itsdumebi: @POLITICSNGR
Human rights lawyer and newly appointed Strategic Communications DG for the Muhammadu Buhari 2019 presidential campaign, Festus Keyamo has said that President Buhari did not divided Nigeria along ethnic and religious lines.
He disclosed that the division started during President Goodluck Jonathan's time in power, adding that Jonathan used it during the 2015 election campaign period. He told Sun;
"In 2015, you saw that this country was divided by the North/South sentiments and the Christians/ Muslim sentiments. Who made it happen?
In 2015, who used religion to campaign? Certainly not Buhari, he did not go to mosque publicly begging Imams and praying in the Mosque, lying down before Imams to bless him and tell their followers to vote for him. He (Buhari) did not do that, so when you say the country is more divided, is it as a result of him? Certainly no. It was because of the dynamism of the politics that brought him into office; the politics of that time under former President Goodluck Jonathan.
But luckily for us, God is a kind God, because you know what? On 2019, those people who preached evil against the Hausa – Fulani, those who told their people that these people are not good, those who told their people not to vote for Hausa /Fulani people because they have a mentality of born to rule, these are the same people that have zoned their presidential ticket to the North now.
So you know what? They will now go back to the same people that they preached hatred against to undo what they did. They will now see themselves cap in hands, with shame on their faces, they will go back to their people and say, the Hausa/ Fulani are not too bad, let us vote for them. And on that day, their people will question their integrity, but you told us in 2015 that the Hausa/ Fulani are not good people, why did you give your ticket to them now?"

igbodefender: Nigeria is not at war. At least, unless you are in some Middle Belt States were herdsmen are disputing with farmers in a very bloody way, you won’t argue this point.
But the way people are leaving the country in droves, you would think it was the Titanic sinking.
People are fleeing because the economy is kaput. I mean, nothing works.
Electricity is almost nonexistent in a country that has lots of coal deposits lying fallow. Businesses are closing down fast because there is no one to buy and rents to pay.
Youths are hopeless and depressed because, no jobs. President Buhari said more than 60% of the population are youths. Most have no jobs. Hmm…
But I still have hope that my country will one day be the peaceful, lawful economically working country it was meant to be.

Education › Re: IMT: Enugu Govt. Approves N810 Million For Upgrade Of Infrastructure by LZAA: 9:08am On Apr 20, 2018 |
Babygiwa: In continuation of its efforts towards the repositioning and revamping of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, the Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration on Thursday had a final deliberation on the presentation earlier made by the Governing Council of the Institute and approved the sum of N810 million for further upgrade of infrastructure in the school.
Briefing newsmen, after a presentation at the meeting of the State Executive Council (EXCO), the Chairman of the IMT Governing Council, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, stated that the approval was given to address the “neglect and dilapidation of infrastructure in the institution for the past 45 years”.
Mrs. Nwobodo, who was accompanied by other members of the Council and top management officials, regretted that the infrastructure in the institution had been neglected and abandoned for so many years, prior to the inception of the present administration, adding that before now, apart from TETFUND projects, “every other project has not seen a coat of paint for the past 35 years”.
She noted that the Gov. Ugwuanyi administration had done a lot in renovating and revamping the institution to standard, pointing out that the administrative process that led to the recent approval commenced late last year. She added that the projects when completed “will enhance the quality of our students and turn around the face of the school to modern standard”.
The IMT Council Chairman disclosed that the school will execute projects the like of which “has not been seen before”, expressing delight at the governor’s passion for IMT, the welfare of the state and students as well as his commitment to qualitative and affordable education in the state.
Her words: “We have been given approval to commence, after due process, the construction of ultramodern classrooms, fully furnished and fitted with modern equipment like you can see in any of the international platform.
“We have gotten approval to build modern public conveniences for staff and students. We have also gotten approval to build a registry complex for the records and exams division. We equally got approval to build a student medical centre. All these things are what we have come to achieve”.
On the abandoned projects, Mrs. Nwobodo revealed that “the problem IMT has had was that certain projects were awarded in the past to incredible contractors that abandoned them”, maintaining that the new contracts will be awarded to contractors that have verifiable proof of performance and quality delivery of jobs in other places.
She also told newsmen that part of the presentation made to the EXCO, was highlights of the development plans for various departments, such as the school of fine and applied arts, engineering and accountancy departments among others, stating that “the governor had approved funds last year for the rehabilitation of the school’s television and radio studios.
“I want to state that we have a leader in the person of His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. I want to say that he is passionate about IMT. I want to tell everybody that the governor is very much interested in the welfare of the staff and students of the institution”, she said.
It would be recalled that Gov. Ugwuanyi, on assumption of office, took prompt and visionary steps aimed at revamping and repositioning the institute (and other state-owned tertiary institutions) to make it a degree-awarding institution.
A few months after his inauguration, the governor intervened by offsetting a backlog of unpaid workers’ salaries, mostly inherited from the previous administration.
Sequel to the completion of the process for the transition of IMT to a degree-awarding institution, the State Executive Council, despite the severe economic crunch in the country, approved the sum of N100 million for the school to meet the accreditation needs of various courses, among other interventions.

