Daxbiz: Imagine 4LNB's on each of the dishes.....WOW.

That could mean 12 separate satellites!!!!

Now that's a FTA dreamland.....

That should cover every live match....

What do you think?
You people, you dont need a nest of dishes crammed with LNBs, you just need one LNB, one dish and an HH motor. An HH motor is around USD60. On my set up which is KU only I get 18 satellites from Telstar 11N 37W to Apster 7 at 76.5E

Your cable has a short circuit. re-check the cable for breakages and the F-connectors for contact between inner wire and outer conductor.

I Hacked: most times the argument of unnecessary things i dont respond but some ones are also following and taking some knowledge from some of the post we do.

in old days rich peoples buy slaves to help them so that they don't work more
when they got machines some of them find out that the machine is very good and more conveniences than the slaves
now a days all are using machines even setting on animals is fading out

Satellite finders are special made for tracking satellite ,we have good ones and bad ones too,we have professional ones and hobbies ones as well ,
the professional ones are very expensive .any one or satellite Installer who have a good satellite finder will never but it down and use a receiver and carry out a TV for tracking satellite

tracking satellite with receiver is for only hobbies who don't have tools and new installers who don't understand satellite language and don't have tools or cant afford it now but if he/she is good he/she know that sat finder is the best and he will really preper for it

those who dont know anything a bought satellite, what they are looking for is green and picture, they can not read sat finders .cos it is for those who will understand the language sometime .receiver is very easy for them

good sat finders are Very sensitive, super fast spectrum Analyzer, sat finder like the one i have now can test cable and LNBF ,tells you good LNB be4 you fix it up, one of my meter identifies the satellite, provides spectrum information and allows the checking of the satellite, grin grin it work Works on both picture and sound

a receivers use transponder frequencies transmitted from a satellite (which can go out of date) to identify the satellite.

With receivers, you have to looks for a frequency that is (hopefully) unique to that satellite.
Sometimes there is no unique frequency and you will never know the "cross ID" because you are using TPS sometimes(sees the satellite in two or more places and only one place is correct). If there is a unique frequency, it may change in the future, if that happens the satellite can no longer be found

you and i feed lyngsat, flysat and more sometimes .

for Example marghib is the one now transmit all Europe live football march for DStv south Africa
the hobbies and receiver trackers will never get this free up .cos no one will give them TP and a receiver can not do that.

if the signals is very week we look for good satellite finder to do that
my sat finder detect satellite without me knowing it or have a tp of that sat

it is only new guys that suffer but big Guy like George D know much more a bought this
but because may bee he is hobbies he may not use 1000 of euro for sat finder that will only be use for only one day but that does not mean that he don't know that it is the best

@ Georg D this your dish will kill all birds on the sky this day,
look at the picture below you may need this sat finder it is not expensive but very very good than more of the expensive ones
if city power is out you can still track with this meter
this meter will find all satellite you dont know the tp but it can not tell the name and it is ID like my new one.

i really like this sat finder but new technology is knocking it out very painful
i bought my new professional sat finder at £749.95 even after this some of the big guys told me it is for hobbies. cry cry cry
Very well explained IHACKED. Our FTA hobby should move with technology. Technology is unnecessary if you want to do ordinary things, but if you want to do difficult things technology is the way to go, subject to you having the money and the willingness to be where our American/european/chinese FTA brothers are. Me I get what you where suggesting, and it was a suggestion not a criticism or force.

