truth, you die. I have chosen to speak the truth, dead or alive. Rev. Martin Luther King Jnr., once said, “Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politics? Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But conscience asks the question - is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right.”
11. To my people, I promise you this and this only. I have taken my position, I will not hold back, I will not hold my peace, I will not be shut down, neither will I shut-up, not as long as injustice and falsehood continues to reign, as long as I will live, I will not bow to Baal.
12. May the Almighty continue to keep you all and be your bulwark until victory is assured. Once again, I thank you all so much.
13. God bless you.
14. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

deji17: AMCON takes possession of asset of Nigerian senator, Stella Oduah May 18, 2018
Oladeinde Olawoyin
The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) on Friday took over the asset of Sea Petroleum & Gas Limited and its affiliated companies.
The company is promoted by former Minister of Aviation and Nigerian senator, Stella Oduah.
A statement by Jude Nwauzor, AMCON spokesperson, said the organisation took possession of the company’s asset around 11:00a.m Friday.
The decision followed a judgement by Justice M.S. Hassan of the Federal High Court Lagos Division which granted an injunction against Sea Petroleum Oil & Gas Limited, on the application of AMCON.
“Princess Oduah-Ogiemwonyi, a serving member of the 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has been having a running battle with AMCON over her inability to settle her huge debt of nearly N20billion,” Mr Nwauzor said in the statement sent to PREMIUM TIMES.
“AMCON purchased the Eligible Bank Assets (EBAs) of Sea Petroleum & Gas Limited from Union Bank Plc sometime in 2012. But despite the overtures and genuine efforts made by AMCON to reach an amicable settlement, the Senator and her co-promoters have remained recalcitrant.
“Having exhausted all avenues of peaceful resolution of the humongous debt, AMCON had no other choice than to refer the matter to court. The order also affects Princess Stella Oduah’s other business interests for which AMCON has since appointed Moyosore Jubril Onigbanjo, SAN as Receiver over the assets of Princess Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyi; Sea Petroleum Oil & Gas Limited; Sea Petroleum and Gas FZE as well as Star Tourism and Hotels Limited.”
The court also ordered the freezing of the funds of Sea Petroleum & Gas Limited and its affiliated companies and principal promoters held anywhere by any entity or persons in Nigeria, the statement said.
It also authorised AMCON and its Receiver, Moyosore Onigbanjo, to take over all assets pledged as collateral for the facility by Sea Petroleum Oil & Gas Limited.
“Justice Hassan specifically ordered Sea Petroleum Oil & Gas Limited and its affiliated companies to hand over the company’s business, which sits on over 9000 square metres of land in the fastest developing area of Lagos State along the Lekki-Epe Express Way; two Tank Farms of 500 metric tonnes capacity; a property at Maiyegun Tourism Zone, Lekki Peninsula Scheme 11, Lagos Island and a filling station complex at kilometre 14, Lekki Epe Expressway, Ikota, Lagos State,” the statement explained.
“The court order also listed a host of other assets across the country including Plot 2,block 12C, Babafemi Osapa Crescent Lekki, Lagos State; Block 5, house 4AMobolaji Johnson Estate, Lekki, Lagos State; Office/filling station at Jakande, Lekki, Lagos State; Office complex 1,2 and 3 km 14, Lekki-epe Expressway , Ikota, Lagos State; Filing station Complex at km14, Lekki Epe Expressway, Ikota Lagos State; Staff residential Quarters, Ikota Lagos State; E25-E36, Gat Oboh Drive, Millennium Estate, Oniru, Lagos State and F3-F5, SPG Road, Millennium Estate, Oniru, Lagos State. The rest include, SPG Agungi 2 Lekki Lagos State; Office/Filling station complex at Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, FCT, Abuja; Gas plant at Karu, FCT, Abuja; Filing station Complex, Lugbe, FCT Abuja and Agriculture Farm at Kuje, FCT Abuja.”

