I prefer Ibrahim chatta to odunlade. Chatta can act pastor/woli both Pentecostal and white garment. Saw him act the role of a white garment man that went into a trance and he killed it especially for a Muslim that he is. He can also act other roles such as Alfa, babalawo, rich, poor and even lover boy. However truth be said in terms of comic ability, odunlade is way ahead of chatta. But I prefer chattas acting and if you ask most Yoruba practitioners who is a better professional I believe most will go for chatta. |
I get all this hyper the governor and his deputy are trying to do but : The easiest thing sanwo and hanzat can do first is to domicile the maintenance and repair of roads to the local government. Instead of having the public works in Ojodu Berger going to all the local governments and lcdas to fiX roads, let there be a fully equipped public works department domiciled in every local government and lcda. Fund them properly and equip them and make them accountable. People in each local government can go to the local government to complain about bad roads and all to have them fixed. Eventually their capacity can be improved to road construction especially inner roads and drainage construction. As long as they perform using quality materials, it will lead to a big achievement in road construction and maintenance |
As far as the EPL is concerned, Manchester United distorted the market in terms of transfer fees and wages. United chose to pay Sanchez 500k pounds per week even when city had to confess they couldn't pay Sanchez that and same United overpaid for the likes of Pogba and Lukaku which has distorted transfer fees and is why crystal palace will want to sell an average player like Zaha for 60 million. Man City buy a wide range of players but they don't distort like man utd and Barcelona. And I use Lukaku and Dembele with Coutinho as examples as they are not value for money for what was paid compared to kepa, allison and van Dijk who cost a lot but are value for money. |
rusher14:In summary, when NCAA was created, the staff strength was about 300 and the organogram reflected this. Now with expansion of the aviation industry, NCAA has more staff and thus the organogram and structure has to be expanded to factor in this growth and promotions according to the union but the minister and the DG said no and rather than expand the organogram, they actually merged departments which stifles growth even further. The condition of service will ensure better pay package for NCAA. The taxes on your ticket is collected by NCAA and shared with other aviation agencies. It's sad that NCAA doesn't even pay as well as the operators it regulates which can cause compromise especially since aviation is sensitive and NCAA according to the union's have been trying as there has been no air crash for commercial flights for a while . Finally the inauguration of the governing board of NCAA which buhari has appointed for over a year now is long overdue. Without the board, the DG and the minister make all the decisions without any oversight. According to the union NCAA doesn't have one functional staff bus yet the DG and the minister in the last three weeks recently purchased 21 2018 brand new Toyota Hilux . There may be other issues as seen in the memo but this is my understanding to an extent

Thomas Sankara is the only African i am inspired by and thus the most influential with his ideologies. |
Thehumanlloydl:I get now. Definitely not the ivy league name |
Thehumanlloydl:The Ivy League is an American collegiate athletic conference comprising sports teams from eight private universities in the Northeastern United States. The term Ivy League is typically used to refer to those eight schools as a group of elite colleges beyond the sports context.[2] The eight members are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and Yale University. Ivy League has connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism. While i agree that the ivy league in the US dont always conduct research or exchange knowledge together, i believe the Nigerian version should go down this path cos of funding constraints and also to build research citation rankings through collaboration

Great Babcockite. Its a good school because of the people you get to meet there but to be honest their research output is quite poor especially when you compare it with Covenant Uni. They also have some very lackluster lecturers who are only there because they are members of the seventh day Adventist fold. The food back then was suicide but if i had to choose which private university my child or family member will attend, i will consider Covenant Uni and Afe Babalola Uni before i consider babcock. Nice pictures though. I believe babcock, covenant, abuad, abti american and pan atlantic uni(lagos business school) should form a kind of ivy league private university association to conduct research and exchange knowledge and other ideas in a bid to improve excellence. |
This is tragic especially since it happened to someone i know. I just pray the family stays strong in this trying times. No one deserves this kind of treatment. India is a no no henceforth for medical treatment outside Nigeria. A doctor at Reddington once told me about the exploitation of these Indian hospitals . Perhaps USA,UK,GERMANY or even DUBAI HEALTHCARE CITY are better options. May GOD help us all . We owe it to go all out to ask questions of this vedic lifecare hospital to ensure that such negligence and fraud never ever happens to any Nigerian again |
