An least setting up a commission to repair and manage our cultural and heritage wouldnt and shudnt cost Billions.

IMO i think it is of great importance to preserve these monument for posterity. They are priceless.

The location of the pyramids were sacred, devoted and dedicated to a deity called Uto Nsude in Ugwu (hill) Uto village, one among the ten villages that made up of the (My) town called Nsude. The pyramid still exist till date, Its important to note that Nsude were noted for their victorious wars with their enemies of which other neighbouring town do hire them to fight for them when the needs occurs and in such cases ultimate victory is assured. The pyramids and its environ also serve meeting points when sensitive issue were to be discussed due to is location and obscurity during the reign of Eze Okwuluogha (EZE ONYE AMA NEKE) of Eke.

In Udi LGA Enugu State, the most popular clan is OSHIE Clan(Oshie Aniugwu), Osie Clan consist of the children of Agbaja i.e Oshe grand parent, Oshie married to NNUDE and they both had seven children altogether namely:,Nsude the worrior,as first son, followed by Eke from where the legend EZE ONYE AMA NEKE(Chief Onyeama n’Eke ) comes from, others were Nneke(the only daughter of Oshie)followed by Udi, Abia, Amaokwe (its not clear what made some part of AMaokwe to be excluded from among oshie clan up till today) then the last son of oshie being OBOIMA is partly recognize as a son of Oshie due to various reason as I was informed,
1., It was said that OBIOMA the last son of Oshie eat Udele(Vulture) which was and is still forbidden in many communities world over till date, hence they were called OBIOMA NWAOSHIE OLI UDENE(Obioma the son of Oshie that eat Vulture) and this very offence resulted into many factor responsible for not according them ( Obioma)the rightly recognitions and place as true son of Oshie, which in turn was a result of my town Nsude doing intermarriage with Obioma as non relative.
Oshie communities except Obioma do not intermarry, for they are descended from one man; Intermarriage is totally forbidden between the people of Nsude, Eke, Amaokwe, Abia, and Udi.

The most notable high priest who serve Uto deity, Chief OKWESILIEZE 1 who was born on November 12th 1902 reliably told us that the reason behind the construction of the pyramids were as a result of frequent wars been engaged by Nsudians of the olden days, the Uto hill otherwise known as Udi hill being the highest hill was chosen to erect the pyramids which serves as surveillance platform for the warriors and that at the southern part of the pyramids were two entrance gates though not notable due to camouflage nature of the entrance to avoid unlawful entry by unauthorized person/s.

Its therefore, not true to the best of my knowledge that ''The Nsude pyramids was built in the year in 1935, the date suggested was rather the date the Europeans discovered the great pyramid during one of their exploration mission in Nsude, The exploration mission started in 1891,The white Brithish man named LUKE Walter whom we referred to (Luke nwa owerri) who did geographical survey and explorations for solid mineral in various places in Nsude including the UTO HILL.

Why i refute the assertion that the pyramid was built in 1935 was because the High priests whom i know very well told us that his father were among those that supervised the Constance repair and beatifications of the pyramid with local materials made of Red Ulo( Red starchy mud), Nsi Efi(Feces from cow) and Obara(A Local dye tapped from tree) and that his father was not born when the said pyramid was constructed.


The commander of Nsude warrior through out the reign of Chief Onyeama n’Eke is UTO a strong man from the Ugwu (hill)village named after the warrior Uto which subsequently bear its name till date as Uwgu Uto VILLAGE, during one of the most fearful war with Chief Onyeama n’Eke `s enemy.before he died in the battle among the promises made to him (Uto) was that the Uto hill will be consecrated and serve as his memorial place, he was buried there and up till today a week long ceremony were set aside to worship and commemorate his bravado by all of Oshie sons and daughter called NKWA DAY which is one of the greatest Nsude feast and festival ever recorded and best of all kind of festival in Enugu state till date. The mode of dressing during the Nkwa festive were likened to the one been worn by soldiers in battle, with total olden days military fatigues of all type, heavy noise commoted item like a mass of metal gong about 600 pieces sweed or tied together around the waist to generate heavy noise as it clashed spontaneously, these method adopted made our enemies to cower in fright coppled with 25mm x 3ft Dane gun used in those wars added to the famous Okpo Na Ani(Ground Granade) made with local Charcoal Gun Powder and palm kanel fronds.

