Everyone can see that Anony has nothing that he can use to criticise the humanist manifest and has to bring in 3 straw men of the apocalypse to help him with his dubious narrative.

These theists are failing hard. Just like Deepsight embarrassed himself on the evolution thread https://www.nairaland.com/1212475/evolution-simpletons

Anony, you are truly useless. You brought up an imaginary atheist creed which was quickly ridiculed and debunked but when faced with a humanist creed (Humanist manifesto), you have nothing. You are weak
Lol, it amuses me how you seem to think that you have some sort of entitlement to my time. I can choose to log off and log on as I see fit. . . .and no, having other things to do does not equate to "running away".
I have decided to proceed with our discourse by asking you a simple question. A "yes", "no" or "I don't know" would probably have been a good place to start. However you chose the dishonorable path of dishing out insults. As I said earlier, if you are not willing to proceed sensibly, I really can't help you.
These tricks can work on mindless sheep like Ihedinobi but not me.

You asked a straw man question.

The equivalent of picking a quote from the Bible and ask if the christians agree with Oyedepo or Hitler.

The bible or the manifesto are there. No strawman is needed to agree or disagree with it. Humanist manifest came after these Darwin and Marx. So why bring them up if not for dubious purposes.

You are a douchebag
Well my friend, if you won't take the discourse seriously then I really can't help you.
You are a real dubious douche!

First, you avoided the thread by running away yesterday

You avoided it today and I brought your attention to it today

Then you now take a quote from the humanist manifesto and bring up Marx, Darwin and Freud, who have very little or nothing to do with it.

You are not serious. That was a douche move and thank the Spag monster that people are seeing you for who you are. Note that my comment got likes despite the abuse.
They aren't strawmen. Marx, Freud and Darwin would agree completely with the above statements. Perhaps the problem is that you are not acquainted with their work.

Maybe you should take some time out to educate yourself on their worldview and philosophy then come back and give an answer.
You are foolish. You have nothing.

Waste of time.

You just brought up 3 people who arent deeply religious and you disagree with. Darwin and Marx have nothing to do with this. Stop playing strawmen.

What does Marxism or Darwinian evolution have to do with this? Or even Freudian psychology?

Abeg stay on focus.
@macdaddy, You agree with this.

What does the quote there have to do with Karl Marx and co?

Why do you start with all these dubious tactics? If you have something against the humanist statement,say it. Dont waste my time with strawmen
My dear friend, If you are going to claim that a contract that limits a person's sexual activity is a breach of basic human rights, then I fail to see how it is not equally a breach of basic human rights to dictate what soft drink a person chooses to drink.
I think your problem is that you describe evil as a tangible thing rather than a corruption of a created thing. fellis: Hi, deols and maclatunji. How is your day going? Hope fine smiley

Anyway, I am curious about something and I need your opinions on it. It is in light of the verse I quoted earlier about men excelling over women.

The Quran, chapter 4 (An-Nisa), verse 34:
“ Men are guardians over women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means.

In the verse above, it is stated that men are guardians over women because they have been given more than women and because they support women from their means. I take it that 'means' in the verse is referring to financial means, so I was wondering, what about in a situation where the woman has a job and the man does not? Or in a situation where there is equal contribution in the marriage, with the wife supporting the family just as much as the husband does financially? Does that change anything about the man being the guardian of the woman?

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedules to answer.

Most of what I wrote earlier were my expectations of religion even as a child!

Christianity EtcRe: How Do You Know The Right Religion Or The Right God?. . . by MacDaddy01: 3:16pm On Mar 03, 2013
vedaxcool: Islam is the right religion because its message is not time bound/, that is people irrespective of time could have easily practice the religion, let me put it like this, the message is there is no diety worthy of worship except Allah, this remains the message that Islam has all been about, Allah guided mankind at different age with the same message, worship the one true God and obey his commandment, the Qur'an tells us every nations was guided by God, and he sent messengers to every nation on earth, who guided these people to the path of worship of God and legislature which maintained law and order in the society! Furthermore we learnt that this religion deviated from their true messages etc, hence they became aldultrated with practices that are not what was commanded, moving forward for a religion to be true it practices must not be time bound that is depending on actions of certain individual, islam passes this, it must not be a race stuff, that is members of a certain race are allowed exclusive position, in essence it must be a religion open to all, the religion must be clear in its message and not being everything to everybody, the religion must not be a cacus thing, that is certain individuals are the only ones who have deep knowledge of it practices like most African tradition religion its practices seems to depend on priest who alone knows the practices, the religion must not contradict claims it make in other word had this book been from any other than Allah, you would find in it many contradictions, the religion must be practicable or must have been practice, the religion must be free from strange logic like worshipping an object that claims to be deity but cannot even utter a word . . . Islam does not only surpasses this expectation but provides more that humanity would eventually benefit from!
First bold;
Islam is bound by time. There is a quote saying that muslims shouldnt take Jews as friends and another saying that muslims should kill unbelievers. Those two verses only applies to the historical context of wars between Jewish tribes and Muslims in the 7th century. Or else, islam is then a terrorist religion.
-Same as the old testament in christianity- regulations for Jewish societies in the past.