The little girl that was recorded and the one that did the recording have been receiving plaudits and money here and there. The main question is does anyone know if the rehabilitation of the school successs was referring to has commenced and if yes to what extent. The true winning situation in all this is to be refurbish the pako school she referred to totally and buy books and training materials for the school so that all the students that attend the school will benefits. This is a much better scenario than having the two individuals in success and the lady that did the recording collecting money up and down; They can collect money and endorsements but the school shouldn't be neglected so that her story can be seen as a beacon of light on other students in that school. However in typical naija fashion, i wont be surprised if the young girl changes school and nothing is done about her original school |
JamesKudooski:Afternoon. Sent airtime for the book since 7.30 am. I sent two text messages and an email . Guess you are busy . Was expecting you will at least acknowledge the email or SMS. |
bamidelee:I'm sorry . I'm just pissed. My car has suffered in this Lagos and shock absorbers and even my bumber has suffered. Just needed to rant at the useless Govenor and his projects he's using to steal money. |
The Ikeja terminal Buhari commissioned with ambode since last year has not been put to use. This ambode is just a fool. Doing grandiose projects while neglecting inner roads. The lagossstate public works is now totally useless compared to under fashola when you could report potholes to public works and they often broadcast on LTV then roads they were going to work on each day . On my way to work I encounter and dodge nothing less than 30 major and 30 minor pot holes. From Berger to Ikeja airport. What's wrong in having the public works domiciled in every local government and equip them in every local government so they can fix roads. If you know AINA street in ojodu Berger and the number of potholes on that road then you will weep but if Macron decides to visit AINA street tomorrow, the useless governor will fix the road overnight. There's been a big pothole for weeks on oba akran avenue before you climb the bridge and nothing has been done. I can go on and on. People's cars are getting damaged and unnecessary traffic is being caused but it doesn't matter to the useless Govenor. I'm sure the planet project guy is ambodes proxy. Apart from the 114 roads he did in his first year with much fanfare he has not done much for inner roads at all . I pray sanwo olu has the sense and goodwill to have a road maintenance unit fully equipped in every local government. If they are well equipped and have mandates to repair and maintain at least 30 roads per year for each local government ,just imagine that across all the local government's in Lagos. Not less than 700 roads will be done in a year compared to the paltry 114 ambode did in just his first year. If sustained at least 2000 roads will be constructed and repaired and maintained after four years. I am particularly harsh towards ambode and other past governors because Lagos has the smallest land mass of all the states in Nigeria and has the biggest IGR. Lagos is about 3500 km square while Niger state is 76000 and Oyo state is about 28000.Roads shouldn't be a problem same way having alternative means of transportation shouldn't be a problem. The main reason we need good roads and Alternative to road transport is cos of our huge population density . So many people in a small area of land that's 25 times smaller than Niger state and even at that Lagos has a lot of water bodies and beaches. God help Lagos |
JamesKudooski:Read the part one and enjoyed it.please is it possible for us to have an airtime purchase option for the book where we send airtime or do a direct transfer to you if possible for the book rather than the okadabooks or the other one. Some authors here also do this . Thank you |
The zoning of presidency between the north and south is based on recommendation not compulsion. The truth of the matter is there are 19 states in the north and fct in a way is also classified north . The constitution says you need at least 25 percent in two thirds of the 36 states and the fct. That's aside getting a majority of the votes. In other words, you need the highest number of votes and at least 25 percent of votes in 24 states. With 19 states in the north , a northern candidate for president will most likely get 25 percent in all 19 states and will then hustle for five states . This is quite interesting. I did the maths of this 2019 election and discovered that even if Buhari scored 0 votes in all the 17 states in the south whilst still maintaining all the total votes atiku got in the entire 36 states and the fct, Buhari would have still won the election simply by the majority of the votes . That's a cause for alarm because if another northerner decides to run for president in 2023 in any of the major parties all he needs is 25 percent in five states of the south all other things being equal et la the Buhari effect. At worst, there will be a stalemate but 2023 will be a year of reckoning for Nigeria, a game changer |

BabaRamota1980:It is well. I disagree quite alright but I said it in an easy way so both parties can focus on the issues. I get your point on the need to be firm but even that can happen with some diplomacy. All in all, I don't debate to win or loose but I debate or "argue" to learn and be enlightened with an attempt to find common ground and build from there. I however don't represent all Yoruba but I understand where you are coming from . God bless you sir or ma |
DesChyko:God bless you. I am glad you agree it's wise to seek caution. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a great week ahead. |
