@Ilish, Any luck with Yahsat 1 at your end? Rgds. |
@Patexik, we are not always on the forum when a question is asked. Sometimes you log on and you find a question that was asked an hour ago has already been answered but if you think the answer can be improved or made clearer it should be permissible to say so. I hope it is allowed on the forum to do so as otherwise the first person who anwers a question has vitually a property licence on the topic. I am willing to be guided. |
@Gadotor I was satisfied with your first answer. But the second suggests you took offence. This is how I heard the conversation between you and Patexit: Patexit posted this twice: Can sombody tell me about this intel sat 17 @ 66 E, Can I enjoy it with strong srt 4663 Mpeg 2.Clearly looking for channels to enjoy on 66E with his SRT 4663. No one answered him. Finally he noticed that Gadotor was logged on to the forum and he posted this: Gadotor, my man!! Please tell me about this intelsat 17 @66e I want to know how many channels and the frequency my email = >>patexik@yahoo<<.com I'm expecting your reply, Thanks.Gadotor replied: It,s a wonderful channels at 66e ku just after 68.5e infact 2''-4'' between them, but at the moment they are all pay channels now. only some few channels of teaching of some universities of south africa. thank youI suspected that the first part of the answer clearly raised expectations as words like “wonderful channels” sounds like they are watchable. The last part which indicated that they were not viewable didn’t come out strongly and clearly enough as “pay channels” doesn’t clearly say that you can’t watch them. Patexit wrote: My Gadotor!! Thanks u very much for u to answer me what I ask u. Infact from now on!! U will continue to increase in talent and wisdomClearly excited about the answer. Then Gadotor named the channels on the sat and wrote: The channels m-net,csn,e.tv,vuzu,blitz,mstar,action,mzansi,kowee,ericsson,traffic, mindset, traffic car1,mindset learn, mindset health, unisa, use 11505 H 12437, 11556 H 20130 To track your signals. thank youI suspected that the two were not understanding each other as these frequencies seemed to suggest how to track these great channels when actually they are scrambled. The next question by Patexit confirmed my fears: @Gadotor, Can I get that 2 frequencies with 90cm dish in Nigeria West Africa? At this point I thought it in order to ask Gadotor to clarify himself to avoid Patexit struggling to nail the sat only to find out after succeeding that the “wonderful channels” are scrambled. Does that help, Gadotor? |
The channels m-net,csn,e.tv,vuzu,blitz,mstar,action,mzansi,kowee,ericsson,traffic,mindset,traffic car1,mindset learn, mindset health, unisa, use 11505 H 12437 11556 H 20130 To track your signals.thank you.@Gadotor, are you saying these are viewable or they are scrambled? If they are scrambled whats the point in tracking them? |
This house is deserted. Pls the founders come back and make it more greater. The Freshers cant do it alone. Pls come back to your usual great contributions. The house have really missed you all. OLOFOFO, BADARU, TWINSTAIYE AND TWINSKENNY, GADOTOR AND THE REST pls come back we need you so much. The spirit is going down. Dont let it fall ooooooooooooooooooooooLook at it this way: You are a founding Guru. You have your 3m solid prime dish powered by an inverto ultra black quad LNBF permanently welded to nilesat 201, You have your other 3m mesh dish motorised with 2 Cband and one KU band LNBF roaming the skys from NSS7 to Thaicom 5 and feeding your magic assisted HD box connected to a 42 Inch Flat screen LCD TV with audio being pumped through a 2000 watt home theatre sytem. Can you even begin to wrap your mind around that blockbuster experience? how many channels that is? Now, how much time would you have to came to the forum to answer basic fresher questions? ![]() |
@all, the audio on NBC TV on Intelsat 10-02, 1W Cband, has interference from one of the radio stations on the same frequency. Any idea how this sort of thing can be sorted out Thanks. |
Amazing! what was the announcement about then? |
