I can help you but you have to take what i write serious

1- Pygmalion effect:
Make him understand what you expect of him as a student.
Gently tell him that you expect him to do this, this and that.

2- Positive re-enforcemen[/b]t
reward him with praise and gifts( if possibe) anytime he shows the desirable or wanted behaviour you seek for.

3- [b]self talk:
teach him to always talk to himself positively. Every morning, before you start class, call him out ask him to repeat this word
"my name is ____ and i will not forget to ____. _____ and ______ as instructed by my teacher".

4- Response opportunity:
ask him questions and guide him through the answer if he makes mistake. Do not accept a low standard answer, rather, correct and guide.


If you can do these things i listed, he will definitely improve but you have to believe in the process and in the student.

Some students are what we call "late bloomers".
They might seem slow initially but when they flap their wings and fly, the world will marvel. Einstein is an example of one of those.

You have to help your fellow (wo)man nau. Looks like you're able to control how, when and to whom you give. It's not always easy to plan or turn away. It's hard for some to see others suffering. I help others and I get a lot of help in return. I have given my last kobo to people and then turn around and have to struggle. Yeah, not smart. Hard habit to break, really. If those people are good people who are truly in need and they will in turn help others - pay it forward - I don't mind. Shame that people take advantage.

Also, just because someone is poor doesn't make them untrustworthy. I have poor relatives that never ask for anything and never steal or lie, and they live within their means with dignity even if they're suffering. And I have better-off relatives who are never satisfied no matter what you give them, though they live somewhat comfortably, considering it's Naija. But, yes, poverty can be frightening though, no bull. Even more so for those in it. But it can also be a temporary circumstance. Many that are going through it do not have a poor mentality. Meaning they are ready to aspire to better, with just a little helping hand. It is grace that keeps many from succumbing to the same level.

i used to be like you. You have a great sense of responsibility just like me and that can really be a bad thing.
Sometimes, you have to realize that the people and their problems would still exist with or without your help.
I am not against helping your fellow man but you HAVE TO HELP THE RIGHT PERSON. The right person to help is yourself and your family members.

When i was in school, i witnessed a girl get raped. I was in my 3rd year while she was in her first year.
She was dressed decently and looking well mannered but her only crime was visiting her so called "boy friend".
I heard her screaming and begging from outside and i tried to intervene by banging on the door severally.
The boy totally ignored me... Then i summoned his neigbors and we got the door open. To my utter dismay, it was two boys that raped this girl and she was a virgin..... The shock on the girl's face haunted me for weeks.,, she was totally numb and couldn't utter a word... just tears!!!....

If dressing modestly is a preventive measure for rape, then why do we still have cases of girls covered in hijab getting raped?
why do we have cases of men raping innocent children??

The scam is not carried out by the government. It is private individuals and the VIO involved. I think the VIO get a kick back from every policy sold. In summary...you have a choice. If you want to give your 5000 naira to the VIO, that's fine. I prefer to pay mine to the insurance company directly. Like I said, government is in no way involved in this. Government had no business providing insurance cover. You do not get a government receipt for the insurance cover so leave government out it. You are being scammed by he VIO and private individuals.

It is NOT COMPULSORY for you to purchase your insurance from the vehicle licencing office. Fact is the insurance they sell is worthless and the only use is for you to complete your papers. Secondly, they rely on the ignorance of drivers to sell these fake insurance knowing drivers rarely make claims especially on 3rd party policies. When I renew my vehicle particulars, I only pay for the vehicle license. I go online and buy my 3rd party insurance from reputable insurance companies and print off my policy and attach. It is still the same 5000 naira for the 3rd party and I least I have the peace of mind knowing my 3rd party cover is genuine. Dominique, the 5000 does not go to the government; it goes to the crooks selling the worthless policies.

He did a comprehensive insurance that's why he got paid. The one the op is talking about is a third-party insurance the government mandates every car owner to get. The money goes directly to the government's pocket and the car owner doesn't benefit from it in anyway. I'm yet to see anyone that has benefited from it.

Every car owner in Nigeria pays vehicle insurance fees whenever they want to renew their car papers.
What is the essence of this fee when you cannot make an insurance claim after an accident or related events?
Where does this insurance money go and which company handles it?