swordswifter: smiley @ Freshp,
It's not very intentional but when you go through the stress of putting things together all for it to be taken away, it sometimes can be very depressing. I know my brother Kungu has also stopped posting and writing up educational posts just because of this. Anyway for your sake i'm going to summarize it. It is simply a method of tracking a satellite without an actual valid frequency but with any frequency input that falls within the valid range of an orbiting satellite's transmitting frequency range. I call it BLIND TRACKING.
I discovered the technique 6 - 7 years ago when i was trying to be the first to know what's on a newly launched satellite that had docked in space. All you need to know is that the suspected satellite you want to track has a footprint in your region(or in my case i don't even take note of that), a random frequency with good characteristics(which also falls within the satellite orbiting in space's frequency range) and a good responsive receiver that does not delay in responding to frequency changes. (Works best when you have a "well aligned" motorized dish but you can also try it on any other dish. It will be much more difficult though)
Let me know if you get this so far, i will continue later.
Yes we are with you. Please continue. As Freshp mentioned some of us got to RDI after the valuable African thread been deleted by the Romanian racists.

swordswifter: @ all
Based some reports about Turksat 2A 3A, I did some tests later in the night. Found out the ff active frequencies but do not know which satellites they are on. Kindly run tests if you have a bigger dish and lets see what more we can find. They were noticed above Intelsat 28(ie as you move your dish up)
=>The 1st TP you'll hit is 11.087(H)/4.999. The satellite position is unknown
=>The 2nd batch of TP you'll hit from the first position is 11.946(V)/29.997 and 11.983(V)/30.000. This satellite position is unknown at the moment too
=>The 3rd TP you'll hit from the second position is 10.872(H)/19.627. This TP has 7 channel slots with one radio running via the TV channel and Lybia Watanaya running on another. The rest are all tests. Still, this satellite position is also not known
Assist us in getting all available satellites with footprints over our region under monitoring. Thanks.
Just curious Swordswifter: Turksat 42E is I think between Eutelsat 36 @36E and Intelsat 12 @ 45E, why were you searching between Astra 2f @28E and intelsat 28 (new dawn) @ 33E? Also are you able to share your method for searching for a sat when the TP is unknown?

Sorry Ehisdan, I dont have the fake software because I dont have that type of STB. I was just trying to calm down Chukstaker who was getting ready to go and kill the man who sold him the fake 4669X. What I know for sure is that what you need to do is to find someone who has a working fake decoder of the same type and do an STB to STB firmware transfer using a null modem cable and your decoder will wake up. Do this and you are good to go.

People, is any one getting Telstar 11N 37.5W on KU band? If so what TP are you using? I am hitting green at 90% on a sat in that area but I cant confirm if its Telstar 11n because no channels are popping out. Nothing special on that sat according to lyngsat, only afew ordinary channels, but FTA spirit demands I check them out for myself. Thanks.

atopa: my strong decorder 4669xii displays invalid frequency after inserting arabsat 5c 20e frequency on manual scan. What should do inorder to track this satellite with my strong decorder.
This usually happens when you try to enter a KU band frequency (5 digits) in a sat whose LNB paramenters are C band or a C band frequency (4 digits)in a sat whose LNB parameters are KU band. Arabsat 5C is C band which you get with a C band LNB. Go to dish setup and set the following C band parameters: LNB type single, LNB Frequency 5150, LNB H leave blank.Go back to manual scan and enter a C band TP and the decoder will accept, enter a KU frequency it will refuse.

If Arabsat 5C has KU transponders and you want to get those with a KU LNB, create a second Arabsat 5C Ku sat in your decoder and enter the following KU parameters: LNB type Uinversal, LNB frequency 9750, LNB frequency H 10600. Go to manual scan and enter a KU frequency and it will accept; enter a c band frequency and it will refuse.

swordswifter: i noticed something on my quest. It seems like Technomate receivers have almost the same GUI(Graphical user interfaces) as Strong receivers and even some of their models look alike.

*Who has any knowledge of it and why is it so?

*Is Technomate plagiarizing Strong products or it's the other way round or maybe they are all just one in the same company?
This was a fair statement of wonderment by Swordswifter. To me he didnt accuse one company or the other. He just pointed out that the similarity can't be an accident and asked members of the house who had better information to help solve the puzzle. No one has come forward with an answer. The bottomline is that Technomate and Strong dont seem to be fighting over this matter, it follows therefore that there is no reason for us to fight either. We already have enough fights over ManU, Barcelona and the like. smiley

petfun4u: My Gurus, I was able to tracked 4 satellite on one dish, my 1m dish. The sats are
a. 160E/170E – my primary LNB followed by
b. 280E
c. 360E and
d. 450E (which many referred to as HITV new direction but not) the last one up in my 4LNBs diagram
Find the four (4) LNB arrangement on the picture below with four LNBs - original picture will be uploaded soon.

