HumbledbYGrace: Logicboy...stop reading between the lines please!
Would you marry somebody who you don't share interests with? Someone who would be noisy while praying? IMO I think your girlfriend doesn't really know what she is getting herself into; because by the look of things. After some time you will tell her that she is noisy when she worships or pray in your absence. You will tell her that there are more important things to be done at home when she has to go to church....let's face it!
Your a dictator and I feel for your woman I am not a dictator.........I am a DICKtator. On a serious note, I dont bother my GF when she prays. She can go to church but she can not drag me. I live my life as an example and she can follow a better life. My house is extra clean on sunday mornings and there is excellent food on sunday afternoon. When she is in church, she is thinking of coming to eat in my clean house As for you, you will marry a man that feels that it is his god given right to lord over you. Happy married life |

Ihedinobi: Lol. However much you howl and cry, it won't make the questions go away, mister.
So who or what made it a fact? You? How do you know that nobody knows? On what authority do you say so?
In other words, I'm still right in saying that all evolution has even attempted to do is guess at the mechanisms by which various life forms came about. It hasn't quite explained the mystery of life, how it came to be, what it really is and what it is about.
My friend, there is such a thing as associative speech. While I'm willing to lock horns with you over just how much of what I'm enjoying in this life is due to atheists, it really is not the issue here. We are talking of atheists as atheists. Some really good engineers, scientists and doctors are atheists no doubt, but how many of you are willing to put your brains to work on the matters of belief and disbelief? You never want to answer questions that arise from the atheistic stance on life but you insist on theists answering for their own stance. I think it's because people are unwilling to really think about existential questions that they remain atheists.
Questions like what and what? lol evolution is a guess. lol someone knows the origin of the universe (even when our cosmologists and scientists are nowhere near unraveling it) ============== I have explained morality from evolution I have given reasons why I do not believe in god Yet, you go on to say that atheists do not answer questions. Intelligence is the skill of learning and adapting to new information, making distinctive decisions based on the information and thus influencing the environment.
The only place where intelligence and religion will intersect is when a theist, agnostic or atheist tries to justify their beliefs using information that is already available to them, or tries to fit their beliefs into newly gathered information that's about to influence their decisions. . |

Ihedinobi: When did "I don't know" start to mean "nobody knows"? How do you know that nobody knows? Do you suppose that the knowledge does not exist?
Are natural processes descriptive of or are they the reason for this order?
Why is the question nonsense?
Can you explain what the condition, "before life" is like?
See above too.
Um, irreducibly complex enzyme chains evolved from less complex chain structures that left behind some [u]reducibly complex[/b] parts behind.
You're actually saying that once upon a time enzyme chains that today cannot be reduced in complexity without their losing their very nature and character were not so complex chains that became what they are today by losing parts of them that were complex but which could retain their character and function after losing some of their complexity? So we have today enzyme chains with irreducible complexity because there were once chain structures that were not complex? So evolution here cost a thinning down? Ok, so where did the gross from which the fine was produced come from? Why did it first amass a lot of uselessness just to lose it and get to the useful core?
If I understand you correctly, a clay pit can be broken down into smaller blocks of clay by using a mold or a potter's wheel and some fire even though it cannot ordinarily be reduced in complexity and this analogy explains your answer in the earlier paragraph. Perhaps you could show us how?
How exactly does the evolutionary ability/need to communicate result in so many different types of languages?
Ok. So what happened?
But evolution has it that chance and necessity is why and how everything exists. Are you saying that evolution implies that everything that resulted from chance and necessity resulted ultimately from independent thought or at least a conscious being?
In other words, we are self-aware because we have brains. Do you hold then that all organisms that have brains are self-aware?
If man is free to be materialistic or not and that is free will, are we not inferring choice and therefore responsibility? To whom or what is man responsible for his choice to be materialistic or not?
Why is your question better? Does it help to answer the question you were asked? Or is it an attempt at evasion?
We know that. But how do you as an atheist account for the reasoning that produces conscience?
Give us one example, if you may.
So suffering matters only because we can feel it. Lepers must be the most carefree people on the world then, if it is true that their condition comes with an inability to sense pain.
Oh, I don't know where to start with this one. Your answer sounds an awful lot like, "we are important because we're not animals". Is that what you're saying?
But what is a psychopath, evolutionarily speaking?
So the more we know the less we believe in the supernatural, right? That means that all the people at the frontiers of science and technology ought to be atheists. Are they?
First off, if you ever dreamt of a dog, can you prove that you did? If you can, give us some idea how you would prove it. If you can't, tell us if really that means that you did not in fact dream of a dog.
Second, how does the debunking of a belief mean the inexistence of the supernatural? In other words, if at all it has been proved in fact that man was not created out of dust, it most definitely means that the people who believed that were mistaken, but how does it in fact prove that no supernatural creator exists?
Third, could you cite a few of these proofs? One or two will do.
In other words, you do not positively know that there is no such thing as life after death. So there might actually be thus making the Christian's concern with it legitimate.
So, for some really weird reason, the Church has marched on rather than die for more than two thousand years by perpetuating myth, lies and war, but empires that have thrived on the same things have failed to survive even that long. Why is that, do you know? lmao.... All you are saying is "yes but" Lets take the first question/answer for instance; Nobody knows the origin of the universe. What did you try to argue? You made a strawman claim that I said that the knowledge of the origin of the universe doesnt exist. Please, if you have been fed the facts, dont start trying some anonynising questions out of desperation |