Morwendy: Hi. New here but have read threads for years til now and I just have a simple question to ask . Ok, I know how dim I sound but I married my Nigerian husband 8 years ago. Next week, we apply for his permanent leave to remain here. We've been happy enough since we got married, the usual ups and downs but nothing too serious. Anyway, I found that he has a website advertising a business in Nigeria. Asked him about it and he says yes its his but its not up and running yet (like thats why I was mad at him rather than because he set ghis up without even telling me). I was looking at some photos on his site and I came across a poster laying out the days events for his fathers funeral. At the foot of the poster it says 'by [his name but different surname] on behalf of the family. Now, this new surname is the same as his fathers so I believe it to be his true name. Asked him about it and he says that his surname is different to the rest of his family because he chose to take his paternal grandfathers name. I assume his father should also bear the grandfathers name? He just keeps telling me that I don't understand Nigerian customs/traditions but now the word 'scammed' keeps popping into my head. A simple yes or no would be enough - is it usual for a man to NOT take his fathers name? Thanks in advance. this is what you get when you are too inquisitive and not trying to mind your business. Is this the first time people change their surnames or even other names they perceive to be better than the former. Woman!! I suspect you are a quarrelsome person looking for a way to get back at your man., this is no issue at all. Be the friend your man is looking for, and before you know it, he will start telling you things you don't ask for |

EgunMogaji: "From the benefit of hindsight and historically, most distribution of power sectors realised that when you introduce prepaid meters, revenue drops. Because it is prepaid, people get conscious of consumption and they thereby reduce usage. Then we discovered that prepayment leads to more bypassing. If we meter the distribution transformers, at least we can audit and know what energy has gone to a particular area and from there we can then see the bills that have not been issued. We will know that within that locality there is an issue and we can then send our team to go and look at what is happening. We have decided to do a mix: post-paid metering, prepaid metering and also metering the distribution transformers. By this, we will be able to have real case scenarios."

Now the NNPC is the sole importer of petrol and no money is disappearing anywhere as subsidy. The price of rice and other esse rivals rose post 2015 because we didn't have any dollars left after the price of oil tanked! Jonathan fritted everything away on Dasuki, Diezani, Mama peace and traditional rulers. He used our foreign reserves to contest an election he lost! The rest of the dollars he stored in an apartment in Lekki. That s why the price of commodities rose post 2015. There was scarcity of foreign exchange to import anything. But thanks to sound economic management our reserves have risen by more than 60% from 2015 to 2018. Inflation has been trending downwards for close to 10 consecutive months now! You won't know all these because you're an illiterate that uses the price of garri to judge economic policy. Ode!!! Who is this for God's sake! Bro you have made my weekend a wonderful one. engineerboat: EKITI 2018: APC Rescheduled Governorship Primary Sat 12th May Live Updates .
It is no longer news that last Saturday Apc primary ended in a chaos and fiasco which made the election committee to postpone the primary.
Today May 12th had been fixed for the reschedule election.
Follow the thread for a live updates. I don't care who wins this primary election, what I'm after is someone who will make Oshokobastard Fayose pay for how he has turned Ekiti workers to EDUCATED BEGGARS. And going round deceiving everyone that he's lover of the people. In fact anyone that would not cover Fayose's sins will do |

HeWrites: A lady who was let down by her parents after she got pregnant before marriage, has become a manager and now takes care of her parents and siblings.
Ogbaji Comfort got pregnant out of wedlock and gave birth to a baby girl. This angered her parents and her mother placed a curse on her. Both parents abandoned her and refused to sponsor her education. But she worked to see herself through school, according to a story she shared.
Her problems continued when she tried to get a job. She was abused physically, sexually, and emotionally by her bosses. Eventually, she got a job as a cook in a company and rose from being the cook to being the manager of the company. She now takes care of her parents and siblings who abandoned her initially, according to her.
She shared her grass to grace story to encourage people who are suicidal as a result of problems they are currently facing.
Sharing her story on Instagram, she wrote: "I thank God for who I am today.i taught I have seen it all, after having a baby out of wedlock, rejected by my parents.
My mum placed a cursed on me out of anger for getting pregnant out of wedlock as the only daughter.
After child birth, I applied for national diploma without a penny in my pocket. I was given an admission, I went home to tell my dad, my dad said he is not ready to waste money again, my brother became the most loved. But I didn't give up.
I went to school with faith, I sell satchet water for money, from satchet water I started making hair, fixing nails and lashes for money. Every Friday I will go to market to hawk for money.
After my ND certificate. I went to Lagos, my life in Lagos started as a house help. I was beaten to coma by my boss for drinking water from the water dispenser instead drinking tab water. He used my salary to pay my hospital bills, I went back to my cousin house.
Life in Lagos was terrible, I was raped, scammed, sexually abused. One day I received a call from my agent, I went for the interview, got the job as a chef in a hotel out side Lagos, from chef I became the manager .
I went back to the village enrolled my daughter into the best school in taraba state, started paying my elder brother school fees. Now he is a graduate of biochemistry, started a business for my mother also supported father in his farming business.
Am now the breadwinner of the family, nothing happen without my approval. Suicide is not an option, don't give up"