While my second tracking experience took me several weeks before I could achieved my result.
On my second 1m dish I used for my Nilesat, I was able to track 3 satellites as explained below;
a. 70W- my Nilesat followed up by
b. 220W –NSS7 and finally below my nilesat I tracked
c. 4.80E (to the highest signal of 85% to give me the Etv feed to watch my football)
Find the three (3) LNB arrangement on the picture below with three LNBs - original picture will be uploaded soon.

Still working on more.

Remain blessed.
I presume you couldnt find the symbol for degree and used ZERO instead. In future just type 45E not 450E and it will be OK. Other than that keep up the good work.

FreeTVguru: I have observed a big problem here, it seems each Receiver has it own way of describing Channels with respect to satellites (not correct anyway) many people here are confused with these satellites; Amos 5 Vs eutelsat 16(w3c) and Ses 5 Vs sirius 4. Channels on w3c sometimes people mention that they are on Amos5, Tps on ses5 sometimes are mentioned to be on serius4. This really makes it difficult for the new babies to install their Dishes that why we have endless request for assistance. Note that Amos5 is @17e very close to w3c @16e no wonder people get confused///// Ses5 is @5.2e whle sirius is @4.8/9e very close, so many don't actually kno which bird the have caught btwn the 2 hence mentioning satellites here which doesn't offer such channels
Brilliant observation. People have scanned wrong TPs into wrong sat names.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Lunsat(m): 2:23pm On Mar 07, 2013
Pidzo: There is a Zuku package on Sirius 4.8E. We are getting it not from the signal bouncing off something.
You are right. Its actually on SES 5 @5E which is almost in the same place as Astra 4A(Sirius 4) @4.8E. But somehow I have never scanned it in.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Lunsat(m): 11:53am On Mar 07, 2013
microgiant: Stop mixing issues here. a dish is pointed to sirius @ 4.8E and after scanning, channels on Zuku package are scanned in, but when you go to such channels it shows "NO SIGNAL" and the signal bar is red.

I have also experienced this and very interested to know more or why.
@pofolo: I know that the available frequencies in a band like KU or C are limited, hence the same frequencies are reused on different satellites to carry different channels as long as those sats are far apart so that people searching for a specific sat can not get confused and also to avoid interference between the channels. My confusion was when a channel is detected during blind scan and saved as say 12600v2000 but is red after the scan BUT can be found on the same sat when you do a tp scan on say 12111v2700 which is indicated for that channel on lyngsat. I have no explanation for this.

@Microgiant: Your case of say ZUKU channels scanning in on sirius 4.8E when WE KNOW they are not on that sat and are actually on NSS 12 66E. This might be a case of the signal bouncing off a building or wall. My theory is that stbs in scanning mode are more sensitive than when in normal reception mode. Hence they can detect weak signals bouncing off a wall (for a sat not located in front of the dish) during scan but after scanning the channel is red because the stb is now in a less sensitive reception mode. Just a theory.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Lunsat(m): 3:01pm On Mar 06, 2013
swordswifter: Hi guys,
now my question is, those Zuku packages on SES 5, are they being transmitted in multicast?
Cause i can scan in the channels alright but when i go to the actual channels the transponder just dies out. It is just red as if there are no channels or data on it. Can someone explain this to me.
Thanks
I have also seen such funny channels. There are channels which I am able to detect at 70% quality when scanning and they are assigned a frequency by the decoder and saved, but when I go to the channel I find it is red. I found that such frequencies are different from the ones indicated for them on lyngsat. When I do a TP scan using the frequency from lyngsat I find I am able to catch and save the channel correctly and watch it. Again next time I do a blind scan the working frequency is replaced by the none working one. I have been wondering that maybe some frequencies of a certain modulation type are not detected correctly by strong decoders due to a software bug, but I havent identified the type of modulation yet. Maybe your multicast theory might be the explanation but I dont know anything about that.