Ihedinobi: @MacDaddy (per your first comment), Lol. You mean the best explanation for life is that and I paraphrase you, "nobody knows the origin of life. If anybody says they do, they're lying." Who ever said that evolution explained life? Once you demand how life came to be here and why it is here, you start stuttering and making excuses. Even were we to accept evolution, what question really does it answer? Where man came from? To that you take us to primordial soup and cannot answer where the primordial soup came from with any competence. You dare to go to the Big Bbang, you still can't explain how nothing exploded into something. However far back you try to go to answer how man came to be here with evolution you can't escape the fact that something has always been here. But evolution can't tell us what it is. That means that evolution cannot answer how man came to be here in terms of origin, it only putters around with mechanism and even then it's done quite a bit of guessing and supposing.
So, no, evolution has not explained life. It has only tinkered with the mechanisms of life and not very convincingly too.
So if they did, that somehow proves that atheism answers some questions. What questions have the brains of these "atheists" of yours answered with the creation of the computer and the OS? And I'm agreeing for the sake of argument that you are right that the invention of the computer and the OS are due to atheists.
Finally, how does the membership of national academies of advanced nations prove that atheists are not intellectually lazy? Is it the atheism of the atheists numbered in those institutions that enabled them to be there? Or was it their science that did? You are silly and when stumped by facts you resort to silliness. No one knows the exact origin of life and the universe. Fact. I never said that evolution explains the origin of life. It however explains this current life as we are all evolved organism. Evolution starts with life already existing. Furthermore, I was responding to your claims of intellectual laziness by atheists. Actaully, much of what you enjoy in this life is based on the hardwork of atheists. Shows how silly you are. Evolution answers many questions about life on earth. Now was Darwin was an agnostic/atheist. Most biologists in the West are atheists. Think before you taljk |