These feast is cerebrated on Uka Afor market day on the beginning /middle of November every two years, you need to witness this festival to understand what am talking about, if you happen to be in Ogbete, New/Old market or infact every other motor parks Enugu State be least assured that you will never get a bus to other destination other than the ones going to Nsude for the Nkwa festival.

Onyeama was born around 1870s, the youngest of the ten children of Özö Omulu Onwusi,from EKE town in Udi LGA Enugu State Nigeria.

Now I am shocked that in all my years of existence I never knew that Igbo people built pyramids, nothing like the gigantic Egyptian pyramids but pyramids nonetheless.

The picture above shows the late G.I Jones in front of a pyramid. He was was a Welsh photographer and anthropologist. His photographs of life in Nigeria in the 1930s, taken whilst serving as a colonial civil servant, led to an interest in ethnology and a second career as an academic at the University of Cambridge.

I am just so shocked that if i hadn't found G.I Jones archives then I would never had found out this amazing piece of out history. I wonder if these pyramids still exist, very unlikely. Knowing Nigerians and their utter disregard for preservation of anything, they have leveled the pyramids and erected some vulgarity on it.

Me I love the white man o!I love the fact that they would come to an unknown land and fall in love with the people and culture even in the most treacherous conditions. People like Mary Slessor who risked her life for strangers.

Most of the pictures I have seen which show my people in the 30's and 1900's were taken by some colonial guy. G.I Jones your are my hero of the month for giving me a glimpse into the past.

I always dislike the term "South-South."

But a foolish Igbo man created it for the minorities.

Its a shame u dont understand the ingenuity of Ekwueme. no doubt the creation of SS has some bad. it breaks up the bond. however, with many minorities and a larger main tribe slugging it out always on  political positions, development infrastructures etc, it was always bringing bad belle between us.

Back then, even in Rivers, other minorities became hesitant to sell land or do business with igbos; ijaws always raging over anything , position etc against the igbos.
This rage against the Federal Government over oil allocations and revenue were back then heaped on Igbos. they erroneously accused the igbos for  the lack of development in their land, thinking the majority igbo led leadership was shortchanging them.

Now, since Ekwueme created out SS, Igbos are held at high esteem in these places. A bayelsa ijaw man yearns to date and marry Igbo girls.
They even strive to have igbos live within them.
They engage in true friendship partnership with Igbos. Igbo traders are welcomed even better than the Federal Government.

asari dokubu even said they re best attached with the Igbos.

All these only happened becos we dont fight over same thing , same position, same allocation,  location of same projects .
 



Also, look igbos and her close relatives- (ibibos, efik anyans and rivers minorities n ijaws) now have two regions. SE N SS. owing to the way things are doled out in this country we will forever be getting twos.

The answer to those is simply , NOs. The one singular catalyst that is chiefly responsible for the  devastation in  these area has been lack of .  .  .  . . not keeping up with trend.

Nkwo nnewi was built in .  .  .  God knows when, was initially a collection of shoddy market stalls , then it graduate to lock-up stalls, then finally it came to rest as  market shops.

This scenario plays itself out in every market in the east including portharcourt and ikot ekpene.

From Onitsha main market to Eke ukwu.

Every one of these markets has stalled in growth, and now on the decline. millions are being lost daily, investments are going belle-up, profit margin is as low as ever and worst of all, even the outlook is as grime as an Aboki's excrement. 

Of course its easy to put the blames squarely on the federal Government or the state government, however as Nigerian who know their govt and her antecedent , to keep blaming her or waiting on her to spun growth in these area is  shear silliness.

The shell and chervon staff decides to step up from Aba tailored to TM lewin.

Now, no doubt these markets has always kept at pace with people's demands and sure enuff, every single material thing one can aspire or desire is sure bound to be in these markets. But the problem is, as people step up, so do their tolerance bar go up as well, as such,  these people - whom previously shopped in these markets, will no longer want to walk into these "filth" called Arieara or Onitsha Main market to shop.


