@ ravenzord Nope, Tiara was the one to call it quits - read thru again - and she was crying a little - and more out of annoyance at herself than any regrets. It's just a story though so people are free to draw their own conclusions .@RuuDie Wow, thanks for that. Okay, the Tiara/Raymond fiasco is def. over. She can do better, don't you think ? |
Lol, ok, ok. But the word should be "cook", then, if that's what you mean. By the way, I searched hard and found it on the internet. It was the best-laid recipe of all the ones I saw . So now you know my deep, dark secret . |
In the beginning I used to be like, who the heck is Kanye - but now I'm a firm believer. This is one rapper I always buy his album. If it's one rap CD I buy in a year, it'll be Mr. West's. |

Here's some info about ogbono: Ogbono soup is a traditional Nigerian soup where “ogbono” represents the inner kernels of the wild African mango, and when cooked has a viscous, glutinous texture(termed “draw”soup), and a nutmeg colour. Besides the ogbono seeds, water and oil, the soup typically contains leaf vegetables, other vegetables, seasonings, and meat. Typical leaf vegetable include bitter leaf and ugwu. Typical other vegetables include okra, and for some tastes, tomatoes. Typical meats include beef, goat, fish, chicken, bushmeat shrimp or crayfish, stockfish and the ever-popular tripe. It can be eaten with pounded yam, eba, amala etc or with rice. )Here's a helpful recipe too. . . lkg/ 21b assorted meats (oxtail, tripe, ponmo & bushmeat) 450g/llb stock fish(pre-soaked) 450g / llb dried fish (washed) 225g / 8oz whole dry prawns (cleaned) 225g / 8oz ground ogbono seeds 225g/8oz ground crayfish 25g / 8oz ground pepper 25g / loz iru I medium onion 290ml /10 fl oz palmoil 3pt stock or water salt to taste Washed the assorted meats thoroughly and place in a pot. Add the sliced onions, ground pepper and some stock or water. Cook for 30 minutes. Add the washed smoked fish and stockfish, cook for a further 10-15 minutes adding a drop of water or stock as needed to stop it from burning. In another pot, heat the oil and fry the ground seeds for 3 minutes to bring out the nutty flavour. Gradually add the stock and whisk until it draws and bubbles. Add the cooked meats peppers and crayfish. Dissolve the locust bean in a little stock and add to the soup. Allow to simmer for another 10 minutes, check seasoning and serve hot with pounded yam. VARIATIONS OGBONO SOUP WITH BITTER LEAF 225g / 8oz washed bitter leaf added to main recipe OGBONO SOUP WITH UGWU 500g / llb shredded ugwu leaves added to main recipe. You can also add mushroom and Okro to this soup to give it a diffrerent flavour PS---I love ogbono but I'll be the first to admit it's not very photogenic - or I'd have put up a picture. Nevertheless, it looks good and tastes good "on ground" as my warfi people will say .As for egusi soup, make the egusi lovers post their own ![]() |
@rare004 Alas, my location is closer to my team than to you. But have no worries; you'll never walk alone . |

“Tiara, baby. . .,” he crooned, rising and trying to wrap his arms around her. “One kiss isn’t going to hurt, would it?” “First a kiss, then what?” she asked, angry and a little scared. “Is that why you brought me here?” As she spoke, she backed out of his arms. Only now she was beginning to realise how menacing he seemed, so tall and broad shouldered and – bigger than she was. They were all alone in the house, who could help her if she screamed? She berated herself for her foolishness in trusting him. He saw the fearful look on her face and sighed. “Babe, relax. You know I love you. You’re my girl now. I just wanted us to know each other better.” “Yes; “know” being the operative word here,” she sneered, snatching up her purse. “Look, just take me home, Raymond.” “I will,” he told her, his voice placating, as he reached out to take her hand. “I’m sorry that I offended you. You don’t know how beautiful you are. . .” He began to caress her skin tenderly, and she snatched her hand away. “What’s your problem?” he suddenly snapped, startling her. “Am I so disgusting? Many girls would kill to be in your shoes right now. Going skittish ‘cos of one measly kiss. I should have known you’re just a kid.” He took up his keys from the nearby dressing table. Tiara was too dazed by his change of attitude to speak, and followed him without a word back out to the car. He drove her home in silence, but when he stopped in front of the house and she made to get out, he stopped her with a hand on her arm. She shrugged it away at once, and he sighed. “Look, I’m sorry okay? I really thought you were into me,” he said gently. “But if you think I’m going to fast, I’m ready to. . .” “Forget it, Raymond,” she said, shaking her head a little sadly. “I don’t blame you for what happened; I should never have gone with you to your house in the first place.” She took a deep breath. “I don’t think we should see each other again.” “If that’s the way you feel,” he replied, after a few moments. He knew he’d blown it, and he wasn’t the begging type. He was used to girls being easy, and though Tiara was different, and he’d have loved to get closer to her – but if she was such a prissy little miss, then he probably didn’t need the drama. She was taken aback by how unfeeling he was, but swallowed any self-pity and with dignity, got out of the car and, without a backward glance, headed for her front door. She’d barely rung the bell when she heard him drive off with a squeal of tyres, and it was then a single tear fell on her cheek. |

@semid4lyfe, why naaa? . He's just misled, don't mind him. You know the way his mom died, the pressure of having fame and losing the best person to share it with, can take its toll. He wasn't lying when he said that's one of the reasons he's been "misbehaving" more than usual . |
How about I make my own list?! 1.Chinua Achebe 2.Cyprian Ekwensi 3.Wole Soyinka 4.Buchi Emecheta 5. James Ngugi ![]() |

@ mystikal why u dey ask . With internet, anything is possible . |
@ sara j, you might be right about the fishy, I mean those two were getting too close in the house; she never said a bad word about S'vash no matter the idiotic things he did; she listened to him and followed his advice most times. Anyway, she was the first and only girl to "go out" with a hm8 in BB '09, so she's as cheap as they come. Not being mean but that girl doesn't have sense; almost all the girls in the house had the hots for S'vash so she was prolly acting on a crush when she gave him a whole 10k. Did you see how S'vash was practically forcing 1k from Noirin because they had a bet in the house that she'd pose nude for mags, which she has done? The girl just ignored the idiot. Charity ko, charity ni. He's using the money for his ridiculous costumes . |
ROFL!!! Who thinks up these stuff anyway ??Someone(Kanye) must be snorting some really expensive cocaine to get carried away the way he did - but then I see all the "racist" stuff he's been quoted as saying, and then I know it's not drugs. Man's just overzealous, is all. You get that way sometimes when you feel superior about your talents, and the talents of your "black sisters and brothers". Somehow, I'm beginning to respect him for this his. . . . outspokeness . |
@ Abuzola, I am very disappointed in you. You are not a man of your word. Jesus was not of the law, he never tried to "prescribe" anything, but to guide. That was his ministry, to light the way and not be oppressive like the pharisees were. But I see now that you never meant to give your life to Christ no matter what. So I won't force you because the Word said no man can come to God unless God calls him. Your case is beyond human intervention . |
OOOh happy day. . . . . (I hope someone is getting the baptismal water ready ----)@Abuzola, from the above New Testament verses we have shown that Jesus Christ not only mentioned fasting, but laid guidelines on how fasting should be udertaken (and the rewards thereof). Need we say more?? When Jesus washed, all my sins away. . . . ![]() |
They didn't perish, @ Sauron---they simply moved on to bigger and better things. . . . . |
