linearity: The old and the new testament is filled with references to the trinity.......God is God, Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God....all three combined are referred to as God.

Contrary to your statement, we also see the reference to more than a singular God during the creation in Genesis....

Gen 1:26..." And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

The words marked in bold above indicate that, there was not a singular God during the creation.

There has been a lot of emotion, anger, frustration and bitterness from both the pro-deregulation and anti-deregulation opponents. I am really happy to see Nigerians standing up to talk and act about issues that affect them. A big change from the past, where we just accepted things as the Nigerian way. It has brought up issues that go beyond removal of fuel subsidy which i believe are necessary and fundamental, if this nation is going to develop

To the issue of of removal of PMS subsidy i believe we should look at he matter dis-passionately and analytically.
1) Is fuel subsidy economically sustainable?
2) What is the best way to go about removing the subsidy?
3) What should be in place before its removed and what do we expect after it's been removed?
4) How do we hold Government accountable to its promises?(my brother who just came back from overseas, says he has not seen a country where the Government swindles it's people like Nigerian Government)
5) Is  the current structure of Government economically viable? where we spend 75% on recurrent expenditure and we have fat cat members of national assembly who are paid hardship allowance, while Nigerians walk to dilapidated schools without shoes

They challenge i pose is how do we proffer solutions and how do we ensure that things improve?bear in mind this so called cabal would not exist if
1) there is a sincere government (2) there are laws that are being enforced.

They so called cabal so an opportunity and just  took advantage of this.  here is a link to website of a group of  Nigerians who came together since the strike started and have been thinking of an alternative solution to this quagmire.feel free to comment and add your thoughts.website.-http://www.reflectnigeria.com and  http://reflectnigeria.com/data/documents/reflectNIGERIA12012012.pdf

Problems and situations require solutions and Nigeria is blessed with people who i know are capable of proffering solutions to any situation we find ourselves in

What nairaland xtain defenders of faith need to know is that muslims have been in Nigeria and will always be in Nigeria in huge populations. They sooner you learn to live with that the better.

Secondly i need to understand who your beef is with. Northerners or Muslims.Because a thread starts from bashing Northerners and ends up at Muslims or Vice-versa.

If the north is so bad and filled with hateful and man eating muslim northerners, why are xtians  espeacially easterners in every nook and cranny of the North from Zamfara to Adamawa.

one of the reasons the cost of subsidy grew from 200 billion to 1.3 trillion is because nigeria's population grew from 150 million to 167 million. Madam Okonjo Iweala i can't believe you said that.

How can 17 millions people between the ages of 1-4 yrs old increase the cost of subsidy astronomically. How much can these young ones increase  product consumption?
Ngozi please don't insult the intelligence of Nigerians.

Also notice the she didn't speak about reducing Governments overhead.e.g 1 billion for feeding at Aso rock

They keep using Ghana as an example. Ghanian government has done a lot to improve the lives of its people. they have earned the trust and confidence of it's people.
It has improved power supply, created jobs, made Ghana attractive to investors.
When all this were put in place, the government now decided to remove the subsidy without the people protesting. The people trust and believe the Government will do the right thing

ComputersRe: Which Is The Best Internet Connection In Nigeria? by M16: 8:29am On Feb 04, 2011
Nice thread and some posts have been very informative.
I have run through the whole gamut of ISP's from starcomms, mynetcom, MTS,zoom(when it was reltel).currently using swift 4G and i have MTN and Etisalat as back up.
One thing that i can gather is that Nigerians go through a lot of pains and payments to get reliable internet access. We pay so much for less, compared to many countries worldwide.
One thing i don't understand is the argument about location. When a service provider set up and sets out a roll out plan, it aims to provide good service wherever its services are being provided. It's either the roll out plan is flawed or the don't bother about quality service, if they are good in some locations and weak in other locations
If you are not ready for some areas then don't roll out there. It all boils down to the regulatory agency being weak of in-effective.We definitely don't deserve what we pay for.

My two cents on the service providers i have used and currently using. swift is the fastest and most reliable for now. But their customer service is crap

PoliticsRe: What Is Your Opinion On Capitalism? by M16: 1:28pm On Nov 03, 2010
Capitalism is supposed to about free competition and un-restrained  growth. why then does united states have anti-trust and anti-monopoly laws. Does it mean, you are allowed to grow, grow and grow, but to a certain limit.

Capitalism promotes growth, then suddenly turns around with much vigour to restrain or break down corporations it deems are to big. e.g Standard oil owned by John D. Rockefeller. Which to me its  hypocrtical. If growth is good ,then why restrain it.

Another example is what microsoft is facing with anti-trust and anti-monoply laws. Capitalist countries have laws that refuse corporations to merge with others  or take over others. (where is the so called reward for hardwork)

Capitalism doesn't want Governments interference when the going is good, but welcomes it when things go rough. Recent government bailout for banks and financial institiutions worldwide, post economic crises

Capitalism doesnt have a human face. thats why you have the have phrases like have's and have not, get rich or die trying

Also most if not all capitalist countries have protectionist policies for their markets and enviroments. So all this talk about free market and growth is a fallacy.

@ poster who said there is no food for lazy man in a capitalist system. come to the UK and see people on welfare living in 4 bedroom town houses and collecting monthly income for doing nothing. While people are working their butts off paying of mortgage and other bills

A few weeks ago, i watched George Soros being interviewed. He was discussing the topic of Greece and its economic crises. The guy was saying he was against bail out for Greece's govt, because it would allow the Government to repeat its mistake of over spending,in-efficiencies and what he thought  caused the problem of Greece.
The interviewer then reminded him of the implications of the govt going totally broke.Greek citizens losing everything, civil strife and all. His response was the Greek govt needed to be taught a lesson, so it wouldn't happen another time. he also said the from the ashes the govt would be better and more efficient. the interviewer was flabbergasted. If he could response, he would called Soros cold and heartless. His look said it all

I wasn't suprised coming from someone who nearly crashed the british economy and that of the whole South East Asia. Thats capitalism at its finest.

Capitalism has its pros. it is full of so many inconsistensies and falls short of being perfect or close to perfect

PRAISE THE LORD

At last Jonathan is admitting to zoning existing. thats a first step. His arguement now is whether zoning is before or after the elections.
Question is if zoning was not in place before election, will jonathan ever become vice president. why is it that the president and vice are not from the same zone.

So jonathan and his supporters should stop having selective amnesia or try to dance around the truth.

The issue of Jonathan being untainted by corruption is a fallacy. Madam Patience or is it Dame was being investigated by EFCC. Till now that case has not been closed. If jonathan becomes the president, it will be the first time a president will be elected with a case of corruption hanging around him or his family.

However sad and unfortunate the issue of zoning is, its a necessary evil Nigeria has to deal with, till we grow above tribal and ethnic sentiments. Politics is a game of numbers and some zones, tribes and regions have the numbers. This will make them always dominate the other zones, tribes or regions

PDP constitution is confusing and very unclear, but their should be honour amongst theives