It can work if you use a usb Modem where the usb modem is used for uplink while the dongle is used for down linkI have been to other forums where this was a hot topic. All discussions usually end inconclusively. Two scenarios are postulated": 1. Your decoder "harvests" internet data which others are downloading and passes it on to your computer. This is not surfing because you can't request what you want from the internet. 2. You subscribe to a genuine internet service provider through dial-up or broad band and make data requests the normal way but then your data gets send to the satellite to be boadcast to the entire footprint and you collect your data via your decoder to your computer. This way they say you get unlimited download volume because you supposedly by pass the internet service provider who would otherwise bill you for the data. How the server gets told to send data to the satellite IP address rather than to the requesting dial-up IP address is not explained. 3. Now we have Privaze's version which says you dont even need the decoder. Decoder is not needed here. Just check your pc you'll see de 2rsr port then u connect it there via the dongle cable but the head must be change to fit in.presumably you connect the D**le directly to the PC to access internet by unknown means. This is what stumps me. |
Privaze should be a joker, for the simple reason that a dongle is designed for a different purpose i.e to view channels using keys "card shared" via satellite sort of. This is a one way listening system. The internet is a password enabled two way dialogue system. You need a domain, username and password that are registered by the service provider. Those are the "keys" that allow you to make data requests and have those requests answered in real time. How will the dongle generate those and have them registered with the internet service provider? |
FYI-If you have an old D+gle, try to take it apart and study the circuitry to see if any resistors can be bridged or removed to make or prevent it from ever expiring again. From the excitement here I thought these things last for ever. They last like for how long? |
TVC 4 W4 11221 h 30000 was showing scrumbled this morning. Was nice while it lasted. |
@all, the last two days most channels on intelsat 7/10 68.5E KU have been crackling on my srt4930, though showing quality 72%-78%. Anyone experiencing the same or has my dish moved? |
@Lovala: I once had a problem like yours hitting only 55% quality, the sat meter just nodding abit to indcate the sat. What I did was to unsrew my 90cm dish and put it on the verandah facing down. I noticed that two sides touched the verandah while two sides where in the air. I pressed it gently until the entire ream touched the verandah on all sides. When I put it back and tracked W3A the sat metre swang wildly to the right and I have been hitting 75%-80% since then. ![]() |
@Microgi@nt of Yenagoa, thanks Bro. Rgds, |
@all, I once saw a picture of a dish by one of the gurus here showing 3 LNBFs on one motorised dish, 2 Cband (one with teflon, one without) and 1 KU. My interest is in how the single Cband LNBF holder was cut to accomodate the three LNBFs. But I cant remember the thread or page where the picture is and I am stumped on how to search for the picture. Can anyone remember that thread? Thanks. |
This is getting to be a flame war. Someone with a legal mind needs to step in and help us. As a layman I googled the internet and came across a discussion where a similar topic was discuused and this sentence rang a bell about our debate here: "Free to air= Legal, Modified fta box = Illegal. That's it in a nutshell. If you're using an FTA receiver for it's "intended" purpose, i.e.; receiving FTA channels, then it's 100% legal to do so. IF you've modified that receiver by loading 3rd party software into it to intercept or decrypt proprietary signal from Dish Network, Bell Express Vu, or any other satellite content provider, then it is 100% ILLEGAL." I saw a picture of a microbox dongle on the internet and it seemed it is labeled as an FTA reciever. In Its sold state it can't decrypt an encrypted channel just like a Strong reciever or dreambox can't. So the manufacturer is in the clear. You have to go to a site to download firmware written by unknown people that when loaded now turns the "dongle FTA reciever" into a dongle descrambler of encrypted channels. Again the manufactuer is in the clear because he is not responsible for what customers or third party software makers do to the reciever. The people who wrote the software are in the clear because they are anonimous and the download site could be located halfway round the world in a country where the law and rights of the channels being affected can't apply or the servers are in an anonimous basement somewhere on earth. If you as a dongle buyer in Africa are cought by say D**TV you are within their foot print and jurisdiction in a country where they have been lincensed to do business and if found you can be procecuted using your countrys laws . You are only in the clear because they dont know you are using a dongle or where you are and they can't do a door to door search all over the country. Everything we do beyond FTA is at owners risk. What about the forum