Persons wanting to buy a generator of upto N100,000 now are prefering to spend N10,000 more to go to lagos and shop there than buy same generator in Arieara. not minding the hassle and risk. same replicates itsef for anything expensive ; music band set to home theater, kitchen utensils to even clothing.

This emerging trend is really really bad for the East because soon the big businesses would grow tired of marginal profit and what next ? THEY WILL RELOCATE, of course to Lagos or Abuja. This Relocate means moving away jobs, taxable revenue, and actual liquidity.
when he moves, that's another BIG man out of a housing area, soon, the housing price for the area falls as "small" boys become the new occupant.
peoples investment in housing gets wiped out.
standard of living symbiotically drops. poverty expands. crime rises. death become eminent .

What is wrong with us?

As late as 30 years ago, the only place one could buy unit motor spare parts in amble quantity in the whole of West Africa +Central Africa + southern Africa -(can't say of north) was in nnewi, anambra state, Nigeria. Lagos and Kano bought from her, Malabo, Gabon, Congo- kinsasha, Congo -brazaville, Uganda, Namibia, an even south Africa- a man I know was among the first pioneers in SA. Don't get me wrong, in some these countries including in Lagos one could directly buy from a company representative -which meant if one of your head lamp was broken u would have to buy a new PAIR, as unit parts weren't sold as nnewi trader came to popularised.

Now, imagine the fortune and potential that presented to Anambra as a state. Imagine how rich Anambra could have been ?
Why wasn't this fortune sustained ?
What dissipated this fortune?
Why did the people allow such opportunity slip away?
Or, could it be igbos leader are inherently incompetent in sustaining development?
Or could it be a federal govt economic sabotage ?
Abi, are yorubas also the cause?

. EVEN SOME EXPANSIVE STRETCHES OF ROAD.

even the roads, the are now being  built by persons wud turn around to milk the living day light out of Lagosians via tolls.

The  big question is , SINCE MOST DEVELOPMENTS WE SEE IN THE STATE ARE MOSTLY PRIVATE WHAT IS FASHOLA AND ACN DOING WITH UNPRECEDENTED HEFTY TAX THEY ARE COERCING FROM THE INNOCENT CITIZENRY, FEDERAL ALLOCATION  ?

Don't forget the world bank has been actively involve in lots of big projects in that state, then what project can fashola point to as a state, his pet  project ?

using your apple analogy,

imagine a house hold of 100 people (lagos population) farming on a community land (Nigerian economy)  and pulling their harvest together. if the average effort of a person in this analogy is $1000, their harvest wud be about $1000 x 100 = $100,000 . agreed

2nd scenario , on that same community land, a house hold of  10 people ( say, enugu) farming on same community land (Nigerian economy) and pulling their harvest together as well, with same average effort as scenario 1, their harvest wud b $1000 x 10 =  $10,000.

{taking out the feeding factor, since no state in Nigeria pays any form of benefit}

Now, which of these farms shd have the resources for expansion into say mechanized farming (development).

tractor                   = 20,000
harvester              = 10,000
sprinkler                = 12,000
combine harvester = 15,000
storage                  =  20,000
farm produce processing m/c= 21,000.



Farm A could easily within a year muster the resources to move into mechanized farming (being developed) while Farm B, even as she desires to match farm A it wud take her about TEN YEARS to go mechanized.

Simply put, you are wrong. A country with a GDP/capita of $10k is almost always better developed/advanced than one with one of $1K. I doubt you'll be able to find any sort of counterexample (once you get your #s fixed).

On it flawed per cap bench Mark, check this out , equatorial Guinea is one of the richest countries in this world per capital, little oil revenue but far less population, yet the country is miserably poor. Despite the large per cap, the actual money is way too small for meaningful development .

2 Ex. India economy might be worth 1.trillion $, and population 1.2 billion, which gives us below $ 900 per capital. while, Solomon island of 10,000 people and economy of misely $10million wud have a per capital of $1000. higher than indian!

Becos, Lagos state as a formal fct has always had higher HDI than most states, why not, when as an fct federal government built the existing housing schemes, built massive secondary n primary school, built the top federal hospitals n health Centers, and other federal investments. The Fed didnt relocate those structure n foundations to Abuja.

