Wh
Flashaldrin: I'm a christian and an active member of a pentecostal church, but i've found that most times i get bored with the sermons, but nothing ministers to me like music. Pure gospel music.
Some songs touch me the most, esp those by don moen, micheal smith, hillsong. They are;
1. Ancient words (m smith)
2. I see you (m smith)
3. He never sleeps (don moen)
4. Be magnified (don moen)
5. Here i am to worship (m smith)
6. I will sing (don moen)
7. Who am i (casting crowns)
8. My heart will trust (hillsong)
9. For your name is holy (paul wilbur)
10. All i need is you (hillsong)
11. Seed to sow (m smith)
this songs instantly bring me to my knees with a kind of indescribable feeling and a broken spirit.
i also love gospel rock, they make me high in the spirit, grin eg;
1. You deserve (hillsong)
2. Run (hillsong)
3. Your name high (hillsong)

are their any like me?? What are the songs that minister to you most?? Lets share!

Politics / Re: Enough Is Enough, ACF Tells Boko Haram by maigaskiya1: 11:03am On Sep 08, 2012
karl max: By Chuks Okocha

The Arewa Consultative Forum has again called on the extremist Islamic sect, Boko Haram to lay down its arms, adopt dialogue and stop all violent activities.

The apex northern group also commended the efforts of the federal government to dialogue with the militants, while lampooning "those questioning Nigeria’s status as one united country."

According to a communiqué issued Friday in Abuja following a Board of Trustees meeting chaired by Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni and a National Executive Committee meeting chaired by Alhaji Aliko Mohammed, ACF also chided the Boko Haram sect and declared that "enough is enough."

The ACF statement signed by its spokesperson, Anthony Sani, said both meetings considered "the security challenges of the Boko Haram sect; ethno-religious crises in some states of the North and the spate of kidnappings and communal clashes across the South-East."

The meetings also examined "the widespread armed robberies in the South-West; and the militant activities and oil bunkering in the South-South."

The ACF also expressed appreciation with the efforts of northern state governors in setting up panels to help find lasting solution to the country’s security challenges and called on Nigerians to support government’s action.

The ACF also said it considered the expressions of ethnic nationalism as manifested by recent declaration of autonomy and hoisting of flags and anthems by some groups as unhelpful.

It noted that "actions which promote cleavages along ethnic and religious lines are unlikely to inspire national solidarity that must go with our relative pluralism."

The ACF also praised the actions of religious leaders whom it said took it upon themselves to promote tolerance between faiths through interdenominational breaking of fast "as hosted by Archbishop John Onaiyekan in Abuja; Archbishop Kaigama in Jos and many others who stood guard at places of worship while members of the opposite religion prayed."

It therefore called on all religious, political as well as community leaders to follow suit for collective good.

On the debate relating to the review of the constitution, the ACF objected to the concern expressed by the presidency: "It was the considered view of the meetings that, given the fact that progress comes from change through robust debates, and the fact that democracy is a contest of ideas and reasons, the debates should continue provided it is conducted with decorum and sense of patriotism."

The meetings also expressed concern about "the current state of affairs in the New Nigerian Development Company" and urged Northern state governments to look into it."

PapaBrowne: This Government is doing things that were not done in the last 25 years in Nigeria.

Power- For the first time, We are feeling the impact.

Agriculture- Tremendous change is happening there!

Roads- There is highway construction happening in every region and they are countless. It could be faster.

Railways- Small small renovations of tracks. We need faster tracks.

Airports- Not only have they remodelled the horrible prisons we called airports, they are building brand new terminals!! Excellent!

The Police- The police force has begun to solve very mysterious murder cases in very explained fashion.

There are only two area this Government has not yet hit a home run- 1) Corruption 2) National security!

We need to accord them accolades when they perform!! And I think they are sitting up fast!!

Politics / Re: CBN To Sensitize Nigerians On N5000 Note by maigaskiya1: 12:37pm On Sep 03, 2012
Biggyd2: DESPITE criticisms trailing the proposed currency restructuring exercise tagged ‘Project Cure’, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said it is moving ahead as scheduled and there is no going back.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the apex bank had set up a sensitisation machinery to convince the various interest groups and members of the public on the desirability of going ahead with the project.

The senstisation team, which commenced its tour of Abuja last week, will stopover in Lagos today. The team is expected to go round the six geopolitical zones of the country.

It will be recalled that ‘Project Cure’, especially the planned introduction of N5,000 note and coinage of lower denominations, has generated furore, with many prominent citizens calling on the CBN governor, Lamido Sanusi, to dump the project.

However, CBN had insisted that there was no going back.

According to the apex bank, under the CBN Act of 2007, it has the overall control and administration of the monetary and financial sector policies of the Federal Government. It stressed that the planned project was in line with global best practice which demands that countries restructure their currencies every five and eight years to be ahead of counterfeiters.

It explained that the coinage of the lower denominations up to N100 was recommended by the currency management key stakeholders at different forums held in Lagos and Abuja prior to the restructuring, noting that the redesigning of the notes was aimed at making them more secure, enhancing their durability to last longer in circulation and streamlining their aesthetic and security features.

The banking watchdog maintained that the new N50 and N5,000 would be launched during the first quarter of 2013 and which would be followed by the gradual introduction of the two denominations at a time.

Re-enforcing the stand of the apex bank, Head, Corporate Communications of CBN, Ugochukwu Okoroafor, averred that it would be cheaper to print and issue N5,000 note, stressing that the introduction of a higher bill would complement the cashless policy initiative by reducing the volume of bank notes to be printed.