People, my srt 4930 thinks I am in the northern hemisphere when I am in the southern hemisphere. So to move my dish east I must press west on the remote and to move west I must press east. The STB writes "Moving east" when in fact its moving west and I just can't believe that the designers didnt include a way of correcting this. I use an HH motor.Does anyone know how to correct this? I know on a jack motor I would just swap the power cables but I am stumped what to do on an HH motor. Any ideas?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Lunsat(m): 12:17pm On Mar 01, 2013
Some people have been asking on this thread how to search for a sat when its not on their channel list. this is where a channel editor can come in handy. There is a nice tool I have used to solve this problem, which is called NDFedit 1.65. you can get this executable file from http://crosat.us/upload/index.php?&direction=1&order=rating&directory=Strong Receivers/Strong WIZKID Files/Strong 4 Middle East. There are afew other types and versions of editors on this site but I have only used the NDFedit 1.65.

You need a computer to use this application. In addition you need to know how to save the channel list from your STB to a flash disk, and you need to know how to upload a channel list from a flash disk to your STB. The channel list file is saved on the flash disk in CNDF format and the NDFedit application enables you to open it and edit it.

With the NDFedit application you can do the following:

1. for satellites, you can:
-Add, Rename, remove, assign positions (degree), and arrange order of satellites in your channel list.
-Change LNB settings i.e LNB frequency, LNB type, and LNB power on/off
- Change diseqc settings i.e assign a sat to a diseqc port, choose the commands which the stb should use (diseqc 1.1 or USALS)

2. Edit TPs for each sat:
- Add, edit or delete a frequency
- give a channel name to a frequency
- Change the polarity of the TP i.e Vertical, Horizontal, circular right, circular left
- Change the FEC i.e 1/2, 3/4. 7/8 etc
-Change the modulation type e.g DVBs, DVBs-S2 or auto
-Tell the STB whether or not tehe frequency is prone to drifting so that it can catch it better

3. This aplication is even supposed to allow you to update your channels list with updated freqencies for each sat from lyngsat or flysat over the internet, though I haved used this aspect of it.

All this is done on your computer and then you upload the channel list to your STB and you are done. With this application you dont need to have useless sats and TPs clogging the memeory of your STB slowing it down and causing it to hang. You dont need to have channels for one sat being scanned under the wrong sat name. You can even have KU band only channel lists and C band only channel lists if you are only interested in one band type only.

Just thought I should share this.

odilibe: the in-line amp uses the voltage supply in the cable from/by the receiver..Due to power limitation of the receiver..I am not sure the receiver can supply enough voltage to power the 3 amps...I may be wrong though..you can give it a trial grin grin
@Odilibe, I think the stb should be able to provide enough power for three in-line amps because stbs have enough power to drive an HH motor. IF amps are not as power hungry as audio amps.

ADDEX70 advised you to use 3 line amps: one at the beginning of the cable, one in the middle and one at the end. This means you can use the amps like F-connectors if the ends are female(F=female), otherwise you have to also use F conector if the ends of the amps are male. I have heard that some amps amplify only one way (uni-diectional) while others amplifying both ways (bi-directional): if your amps are uni-directional make sure they are amplifying towards the decoder not towards the LNB. Make sure all the connections are tight and good to avoid signal loss due to bad connections.

If the three amps solution doesnt solve your problem, just get your own big dish instead of depending on your good friend. Good Luck.

Olenyi, I dont think this is a good response. Members in this forum cover the whole continent. It is pointless to spend hours tracking a sat when perhaps its footprint doesnt even cover your area. The solution is for the one who posted about this HiTV @48E sat to give full information i.e sat name, position and TP.