owner? There is something called abetting crime. If people use your house to plan a robbery or as a crime training college and you know about it but allow them to continue are you in the clear? This is dicy, thats why there is a risk of the forum owner closing the sub-forum if we continue with public and open discussion of the dongle thing and we all lose. Maybe in the past dicussion was open about this because we didnt know about the implication but if you ask the gurus of the house they might tell you that there are lessons they learnt over the years on what is required to protect the forum. I am a member of an Australian forum where similar issues are discused and in there they were able to quote specific written legal warnings that they recieved from service providers which led them to restrict certain discussions or posting of keys just like this forum is doing. How then can you learn about this stuff? By pm, email, phone, or the so called backyard, if you are a member, away from the open forum. You can also visit the other sites that dont care about being closed down or that have immunity which this site I would think doesnt have. As an example the Crosat site has this sentence at the bottom of the page: "Terms of use. By entering this site you hereby agree to these terms and conditions. Code 431.322.12 of the Internet Privacy Act signed by Bill Clinton in 1995. Code 431.322.12 established that you can not threaten our ISP(s), Internet Service Providers, or any person(s) or company(s) storing these files, and can not prosecute any person(s) affiliated with this page, which includes family(s), friends or individuals who own, run from this web-site. By continuing to enter this site, you are expressly and impliedly agreeing to all terms as stated above, and affirm that you are in compliance with all federal, state and local laws concerning the content of this site." I am sure our Nigerian brothers are not protected by this Bill Clinton law. So lets help them by cooperating with the rules of the forum. |
@Thuggle, I checked W2A yersterday. Those channels are not on W2A 10E, they are probably on W4/7 36E. But I have currently no dish pointed on W4/7 so cant check that sat. Rgds, |
@Wellydra mkomana, NSS 12 57E you get with 90cm dish plus KU LNBF. Arabsat 5A 30.5E you get with 1.8m dish plus C band LNBF. Circular signal is stronger than Linear on this sat so place dialectric plate in throat of LNBF. There are two sets of groves for this inside, use the grooves that place one probe on each side of the plate not the other ones. Go to this website:http://www.dishpointer.com/ type in your town name and country name and then locate the sat name on the drop-dawn menu, then drag the green pointer on to the roof of your house on the satellite picture and you will get all the infor you need to know to nail each sat from your location. Good luck. |
@all, the channels being talked about (colors, HBO, MTV India) seem to be on W4/7 36E but Thuggle et al are saying they are on W2A 10E. Clarity needed. Rgds, |
@Minneger: Be precise. How small is small? Minimum size C band is 1.8m (180cm). Rgds. |
@ Odilibe: Thanks for the clarification on BBC. On lyngsat it looks like a TV channel with audio channels below it but alas from what you say it may just be a brand heading for the audio channels. @ King411: I only have a 1.8m solid pan. If by 2.4m you mean mesh maybe I just might be able to catch ZNBC as gurus say 1.8m solid pan is close in gain to a 2.4m mesh. For the rest ntv kenya, ntv uganda, ktn and k24 (excluding Swazi tv) I am able to catch them on NSS12 ku band. I will be in touch Bro for mentoring. I am on 0976-069482. @Ilish: Good to know that Badr is recievable in Kitwe with a 3m solid pan, though that is beyond my league at the moment. In a month or two's time my workplace plan to auction a number of excess solid plastic Broadband internet dishes (2.8m offset). Should I get one I will be game to revive my failed assault on Badr. Rgds. |
Hi all, this is my first post. I have three questions for Zambia based FTA anthusiasts: Badr 6, 26E Cband, Lyngsat shows a beam footprint officially ending in Nakonde, meaning fridge could be recievable in Lusaka. Any success with with this one on any size dish? Intelsat 7/10, 68E C band, are you recieving ZNBC and ZBC? I dont seem to. Makes me wonder if they are not on southern africa beam. Intelsat 10-02, 1w C band, I am getting all channels listed by lyngstat for Africa including BBC Arabic, but BBC english doesnt pop out during blind scan. I had a similar problem with Muvi TV channels on Arabsat 5a Cband but direct scanning of the TP coxed them out but this didnt work with BBC. Any help? Thanks. |
