I think it should read Nigerians in Lagos and Abuja ..As most states in Nigeria don't have cinemas. Lagos and Abuja with easily cater for 80 percent of that figure released |
Nigeria is an inverted country. It's only in Nigeria that you pay 35k per year for a course in Unilag and also pay 100k minimum per year for a cheap private primary school simply because nobody who has a choice will ever send their child to a public primary school but can send the same child when he or she grows up to a public university. How can we be proud of Unilag and not be proud of araromi primary school. It's only in Nigeria that they will say cut off mark for Common entrance in Zamfara is 15 while the cut off in imo or Ogun is 54. This indicates that if you have 20 marks from nasarrawa you can get admission to Queens college over someone who had 50 from imo simply because the nasarrawa person was born "dumb" ? This has been happening for decades and no one is doing anything about it. A state of emergency should be declared in the north regarding quality of primary education rather than reducing the cut off mark specifically for them. It affects them in the long run. I don't think it's a coincidence that we don't have many northern high flyers in the private sector in Nigeria;most high flying northerners are either in the public sector or have one form of influence with the public sector one way or the other. I don't think any federal government college has been created since 1999 and even the existing ones are not expanded thus making secondary education to be more in private hands. School fees is killing a lot of households especially primary and secondary fees in the search for quality education. Imagine this scenario:you are working and paying your tax or even if you are not working and the public primary and secondary schools are of standard quality (teachers, teaching environment and teaching materials/methods), imagine you not having to pay school fees for almost 9 years of primary school and six years of secondary school. It happens in other countries too. I will rather not pay school fees for that period for proper funding of public primary and secondary then pay a premium fee to Unilag compared to the current system where you pay a premium for primary school education and secondary school education then pay Unilag your annual money for data subscription as school fees. Who is ASUU ? The people that should be going on strike is NUT but they are toothless. God help naija |
God doesn’t make mistakes. If you believe that you’re always led by God like I believe then I have to believe that God led me to this man for whatever reasons best known to Him. I thought God sent him as my life partner but I guess He just used him as a vessel for my greatest blessing It's funny how people start calling God this and God that on such situations. I agree that God doesn't make mistakes but God's plan is also not for you to fornicate and in the last sentence Linda is saying maybe God used him to make her a Baby Mama. Unless she has another god she's referring to because even Satan has plans and uses people. She keeps referring to her baby daddy as this man and try to lower him by saying he stays in a three bedroom flat at 5 th Lekki round about, was that info really necessary? Cos she stays in a banana island mansion ? Anyway I hope the guy gives his own side to the story cos there are two sides to every story and this her version makes her perfect like she did absolutely nothing wrong other than keep going back to him . All the best to her and future / present baby mamas |
Out of school children has increased to 13.2 million which according to UNICEF is the highest in the world. However, the APC have a school feeding program whose main business case is that there has been a significant increase n enrollment since the program started. To put it in proper context, the Nigerian Government under APC claims to spend 600 million naira every day to feed 9.3 million primary school children between primary 1 to primary 3. The result of this novel program is UNICEF(which is not affiliated with PDP) stating that more children are even out of school despite the heavy investment on feeding. |
There have been several books containing the title blood and bone even before the Tomi girl wrote her own. It's cheap publicity to accuse Nora of plagiarism when there have been similar titles that could also have accused Tomi. |
Covenant University and pan Atlantic University (Lagos business school) are two of the best private universities in the country. Infact the MBA program of Lagos business school is 1 million times better than the likes of Unilag and u.i. covenant is excellent overall. Even the way covenant students and graduates dress you must bow. Special shout out to Babcock as most of their graduates are doing big things in the IT sector in Nigeria such as paystack founders. Afe babalola University graduates are also killing it in law. My point is no University should be a jack of all trades. They should take up one or two fields and fund it heavily such that even if you don't make it on times ranking, your alumni will make an impact on the nation. But don't get it twisted private university graduates are killing it in Multinationals ,private sector and even public sector and age is on their side.babcock graduate of 21 years old I met has finished her bsc, nysc and just rounded up her MSc at Warwick uni. Plus she's already ICAN certified O. The truth is that in most cases if your parents can afford to send you to a premium private university such as Babcock or covenant, more likely than not they can also fund your masters degree overseas and also flex their connect to get you a good job here in Nigeria . God bless all Nigerian students both private and public and also graduates . I pray the ASUU strike is called off soon O . ![]() |

In the words of Sonny Okosun, We are still waiting for the wind of change |