1.What caused the universe to exist? Ans- nobody knows the exact origin of the universe, including you and your religion
2.What explains the fine tuning of the universe? Ans- First the fine tuning argument is very ambigous (how fine-tuned is the universe? Are the constants always constants) and second most "order" in the universe can be explained with natural processes
3.Why is the universe rational? Ans- Nonsense. What is an irrational universe? What is a rational universe? Is the universe alive? Mtchew
4.How did DNA and amino acids arise? Scientists are still finidng out because the evidence is now pointing to a possibility where DNA could have existed before life itself due to their ability o generate RNA from chemicals that probably existed on early earth
5.Where did the genetic code come from? See above. Then add some evolution
6.How do irreducibly complex enzyme chains evolve? From less complex enzyme chain structures that evolved leaving some reducibly complex parts behind
A clay pit is irreducibly complex. You can not break it down into smaller blocks of clay. It is achieved by using a mold or a potter's wheel and some fire. After the pot is ready, the fire and mold are no longer necessary.
7.How do we account for the origin of 116 distinct language families? Humans living in different social and geographical environment and the evolutionary ability/need to communicate
8.Why did cities suddenly appear all over the world between 3,000 and 1,000BC? Suddenly appear? They didnt suddenly appear. Dont ask us to explain your magical interpretation of cities that you suddenly discovered.
9.How is independent thought possible in a world ruled by chance and necessity? Chance and neccessity is the product of independent thought or at least a conscious being.
10.How do we account for self-awareness? Our brain working in tandem with our central nervous system (plus other parts of the body). No brain, no awareness
11.How is free will possible in a material universe? Depends on how you define freewill. Man is free to be materialistic or not. A better question would be how does freewill exist with an omniscient god?
12.How do we account for conscience? The brain and reasoning
13.On what basis can we make moral judgements? Survival, harm and reasoning.......( a result of evolutionary instincts)
14.Why does suffering matter? Because we are conscious enough to feel and hate pain.
15.Why do human beings matter? Because of our evolutionary need to survive Because we have only one life Because we are social animals and need each other, we need company Because we are conscious enough to witness and marvel at our universe
16.Why care about justice? Because I am not a psychopath
17.How do we account for the almost universal belief in the supernatural? Evolutionary instinct of fear of the unknown Any inexplicable event or technology is like magic to the ignorant Ignorance about the workings of the universe
18.How do we know the supernatural does not exist? No evidence Historical records of science debunking many past claims of supernatural origins of many events (Rain is shower from heaven, thunder is anger of the Gods, the world is balanced on a god's back, man was created from dust)
19.How can we know if there is conscious existence after death? We dont know There is no evidence to suggest that there is The brain holds consciousness, we do get blackout when the brain is impaired....death might be the same
20.What accounts for the empty tomb, resurrection appearances and growth of the church? Myth, lies and wars |

2nd law of thermodynamics is continuously missaplied to evolution. Here is a simple explanation to Ooman and his pseudoscientific pals In a Nutshell A common argument against biological evolution is that the theory contradicts the second law of thermodynamics. The second law says that disorder, or entropy, always increases or stays the same over time. How then can evolution produce more complex life forms over time? The answer is that the second law is only valid in closed systems with no external sources of energy. Since the Earth receives continual energy from the Sun, the second law does not apply. Or is that not enough for you? There is more Defining the System However, this objection is grounded in a misunderstanding of the second law, which states any isolated system will increase its total entropy over time. An isolated system is defined as one without any outside energy input. Because the universe is an isolated system, the total disorder of the universe is always increasing. With biological evolution however, the system being considered is not the universe, but the Earth. And the Earth is not an isolated system. This means that an increase in order can occur on Earth as long as there is an energy input — most notably the light of the sun. Therefore, energy input from the sun could give rise to the increase in order on Earth including complex molecules and organisms. At the same time, the sun becomes increasingly disordered as it emits energy to the Earth. Even though order may be increasing on Earth, the total order of the solar system and universe is still decreasing, and the second law is not violated.
Misapplication of The Second Law To claim that evolution violates the Second Law of Thermodynamics is also grounded in a misunderstanding of where the law applies. Nobody has ever figured out how to apply the second law to living creatures. There is no meaning to the entropy of a frog. The kinds of systems that can be analyzed with the second law are much simpler. A living organism is not so much a unified whole as it is a collection of subsystems. In the development of life, for example, a major leap occurred when cells mutated in such a way that they clumped together so that multicellular life was possible. A simple mutation allowing one cell to stick to other cells enabled a larger and more complex life form. However, such a transformation does not violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics any more than superglue violates the law when it sticks your fingers to the kitchen counter. #Ooman and his pseudoscience debunked |
