From my own experience and couple others i know, note: when you submit in lagos all passport are gathered and taken to abuja on Friday(whether you submit moday oo or Wednesday, it will taken to Abuja friday) then worked on during the week and returned back Friday.
What I'm saying is this, all submitted passport from 29th till yesterday gets delivered to abuja yesterday and will be returned this coming Friday
Thanks for this information. It's a big lesson cos I only need the visa for the conference and nothing else. Conference is 5 days and starts this monday. No plans to japa . Whenever they are done they should sha return the passport. Its just painful as my organisation would have given me a nice travel allowance . Na that one dey pain me and also the papers I had to present at the conference will now be presented by someone else. Its all good. How I wish VFS can make this your explanation above known to people so they can now choose where to submit.

Application /Biometric Collection Letter May 18

BVL and PPR May 26

If I knew what you just posted above I won't have
Submitted to Lagos VFS May 29. Even if I have to fly to Abuja to submit , it would have been better

Great I believe. Have you recieved BVL?
Is it this BVL attached below or another BVL. Not sure which one you are referring to. My process was particularly fast but to get the passport back is when everything went slow cos I submitted in Lagos VFS. My colleague in Abuja has same timelines as me. The only difference is he submitted this week Tuesday in Abuja VFS as they didn't open at Abuja VFS on Monday due to inauguration. I submitted at Lagos VFS on Monday the inauguration day. He got back his passport with visa yesterday while I got this message below yesterday. Its so frustrating to say the least. Should have submitted in Abuja

Your application, tracking ID No.has been received and is under process at the IRCC Office on Fri Jun 02 2023

have you checked document status on the tracker to see if there is a visa number and expiration date? I understand that could be an indication that visa has been approved but yet to be issued and I believe you have recieved BVL? You should check that.
There is a Visitor Visa Document number and expiry date listed when I checked just now

Emmafe was correct Good Morning. I should have submitted at the Abuja VFS. I submitted my passport at Lagos VFS on Monday the 29th of May and I got the message below yesterday morning . My trip is supposed to be this Sunday and is sponsored by my organisation. Don't know what to do again. When I track it , it says it is under processing at the Canadian visa office.

Your application, tracking ID has been received and is under process at the IRCC Office on Fri Jun 02 2023. This was the last mail I got.

My colleague submitted his passport in Abuja VFS as he's based in Abuja on Tuesday this week and got a message Thursday evening to pick up his passport which he picked up yesterday.

My advice for anyone if you want your passport back fast please submit at Abuja vfs.

Any idea what I can do as if I can't get it by Monday, I won't be able to go for the conference again.

Good Afternoon, Just got this message below when i tracked my ID. Any idea what it means..submitted at Lagos VFS on Monday this week.

Visa application, tracking ID No. Your processed passport has been forwarded to the Canada Visa Office on 2023/06/01. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website

Send to Abuja for fast processing. If you send to Lagos vfs, they’ll wait to gather more passport before they send to Abuja vfs who will forward to ircc processing center. Seems u don’t have much time, you cn do drop off in Abuja and also pickup in Abuja. My passport was delivered to Abuja vfs via dhl on Thursday, on Friday it was already in ircc processing center. Stamping takes 1-2days n sent back to Abuja vfs. So if you don’t have much time go to Abuja.

Webform and mails doesn’t work for passport stamping.
Wow. Thank you. Didn't know this. Already submitted in VFS Lagos today. Will tell my colleagues to submit in Abuja. Thank you
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Lyoncrescent: 10:21am On May 29, 2023
Good Morning All,Please is there any difference submitting passport in VFS Abuja compared to VFS Lagos in terms of speed in getting the stamped passport back ? VFS Lagos is open today as said above. Also if one wants it stamped same week as submission, can one send an email or webform because the conference the visa is meant for starts next week Monday meaning one has to leave this weekend. Thank you.

OK, just that my mum that we did biometrics this same day 18 of April has gotten blv, submitted passport n her passport is ready for pickup

It varies. Just ga banye chaplait n'ime mmiri. Day pray. That's all.
Please how long did it take from when she submitted her passport till when she picked up and was it VFS Lagos or Abuja
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Lyoncrescent: 12:33pm On May 27, 2023
If VFS won't open on Monday, surely they should send an email to let people who booked Monday to reschedule. The silence from them indicates they may work on Monday May 29 or does anyone have any other information?