Auladimeji2:No need for that . We need to enlighten people not fight or cause violence . War and tribal clashes start from such and if the minority is not enlightened or educated it can spread like wildfire and no one wants war or clashes . We need to do more talking and enlightenment . God will help us all both igbos and yorubas and every other tribe . |
franchasng:Ok.we can agree to disagree. However I insist that the radicals on both sides of the divide are in the minority and we have a duty to enlighten and educate them. Even if the oba of Lagos in his characteristic loquacious manner tells me that Lagos is a no man's land , I will disagree with him as we don't know where the new Lagos will be whether Enugu or Katsina and it won't be fair to call them no man's land in future due to high migration. I and most people I know are not jealous of igbos success rather we are in awe and respect the hustle they show . I also don't think yorubas are scared or insecure but what joins us as yorubas with every other tribe is greater than what divides us and I choose to focus on the former than the later. We can a be Lagosians . Lagos can be a rich melting point of diverse cultures just like London but like I said no one can say London is no man's land . Toke by the way is entitled to her opinion and I disagree with her |
nnamdijonathan:mm I get where you are coming from but these people you refer to are the exception not the rule and as such are in the minority. I and most yorubas i know don't hate igbos. We love them . Their business savvy attitude and soups and ofcourse beautiful ladies. What we can both do is enlighten the radicals who are in the minority and Breed togetherness. There are some of my Yoruba friends who vote for Agbaje simply because they want to bring down the tinubu oligarchy. Others vote for reasons best known to them . But I believe a man is a man and an angel is an angel; during the presidential election, few people taunted some of us in the polling unit by saying Lagos is a no man's land and that they own Lagos and all. Spoke with them after voting and explained my original stand that we can all be Lagosians but no need for inciteful statements and we debated it and became friends afterwards. Some yorubas in the same place also said that igbos are arrogant . However these are in the minority. It won't be fair to use the opinion of the outspoken minority to cloud that of the silent majority . I agree politicians have tried to use division for their selfish reasons but we need to rise above that . Eko O ni baje. |
APC will win Lagos. I don't think our Igbo brothers and sisters should be persecuted and most igbos I know in Lagos also see themselves as Lagosians too as other tribes who have spent most of their life here . Lagos is cosmopolitan and every tribe plays their part to make Lagos great not just we yorubas. We need igbos same way we need every tribe . However what I cannot accept is when people call Lagos a no man's land. That's totally wrong . Amazing how some keep calling Lagos a no man's land . The thing is my mum is from Lagos. Lagos Island to be precise. She can trace four generations back to her family house in Lagos Island. The history of Lagos from the period of the aworis showed that yorubas dominated the landscape prior to the Oba of Benin expedition. Every Oba of Lagos has been yoruba. Historically, yorubas have been the dominant tribe in Lagos even before Nigeria became a nation Saying that Lagos is a melting point for everyone is acceptable. After all it is the commercial capital of Nigeria and so many tribes have lived their entire life here which is why its a melting point. London is another classic example as the curent Mayor of London is of Pakistani Origin but also sees himself as a Londoner. Look at the way Nigerians are moving to Canada for better opportunities in droves. Canada is also becoming a melting point. I cant imagine the Mayor of London now saying simply because he is of pakistani origin, London is now a no mans land. Or, the millions of Nigerians and Africans who have left for Canada should now turn back and say that Canada is a no mans land simply because maybe one Nkechi Adebunmi should become Prime Minister of Canada in future. The thing is when people say Lagos is a no mans land, they actually attempt to diminish the cultural ties that generations have had in Lagos prior to migration. Based on almost every known record, yorubas were the orignial settlers in Lagos. If I now move to Enugu or Kano and i am popular in my community there and i speak the language and i win a seat in the house of reps there and get a street named after me , can i then also turn arround and say Enugu or Kano is no mans Land ? Lagos is a melting point. You can say you are also a Lagosian. It can be our lagos together if you want but to say its a no mans land in the context people say is offensive/insensitive to say the least. |
I remember watching one of his movies ; simple baby. It's on YouTube. Funny and interesting with a unique accent |
Thought this man is a federal house of representatives member representing ishodi in Lagos. Well he's entitled to go for governor of his state. All the best to him |