Just saw the video and truly that part was edited out 5.30 into the video. This is sad and tragic. The Nigerian media is just not professional enough. Shout out to premium times and a few others . Soldiers died and for days no news paper could carry the news. If not for foreign media and premium times . Femi adesina lied on national television and channels tv that has won best station 12 years in a row edited the interview to protect the government in power. Media is supposed to tell it like it is and let the masses make up their mind . This is like a repeat of the military era just that this media of this era are being bought. Tragic.if you want to be absolutely sure of the edit, the display time at the bottom right of the video jumps from 20.45 to 20.47 in a matter of seconds when you get to 5.30 of the video. That's 2 minutes edited out. Maybe it was for advert ![]() TVC also known as Tinubus Vision Continental is the worst. Used to watch their journalist hangout program but on one occasion where they clearly refused to criticize tinubu and ambode for lack of transparency in procurement of projects in a topic they were discussing, I just gave up on them. It's Normal to take sides Afterall fox loves Trump and CNN hates Trump but even when Trump withdrew the white house pass of that CNN reporter, fox supported and stood by the CNN reporter. Even fox won't edit like this to protect Trump. It's unethical. Which way Nigeria. |
Maybe bolanle the oga of terrakulture allowed him to use the place for a fee but maybe the event organisers are not the in house terrakulture staff cos terrakulture is actually a very professional and on time place even for their stage plays. Instead of him to rant on the organisers and promoters he paid he was probably giving bolanle Austen Peters the terrakulture oga the who are you question. People in Lagos and naija don't like to be asked who they are |
Many public schools both primary and secondary across the country look like this also with teachers who are underpaid/owed salaries with also very little teaching materials. Guess what ? All that doesn't matter as the able federal government of Nigeria is feeding 9.3 million children attending such schools on a daily basis. Tragedy of Nigeria. |
The truth is this. Education is made up of three levels: primary, secondary and tertiary and of the three the worst is the public primary schools then the public secondary schools. It's amazing that even ASUU staff cannot send their children to public primary schools but can send their children to public universities. That's an inverted system. The government should intervene and properly fund the primary and secondary school system first . In Lagos , no one in the middle class or even lower class can send their children to public primary schools cos of the rot. Even most federal government colleges are living on past glory. Imagine in an ideal situation where I give birth to two children and I don't have to pay a Kobo in school fees from primary to secondary because the public schools are quality and standard compared to the current situation where I pay 300 thousand naira per year in a private primary school cos the public ones are rubbish only for the child to get to Unilag and be paying 30 thousand per year . Government should first of all fund heavily the primary and secondary before ASUU even says a word . Any parent that doesn't pay school fees for 12 years of primary and secondary school due to high quality of the public schools can be made to pay a premium for tertiary education not the other way around. I don't know any country in the world where public tertiary education is given a higher priority than quality public primary and secondary education. Every child needs primary and secondary to succeed. You don't necessarily need tertiary education especially University education to succeed in life . |
It would be nice if his excellency president Buhari can explain to us in details how he's going to fund his campaign stating clearly his source of funds and the contributors. |
’You cannot be a central bank governor that is beholding to the interest of money lender almost in the past 20 years and the bankers and money lender have been controlling the central bank and the central bank has been ordered along their interests rather than along the mandate of building a solid productive economy and creating employment’’. That's the summary, the current CBN boss is Jim ovias boy and came from Zenith bank. Sanusi before him also came from first bank to head CBN. His argument is these guys protect the interests of the banks rather than the entire population at large. I don't think soludo became CBN Governor from any bank though but he was able to do the consolidation. Sanusi did some witch hunting on intercontinental bank as CBN oga. All in all, he's saying CBN governors we've had in recent years are agents of the banks and doing the banks interests.henry boyo;a popular economist has explained severally how CBN could do better at the expense of the banks to the benefit of the larger populace but no way . |
vosquare:Here's the thing, even if united had bought Harry Maguire from Leicester for 75 million pounds, it won't still solve the problem m united for one are not playing entertaining football. The other top six sides are playing football that is sweet to watch. Secondly this same Mourinho bought Baily and Lindelof and both have been below par. Bought Dalot but he's playing young as right back. What happens if or when Luke Shaw gets injured again. He hasn't gotten the best out of Lukaku and Sanchez. And Matic is not the player he used to be. Don't know what's going on with Fred. Pogba is still a boss though. It's not that the players are bad or that Smalling is bad. That's how some fans were blasting martial last season. How I wish Arsenal bought him. Even David Luiz was said to be bad under conte and now he's playing almost every match. The board has a blame of at most 30 percent but with the resources Manchester United has there's know way They should be conceeding goals anyhow From the first to the 14th position on the league, Manchester United has conceeded the most goals. Even Newcastle , West ham , Brighton and crystal palace have conceeded less than united. There's a deeper issue. Unless you are saying Newcastle and crystal palace have better defence than united |