Good evening all, please If one wants to make payment for a visitor visa for a conference, can one use Nigerian Master card or visa card to pay on the website and if not what alternatives are possible apart from a dollar card or domiciliary account card . Thank you

Well, I would suggest you applied first, you never can tell... There is no particular pattern they follow in approving VISAs...I applied September 2022 for a 2022 December conference but till date I'm still waiting for my PPR... though could join the one coming few months ahead...... So just apply and be hopeful... You could be lucky cos I've seen the one approved within one month here....
Thank you. Most times we often don't hope for Canada conferences due to their visa wahala. There's no option for fast track and the waiting times are always too long. We will apply and I believe . Thank you.

Good Evening Guys. Please I need advice. I was nominated for a conference by my organisation a federal government agency to attend in Canada with the corresponding agency there . The issue we have is the conference was announced late and due to bureaucracy we also got approval late and the event is holding first week of June. We have all the documents and all but is it possible in anyway to get a visa between now and the first week of June if one applies this week ?

For conferences that are announced like 2 to 3 months before the date, is there a way to get the visa within the time range for future purposes cos the timelines I am seeing on this thread is quite long. Thank you.

So he didn't win. It will be interesting to see the prayers of Atiku. At least Obi has spoken loud and clear that as he came 3rd he is not claiming he won but a new election should be organised.

Cantonese:
Did you clearly understand what you quoted?
I quoted to show that it was a Gun to the head kind of arrangement to the king. He didn't willingly sign away Lagos Island to be a colony . Same method the British used in British India and other colonies. The treaty was a gun to the head kind of treaty. Remember the reduction of Lagos had earlier occurred in 1851. So to now come and say it the way rufai is painting it is insensitive and is just him trying to push an agenda that won't hold. All the major players in Lagos for the past 500 years have Yoruba Names and Yoruba Culture. Colonisation cannot erase the truth. So the British colonised India and so what ? How does that affect the identity of an Indian during colonisation and before the Great partition?
PoliticsRe: Lagos Was Owned By The British For 99years- Rufai Shares Treaty Cession Document by Lyoncrescent: 4:38pm On Mar 15, 2023
A simple Wikipedia article with relevant references would have saved rufai the embarrassment. Rufai is not a deep thinker. He thrives on picking crumbs of information and running with it. Just search for Lagos Colony and see the results

Lagos Colony was a British colonial possession centred on the port of Lagos in what is now southern Nigeria. Lagos was annexed on 6 August 1861 under the threat of force by Commander Beddingfield of HMS Prometheus who was accompanied by the Acting British Consul, William McCoskry. Oba Dosunmu of Lagos (spelled "Docemo" in British documents) resisted the cession for 11 days while facing the threat of violence on Lagos and its people, but capitulated and signed the Lagos Treaty of Cession.[1] Lagos was declared a colony on 5 March 1862.[2] By 1872, Lagos was a cosmopolitan trading center with a population over 60,000.[3] In the aftermath of prolonged wars between the mainland Yoruba states, the colony established a protectorate over most of Yorubaland between 1890 and 1897.[4] The protectorate was incorporated into the new Southern Nigeria Protectorate in February 1906, and Lagos became the capital of the Protectorate of Nigeria in January 1914.[2] Since then, Lagos has grown to become the largest city in West Africa, with an estimated metropolitan population of over 9,000,000 as of 2011.[5]

All south west states have been declared ooo.
Only one south east state has been declared which is Enugu.
5 Yoruba states is giving Tinubu this figure.
Only Enugu and Lagos is giving Obi this wonderful figure.
So don't let this deceive you...
Obi is coming.
Obi doesn't have 25 percent in 24 states. Obi cannot win.
PoliticsRe: INEC Chairman, Yakubu Rejects Suspending Collation Of Presidential Results by Lyoncrescent: 4:44pm On Feb 27, 2023
Obi has lost the election. He had 25 percent only in Lagos for the south west. Thus he didn't have 25 percent in 5 states of the South West. I also don't see him getting 25 percent in kwara and 10 of the 13 North West and North east states combined. OBI can forfeit only 12 states for 25 percent but it will be more than that .

Lagos is no man's land

Lots of tribes are there
Highly Provocative. Lagos is Yoruba Land; the people, culture, language , chiefs , the kings and even its history. Even though it is a melting point of different tribes and ethnic groups, it is insensitive to say it is no man's land. I have attached the percentage of Emirati in UAE compared to the expatriate population from a study. Will the expatriate open their mouth and say UAE is no man's land simply because they are exponentially more in number ? Eko o ni Baje .
