uboma:Uboma, you have declined to join the whatsapp group and there are a couple of us abuja owners who would love information such as spare parts sellers! ![]() |
Kia Owners forum? What is this? We all know KIA's have no SOUL Get it? ![]()

Siena:Everytime i see your A8, I silently whisper to myself 'I'm a BMW guy but the D3 A8 in my opinion looks the best when compared to its rivals from BMW and Mercedes. I think, could I possibly own one? Am I willing to sell my soul to the devil to maintain it in Nigeria?' Did i just type that out in Public? ![]() |
uboma:Uboma, why aren't you in the whatsapp group. Post you number and get added asap. |

I'll just chime in here and say I think all these accident threads are stupid! People have accidents everyday. Its a shame when one loses a loved one in an accident. For the sake of their families, Please leave the news reporting to the media. Do you get a rise out of despair and tragedy? Respect the dead people and say a prayer for their souls. Do not go posting it up on social media. And if you do insist you must post it, please hot link the website that has the images. Dont go embedding images on here. The moderators should clamp down on this. As i consider it a shameful act. I'm subscribed to several forums and never have i seen images involving ghastly accidents in any of the threads. It's almost as stupid as the ones that post these on facebook and instagram. /Rant. |
Hey Siena, tell us more about this satin paint. Is it pricey? Do you know where I can buy it? Attached is my E46. I had it painted on Nigeria but I quite fancy a change and yours looks good. I'd I could but the paint , then I could get it done cheaper and obviously better.

He can't post naira due to the fact that the naira is rather unstable now. That 525 is the dogs bollocks by the way. Lovely car! |
The NSX was just under $5,000. It's actually crazy because looking online the cheapest I could find was just under $30,000. Not sure much savings could be had if it were exported to 'murica. The m3, $4,000. The S2000 was the priciest at $8,500 since it was a for sale car that had picked up no interest at all. |
So, typically auto restoration is not really a thing in Nigeria, often supercars and not so supercars have been left rotting in the dust due to A. Incompetent mechanics B. Competent but eye gougingly expensive mechanics (I know this first hand, a recommended Nairaland mechanic once quoted 70k for a used E46 steering rack) bought it for 15k, less than 2 miles away at Gudu. It's a little wonder that the average Nigerian goes for Toyota and Honda vehicles because of incompetence and/or expenditure. So I've found a couple of barn finds or cars that have been abandoned by their previous owners due to 1. Too much money 2. See A and B above. I present to you, in order of importance / rarity / desirability to me. Acura/Honda NSX - Now for the price I found this, I would snap it up in an instant. Dirt cheap and abandoned and unloved. If I had a couple of millions stashed away I could have begun a thread like CityNG or Siena. Alas I can just wish away. BMW E46 M3 - This obviously looks in a sorry state but to my surprise, it cranked up right away. Some money into this and it could be restored for a nice profit. Cheap also. Shame money is tied up. Honda S2000 - also spotted this one abandoned in these Abuja streets. Affordable and runs and drives. Perfect for those top down weekend jaunts. Plus it's got 'Vtec yo!' I'm sure there are many more exotics lost and rotting away in compounds and garages. Who knows, with the right injection of funds, I could actually go professional. Have you spotted anything lately?

Hi CityNG, I mean an honest to goodness murican car. Did or GM. Jeep/Chrysler is not on the cards as I'm not sure about them. For the sporty category, I Did consider a GT mustang of 05 - 09. Midsize category, maybe a Cadillac CTS or Lincoln Ls. Full size, definitely one of the panther platform cars (mercury marauder or P71 Police Interceptor). From all readings on the net. Due to the previous use of crown victoria as taxis, parts are cheap and abundant. Despite being as ugly as sin one would have thought they would have found their way to Africa. |
American Cars get a lot of flack from the media and on social sites. What is really wrong with them? I have scratched most of my car itches (German, Japanese) and I really want to fulfil my American car itch. Is there anything catastrophically wrong with American Cars? Personally I'd love to own something based on the Ford panther platform. A full sized American land yacht. Crown Vic, grand marquis or town car. These can be gotten really cheap now and I'm sure body on frame will fare better on our roads. Anyone have any experience with these or other cars? |
angels09:Lol! I expected more respected members of the community like Auhanson to respond. The reason I asked was I have a C200 sport coupe I could use but I'm unwilling to sink money into a money pit. Check my profile for my current car.

From this section, it is safe to surmise that Mercedes aren't really reliable at all. All I see posted are issues and issues. Say it ain't so? |
No we don't. Please enlighten us further |
abatically:Wrong wrong wrong!! The Tundra was created to compete in the American Full size truck market. So far, its only beat out the Chevy Avalanche which isnt really a serious Work horse. So tell me dear sir, is it really a beast in its class or is it a 'Me too' that just get along?