Lagos clearly has the most cash at hand to work. your flawed per cap, it not as if the government Is handing out  money to her residents, so it doesnt count. What counts is availability of cash n revenue to develop the state. On that Lagos is way richer, yet on the back pedal on development. 

Take a minute to analyse it, over the past four years what project or projects could one point to as what could have decimated Lagos state stack of revenue ?

On most basic indexes, highlighting over the past 4 years, Lagos is no where to compare to either river, akwa ibom, calabar, Enugu.
On total km of road built
On number of houses/housing scheme built
On  new hospitals n health centres
On education.
On town planning. Lagos Is still in filth n chaos.

So how is he performing?

Yes, a number of spanking new malls has sprang up in Lagos but is wasn't from the government. There re all private.

What wud it take to hv a contract for the building and management of a water scheme, with water purification n comprehensive network of pipebore water delivered to every home?

When will a lagosian kid playing football in the field, on exhaustion run to a near by tap and dispense water for drinking ?

How long wud lagosians drink salty well water for?
Does Fashola not know that this issue results to over 17,000 deaths in Lagos state yearly?

Lagos state is one of the few states in Nigeria which was actually planned, though the current residence has clearly overwhelmed the infrastructures available. However many people are now in the middle class and hence are paying tax steadily. Lagos is rich and there shd b no reason why Lagos state should not b providing services, services the tax is meant for.

. How much wud it cost Fashola to dredge or dislodge the canal system that was incorporated in the master plan, a canal the federal government build for her citizenry ?

. Must tax paying residents live in squalor n filth, Over-flowing canals, rat infestation and total degradation becos of FASHOLA's incompetence ?

Did the state government paying for it a nice move? Absolutely Not. It clearly show hind-sightedness.

How about, if Fashola had instead, sold out four to five licences to different companies to service those n other unserviced route in Lagos .
Imagine how much money Lagos cud hv made from it?
Imagine how much gov cud hv saved from wat it currently spends on maintenance n payment of salaries with provision of pension plan for her employees.

Gov, cud have only being at the side running inspections n i
ensuring good service. N cud hv plough the money wasted on those buses into road repairs, marking, lighting, traffic lighting, pedestrian walkway n bridge.

Fashola has failed n exposed his lack of vision for the state with his proposed financial district on same note attesting to the lekki free zone. These two conflicting economic formulas within a few miles of one another.

Now, every city defines itself by wat it wants to be.
An industrial state? Like goudjuon ( I bet I got the spelling wrong, the Chinese top Industrial city), Birmingham, detroit, hamburg, nashawa( nt too sure I got the name, but Japan sha).

Or u hv the neat n tidy financial state, shanghai, London, New York, Frankfurt, Tokyo etc.

Now, how does Lagos n Fashola intend to reconcile these two divergent economic templates  ?

The new lekki trade zone, yes wud bring needed revenue but its location and wud be position in the state wud only strifle any form of liberation from Lagos's current squalor status.

Outcome: ? Lagos becomes very in-conducive for the financial industry. They migrate. The foreign companies, to Ghana. Local, to Abuja. (after, 100 bomb blast might consider Enugu  )

Alright, the term failure might be stretching it in Nigerians definitive term, but no doubt, fashola is absolutely at best, mediocre.

Sincerely what has Fashola done as the governor of LAGOS STATE that deserves thought-out applauds ? A state so inundated with investment opportunities n potentials yet only minimal development, dirt, filth, n chaos is abound.

Now, what is the job of a state governor (in Nigeria) ?
1. protection of life and properties.
2. provision of effective n affordable health services.
3. provision of sound n competitive education and educational services.
4. Provision of social infractures like road building n repairs, potable pipebore water,  sanitary disposal, transport.
5. Structuring Town planning, provision of housing, and housing/ building codes for privates,   and likely its beautification associates etc .
6. Establishing a sound economic policy for development. This policy in essence shd n wub become the definitive attribute of d state.

Jobs? State governments aren't necessary responsibly for providing jobs rather they provide enabling environment to provide jobs via companies and industries setting up in the state. (says capitalism) .

If I'm not mistaking and forgetting any point, I think these are the major job n duty of a governor.