Kingsley10000: Yes 80% of Nigerians youth are Lazy.... The point here is, are most Nigerian youths actually lazy And my answer is YES. *How many of our youths today creates enough time to pay attention in schools, study, read their books in higher institutions? What they care about mostly is how to manoeuvre their ways to pass their exams. *How many are actually in schools where you kept them, not minding how you labour to pay their fees? *How many of Nigerian youths are into Yahoo, yahoo plus, human rituals, prostitutions at tender age? But to be realistic, 80% of our Nigeria Youths are Lazy..... *If not why would they prefer been used as thugs, than contesting. *Why would an Engineer, Pharmacist, Lawyer, etc graduate and start searching for jobs that is no where to be found when they can actually establish something on their own and employ others. *If they are not lazy, they are not creative. *How many Nigerian youths owns mansions, big cars, very expensive handsets while still searching for white collar jobs, jobs in oil companies etc? "How many of our youths can defend their discipline in university certificate when employed? *In a situation where your parents couldn't send you to school due to poor background, how many youths today still engaged themselves, serve as apprentices to artisans like mechanic, bricklayers, carpenters, even to business shop owners? Okada ridding is presently their preference for quick cash, with no plans for future. A typical Nigerian youth today roams the streets with girlfriends, browsing phones, visits drinking bars and night clubs, spending money with no single legitimate source or sources of income. In Nigeria today, over 85% of suspects arrested for robbery and other criminal activities are within the age brackets of 15 to 35, purely youths. *Must Nigerian youths wait for everything from government? *Must they all be waiting for white collar jobs? American said "Always think of what you can do for America and not what America can do for you", how many Nigerian youths believe in that? *Is it a crime for Nigerian youths to have creative skills like their counterparts in other nations and create jobs to assist the government? ARE NIGERIAN YOUTHS NOT LAZY . JUST TELL SOME NIGERIAN YOUTHS ABOUT "Bet9Ja", THEN YOU ARE TALKING. I am of the opinion that our youth of today needs serious orientation, if not, I wonder the kind of future we are creating for this beloved country Nigeria . u just compared hia to america wia there are things like welfare schemes job centres industries investment in human capital to here wia none of those things exist. Also most serial killers are white but only a clown will say all serial killers are white do u get the picture now? ur principal just gave the last blow to his election bid cc immhotep onyeoga |

So apparently, this is what our President thinks about the Nigerian youth. What do you guys think?
I have a suggestion. Whether you agree, or disagree with the President's comments, this time, do a little bit more than posting, commenting, retweeting, and complaining. Go and register to vote.
I've sat in countless meetings, seminars, conferences and hangouts with young people. We are always great at pointing out our issues.. but the truth is that we can sit around and complain from now until Kingdom come. IT WILL NOT MATTER. INEC will not count your tweets. Let's turn the month of May into #PVCMay.
Even if you don't know who you're voting for.. even if you hate every single candidate. At least register.. so that if someone comes along who you feel compelled to support, you can.
If you're really serious about wanting Nigeria to be a better place, go and register to vote. Get your PVC asap. The registration period will end LONG before the elections come, so if you think you can wait until next year, you are wrong.
Get your PVC today. Or don't bother complaining about anything, because it won't matter. Your tweets will not count. Your vote will.
