AWONEYAN: Oga stomach infrastructure carry your neck pain alone. The people who voted you out did that happily because your lies are open to them . you have turned the hard working people of ekiti to beggars. On Christmas and sallah days, you gave them cups of rice and chicken and they will que to collect it. Their children will que for festival uniforms cos their parents can't afford to get new cloths for them. While your own children are painting the town red with flashy cars.
You are quick to attach God to your sentiments.
Console your self now because a book of remembrance of your sin are now opened. Remember how you drag a king into a car boot, banished house of assembly members who are not on your side out of the town....

Education › Re: ASUU Decries Fg’s Indifference To Education Sector by Lumig: 9:59am On Aug 08, 2018 |
sophsia62: Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has decried the indifference exhibited by the Federal Government to the university system of the country amidst other issues currently bedevilling the country’s polity.
Addressing journalists, yesterday, in Calabar, Cross River State, at the end of National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of ASUU, its President, Mr Biodun Ogunyemi, said they were angry with the current position of the Federal Government on education because it had shown less concern to the growth of the system. Ogunyemi said the Federal Government was not interested in the growth and development of the education sector because from the budgetary allocation, which was 11 per cent in 2015, is now a little above seven per cent in 2018. He said: “Since the return to civil rule in 1999, the highest budgetary allocation to the education sector was in 2015, when government allocated 11.75 per cent to education. However, in the 2018 budget, the allocation to the education sector fell to a scandalously low point of seven per cent. This is also unacceptable. “NEC reviewed the state of affairs in our country with special focus on the crisis in the education sector, the increasing despondency among the generality of the citizenry owing to the hazy political environment foisted on the people of Nigeria by politicians of the ruling class, the inclement economic atmosphere that has continued to produce joblessness, hampered productive activities and the development of productive capacities, the total disconnect between the government and the Nigerian people at every tier of our political structure. “ASUU as a union of patriotic intellectuals is compelled, once again, as in our established tradition, to call the attention of Nigerians to the multiple malaises that have constantly conspired and are still conspiring against our developmental aspiration as citizens in the Nigerian state. “As a union in the education sector, we have the duty to the Nigerian people to assess and report on the state of our universities, which is gravely disturbing. Education, which is the kernel of transformation in any society, is being treated with levity in Nigeria. “The ruling class in Nigeria has constantly refused to pay due attention to the significant place of education in the improvement of the living standards of the people. Promising pronouncements by politicians about education notwithstanding, no state in Nigeria has an all-round internationally competitive system of education. Yet, Nigerians are widely acknowledged to be among the most intellectually endowed in the world, judged by their performance in all parts of the world. The Nigerian society is left to drift because of the neglect of the educational sector, especially the Nigerian University system (NUS),” he said. Speaking further, he said “The Chairman of the Government Renegotiating Team, has constituted a stumbling block to the process of the renegotiation. He has arrogantly exhibited “I-know-it-all” attitude and also conducted himself as a judge, instead of a negotiator.

Politics › Re: The 11 Sins Of Daura That Led To His Sack by Lumig: 9:54am On Aug 08, 2018 |
PassingShot: Some of you lack cognitive reasoning. It's the more reason many Nigerian youths are unemployable.
First, the senate was on recess. So, it was impossible for the senate to have reconvened without being officially called back by its leadership.
Secondly, two-third majority is required to impeach Saraki and APC does not have that number. So, how could he have been impeached?
Thirdly, it was PDP senators shouting for days of a plot to impeach Saraki on Tuesday even without any cogent evidence. It was same PDP led by Sarathief that conspired with Daura Secret Service (DSS) to deploy armed men to NASS to act out a script in their well-planned drama. If not, how come the APC senators that were alleged to be plotting impeachment were not seen anywhere near the Assembly Quarters?
Fourthly, antecedents of Saraki with Daura have revealed the unholy relationship between the two. It was Daura that produced the biased report used by the Senate not to confirm Magu (twice). It was Daura that prevented EFCC from arresting former DSS boss who is a loyalist of PDP. It was Daura who was repported to be having meetings in the dead of the night with Saraki.
The question sane minds should ask is: If Daura was not being used by Sarathief, how come the idiot of a SP or PDP has not welcomed the sacking of the DSS DG?
Clearly, the alliance between Daura and Sarathief/PDP has come a full circle and it has been exposed. Daura was the enemy within who was revealing top govt plans and directing the scripts acted by Sarathief and PDP.
PMB sometimes is too slow in acting. Daura could have as well engineered his overthrow if he was not axed yesterday. ... Well said brother. Daura and the DSS have been romancing the Senate for a while |

Bilaludeen: Despite complaints of inadequate funding by the existing agencies, the Federal Government on Tuesday began the process to establish two new agencies.
Inaugurating an Inter-ministerial Committee on the establishment of new agencies - National Agency for Desertification & Erosion Research (NADER) and National Agency for Research in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence (NARRAI) – in Abuja, the Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu said the two agencies would be established if the Federal Executive Council approves the committee’s report which should be turned in by August ending.
“We need to ensure that no aspect of science or technology would be strange to Nigerians so robotics and artificial intelligence is important now in study of our oceans and even infrastructural development
“We need to make sure that these two areas are domesticated. We would train those that are competent in this area and make sure they can utilize the tools to solve our national problems
“The second research institute would be for desertification and erosion research. We have seen that we are losing a lot of our land due to desert encroachment. Many villages have been taken over by Sahara desert in the north-west to north east. Lake Chad is about 10 percent of what it used; it has shrunk completely. All these have been caused by desertification”, Dr Onu said.
He said there was no way Nigeria could pursue rapid industrialization without doing effective research on robotics and artificial intelligence.
According to the minister, Nigeria mustn’t depend on other country to solve its problems hence the need for the two agencies.
He said some of the economic problems in the country cannot be excluded from the shrinkage of Lake Chad adding that the reduction of water in Lake Chad is creating tremendous problems which must be solved.
He said: ‘’The erosion is widely felt in the West, East and even the South- south and gradually we are losing land to erosion and land is a valuable asset because you cannot do anything towards national development without land.
"These are national problems that science and technology ministry is taking very serious. We would also look at the impact the study would have towards solving the economic problems and promotion of peace and make sure we are able to secure our nation.http://surecontents..com/2018/07/fg-moves-to-establish-two-new-agencies.html Hmmm. These are very good agencies, I love it. The robotics and AI agency would really revolutionize our ICT industry. Kudos to the FG |