According to the CBN spokesman, countries around the world was looking for a way out of polymer notes, stating that the move to do away with polymer notes was consistent with the CBN’s position of changing with times and technology.

He disclosed that the apex bank had started reaching out to various interest groups to ensure acceptability, adding that the project was also in line with the country’s Vision 20:2020 policy.

Family / Re: Mother Of 5 Gives Birth To Quadruplets In Ibadan, Husband Flees by maigaskiya1: 11:55pm On Sep 02, 2012
maclatunji: Drama in Ibadan: Woman gives birth to quadruplets after five children, husband absconds

"Children are the heritage of God and blessed is the man that his quiver is full of them,” says the Holy book, but not in the situation of 35-year-old Iyabo Oladunni, a mother of five girls who was blessed with a set of quadruplets at 5:14pm on Friday 24, 2012 at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan .

Iyabo, who live in Ijaye Orile near Ibadan, Oyo State, with her husband, Olayemi Oladunni, is a tailor by profession, while her husband is a welder.

The mother of five girls before the birth of the quadruplets said that her aim and hope of having another baby after the five girls was to have a boy. But to her amazement, God gave her more than she requested and expected.

Moreover, Iyabo Oladunni said that the eldest of the first five girls, who is now 12 years old, lives with her father’s younger brother at Lagos. The second girl, 8-year-old, is presently in Nursery 3 in a school in Ijaye; the third born, a set of twins, are in Nursery 1 and the fifth girl, aged three years has not started schooling.

When asked how she feels about the birth of the babies, Iyabo said “I have mixed feelings about their deliveries. I’m partly happy and partly sad. I’m happy because I have a male which is my desire among the four children, and sad because I don’t have the wherewithal to take care of them in a rented room where we live.”

According to Iyabo, although the couple were both desirous to have a male child, it was amazing that her husband and the father of the quadruplets, Olayemi, took to his heels immediately he had an inkling a day to his wife’s delivery.

Recounting her husband's reaction when he heard she was carrying four babies in her womb, Iyabo said “after a scan was carried out in the month of March this year, and it showed there were four babies in my womb, I was afraid and started crying.

'"But the doctor who did the ultrasound test encouraged me to pray to God for assistance instead of weeping. The man also told me that God, who put them there, will definitely take care of them. When I got home after the scan, I told my husband about it and he kept asking me 'where do I take the four babies to?'"

She, however, pleaded with her husband wherever he is that he should return home so that they can jointly take care of the babies, even as she called on the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, to come to the aid of the babies in whatever ways he deems fit. She also appealed to Nigerians generally to come to her rescue.

According to the pastor of the Oladunnis, Evangelist Olawumi Abiola of Emmanuel Anglican Church, Ijaye Orile, Akinyele Local Government, Ibadan, “Mrs. Iyabo Oladunni started complaining of stomach pain for a very long time and had used some medications. When she told me that the pain persisted, I persuaded her to undergo a medical test in order to get to the root of the stomach pain.

After the test, she discovered that it was pregnancy and I told her that she should go and register in a hospital outside Ijaye. She obeyed and came to register at Adeoyo State Hospital. I can’t afford to lose her as I lost another member of the church about two years ago.”

Evangelist Abiola also spoke about the committment of the Oladunnis, especially the wife owing to the fact that women are generally committed to the work of God. He also expressed his gratitude to God for keeping the four babies and their mothers alive. "I implore Nigerians to come to our aid, most especially considering the future of these children. The responsibility cannot be carried by an individual more so that the parents live in a village; there is no money in the village.”

Also speaking, the mother-in-law, Madam Moyiola Oladunni, said, “I’m very happy for this miraculous work of God. When God gives me this blessing, I can’t question him, but my major concern is how to take care of these blessings because it’s not a one-man responsibility.”

Acidosis: Man Shoots Son Dead In Failed ‘bullet Proof’ Charm Test

September 2, 2012 | 4:49 am

News
By PETER DURU

In a bid to test the potency of his newly acquired bullet proof ‘juju’, a man, Ornguga Adega, of Agbatse village in Kwande local government area of Benue State, shot his only son dead while conducting a gunshot test on the boy.

Sunday Vanguard gathered that the suspect, who was immediately apprehended by men of the Benue State Police Command, is currently facing trial at a Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court. According to the First
Information Report, FIR, by the police, the suspect and father of the ten- year- old had, in August 2012, bought some charm from a native doctor with the belief that it was potent enough to prevent the penetration of bullets into his body. He was said to have rubbed his ‘bullet proof’ cream on the body of his son in order to verify its efficacy and potency in line with the instructions of the native doctor from whom he bought the charm.
According to the FIR, Adega fired a shot with his single barrel gun on the right leg of his son following which the
bullet shattered the leg and also penetrated through to the left leg.

The boy was said to have bled profusely but before his shocked and devastated father could get proper medical attention for him, the little boy bled to death. When the case came up at the Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court, police prosecutor, Inspector Gabriel Egbonyi, said the accused was arrested at the process of investigating the cause of death of the young boy.

Egbonyi further told the court that the accused confessed to committing the crime and also acknowledged responsibility for the unfortunate incident which prompted further police investigation into the matter. Meanwhile no plea was taken for want of jurisdiction. However the prosecution said investigation was still in progress in the matter and asked for another date for hearing. The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dan Ogoh, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to 12 September.