NwaAmaikpe:Every paragraph is laced with heavy insults. Mr capable reeks of myriads of incapabilities. Lol. But Biko leave his wife out of this. Insulting and hilarious at the same time. It was cancer O not boil and adesuwa didn't marry him out of pity. Very funny but you made some valid points |
I pray and hope both United and Juventus qualify till the quarter final and meet again. There will be blood . Man united are riding their luck. Let's see what will happen against man City. A loss to city means the premier league is over. Left with just winning the. Champions league and FA cup. All the best to united |
If this government is fighting corruption, let the police set up a sting operation and investigate the true amount Nigerians pay.NIS is a tragedy |
Good post. Electricity is critical as some areas are darkness personified |

Shaderkul:I cant speak for ford explorer but my experience with my Ford edge can help you. I used a Ford Edge 2009 for a period of three years. Bought it tokunbo and it came with two keys full option. The maintenance is a little bit high because the parts are quite expensive and you have to use motocraft oil for the servicing .Parts are avalaible However, the biggest challenge i had with the car was the mechanics i was exposed to. Good mechanics that repair ford are very rare. If you take your car to coscharis or briscoe, they will charge you high. even the independent mechanics avalaible were trained by these companies. If your ford has a fault on the road, other mechanics in most cases will avoid it. Even one popular ford mechanic on nairaland enjoyed eating my money and still doing shakara because good ford mechanics are rare. There was a hillarious case where i met one mechanic who i was introduced to that repairs ford. Went to see him only for him to say he has stop repairing ford because an explorer he tried to repair kept giving problems and the owner a strict woman got him arrested. In summary, using a ford is classy but you must be ready for premium maintenance as in most cases u must buy OEM spare parts not the knock offs. Secondly, you must pray to find a good ford mechanic. I currently use a toyota as mechanics for toyota are every where and parts are cheaper. From Brake pads to shock absorbers to brake discs to motocraft oil, all is premium parts and a mechanic who has both the technical skills and the fear of GOD. Compared to toyota mechanics, technical skills isnt an issue but fear of GOD on the part of mechanics is. Enventually sold my FORD Edge. If you can find a great mechanic and can afford premium maintenance then carry go. Final Recommendation: DONT BUY A FORD PRODUCT |
Kudos to all of them. It would have been nice to know the proportion of first class per number of each institution. If Afe Babalola University can produce 12 First class out of maybe 30 products, thats a higher percentage than the 12 first class of another school that may have over 60 products in LAW school. All in All, For those always saying private universities are advanced secondary schools, i hope you can see. I have always maintained that education is meant to be relevant not difficult. The fact that some people got educated under dire and difficult conditions in public universities doesnt necessarily mean their education is better. The LAW school and other professional certifications such as ICAN and ACCA have shown that every university has its own excellent students and discrimination against private universities should stop. All this first class in a private university is same as a second class lower/upper in a public university talk is all bollocks. If you are smart , you are smart regardless of your institution. Kudos to ABUAD though; a nine year old university having Same first class numbers as great IFE and Ibadan. Babcock has more first class than the Great ABU. LASU law is still King. UNILAG can never fall hand. |
osazsky:Mourinho is a legend but the issue I feel most of us have with him is the lack of squad harmony and the ugly defensive football he plays. Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, spurs and Manchester City all play sweet football. Can't figure out why Manchester United cannot do the same. Secondly Mourinho has had issues with a lot of his players and often calls them out publicly. Mourinho didn't need to buy Sanchez but he did for reasons best known to him. Mourinho has had three years. |

Chaos. Buhari our president has to do something about this. Is it that our president doesn't listen to news or his advisers don't often brief him. This Usman case is getting out of hand. We need the president to intervene in this matter as the allegations against Usman are grave . This is not a joking matter. I dare say though that what Usman is doing is common among heads of agencies in Nigeria. The thing probably affecting Usman is that he's eating alone. From customs to nnpc to NCAA to firs, there's massive corruption and abuse of powers. If Buhari wants to fix corruption to an extent he needs to fix the procurement process and institute the procurement council so that the fec can stop awarding contracts. The easiest way to steal money in government at all levels is through abuse of the procurement process. Buhari should look beyond being Mr integrity and be innovative in his fight against corruption. Integrity of the president won't end corruption. The TSA implementation was a good place to start but it you read the allegations against Usman you will know the procurement process in government has been soiled and it happens in all government agencies |
Correct me if my maths is wrong , 906 billion naira for 105 people in total is the same thing as sharing 1 million naira each to 906,000 entrepreneurs ? |
