She has relayed her reservations about your relationship.
Let's make this truce last.
We are different people with varid likes and tolerance.
But variety is the spice of life.
Let's be tolerant of our individual differences.
Peace. No worries. |

Although this is shade thrown at me, I cant but marvel at how deeply poetic it is. Sounds like the description of a villain in a classic work of literature. I forget sometimes that ishilove can write.

Bratking: Lol, using Cannavaro to make your case, when there are people like Modric, shows you don't know anything about football. Go and sleep. Because Modric has won the world cup with Croatia? His Ballon D'or that was controversial. Or even the fact that he is still a modern player and that I needed players from an older era to buttress my point? Guy, swerve. |

Bratking: Nigga, it's obvious you don't follow football, The guy is a living legend in Italy and the rest of the world. The first defender to win a Balon D'or in over a decade, and have the gumption to insult him? You deserve a slap, noob. Oga, go and ask your 15 year old nephew who Cannavaro is and ask who david Beckham is All this your foolish emotional blackmail about Cannavaro cant work on me. If I could pull Cannavaro out of all players to make a point, shouldn't that tell you about my deep knowledge of football? I didnt mention Henry, Ronaldinho, Zidane....I went to Cannavaro....just think |

Something produced nothing while you were sleeping from nothing and it led to something when you woke up?. Lol. Goodluck with denial The brain produces something. Or maybe your brain is nothing. The fact remains that the brain produces nightmares. It is capable of producing abstract images. End of story |

LordReed: Fact. Nothing hits harder than reality. This coronavirus situation ought to highlight that fact to them a little more, even though I know they'll still hide themselves and be claiming Jesus magic.
One thing I like about my current situation is I am not afraid of this fact you outlined GOOD AND BAD THINGS WILL KEEP HAPPENING..... UNTIL WE DIE. Somehow I even find it comforting, the fact that just like the weather change is inevitable. I eat my daily bread with rejoicing, savouring every single bite, even if it is garri without sugar I am drinking and I am content. You sound like a mad man. I am an atheist myself. Reality is often depressing and sober. Happiness is fleeting when you know it will all end... |

I mentioned his world cup medal and best player (balon d'or) award before you replied. Dont say things that are obviously false. With Cannavaro's awards why is he not being remembered now unlike david Beckham who has less awards personally? |

Marilyn Monroe is remembered for having sexual relations with the Kennedy brothers. Without the Kennedys, her name will be irrelevant.
It's obvious you're a football novice, else you'd know Canavaro is a legend, and is touted as one of the best defenders to have played the game. In 2006, He timestamped his name in the history books, and people that matters will remember him 50-100 years from now.
Beckham is a national icon and one of the best dead ball takers in the history of football. his name will always come up whenever dead ball topics are been discussed. Football novice? Lol. |

CAPSLOCKED: IT IS NOT FALSE HOPE TO SAY THAT THINGS WILL GET BETTER. AFTERALL, THINGS MAY GET BETTER.
HOWEVER, IT IS FALSE HOPE TO BELIEVE THERE'S SOMETHING PROTECTING "YOU" FROM ABOVE AND MAKING REALLY WONDERFUL PLANS JUST FOR "YOU" AND YOUR FAMILY. I was talking in terms of a terminal illness where it will not get better |
Christianity Etc › Re: New Question For You Guys! (atheist Only) by MacCantStopMe: 11:59am On Apr 18, 2020 |
LordReed: Huh? There is nothing in the OP about terminal illness or death. Maybe read it again. In any case that is a different situation. Everyone knows death has a certain finality to even if they believe in an afterlife, the person will no longer exist in this world. I think assuring the person of your love is the best thing you can do at that point. I was only getting you to think about a terminal situation |

Christianity Etc › Re: New Question For You Guys! (atheist Only) by MacCantStopMe: 11:51am On Apr 18, 2020 |
LordReed: It is not false to hope that things will get better nor is it false to express such hope. My understanding from the op is someone who is suffering terminally. Someone who is going to die. heaven is a way of consoling the person. Now, you as an atheist who knows heaven is not real, how do you comfort the dying person without false hope? Use false hope and you are no better than the religious charlatan.... |