Health Whether we like it or not, PUBLIC healthcare in Nigeria is going down .Doctors are leaving the country in droves and our public hospitals. I hope and pray that the incoming government will at least try to ensure that federal teaching hospitals can partner to world class teaching hospitals all over the world so as to have exchange of research and improvement of facilities. Hospitals can also have specializations and this can be encouraged to extend to state teaching hospitals and general hospitals. The MOST Important however is the primary health care centers. These centers are closer to the people however it is a sad state at times. There have been cases where women who want to give birth in such centers are given lists including petrol to bring along to aid their delivery in case the generator is needed to be used. All in All, quality healthcare is elitist. To get quality healthcare, you need serious money and it’s no surprise even our leaders don’t want to even take the risk here and always fly out of the country to take care of themselves. A lot of people of died due to underfunding of this sector. Funding of health through the NHIS also needs to be looked into and other ways to fund it. If there is any sector that needs subsidy, it has to be health and education. Quality should be number one priority before affordability hence subsidy may be needed after all due to poverty levels. CORRUPTION To explain corruption in Nigeria, I like to use an analogy. There is a tank of water with about 5 holes leaking underneath. Water is continually pumped into the tank and it continues to leak. Corrupt people or opportunists exploit the loop hole by going underneath the tank to fetch water rather than going through the tap like the normal way. The good news is one of the holes has been blocked by the introduction of the TSA(Treasury Single Account). The EFCCs job is to go after those that try to fetch from the holes and when they succeed they poor it back into the tank only for the holes to be exploited by a new set of people. Integrity or lack of integrity of a leader cannot alone suppress corruption; it takes innovation like the introduction of the TSA. However the easiest way to steal in the government now is through procurement fraud and contract fraud. It may not surprise you to know that the cost of a Panasonic AC unit at NNPC can be three times more expensive than the cost of the same AC in another government agency. The award of contracts is also a major source of corruption. One man can own all the companies that participate in a bidding process which then makes it a formality. I believe that every MDA should publish their contracts and procurement activities and associated costs on their official website. The procurement council should also be inaugurated and empowered to remove the power from the FEC to award projects. Most governors steal through award of contracts. Apart from innovation, fighting corruption can also be done via complete transparency. The FG for example spends 600 million naira daily feeding children in primary schools; I don’t think this is transparent enough. It would have been nice to have a website listing the number of children for each school and each local government that is involved and the numbers all over the country and a weekly report. Imagine if someone just decides to not feed all of the students in a week, that’s three billion naira lost already.i often ask myself if the loop holes that allowed dizeani to allegedly embezzle through proxies in nnpc have been blocked or not ? In developed countries, it’s not as if they don’t have bad people or corrupt people but the system is innovative and transparent and also if you steal, the system will come for you. Food security over agriculture is also critical. That food becomes available and affordable is critical. People don’t eat policies in agric and CBN interventions, let food be available and affordable is critical. All in All, I hope whoever wins this election will consider all this and try to make Nigeria better because I as a person is losing hope day by day. God help Nigeria.Written by LyonCrescent for Nairaland Politics Section ![]() Mynd44 OAM4J |
In 2015, the ruling party the APC campaigned on a change mantra. I and a lot of my friends and family were excited and pushed for President Buhari to win because as a person, I was of the opinion that PDP had failed the people. I was also of the opinion that if an incumbent can be kicked out at the federal level, then the incoming government will be on its toes. I was also happy with the change mantra as I read it to mean a change in the way things are done in Nigeria and not just a change of the ruling PDP. However, the PDP and APC campaign have been throwing jabs at each other with the APC also listing infrastructure, social programs among other things as its achievements in the past few years. I want to highlight what in my view are the critical success factors(CSF) which I believe should be key whoever wins the next election. Critical success factor is a management term for an element that is necessary for an organization or project to achieve its mission. In lay man terms, when you want to get an admission into university, most courses will ask for English and/or math and three other subjects depending on your course. The English is a critical success factor in this context because if you score A in all the others and score an F in English, you still won’t be considered as a success. I will be focusing on Security, Education, Health, Food Security and the Corruption fight. Please note that these CSFs are also applicable to state governors too. SECURITY Most times when we speak about security most people talk about the clashes and terrorists and book haram. I believe the most primary form of security which is the police has been a failure since 1999 till date. Nigerians don’t trust the police. There are few police success stories such as the likes of Abba Kyari and others but in general the Nigerian police are perceived with corruption. For example, the policemen who are posted in banks/companies and who guard VIPs, do they do it for free? Or do the banks and VIPS pay into the TSA for this protection? Remember that it was