Kobojunkie: Nigeria needs you. wink wink wink

I'm sure that the little change you can make within your level of expertise might be worthwhile.
PoliticsRe: 'Return Home', Fashola Charges Nigerians In Diaspora by madamkoko: 8:31pm On Aug 21, 2008
Yes, I think religion is a huge factor in Nigeria's backward state. BUT not to sidetrack from the conversation.

What is the underlying problem ? In fact, I think that its much EASY to talk about problems than to discuss solutions.

Meaning: I believe Fashola's comment is that Nigerians in the Diaspora should come home to find solutions to problems that haunt Nigeria.

Its much easy to discuss problems: no light, no water, gas, armed robber, corruption, thieves, no jobs, no safety, environmental pollution and the list is endless,

the real questions becomes what can WE (as a people) do about it. I find that most of the time, I find that when people go back home from abroad, they become part of the problem (they are corrupt and you know don't do anything different)
PoliticsRe: 'Return Home', Fashola Charges Nigerians In Diaspora by madamkoko: 7:49pm On Aug 21, 2008
Fashola is referring to the brain drain issue. Brain drain is a huge problem for most African countries

Maybe if Nigerians stop all this religious nonsense, maybe then, theyll be able to stay in their own countries.

Christianity EtcRe: Marrying Outside One's Religion by madamkoko: 4:48pm On Aug 21, 2008
This normally doesn't work. (marrying someone who has different beliefs than yours)

I notice that one side always works effortlessly to convert the other side and if this doesn't work then trouble and problems loom.

He didn't drink the wine because the wine was for the couple/guests doing the wedding.

Can we pls put the bible in context. It is also clear that Jesus did not condemn anyone in that wedding ceremony for drinking wine.

Recommended Jobs for Christian brothers and sisters:

Carpentry
Brick Laying
Teaching
Mechanic
Tailoring(as long as you don't sew miniskirts and show breast blouses)
Pastoring
Church services
Pilot
Trading on selected items
Church contractors.
Labourers
landscaping
Ministry jobs
I recommend that every xtian in Nigeria QUIT their so called worldly jobs and EACH START THIER OWN CHURCH.

Let politicans continue to steal
Let the oil companies continue to steal our wealth
Let the status quo continue
Let all the xtians in Nigeria start their own church to make heaven (which may or may not exist)

NO WONDER, NIGERIA WILL NEVER CHANGE!!!!!

Christianity EtcRe: Can A Christian Work For A Cigarette Company? by madamkoko: 8:05pm On Aug 20, 2008
It is known, obvious, apparent, clear, that Cigarettes destroy lives but a decision like this should not be made based on religion but on moral standards, principles, and ethics.

I don't see what it has to do with religion.

I'm not surprised why there are soo many hypocrites in the church today.

I am amazed at some nairalanders, always quick to post a bible verse.

The interesting thing about the bible is that it can support or refute any argument. Meaningless or not.

Didn't the bible also say "Ask and it shall be given unto you," "whatever you ask in my name, the father shall give unto" or something of that sort.

Pls learn to provide substantial arguments without using bible verses. It lacks credibility in arguments.

Christianity EtcRe: Should Dreams Be Taken Seriously? by madamkoko(op): 3:42pm On Aug 20, 2008
I think there's a dream dictionary. But I notice that there is a Nigerian interpretation of dreams and a western interpretation of dreams. Therefore in some way making it useless, at least to me.

I know Dr. Olukoya has a dream book or something of that sort.
Christianity EtcRe: Can A Christian Work At A Brewery? by madamkoko: 3:37pm On Aug 20, 2008
The responses on this post shows how much brainwashing has taken place in Nigeria through all this religious nonsense.

Gosh, am I saddened.

When many of you now come abroad, you won't mind taking on any job function (Mcdonalds worker, Home Health Aide, Janitor, curiousity didn't kill the cat but opportunity did. Such NONSENSE.@!!!! ).

But in your own countries you'll be criticizing what job will get you to heaven or not.

Everything in the world is evil, if your thinking makes it so.

How does working or not working at a brewery prevent someone else from not drinking ? Don't people have a choice to drink or not.

Its not like before brewweries we did not have OGOGORO.

I also don't know what this conversation has to do with SIN. my gosh, when did it become a sin to earn a living.

When I say banning religion is a solution to Nigeria's problem, some people will be saying that I'm yarning opats, anyways sha. ALL OF YOU KEEP DECIEVING YOURSELVES.
