All this war games going on across Africa isn't bad at all o, i keep seeing weapons we need on the north east. Today's South Africa and tomorrow's Algeria then the next Morroco. It wouldn't be bad to waste all those ammunitions on boko haram in the name of collaborative war games where we pay for the transport and the load the bombs on boko haram locations. grin grin grin
ACIRC was offered in 2014 and then president Jonathan said no thanks.

Has counter-terrorism become a profitable business in Nigeria?

"Conflict entrepreneurs within the hierarchy of military leadership and the ministries, departments and agencies in the security sector apparently use military funds meant for counter-terrorism operations to enrich themselves. Military spending is usually not audited due to its sensitive nature. The secrecy that surrounds it encourages misappropriation."

Wagtail Aviation developing armed gyrocopter

"Wagtail Aviation is working on a range of manned and unmanned heavy gyrocopters and is experimenting with arming them with machineguns, rocket-propelled grenades and countermeasures, amongst others, for a variety of defence and security missions.

Wagtail Aviation is one of a few select companies in the world currently producing heavy gyrocopters of around 8-900 kg Max All Up Weight (MAUW) and the only company offering this size of rotorcraft for such specialised missions as aerial delivery and rapid deployment. The company’s gyrocopters have been specifically designed for remote, harsh environments and ruggedized with heavy duty suspension etc.

Wagtail Aviation is looking at expanding its presence around the world, from Australia to the United States.
In Nigeria, the company is looking at operations from airboats (swamp buggies) since in the southern Rivers State there is a big problem with people damaging oil pipelines. Hechter said the plan is to have a big airboat fitted with a landing platform – a gyrocopter will then use the boat as a base and fly patrols, guiding the boat to the problem area and landing back on the airboat whilst crew are sent to repair the pipeline. The airboat will be the deployed base for the gyrocopter, capable of supporting up to two weeks of deployed operations, with refuelling and flight line support. This configuration can also be used against smuggling and poaching operations.

Wagtail has also offered its gyrocopters to the Nigerian Police for surveillance missions, with the intention to have the gyrocopters as first responders, fitted with electro-optical and thermal cameras with the real-time downlink. This links the various mission sensors on the gyrocopter to different command posts. Wagtail has also approached the Nigerian postal service for using gyrocopters to deliver post in remote areas.

Wagtail has also been approached by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). President Felix Tshisekedi will visit South Africa towards the end of February 2020, and he has requested Wagtail Aviation make a presentation whilst he is in the country."
SOURCE: DefenceWeb

From the company's webiste:
Wagtail is also busy with projects in Nigeria, Uganda, Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and various other African countries.

The company Wagtail Nigeria was registered, and we are in the process of establishing a Gyrocopter centre of Excellence, close to the military base at Kaduna.

Algerian2:
Even if this global fire ranking use demographic , geographic, economic stats for country ranking . for me this is a big mystery for why morocco is not 3rd in africa ranking . they have better equipments in number and quality in all sectors than south africcan , nigerian , angola , ethiopia and by far .

For airforce they have :
23 f16 block 52 15 F-16C / 8 F-16D ( that are upgraded to Block 70/72 . and they will receive 25 more last block 70/72. thats 48 F16 Viper ! and as US ally they got same technology and weapons than US on them .
27 Mirage F1/ MF2000 (upgraded)
28 Northrop F-5A/B/E/F ( upgraded to tiger III version)
24 Alphajet

Transport : 16 C130 / 4 Alenia C-27J Spartan / 7 CASA CN-235
They signed for 36 AH-64E Appach . they have 24 gazelle , 24 puma , 12 chinook , a hudge number of bell 205 .206. 202

Wich africcan air force (a part egypt ,algeria ) have better ?

For navy : they have . 1 FREMM , 3 sigma , 2 floreal . thats 6 frigates very well equiped

One Descubierta corvet and more than 20 different OPV and many other small patroller

For army : for tanks only the have :

384 M1A1 SA Abrams
148 T-72 B/V
453 M60-A3TTS upgraded to A3 version
54 MBT-2000 VT A1

Plus others artillery transport light armored vehicle ect...

For air defense they have

16 systems of the MIM-104 Patriot PAC 3 systems

32 systems of the chinese HQ9 long range defense system

48 MIM-72 Chaparral

+ the only true military spy satellite in africa with there Pléiades satelite

So realy i dont understand why moroccan army is not 3rd in africa
You do realise the ability to wage war does not depend only on the materiel a country possesses, right?
Do Egypt, Algeria, Morocco have the economic and industrial depth and sophistiscation to wage war independently for a lengthy period of time as Nigeria or South Africa?

An ordinary man that wrote the story is your god now abi? You can't be smarter than him? Boeing and the source chose only the two helicopters they wish to compare. Common sense should tell you that because their comparison also excludes Eurocopter Tiger and China Z-10 that looks exactly like Apache, does not mean Tiger and WZ-10 are inferior rivals not competing with Apache.

My guy u hav problem tinking outside a box.

Look it's not about common sense bruz, it's about technical military sense, Boeing cannot compare Mi-35 with Apache because Boeing does not produce assault helicopters of Mi-35 class, Boeing only builds attack helicopters of Mi-28 class.

So Boeing is totally silent on Mi-35 and chose Mi-28 for comparison, same with that your data source, they both said clearly that the comparison is strictly for attack helicopters and Mi-35 doubles as a troop transport, not categorized with those types.

Russia built the Mi-28 as marketing concept to compete with Apache for customers by using copy copy look-alike shape design, that was the failed idea of rival that only 2 buyers choose. Reality turned out differently than designers concept plan, reality today is 80 air forces worldwide choose Mi-35 if they cannot get Apache, so miltary forces world wide have made Mi-35 the real life rival to Apache in real warfare, not in marketing design concept. This simple fact now becomes rocket science too complex for you to understand

Derilict NA T-72's. Another testament to the Army's flawed procurement and maintenance policy.
Some fellow here tried to argue this wasn't the issue. I think it was in reference to the Reva APC?
I'm interested what the argument will be with regards to this.

kikuyu1 and other Kenyans

And this?

NAIROBI, Kenya—The deaths of five Kenyan security personnel in a recent attack by Somali terrorists has put the suitability of armored personnel carriers purchased from China under renewed scrutiny.

In another incident, a group of General Service Unit personnel requested that suppliers prove the vehicle’s durability and efficiency in the field by asking the supplier to get into the APC and drive past them as they shot at it at close range.

“The supplier refused to get into the APC. He said he would not endanger his life by getting into the APC as we shot at it because it was not safe. We were all shocked,” an officer told The Standard.

Saffas,I know you're biting your nails and won't check in til at least Saturday evening. You surprised me against Japan-your ball handling errors weren't the Boks we know and frankly if the Japs played intelligently kicking instead of trying to run you'd have been shocked. You should beat England though and I hope you do!
Rugby! Only sport real men play!
My cousin is a ref - sadly, a knee injury ended his playing career, after attaining provincial colours - and his favourite fixture is Kenya vs Uganda!
3 Saffas play for Japan and that might explain the jitters! grin grin grin

Personally, I was more disheartened by the Wales game than Japan. Weather report for the weekend encounter against the Poms - we rate the rivalry as Kiwis, Aussies then England - should favour us!

For the girly men here ignorant about this glorious sport: Rugby most approximates combat, if NCOs were ever allowed free rein, and the reason real men play it.
Cricket comes second, if officers were ever allowed to get their uniforms dirty! grin grin grin