the Nigerian Police who killed Yusuf the founder of Boko Haram in handcuffs claiming he was trying to escape thus causing the book haram to go underground. Whenever the police encounters a crime scene, do they have best practice forensic tools and intelligence training to solve the crime or do they just torture and get confessions? I believe the Nigerian police should be well funded and trained and restructured. I don’t believe banks, companies and VIPs should have police attached to them as this makes the police which should be for the protection of the masses elitist. I hope one day I can visit a local police station in Ikorodu and the statement of a suspect can be taken electronically with finger prints captured and uploaded to a secured police database with the investigation carried our professionally same way the LAPD or Scotland Yard or even police of Botswana will do. Our police have been ranked as one of the worst in the world. We have the brains, we just need the structure. A police you can trust and believe in is a critical success factor. EDUCATION Just like security, when you talk about education, the next thing people tend to focus on is university education. Nigeria is an inverted country. It's only in Nigeria that you pay 35k per year for a course in Unilag and also pay 100k minimum per year for a cheap private primary school simply because nobody who has a choice will ever send their child to a public primary school but can send the same child when he or she grows up to a public university. How can we be proud of Unilag and not be proud of araromi primary school. It's only in Nigeria that they will say cut off mark for Common entrance in Zamfara is 15 while the cut off in imo or Ogun is 54. This indicates that if you have 20 marks from nasarrawa you can get admission to Queens college over someone who had 50 from imo simply because the nasarrawa person was born "dumb" ? This has been happening for decades and no one is doing anything about it. A state of emergency should be declared in the north regarding quality of primary education rather than reducing the cut off mark specifically for them. It affects them in the long run. I don't think any federal government college has been created since 1999 and even the existing ones are not expanded thus making secondary education to be more in private hands. School fees is killing a lot of households especially primary and secondary fees in the search for quality education. Imagine this scenario:you are working and paying your tax or even if you are not working and the public primary and secondary schools are of standard quality (teachers, teaching environment and teaching materials/methods), imagine you not having to pay school fees for almost 9 years of primary school and six years of secondary school. It happens in other countries too. I will rather not pay school fees for that period for proper funding of public primary and secondary then pay a premium fee to Unilag compared to the current system where you pay a premium for primary school education and secondary school education then pay Unilag your annual money for data subscription as school fees. I don’t think the school feeding can solve this problem. If children can be fed from Abuja, other aspects of their education can also be affected from Abuja. That the local government control public primary schools shouldn’t be an excuse. No matter the infrastructure we build, if we continue to have more children out of school and the poverty gap continues to expand, whatever we build today will be destroyed tomorrow. |
Legend. I remember him in the movie JIT performing several songs and his soundtrack in the movie neira. African legend. |
It is well |
Ogunlesi said of Jonathan:You will also need to do something about your communications set-up. Your achievements – and they do exist (these might form the basis of another letter) – deserve to do better than get lost amidst the din of mindless propaganda and abusive language flowing from your spokespersons and aides. You would need to come and meet Nigerians where they are – sadly trapped beneath layers of angry cynicism – to directly tell them what you’ve been doing, what you’re currently doing, and what you plan to do in 2014. A handful of Presidential Media Chats per year will no longer cut it; not in these dire times. You will have to face up to the difficult questions that Nigerians are asking, and answer them yourself. Go on TV, get on radio, get out there on social media. You can no longer continue to depend solely on a battery of spokespersons speaking dangerously off-the-cuff, hyper-excited by the sounds of their own intemperate voices. Amazing. How many media chats has buhari had since 2015 ? When last has buhari interfaced directly with Nigerians and Nigerian journalists ? Only for the same buhari to go outside the country and be talking. Its just sad but its where we find ourselves. Osibanjo the VP, attended the debate last december organised by BON. That means APC didnt have issue with the debate for the Vice president to attend. Surely Buhari should also attend the presidential debate scheduled for this month. God help Nigeria |
Morning, Please apart from Nokia care center, who can recommend where to repair the charging point of my Nokia 7 plus. It doesn't charge properly and the fast charge has stopped working. When it eventually gets to charge after folding and setting the cable, it charges very very slowly or it stops charging and starts discharging even when the phone is off. I have bought other type c chargers but its the same result. I heard Nokia care in ikeja takes a long time to repair phones thats why i am looking for another alternative. Thank you. |