RealMrNigerD: 1.)You seem like you're not paying attention to yourself. The brain from existence realm is linking up to non-existent realm. And you're even able to have memory of a non-existent realm. Explain that logically? Do you know that the universe is a closed system. Net flow of energy is constant- Law of thermodynamics.
2.)Secondly, you say the brain induces fear through the nightmare. You shoot yourself in the foot. Can the brain induce fear with nothing?
3.)Again, how can the brain induce anything at all. What caused the brain's inducement when you were sleeping? Your questions have been answered. Reframing them will not change anything. God does not exist. |

LordReed: Maybe but it is hope giving which is probably all you can do in such situations. The ability to tell imaginative stories is part of the reason we are able to manipulate our environment more successfully than other animal species. I vehemently disagree. False hope is dangerous |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by MacCantStopMe: 11:29am On Apr 18, 2020 |
Bratking: Does the name Cary Grant ring a bell to you? I bet it doesn't. Grant once upon a time was the 2nd most popular actor in Hollywood, unfortunately, he retired without winning any major awards. Today, no one remembers him, and it hasn't even been 100 years yet.
People are remembered more for personal achievements, than high grossing films. Zoe Saldana has starred in 3 highest grossing films in the history of hollywood, and yet, she's still relatively unknown. Why? She has no personal glory to her name. These are facts. That is crap and you know it. If you read my previous comments, you would see that I made mention of cultural and iconic moments. Why haven't we forgotten Marýlin Monroe? She was a sex icon. It is not by winning awards. I have never even watched any of her movies. Just pictures and references to her. Canavaro won world cup and best player. Many teenage football fans barely know him. Beckham that has never won world cup or even smelt best player in Europe is more relevant than Cannavaro. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Atheist Challenge- 30 Days, 30 Arguments Against God by MacCantStopMe(op): 11:05am On Apr 18, 2020 |
RealMrNigerD: Hear yourself now my friend so you can see the disconnect in your logic. You say a dream is the brain creating abstract images of nothingness. So, a brain, determinable matter, in an involuntary(while sleeping) flow of blood(scientificically determinable) produces a dream(not scientifically determinable) which we have no active part in making up. 1)If the above is true and you call this dream 'nothing', yet you are able to experience this nothing, then you are either a composition of nothing and something(0×1=0), which doesn't exist, a being with the ability partake in an a nothing realm and matter realm. Or, there is just another dimension outside of this physical dimension that you are unable to determine.
2.)If the dream is a nightmare, it creates an involuntary fear in the perceiver(a child especially). This fear can lead to a scientificically determinable increase in heart pulsations in the body. All this achieved involuntarily and due only to the dream of 'nothingness'. Hence energy flow (pulse), was created by 'nothing'. First law of conservation broken. Isn't that so unscientific? I knew where your argument was going. There is nothing new in theology. The point here is that dreams, nightmares and imaginations are all abstract images conjured by the physical brain. The brain produces abstract images.the brain exists physically while the imagination is abstract. This is why your nightmare argument is flawed. It is the brain that induces that fear THROUGH the Nightmare. The same would be true for a hallucination. The brain is conjuring abstract horrors. And whennyteating a child who is scared from nightmares, what does one do? One tells the child that the nightmares are not real, and also to stop watching horror movies. |

RealMrNigerD: Just wanna have a respectful exchange, ok. Let's start with dreams. 1) Can we neurophysiologically determine or establish dream content at all? If not, can we then deny the experience of dream content? Take note, determination of REM is not an direct absolute neurophysiological determination of dream content itself Guy, you argument is taking too long to start. Let me cut it short- you want to argue that SINCE WE CANNOT PROVE THE DETAILS OF OUR DREAMS, YET THEY EXIST, THEREFORE, ONE DOES NOT NEED TO PROVE THE DETAILS OF GOD. If that is your argument, then it is weak. Our imaginations do not exist. It is just our brain creating abstract images from what we know. If your God is similar to imagination or dreams, then he is an abstract insignificance. |

ARGUMENT 2 (DAY-2 18/APRIL/20) THE PARADOX OF OMNIPOTENCE
We agree that a "married bachelor" can not exist because it is contradictory and self-refuting. An omnipotent God is self-refuting and contradictory.
-omnipotence is the ability to do all things. To have all abilities -However, some abilities are contradictory to each other, or some actions negate each other -To sleep means you are not awake, for instance. You cant be asleep and awake at the same time.
God has the ability to live for ever. Eternal life. However, that means that he can not die and he doesn't have the ability to kill himself