Submission number 2. People waiting to cross airport road, a very busy dangerous road right under a pedestrian bridge. You can't fix stupid.

egesie:To the far left and up. When pushing left you must pass some resistance before going upwards. |
Hello Folks, I have, as well as several others, noticed that the Autosbay (as well as his sub-clones) may not be completely human (maybe some sort of artificial intelligence). Most of his posts have a. either been copied blatantly from the net b. just a repeat of the same thing His topics have almost beat Econelectrics as the most pointless guff ever. The weird thing is, some of his posts seem completely human whilst others are very bot-like. Either way, I propose he gets a ban. A recurring trend is for another of his acolytes to copy a post off yahoo and for him to reply with an answer off that yahoo post. A couple of nairaland threads he has posted in, and their original posts on Yahoo. https://www.nairaland.com/2038969/1st-car-bmw-e36-325i yahoo post - https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071018174147AAEoAqU For Bemshawn, He apparently has a Porsche, a BMW and several others also notice Autosbay is always quick to reply. https://www.nairaland.com/2028101/there-chance-porsche-cayman-2014 Yahooo post - https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140102094439AAVlBbv https://www.nairaland.com/2039013/bmw-e90-320i-motorsport-central Yahoo https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120128012722AAiwjCj https://www.nairaland.com/2028121/someone-give-me-insight-bmw Yahoo https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070601114311AAKRQsK https://www.nairaland.com/2015875/what-courses-required-get-associates Yahoo https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100901113648AAwcIWW https://www.nairaland.com/2012370/what-some-good-brands-automotive Yahoo https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090204184744AA5ajFv https://www.nairaland.com/2009551/whats-difference-between-gm-diagnostic yahoo https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120829201406AAQBAo5 I can go on and on with these 3, but it is immediately apparent that these 3 entities are linked and need to be banished from these forums. For instance, These are Autosbay's stats Time registered: October 16, 2014 Time spent online: 15 days & 23 hours Compared to mine Time registered: January 07, 2008 Time spent online: 13 days & 18 hours I know some people love nairaland but 15 hours in approx 2 months is pushing it. So people (Mods) are we banning them or what? |
Crap! I just filled her up with 20W-50. Need to throw up all that junk and fill her up with the recommended oil. Is Milemaster 5w-30 any good? How many quarts will fill her up? i might just do the servicing at home myself. |
FiftyFifty:FSH - Full Service History Yes My BMW has 144,000 original miles, which is over 230,000km. One owner, Fully stamped BMW logbook and service history From Sytner BMW And had just gotten a fresh set of Continental ContiSport Contact 5 tyres all round when i got her. |
This post is dedicated to the most ridiculous thing you saw on the road. Either going to work, going home or just Pootling about town. I'll start with this one. Early 90's Honda Accord, with a fart-can exhaust. It sounded so thunderous I thought it was one of the God's from Alfalterbach behind me. I quickly trafficated to make way and glanced in my side view mirror. Only to see a Honda. He finally overtook and I saw that despite the ridiculous exhaust, he had an //M badge.... On a Honda. Go ahead chaps, post away what you saw and captured on your camera's. P. S. Taking photos whilst driving is rather dangerous and the OP will not be held liable if you are stopped by road safety. Over the weekend I did a major suspension overhaul. Changed literally everything front and rear. This is how she sits now. A tad but higher but at least all those speed bumps from hell aren't wrecking my underbelly.
|
FiftyFifty:I dont think 185,000km is very high. it all depends on how the car was treated before she got to that level. Was it a one owner car? Does it have FSH? Were those city or highway miles? Those are more important questions to ask than the mileage. My E46 just clocked 145,000 miles (233,000km). and she still purrs along beautifully. What do you guys service your vehicles with? 5w-30 or 20w-50? |
chucky234:False! All 3 generations of the RX are available in Blighty. |
The exact same question has been asked 11 months ago on Yahoo. With the exact same reply. Hmmmmmmm https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140102094439AAVlBbv I vote for the OP and Autosbay to get a ban. |
rickkid:Well, seeing you drive a Rio, I'm not too shocked at your attraction to mediocrity. |
Lmao
|
rickkid:Oh my! Such an intellectual and witty comment. I absolutely have no comeback for that. :barf Related. I would drive a second hand 1m naira car all day than in one of those. Have they been crash tested? What are their frontal impact scores? I'm as patriotic as the next man but when an indigenous car manufacturer blatantly rips off existing vehicles, I lose all respect for them. |
Well, lookee here, Vauxhall and Toyota clones! Absolute Filth! |