Second bold;
That is an islamic lie. Which messenger/prophet went to Nigerian tribes? Which messenger went to Japan? Abeg

The third bold;
There are contradictions in the Quran. One can not decide whether hell is eternal or not in the Quran
Muhammad flew into heaven on a winged horse. That is scientifically and geographically impossible. Flying up only carries you into oxygenless space

I think thread like this should be lock using the law proposed that mcdaddy which he claims already runs here, the same person posting, repeating the same thing, the same line of argument over and over again, should using his laws be on permanent ban!
^^^

An example of a muslim filled with irrational hate. In my quoted comment from Vedaxcool, I said that one must always defend his point logically. I made a logical defense of my points here on my thread. I explained the reasons why the person in the op left islam, I pointed to the Quran for wife beating and I also pointed to the 6 respected translations that say so. Even some muslims here support the hitting of the wife!

As for being repetitive, am only replying those who comment. So I dont know why you are using strawmen.

Read the quote you put up and notice how I emphasised on proving your claims and using logic;

Logicboy03:

You have a brain, I assume?

Imagine if I brought the confession of some terrorists and said that islam is positively related to terrorism? Isnt that the same thing you are doing? Would that even be allowed in the Islam section?

When they ban you, you would be complaining. You cant even make a logical defense for your point.

MMC allowed you the first time to prove your points logically even though you were failing and trolling. Now you are doing the same.

If you cant prove your abusive claims, it becomes slander. Repeating that slander after being proven wrong many times and calling atheists gays is not going to go down well with any reasonable person. Your Master, Maclatunji would give a pernmanent ban for less.
Christianity EtcRe: How Do You Know The Right Religion Or The Right God?. . . by MacDaddy01: 2:16pm On Mar 03, 2013
mazaje: Generally, what you hear one of the following sorts of replies to the question of "why is your religion or god the right one?'

- My religion/god is the right one because it is the right one.

- My religion/god is the right one because it is so obvious it is the right one.

- My religion/god is right because it has proved to me it is right.

Now, these are not said explicitly, but implied:

- My religion is right because my religious leaders told me it is.

- My religion is right because it is the religion of my /family/culture and surrounding society, and we are the best.

I am just waiting for any body that will give me a specific reason with observable evidence as to why one god/religion is better than the others. . . .
Here are further answers from christians

-Jesus is alive and the other Gods are dead (huh Where is Jesus living on earth if he is alive?)
-The bible has withstood the test of time and attacks (huh so has the Quran and the teachings of Buddha)
-Jesus is the most influential man in the world (huh and Obama remains the most influential black man- doesnt mean he is right)

From muslims

-The quran is a miracle and perfect (A book that reads poorly in English translations with repetition of suffering for unbelievers)
-Muhammad was the greatest prophet/man (So great that he introduced nothing new to the world- not the greatest general or the most peaceful man or the most chaste manwith many wives)

All that matters is the contract the teacher signed. No premarital sex. Period.

It doesn't matter how foolish the codes of the college are, what matters is that she entered into a binding contract with the college. I find it to be silly and hypocritical of christian colleges to be asking such of employees but there you go.

However, the school might have to amend its policies if the only way for them to identify premarital sex is through pregnancy. That there is a lawsuit for gender discrimination.

Christianity EtcRe: Be Wise, Touch Not God's Anointed! by MacDaddy01: 11:59am On Mar 03, 2013
GraceBestowed: What has been baffling me lately is the complete disregard people have displayed for the men and women of God. By 'men and women of God', I'm referring to the well known pastors, and pastors in general.

I realise that even Christians get caught up in this blame game, and for a moment, you can't really tell them apart from non-Christians.

Most of the pastors I see people bash are truly anointed, filled with the Spirit, and are doing the work of God! When you go against the grain, accusing, insulting, and castigating them, God is not finding it funny, and you will have yourself to blame, when the consequences come.

Whether or not you think someone is truly of God, keep your mouth shut, please, don't speak evil of something you're unsure of, or don't know [he said, she said, is NOT a true account]. David knew that Saul was the anointed of God, and refused to kill him, even when Saul made his life a living hell. When God anoints someone, the anointing still stays on their life, even if they mess up, they just cannot operate in it without the presence of the Holy Spirit!

This is not done to arouse any sort of ill feelings, but the truth must be said. God has said, 'touch not mine anointed', and as believers we need to adhere to what God has said!

Remember to give Him thanks, in everything!

All His love!!
