If you ave a plan, the funds and a strong foundation (in your relationship) then do it. Please yourselves in this lifetime. Others will come around.
Celebrities / Re: Are Gays Really Sinners? by lunafish(f): 6:21pm On Feb 08, 2007
No. Homosexuality is a divine creation. Like everything else.
Unfortunately; intolerant Christians use their orientation as an excuse to persecute them and displace their insecurities, faults and guilts onto them.

Peace to all people and respect to those who've come out.

Your bravery is a gift.

Romance / Re: Are Virgins Still Respected? by lunafish(f): 6:14pm On Feb 08, 2007
I am pro-"fornication."
I don't believe it's a sin.
I never have.
I never will.

I think we should show greater concern to peoples' character than their sexual activity. As long as condoms are always used to prevent pregnancy and STDs, both parties consent and are of consentual age. There is no problem.

I am pro-"fornication."
I don't believe it's a sin.
I never have.
I never will.

BTW, why are church people so obsessed with virginity like that's the sexual sin you should consider as depraved. How about the molestation that goes on in the church and the home?
Romance / Re: What Qualities Make A 'Real Man'? by lunafish(f): 6:07pm On Feb 08, 2007
Freestyl:

An ability to think about what's best for everyone, not just him. A genuine wish to make others happy, not just to get his own way. Being firm about things that matter, more relaxed about things that don't matter so much. Being able and willing to listen to other points of view. An ability to keep his temper, even under trying circumstances. Keeping a sense of humour, and not taking the whole thing too seriously

Peace and blessings to freestyl.

As for you bima4u2c- are you so idealistic and naive that you think that being a virgin will make your future wife respectable? it takes a lot more than that. Marry a HUMAN not a HYMEN. You'll be very disappointed if you tink she can't have an "impure" character.
Romance / Re: What Qualities Make A 'Real Man'? by lunafish(f): 6:03pm On Feb 08, 2007
A real man;
knows who he is, won't compromise his integrity, stands up for what he believes in, strives to be the best he can be and is respected by everyone who knows him. He makes women look at him and think "Whatta man!" Not just because he looks good in a suit but because we admire his humanity, character and the way he carries himself.

In short a real man has his shit together. And he knows it.

Untitled. (Excerpt from chapter one)

DamonaRedRice

Nicole knew that fraternizing was forbidden in the office. Although the staff spent 17 hours in close proximity, daily; sleeping with a co-worker was strictly against the protocol. Somehow she couldn’t deign to care. Her traumatic childhood and tumultuous career had given her enough emotional baggage and physical pain that she saw this affair as some sort of recompense. She deserved Antonio. And in her mind he almost deserved her. She repeatedly told herself to never give a man more that he gave in return; to make him love you more, and want you more. That was her code of ethics or mode of operation rather. But above all; it was a defence mechanism which left no room for her to be hurt.

Those years in Phoenix, Arizona where they tasted what it meant to be in love, truly, for the first time. She had never known anything better. In the back of her mind, she wondered if he had. Reminding herself of his divorce she remembered that he couldn’t have. Could he? He described a suspect as “hot” more than once, and she was very familiar with his sexual innuendo in the office. It was discreet yet unmissable. Sometmes standing next to him was enough for her to feel his warmth and reminisce…No wonder why she had been feeling more violent than usual. The punching dummy felt it as well. With every strike, punch, kick and impact; she was letting out her sexual frustration.

As tough as old boots, she was still a woman. As well as a agent. It seemed that Antonio was the only man who understood that. She thought back to when she nearly shot him in Phoenix while undercover as a gang member. The Untouchables, they called themselves. They were holding the daughter of a pharmacist hostage. A street pharmacist. “Dr.” Warren Hutt was a drug baron who worked at a medicinal distribution company. He conspired with the powers that were to import crack into the country under the guise of a “trial cure for blood pressure.” He had employed the gang to deliver the “cure” across town and gave them a measly 3% of the profit. When they got wind of his fortune, Nicole found herself in the thick of it all. She used her knowledge of guns and other street weaponry to become one of them. By the time the FBI busted in, Nicole was face to face with the love of her life and had to shoot him. Antonio took two bullets in the vest and Nicole was “arrested.”

Their Director put a 7 year sentence of Nicole’s record (easily accessible to the gang’s hacker.) The little girl saw her father for the last time, in handcuffs. He and the gang are currently serving twenty to life. Nicole got a promotion. Antonio got a raw deal. As they rode out of town, Nicole felt the weight of guilt descend upon her. She knew that she did her duty, but she couldn’t rebuke the responsibility. She sat in the back of the police car consumed by what she had done. Antonio refused to see her at the hospital and Nicole was devastated.

One week later they were reunited and it didn’t feel so good. There was a tense silence for the hour-long drive they took together. Every time Nicole tried to muster up a explanation; she failed. There were no worthy words to be found. She blamed herself for everything wrong in his life; her emotions were reminiscent of those of her childhood. She felt out of place; the problem child who caused everyone else’s heartache; the one who deserved what she got. Antonio felt Nicole slipping away as though they were only connected by space. He knew that it wasn’t her fault. His pain was physical but he knew that hers wouldn’t go away. He broke the silence.
Family / Re: Please Help, My Wife Wants To Leave Me by lunafish(f): 3:39pm On Sep 23, 2006
Your wife wants to leave you for your continued insensitivity and for taking advantage of her kind nature.

Every one has expectations in a relationship, a set guide on how they want to be treated by their partner. But when their partner wrongs them and they forgive, they bend and compromise what they want. Your wife has been bending so much she has two choices; stay and let her back break or stand up and walk.

They say you never miss your water until the well runs dry; women will gladly give a man all he needs as long as he can do the same. You have failed at this. You would continuously do things that hurt your wife (regardless of whether she is conscious) so what on Earth makes you think that you deserve to be with her?

Your wife has learnt that her over-compromising makes her unhappy and she's not with a man who takes responsibility for his actions and tries to change. You even had the audacity to say that your marriage was great until recent times ie you starting being held accountable for your wrongs.

I've taken heed from this situation and I know that I will not take advantage of someone who loves me even if I can get away with it. I also will not be in your wife's position on being treated less than a Queen by a man I treat like a King.

@comechop

Stop being extreme on this issue. Non-violent disciplinarian parents are still parents and disciplinarians. Their expectations for their childrens' behaviour is the same as any other parent. Being non-violent will give your child a wonderful life skill called self control. This requires being able to behave well in any environment without having to be forcefully coerced e.g. beaten. Many beaten children are violent and become bullies because they feel like a powerless underdog/victim. They then steal their power back by bullying others or their own children. Pass down something more useful to your kids han how to be "handy" wiith a belt or a slipper. Communication as a part of discipline allows a child to learn about reasons and repercussions so it's an actual lesson. By the way, has it ever occurred to you that when you felt bitter towards your father (when you were beaten) the emotion of bitterness clouded your vision to the lesson your father was trying to teach you. How many years did it take for you to understand what he was trying to teach you?

@ Seun
Thank you. I know that when I have children no-one will have the right to lay their hands on my children besides my own mother (that wouldn't happen - she loves kids too much.) I would never allow their father to hit them; he'd hit me first (can you say Divorce?)

People- you can raise respectful children without hitting them: it just takes some actual effort. You get out of your children what you put in them. So if you want some passive-aggressive, intimidating, withdrawn and non-expressive children keep hitting them.
Family / Re: Parents: Is It Time To Spare The Rod? by lunafish(f): 8:42am On Sep 10, 2006
Beating a child doesn't give them a sense of morality. It just teaches them how to duck and to fear. It also tells them that all wrong things deserve the same punishment so it's counter productive. A lot of kids get so used to being beaten that it has no effect and just makes them aggressive and non-communicative. I don't plan to hit my children when I have them but that doesn't mean that they won't have good home training.

Romance / Re: Two People In Love May Not Be Fit For Marriage? by lunafish(f): 8:49pm On Aug 24, 2006
What determines longevity in marriage?

Knowledge of your personalities, pasts, goals, families, wants, needs, perspectives.
An ability to be independent of each other in a way that compliments your lifestyles; couples who spend too much time together don't last, omit each others' dreams and build resentment.
Maturity.
An understanding of your vows; not bending and breaking them to suit yourselves or hold the other person in a subordinate position.

Chis Tucker is an idiot. He does stupid, slapstick based comedy that is of no consequence. He's a general annoyance to me.

Chris Rock is the most socially conscious, witty, intelligent and honest comedian out there ight now, he's a credit to his art and I respect him tenfold.
